We went as a spontaneous dinner
We went as a spontaneous dinner for 6 and had an amazing meal and the service was impeccable. One of the better restaurants in the area.

Food is great but not sure
Food is great but not sure why the lighting is so stark/bright. Feels like a cafeteria.

Good food in an very noisy setting
The food was excellent, and the restaurant is run by real Italians who are very friendly. I had gluten free pasta, which was very good. I would recommend and and will go back. The restaurant is very very noisy and not conducive to quiet conversations.

First Time and Back Soon
It was my first visit to Figo and I couldn't have been more pleased. Food and service were both top notch and I will surely return. My visit was a business dinner and was a smashing success, with all parties looking to return. A great option in Palo Alto for business and pleasure.

Great dinner choice!
A Friday dinner after work for two. Great location in downtown PA (on University next to the Apple Store). Very attentive service. Started with grilled calamari on bed of julienne veggie and a spinach salad. Both were excellent...You don't often find grilled calamari, this was very fresh, tasty, and done right. The salad was very good - generous portion with a tasty, warm dressing...The main course was the wood fired pizzza Diavola, which was delicious - a very tasty, thin crust with a delicate mix of sauce, cheese, and calabrrese salami, perfect for two...
A very thoughtful, and reasonable wine list, and some excellent beers...
A great option for dinner after work...If you don't want to linger, they can make it quick for you.

Delicious food - noisy place.
Food was delicious
Place is way TOO noisy, need to do some acoustic improvement to the walls to reduce the noise

The service was excellent.
The service was excellent. The rack of lamb was a little too fat for me but tasty. The actual meat was actually very small if you chose to remove the fat from the ribs. But I appreciated the attention and the service. Soup of the day was very good.

Dining at Figo in Palo Alto
We really enjoyed our meal at Figo. Food was delicious, especially the Farro and the brussel sprouts.

For an appetizer the potato
For an appetizer the potato flan never disappoints (it was a tad lukewarm though) and then we got the delish lamb and gnocchi which were both top-notch. Didn't have room for dessert but will definitely come back and try for it next time. The waitstaff was attentive and refilled water promptly. Good food with a modern vibe can be found at Figo.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Figo!
My Italian language professor at Stanford first sent out a note to his students about Figo, how delicious the food was and how warm and welcoming the people were. We went this past Saturday night and immediately became fans ourselves. Delicious, unique dishes, fantastic thin crispy pizza (mine had brussel sprouts, bacon and carmelised onions). interesting wine selection and open, inviting atmosphere. The tall ceilings and all the tile made it a bit too noisy for my taste, as the food and wine are such that you want to share them over conversation with friends. A few rugs would go a long way to solving this.
I definitely will return and bring friends. Grazie mille!

will be back again
Decided to try Figo for a late-ish lunch with a friend and was not disappointed. Food was great—we split the spinach salad and the figo pizza. Her kids sat at the table next to us...the staff was very accommodating in creating a half plain, half salami pizza to make the boys happy. It was a beautiful afternoon and the front doors of the restaurant were opened completely (we were sat near the front) and it was nice to feel the open air while we ate. My only beef, and it's a small one, is about the butter that comes with the bread...each table got ONE individually wrapped pat to share. Awkward. Should be one per person, I think. Seemed oddly stingy. Looking forward to returning for drinks and dinner sometime though!

Enjoyable, good Italian restaurant
Food is quite competent. Portions range from slightly small to generous, depending on dish. Quality of ingredients is excellent. Place gets a bit noisy when crowded, best for a couple dining. Serving staff needs more training, failed to offer grated parmesan cheese for pasta dish that could have benefited from it.

Fun place for food
I took my two friends to Figo to celebrate their bdays with a nice lunch! We Thoroughly enjoyed our pizza, Brussel sprouts and gnocchi! The waiter was patient and entertaining. He gave good suggestions and made sure we were happy throughout the meal. The outdoor seating was perfect because it was a gorgeous day! The GM also checked on us to make sure we were happy and having fun!
I have already recommended Figo to all my friends who live on the peninsula! I look forward to going back as well!

Delicious and authentic!
Marvelous southern Italian fare, but light! Pizza crust incredibly / impossibly thin--really superbly done. Had sausage/broccoli rabe pizza--wow. And asparagus gnocchi--super good--light sauce was very tasty and unusual--like olive a butter / asparagus broth. For starters the veggie tower; very nice/light. And a special for the day: the traditional grilled sardine dish (ok, not for everyone) was really super tasty and very well done with crispy veggie strips and a piece of toasty, thin, curled bread that somehow really rounded out the flavor of the fish with it's dry crunch. My dinner partner LOVED the sardine dish! Cocktails were very creative and well-done. All staff were sincerely solicitous. We will definitely be back. Try it!

