I don't eat meat or poultry so I did not have the entree. I don't know what an upcoming menu is. Everything else was excellent.

We have eaten at the culinary institute at both of their locations. The food is delicious and the servers are trying so hard to please. I have loved it each time I have gone. If you want to experience very fine cooking for a good price, this is for you. The restaurants are also beautiful. Make your reservations early and limit it to 4 people. It is also fun to watch the students cooking on the tv which is also not at all intrusive. Great to take tweens to for manner teaching. Just go, you will love it!!!!! Our last lunch was only $12 including appetizer, entree, dessert and the best cappuccino that I have ever had.

excellent...we will be back
I thought the food was very well prepared and presented. The drink of the day was refreshing and tasted great, as well. Our server was a little nervous, but he did well overall. He made great effort to make us feel comfortable. Loved it!

Wonderful place gourmet food
If you want to try some great gourmet food at fast food prices, this is a charming place to go. It is a classroom setting for the local technical college and the students are testing their new skills on the public, some for the first time. It is important to remember that this is a classroom and that the patron should be patient with the teachers and students in the dining room and in the supporting kitchen. Be a sport and support your local college and have fun doing it. You won't be disappointed.

My 88 yr old mother came with me for lunch at Relish. Because of her hearing situation, I requested to be seated next to her rather than across from her the way the table was set for two. The server was very accommodating and moved the place setting for me to sit beside her. I appreciate the willingness to change to make us more comfortable. Thank you.
PS I do wish I could come more often.

An excellent meal for the price. Only $12 for a three course meal, including drinks. Menu may seem limited (4 choices per course), but it's sufficient, esp. for those who have trouble deciding what they want. The food was well-prepared, however we preferred our beef (beef souvlaki) a little more well done. Be sure to tell the server how you want the meat done. The atmosphere was light and comfortable; service was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We went in September, so there may have been a few slight server mistakes (being it was still the beginning of the students' semester) but nothing major or even worth mentioning. They all did an excellent job.

What I relish about Relish
My wife passed away nearly 2 years ago and I have been doing a lot of dining out as a result. I've tried many restaurants of which many of them are tolerable. But, Relish is one that I would patronize often as long as it meets at least the same standards that it did on my visit this time. Everything about the meal was excellent. This was a unique dining experience.

Culinary Institute's training facility...classic high end, dining for lunch or evening meals. Limited seating. Fixed price meals. Exceptional, pleasing flavors. Superb service. Video monitors and large window views of pristine kitchen and the army of workers. Staffed by students, this is an amazing experience.

This is actually a cooking and food service school. The setup and service is designed to be the best and the food was outstanding. The students cook and serve but are closely supervised by the instructors and there are even TV's with videos showing the students preparing your meals in the kitchen. Lunch did not include any alcoholic drinks, but the ginger lemonade and the cappuccino with dessert were great. Lunch is noon to 1:30, but you need to go at 1:30 because the students need to continue their classes.

fine dining and service on a budget
Support future culinary artists at a bargain. Creative, original recipes in three courses for an interesting dining experience. I'm looking forward to next time.

Great place to go with friends where you can talk and have a great meal for a great price. I love that they use table clothes and linens.

TTC Relish Room Review
The food was very well seasoned and flavorful. The wait staff was attentive and made sure that our drinks were constantly refilled.

I get to dine at Relish (previously Mikasa) at the Culinary Institute of Charleston once a semester. The type of dining changes frequently. This is the first time I have had dinner and it was a delightful experience. The students are gracious, some more enthusiastic than others and it is fun to learn about their area of expertise at the school and their goals. There are some very interesting responses.
The menu selection were all appealing and the final dishes were positively delicious. From soup to nuts - this was a great meal and one of the best deals in Cahrleston. The only thing missing was wine service!

North Charleston's best lunch
Relish is the Culinary Institute of Charleston's restaurant on TTC's Main Campus. And it's a great place to have lunch! Located in an area of Rivers Avenue with mostly chain choices, Relish has excellent freshly prepared food. It's also a great value.

I want to go back
I want to try every appetizer and every main course and desert.... that means several trips to look forward to. It's hard to rate "ambience" other than "interesting" because I don't see the opportunity to see the kitchens in most restaurants.

Best deal in town!
I love going to Relish, first of all the price is amazing. The food is very well prepared and the presentation is on spot. The wait staff (this is a class that must be taken for certificates) were simply delightful, it is so nice to see people really trying to perform good customer service. The best deal in town for sure!

The Culinary School's Relish
The Culinary School's Relish Dining Room menu changes with each semester. We have enjoyed the food which the students have prepared. Since the dining room is one of the students "classrooms," service can be unpredictable - generally is it good. Would recommend this restaurant.
