Wow, Bravas is knocking out of the park. After a shaky start they are on track to being my favorite Healdsburg spot.

Great Manhattens to compliment
Great Manhattens to compliment a great meal. The beet dish was outstanding and the best pork cheeks I've eaten!

We love all of the Stark's
We love all of the Stark's restaurants, so we were anxious to try Bravas. We were not disappointed. We dined with an experienced Tapas diner who was able to help us navigate the menu. The food ans wine were wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Excellent food for sharing.
Excellent food for sharing. We were outside and it was chilly even with heaters. Our table was on the side, so the sun shone in and made it hard to see until it went down. Inside might have been better.
Definately a place for small groups, tho the adjacent one was very noisy

Delicious Find In Healdsburg
The service and ambiance at Bravas Bar de Tapas was wonderful. The menu was fun, unique and interesting and the food did not disappoint. Some personal recommendations would be the creamy chicken croquetas - perfectly fried and full of flavor, fried duck egg (unique dish) and the cider braised chorizo (fabulous!). Definite must try in Sonoma County.

We had a group of six and ordered a wide variet of tapas items and all were excellent. The sardines and octopus were the best - perfectly prepared and the octopus was very tender.

Great selection of tapas with
Great selection of tapas with wait staff eager to provide suggestions. Some traditional and some adventurous selections. Lovely outdoor patio. Service was great. Only complaint is being served wine in a whisky tumbler (very strange for the center of the Sonoma wine district).

Worth the drive
Visiting Sonoma from the east bay we decided to cancel our 1st dining choice and drive 35 miles to check out Bravas Bar de Tapas instead. It was so worth the trip. I had read the reviews and couldn't have been more impressed. Don't expect to find paella on the menu, trust me you'll be satisfied without it. The peppers and chorizo where excellent as well as the cheese platter, jamon ibedico with toast, chicken croquettes, quail and octopus were superb. All very well presented in there own cup, bowl or on a platter. Great outside bar....very clean and cool decor. I loved the dish towel napkins and the use of the sardine can lid at the end of our meal. Great wine selection as well.

Top tier on all levels. Exciting plates and a great wine list with lots of locals. Attentive service with a sense of humor too. And three of us ate for what a great restaurant would often charge for two!

Best meal of our trip!
We ate at 12 restaurants during our recent swing through Sonoma Cty/Mendocino, and two were head & shoulders above the rest. One was Hole In The Wall/Sebastopol,a tiny cafe, and the other was Bravas. Just off the Square, it's the newest and by far the best of the Stark Grp restaurants. The beets with Ceylon cinnamon were phenomenal, as was a robust skirt steak and mild creamy chicken croquettes. Bacalhao a touch salty but delicious. Octopus was an austere, sophisticated dish that we loved, but the cephalopod-challenged should stick to the more approachable seafood dishes, like the shrimp or mussels. Great service, wonderful outdoor patio! Note no espresso drinks at Bravas; they are 1 block from Flying Goat, however.
5/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
The scallops were excellent, the sardine was excellent, even the pig ears were great. Skip the calamari, but don't skip the potatoes! Never thought you would order dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon? They were delicious!
Just go, relax, and let the staff guide you! We had a great time and a great lunch!

We had lunch at Bravas, in Healdsburg, over Memorial Day weekend; in fact, it was our primary reason for driving 45 minutes so we could sample their food. The wine list is excellent, with interesting sounding cocktails and good Spanish wines. Service was friendly, prompt and professional, but laid back as befits a garden setting. The seared scallions in Romesco sauce were exceptional, and the dates stuffed with blue cheese with a Balsamic glaze were decadent. We also liked the Manchego cheese and Iberico Ham bocadillos and, of course, the patatas bravas. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and happily go back again.

Who knew in Healdsberg?
Bravas captures the essence and substance of excellent tapas bars in Spain. Each dish is carefully and faithfully rendered and unique to its food and traditional preparation: Crispy, spicy Patatas Bravas, Pork Belly Bocadillios, Sardines smothered in olive oil and garlic; and outstanding Octopus with olives in brine with grilled lemon to name a few.
Noise level could be dampened to improve ambience. Sangria needs work; Spanish wine list could be improved. Otherwise excellent. A Must Go!

A little bit of Spain in Healdsburg
We just returned from Spain, and I would compare Bravas favorably to the best tapas we had there. Great authentic selections made with fresh local ingredients, and excellent cocktails to go with them. Specialty gin and tonics are the rage in Barcelona and Bravas makes excellent ones.

Stark's Tapas Restaurant BIG HIT
Very interesting menu and great many things to select. Wait staff particularly helpful. Will definitely return.