Excellent food and service
We had excellent food and services. One of our waiters, Giuliana, was also impressively nice. I recommend this place strongly.

lovely lunch spot
A recent lunch at Figo was very pleasant. Garbanzo bean soup (a first for me) was a generous portion and tasty although it could have used a bit more spice (even black pepper) to add some zest. Beware the "salmon salad" does not involve greens, only grains. Fortunately, the proscuitto and mozzarella sandwichi included a green salad which made things work out. Service was just the right amount of attentive without intrusion. The sidewalk tables make for great people-watching.

Didn't expect such amazing food taste & presentation to come from this little gem in Palo Alto. We had a great time - the service was good as well. Definately worth coming back to.

Good but should be better
Our food was hit and miss. The pizza diavalo was delish but the pizza figo was dry. The octopus appetizer would have been delicious but it was under-seasoned. The lobster ravioli was not good...filling was mushy, pasta was under-cooked and hard and the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The service was fantastic though so I would like to see some changes and go back again. The pizza dough was so delicious and that is very rare in the Bay Area.

Excellent authentic Italian cuisine
Having traveled to Italy recently, I can say the food at Figo is truly authentic Italian. Service was amazing (though it sometime bordered on too frequently refilling water glasses such that it often interrupted conversation flow). The Figo oven-fired pizza was fantastic. Only down side was that prices seem a little too high. The food was excellent, but I'm not sure it was worth the price. We would frequent this restaurant more often if everything were a few dollars cheaper. Then again - Palo Alto/University Ave prices are all extremely high, so maybe that's an issue with locale as opposed to Figo.
All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

an address to remember in Palo Alto. Enjoyed the seafood pasta, liked the place. My guest was delighted.

Fine Palo Alto Italian
I had a spinach salad and the special risotto. We had a group of 7 and when we got there at 6:45 it was empty. By the time we left at 8:30 it was packed. Food was fine, nice touch was they gave all of us Limoncello on the house. It was kind of cavernous so when it got busy it was hard to hear.

Fantastic Service and Great Food
We were craving Italian food and picked this place because we've never been. I had the spaghettini. We were early for the dinner crowd so we pretty much had the restaurant all to ourselves. Our server frequently checked in to make sure everything was great. Our bread came warm and slightly toasted (love!). We ordered the 12 hr braised pork belly. So delicious! The spaghettini was amazing! I found myself going back from more bread to wipe by plate completely clean!!! "Fare la scarpetta" as our server told me....meaning to mop up all your sauce with your bread. I dropped my form midway through the meal and immediately, I had the server and another helper offer me a clean fork right away. That is great service!

Great new italian food in PA
The food was great. The mozzarella was out of this world.... must try if getting an appetizer. And Elvis, our server was awesome.

Best of Italian-American
My date and I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Figo: a gem of a new restaurant nestled in downtown Palo Alto. I had the spaghetti ai frutti di mare, which actually tasted of the fruits of the ocean! My date enjoyed her dish as well. While she generally orders chardonnay, she asked the waiter for an Italian wine equivalent and was pleasantly surprised. Public parking is convenient
right around the corner on Bryant between University and Lytton at the relatively new 5-story garage. Restaurants come and go so often in downtown Palo Alto that you really should try this one while you can.

Great, nuanced nouvelle Italian
Was here with a group of 8 for a birthday dinner and everyone really enjoyed their meal with attendees from age 9 to 80. That's a hard thing to achieve. I loved the gnochi branzino. Really outstanding. That was the lightest, most pillowy gnochi I've ever had, and the branzino fish was just delicious. We started with the burata and coppa appetizer which was mouth watering.
This the second time I've eaten here, (once lunch and now dinner) and I think the food is REALLY well prepared. The menu is interesting, and not stodgy, predictable Italian which is common in other PA eateries. Service also very pleasant and accommodating! My only recommendation is that they add some sound ceiling baffling - it's noisy with the high ceilings.

Was looking for a quick bite before heading home early on a Thursday night. Decided to try Figo, the restaurant that had replaced Pasta? Pleasantly surprised to find quite a range of pasta and antipasti. Calamari, grilled (not deep fried-ugh), good Tempranillo wine, and a delicious unusual dish of linguini with a simple garlic, olive oil and shaved tuna roe sauce. Very good. Noodles were house-made and perfectly cooked. Thumbs-up on food and service. Definitely will go back again an have already told others about it.
