  • "After viewing much of the sites at the Getty, it is a real treat to sit and relax at a beautiful restaurant that feels special. The selection of items on the menu is unique and presentation is very nice. We had a great time and we highly recommend including lunch at the Getty Center Restaurant a part of viewing the Getty"

  • "It's a great combo evening. Museum first then eat. Beautiful room. You can actually have a conversation. Had a Prix fixe with wine pairing. Good food but the wine was beautifully paired."

  • "The staff; from the hostess, the waiter, and the kitchen, were somewhere else last Saturday night. Hostess could not figure out where to seat us. Waiter, appeared, disappeared, reappeared, as though he was in a fog. Maybe he was having a bad night. Tried to sell me a dessert when it was on the prix fixe menu? Food was mediocre. Lobster risotto, was fair at best. Tomato salad with buratta on a piece of wood?, tastes better at home. the 5oz steak, was two pieces of meat that were slightly larger than chicken nuggets, and were tough and tasteless. The peach dessert, with chiffon cake? Deconstructed? looked like something from a nursery school arts project and did not work at all. waiter never picked up my AMEx"

  • "While traveling to Orange County with my girlfriend, a client recommended that we try the restaurant at The Getty Center. He text me the link in which to make a reservation, and declared that the architecture and view were exceptional. While reserving a table for lunch online, we noticed that there were no real vegan-friendly options for my girlfriend, so in the additional comments section of the form, I indicated that we would greatly appreciate if it was possible to prepare a vegan dish. Our server took notice of the request and put together a vegan platter worth writing home about. We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some great outdoor dining with incredible views."

  • "Had an early lunch so not crowded when we arrived, but full when we left and the noise level never intruded. However, with long, narrow table, I was closer to the next table than to my dining companion, and their conversation did intrude. The food, lobster risotto, was delicious, with lots of lobster claw meat, and perfectly cooked asparagus. It also contained corn, though, which I thought detracted from the risotto itself. Chocolate ice cream with berries was a treat to savor."

  • "NOt sure I spelled that right but the dish wasn't right either. It was missing fish - mostly clams, muscles and a few shrimp in an overly-rich cream sauce. Also ordered a compressed watermelon salad - tasted great and was floating in a wathermelon soup that tasted great but no spoon so the bus boy took it away along with all our dishes before we were even sure we were done. The waiter was very professional but his face showed disappointement instead of pleasure - I mean what did he have to complain about? He has a job in the most beautiful location imaginable - watching sunsets over the pacific from the top of a mountain."

  • "Super views at the Getty Restaurant for lunch on this day. Red pepper puree was good, risotto with lobster was stuffed with meat. All went down so nicely with a glass of chardonnay."

  • "I love the view of this place. Plates were presentable, food was delicious. Service was well-timed and friendly. I definitely would return to try more dishes."

  • "We had the special lunch with wine pairings. Absolutely amazing! They also worked around our special needs because of allergies. Louie and his sidekick Louis were very attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing which was just what we needed as we closed out our vacation. Thanks for a wonderful experience!"

  • "A great place to eat if you are looking for a special meal in an extraordinary setting. Beautiful views and lots of selection on the menu. I had the short rib and it was melt-in-your-mouth. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will come back, especially when bringing visitors from out of town."

  • "It has been a tradition over the past 10 years to go to the Getty on our anniversary to see the exhibits and have lunch in the Restaurant. The food is wonderful, the service is great, and the people are friendly and warm. We always leave feeling great and looking forward to another year together and our return to the Restaurant. Fabulous. Just fabulous!"

  • "Nothing like a relaxing lunch to take you away. This view is awesome, the food quite good, and the service pleasant and prompt . This is definitely a great place to go if you want to get away and be able to converse easily in an amazing environment, Be prepared to park your car several levels down (for $15.00 - the restaurant does not validate) , take a quick elevator ride to the top and board the tram for a pleasant ride to the top. Make a left BEFORE entering the museum. Eat Relax , and Enjoy!!!"

  • "Once seated it took about 10 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge our presence and come to take a drink order and another 10-14 minutes to get the drinks. Things picked up as our drinks were well made and strong, also the appetizers and entrees were exquisite, absolutely delightful. A good portion for everything, and the taste was spot on for the pricing. I think my issue was just watching others come in after us, be served by the same waiter and given much more attention by having the waiter constantly following up with them. If you just want good food this is a great place. If you are expecting a level of service to go with it you may be disappointed. I would return to try the crab cake benedict again and if service improved."