Hidden Gem in Healdsburg
Found them on Open Table - made last minute Monday lunch reservation. *No one* there at high noon. Wondered if we should try it after all. Glad we did! They have a fabulous outdoor dining area and bar in the back. The server and the hostess offered some nice advice on which and how many tapas to order. We really enjoyed them all...the cheese, onion and truffle honey toasts were my fave. Wine list features local wineries and Spanish wines as well. It was charming and delicious. I think it would be a great place to come back to for happy hour on a Thursday or Friday as well. Go for a culinary adventure, and enjoy the excellent ambience as well. We did! Will be back soon...

Espana in Sonoma
Bravas Bar de Tapas is outstanding. The small plates were all prepared in the Spanish style and brought us back to our past visits to Spain. The Patatas Bravas were as good as in Madrid. Our server, Leslie, was outstanding in her expanations of the dishes and recommendations. She recommended that we order bread with our steamed clams to soak up the juices and it was a recommendation that was invaluable. The clams were superb; but, dipping the bread in the juices made it memorable. The restaurant is warm with lounge, dining areas and a fireplace. Seating is cozy, private and quite romantic. Every plate we had was wonderful and provided great value. Leslie guided us on our tour de tapas with attentiveness; but, let us set the pace. Wonderful!

I love Starks group
This is probably my least favorite restaurant of their group, but it was very good nonetheless. This place is more about the drinks than the food. The food is good but more bar-menu-esque.

Nicely appointed place off
Nicely appointed place off the main square of Healdsburg. Interesting, well-prepared tapas. Professional service. Definitely coming back to try more stuff soon!
6/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
Everything was fantastic! Well, I personally would have liked a bit more seasoning on the Pig Ears, but otherwise every morsel was stellar! I especially liked the Cremini Mushroom Escabeche and the Escalivada (roasted veggies on scrumptious toast.)

The whole package
We've been there 4 times, twice sitting out back. The service has been outstanding, with the right blend of being personable, knowledgeable, and timely. The food often brings unexpected blends of spices and sauces, all yielding a want for more. It is a fun experience.

Bravas is Fun
Had a really fun time. Good food, good wine, ate outside. All the Tapas were excellent.

We loved this restaurant.
We loved this restaurant. The croquettes were the best we have ever had! We will definitely eat here again if we visit Healdsburg in the future.

Excellent as always
Though I've only lunched at Bravas Bar de Tapas three times, each time was excellent -- the food wonderful, the service friendly and good, the ambiance (patio) wonderful. The meals there have been fun, exciting, unusual and yummy. I've introduced a couple of friends to this experience, and they loved it as well. Definitely a soul (and stomach) satisfying thing to do!
7/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
we really enjoyed the food
we really enjoyed the food and outdoor patio. We thought spanish music would enhance the experience instead of rock and roll. Also the patate brava would be better if the aoili was on the side for dipping instead of drenched on top of the most perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside potatoes.
The garlic bread served with our roasted eggplant and peppers had too much oil on it.
7/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great Little Find
Kid friendly. Dog friendly. Great place to spend a sunny afternoon sipping Spanish rose' and noshing on some delicious tapas. Really had a great time.

This was a friendly establishment
This was a friendly establishment with a great patio, accommodating staff, and with one exception, excellent food. The wine list was reasonably priced, and overall it was a lovely experience. I would definitely go back.

First time at this restaurant
While we love Willie's seafood also Wine bar this was our first at this Stark's restaurant. We sat on the patio which was delightful, the food was excellent also served by a very good and knowledgeable waitress. Every dish was good with a feeling of Spanish cuisine.

Tapas in the Wine Country
Everything about this place is great. The food is different and very good. The waiters are really knowledgeable about the menus and friendly. The outdoor seating is wonderful. This is a must return place.

Excellent as always!
Bravas has become my go-to place for quick get togethers with friends, to show off our town/food to visitors, and to just relax, eat well, and be treated extra-specially well. Whether we're in the mood to hang out and gab, or need to eat and run, this is the place. The service is beyond outstanding, it is spectacular, and the staff is genuinely interested in making the visit wonderful. The food, well, is extraordinary. Can't say enough good things!

Late Night Bites
Bravas is a great restaurant for light bites and fabulous drinks.
9/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
I had lunch last Thursday at Bravas Bar de Tapas with two friends. It was my first time to eat here, and I loved it! It is small plates, and we ordered 5 small plates for the 3 of us. Since it was a very nice sunny day, we ate outside. We each had a red Sangria drink to start, then Tostada with white truffles & honey, Tortilla Espanola, Pork Cheeks, Monterey Calamari, & Dungeness Crab Fideua.
To finish they brought me a Stras Family Organic Vanilla Soft Serve Goats milk with Carmel & Sea Salt for my birthday. We all shared it. So Good!
Their prices are not bad, and our server was very polite and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone and I can't wait to return.

Visiting from Philly. Highly recommended by many folks at the wineries. Franklin, our server, was amazing. He had some great suggestions for us. We had the clams, chicken croquettes, escarole salad, duck meatballs, goat cheese tostada, a must get, potatas bravas, broccoli rabe, scallops, goat milk caramel ice cream at the end. Also, unique and beautiful cocktail menu. We had been drinking wine all day, so we didn't really look at the wine list, but I'm sure it's spot on. Don't hesitate. Gooooo!
9/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Restaurant was very nice.
Restaurant was very nice. Every item we ordered was good, but soaked in oil. Just not to our taste. Did like the goat cheese tostada a lot, anyway. Service was very good, and ambience was very enjoyable, on a Sunday afternoon.

Relaxing afternoon with a friend
Recently my daughter and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with her piano teacher. A farewell party as my daughter is going off to college.
We wanted something special and that's what we had at Bravas. Our farewell was lovely. Until next time!
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
A very pleasant afternoon
A very pleasant afternoon with Spanish tapas done Sonoma style. Try one of the bocadillos! The wine list doesn't quite match the weight of the cuisine, but has some nice picks. Service is casual, but it seems to fit.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
A Great Find!
We enjoyed our meal at Bravas thoroughly. The food was truly fantastic. In fact, we were so impressed that I asked to speak to the Manager. I said to him, "This food is as good as the food at the French Laundry". He replied, "That's because our Chef worked at the French Laundry for 7 years"!! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant soon.
9/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Beautiful setting, good food
Went for a late lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon and sat on the lovely patio. Had an assortment of tapas a few which were very good (watermelon salad, beet salad) while others were good, but in some cases a bit overly salty (chicken thigh, scallop). All dishes were beautifully presented and the service was top notch. Did not have the paella but saw the table next to ours and it looked very good.

Bravo for Bravas
My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Bravas and we had a wonderful meal, great service and they gave us our dessert for free for the occasion. The back porch was a great quiet place to sit and talk and enjoy the evening. We will definitely go back but this time sharing the meal with friends.
10/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Bravas is always a nice dining experience. Excellent wine and cocktails and small plates. Try the padron
peppers with chorizo - Awesome!
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great outdoor patio
Excellent selection of small plate items. It was fun to put together a dinner of small and medium sized items to share. The octopus was great and so were the papas bravas - although there was too much aioli on them. Our waiter took a long time to bring us our drinks, but the food items came in a timely manner. There are two bars one inside the house style restaurant and a large one outside on the big patio. There are heat lamps outside so it is pleasant to sit outside even when it's a bit cool. It's a fun place and nice to have a new choice in Healdsburg.
10/7/2013 5:00:00 PM
Wish I lived closer!
This is the place to go if you're looking for tasty bites of creative and well-prepared dishes that you wouldn't normally prepare at home. We sat on the back porch under a super-efficient heater and had a great time. Terrific service, well-chosen wine list that wasn't over-priced. If I lived nearby, I'd visit the 3-walled bar in the backyard on a regular basis!
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Perfect evening out with family
Having a place to suit everyone's taste is not always easy to find. Bravas was able to keep everyone in my family happy by offering a variety of foods for each to sample. Great way to test out a new food when there's just a small amount to eat.
10/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
The assortment of food for the tapas was fantastic. It also has a good wine list. I would suggest only ordering a plate or two at a time, otherwise the plates arrive too quickly
10/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great back patio! Very authentic
Great back patio! Very authentic Spanish tapas: Pan con Tomat, Pigs Ears, and Coquettes. Not as impressed with the Riblets but overall a very enjoyable dining experience. Great service, too.

Well executed Restaurant
Went here for an anniversary. Service was friendly and food was great. Had a well put together aesthetic look. In addition, the price was very reasonable for what we got in return. Overall, a very well exectuted restaurant. I would highly recommend if you're in the Healdsburg area
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
Love Bravas especially the Ham and Cheese sandwich with truffle paste, grilled octopus Great outdoor patio for bringing your dog with you.,
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Had a great time; surprising value
Great food, great service, (Yo, our waiter, was outstanding), and a surprising value.
For four of us, and we ate a lot of dishes and chose to steer clear of the Paella in order to try more dishes, came to just under $200 with three cocktails, one Sherry and corkage on two bottles of wine.
I'd put it right up there with Willi's Wine Bar.
We will return when not raining to check out the patio.