  • "This restaurant is one of our favorite places. The food is perfection and interesting at the same time, and the waiters are wonderfully friendly and helpful without overdoing it. I always feel special when I come here to eat, and the restaurant has never disappointed me. Certain dishes I order again because they are so good, and others I try for th first time. I've never felt that I picked the wrong item. It's really a divine menu."

  • "We treated some family who are moving from the area as a special outing along with the museum visit. I have to say we would have saved a lot of $ if we had simply eaten at the cafe. The food was good, but it did not warrant the expense. I have eaten at the cafe many times. It's excellent and the ambiance is very nice just as long as you get a good seating spot. ( But no white tablecloths.) -Wendy Widell Wolff"

  • "Always a treat for lunch...a beautiful modern room with a great view, friendly staff, good food and even reasonably priced...and after lunch the museum and gardens offer food for the soul!"

  • "I have dined at The Getty Restaurant several times in the past and always enjoyed the experience. Although the food was equally good this time also, the service was wanting. After our waiter took our order he never returned to the table even though we told him that we wanted to order wine with our dinner. Immediately after we finished our appetizers our main meal was served. It must have been sitting because both entrees were luke warm. Half way through our entrees my date had to get up and go find our waiter so that we could order wine. Even though our waiter offered us a free dessert, it didn't make up for the poor service."

  • " The food and ambience were wonderdful. Our waiter was good when he came to the table, but food was slow to come out to the table and he never came by to give us an update. The bus boys were very attentive and helpful."

  • "I took a good friend of mine who has never expierenced the Getty. He really enjoyed the astomphere, food, and the sencery. He stated it was better than he expected. He really enjoyed the live entertainment in the court yard. I have to say it was my first time also eating in the restruarnt and listening to the live music. We both stated how much we would love to go back and reccommend to others. The food, wine, and service were outstanding talked about it for a couple of days."

  • "My wife and I collectively have worked in fine dining for over 36 years all over L.A. and S.F. We were blown away by the level of service, the professionalism and the delicious tasting menu we experienced under their care .We were celebrating my wife's birthday and feel it was truly special. The food combinations were spot on by Chef Matt, the wine service was top notch and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a stellar dining experience. The views are unparalleled and the operators running this establishment should be given the highest praise for making certain that it isn't a 'tourist trap that hangs its hat on their views.' Run don't walk to a food gem of L.A."

  • "The restaurant has a great view. The bouillabaisse was exceptional. The salad, bread and dessert however left much to be desired. This based on many prior visits where their quality matched that of the bouillabaisse. You had the feeling they were cutting back. I find no problem with cutting back on portions ...but think it is a mistake to cut back on quality. The waiter was less than attentive and the birthday lunch for my friend ended with someone adding ice tea to my soda. Which came as a shock to the taste buds ... but wasn't worth mentioning since we were about to leave."

  • "They got all right at the Restaurant at the Getty Center. I love to bring friends and family here for the first time. Everyone has been blown away by the food, service and the scenery. Absolutely the best place to take out-of-towners for lunch or brunch. I love the bouillabaisse. It is a unique creation of a classic dish in a nontraditional way. WOW."

  • "My friends and I met here for Sunday brunch (before touring an exhibit) and we all were very happy with the dining experience. The food was great, service was very good and friendly, and the ambience and views were perfect. Highly recommend for a special occasion but would even be good for a casual get-together with friends."

  • "My husband and I have been coming here about 2 times a year for at least 7 years, maybe more. The last few years we have included our (now) 20 year old vegetarian grand-daughter. For the first time, she was offered an interesting entrée, the gnocchi with roasted vegetables (previous years' fetucine alfredo/polenta was okay but not very exciting. My husband & I had the prix fixe "Ensor" special menu and it was outstanding! We were trying to find something to compare the meal to, and finally realized that it was the best food we have had since our KUSC Opera/gourmet tour of Northern Italy. Bravo!"

  • "A trip to the Getty is always a treat. Dining at the Museum's beautiful restaurant just enhances the experience. It's a bit on the pricey side but the food (highly recommend either the lobster risotto or the bouillabaisse) is outstanding. Service is also reliably excellent."
