Not a Sawdust Joint!
This is NOT a steakhouse although they do serve steaks. It's fine dining in a semi-casual atmosphere. Food was perfect and I never pass up a Chocolate Mousse if it's on the menu. It is here! Many items are prepared tableside and our spinach salad was tossed with made from scratch at the table, Bacon dressing. This was GREAT!!! Thanks to everyone who served us so expertly. Special thanks to Mark. You did dang good!!

Sage Room is always a great
Sage Room is always a great place to get a pricey, but worth it, meal. Love all the table side service you can get for salads, steaks and deserts.

We go every year to celebrate
We go every year to celebrate and are never disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious, the service warm, friendly and efficient. We look forward to visiting every year and if we're ever in town, we'd make another reservation!

Sage Room Harveys South Lake Tahoe
The Sage Room is a New York style steakhouse. The service beginning with the hostess was excellent. Steak Diane was prepared table side and was a great show. The noise level was high but that reflected the next table as really enjoying themselves. Expensive but first class.

Lake Tahoe Winner!
This was a superb meal! It was the best meal I've ever had in Lake Tahoe over 50 years of visits. The sevice was excellent.
I had escargots - the garlic butter could not be wasted - so little pieces of bread were used to absorb the liquid.
The Chateaubriand for two was delicious. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, tender and flavorful.
The lava chocolate-chip cupcake with ice ceam was the perfect ending to this exquisite meal.

Sage Room never disappoints!
My sister and I went for a small dinner before seeing a show at Harrah's. We had Caesar salad, French Onion soup, and finished with Bananas Foster. You really can't pass any of those up. The French Onion soup is some of the best I've ever had.

Sag Room - Tahoe
Several reviews were correct. A bit hard to find in the Casino. Noise was a bit higher than I would expect for this level of restaurant. The service was above average but again I expect that I do not have to poor my own wine for this level. Also the steaks were good but a bit "stringy". I certainly could never see even a single Michelin star awarded and for $45 a steak and $90 to start for wine I expect more. Not bad, just not what I would expect for the price.

First Time At Sage Room
We had a very good meal at the Sage Room. Shrimp Scampi was delicious, onion soup was one of the best we have ever had. Steaks were good, although i have had better New York cuts elsewhere. My husband got the Steak Diane, which he enjoyed. Only issue of the evening was dessert. We ordered Creme Brule. We were then asked if we wanted berries on top and said yes.. When the bill came, they had charged an ADDITIONAL $11.75 for the berries. We dine out often, and have never experienced an upcharge such as this -- an "add-on" that costs more than the item itself.

Fine Dining in a Casino
Had a lovely meal at the Sage Room at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. The room was noisier than I remembered. Beef Wellington was as good as I remembered. Loved having our Ceasar salad made tableside!
Had indicated on our Open Table reservation and also told the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday and was very disappointed that our waiter did not acknowledge it until my husband had to go find him and remind him.

We made reservations for our 30th wedding anniversary and it was everything and more! The atmosphere was dark, romantic and cozy. The service was enjoyable and the food was fabulous! We started with the spinach salad for 2 which our waiter prepared for us at our table, what a treat that was and delicious too. Our main course was the Chateaubriand which was prepared perfectly and came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was outstanding. Next time we are in Tahoe we look forward to dining there again!

Not your average tourist trap
Great experience for a traveler! Best prime in I've had in a while! Best house wine! A real treat for a countrywide traveler! Best of our 7000 mile journey so far! A real surprise! Did not think a Lake Tahoe dining experience could be like Manhattan! Definitely a gem in such a remote location! The owner should be proud to have such a great place in this location!

The food and service was very good. Prices were on the high end, but the steaks very good and cooked to perfection.

My husband and I went to the Sage Room while staying at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe. The food was amazing but be ready to pay for a nice meal. I had the New York steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus and my husband had the 16 oz. Prime Rib with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. With drinks and an appetizer (an ok soft shell crab) the total came to about $175. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and it really has an old fashioned style. Its also smoke free inside which is wonderful especially when you're trying to enjoy the food and wine! Would go back for sure

I actually sent the staff a letter
I had to take the time this morning to tell you about last night. My experience at the Sage room last night was flawless. Impeccable.
Often 1 or 2 courses at a restaurant are excellent...but last night, everything was excellent.
Perfect martini's, Teddy and Eddie our waiter and busboy, Escargot with San Francisco quality French bread prepared just right, Grgich Hills Zinfandel that was spot on, Caesar salad light but flavorful, a ribeye cooked to perfection and then crème brulee.
Really, it was a memorable evening. My favorite restaurant in Nevada use to be Bimini's at the Peppermill. Move over Bimini's.

The most Constance 5star restaurant
I've been visiting Lake Tahoe for 35 years and the Saga Room has been the most consitance 5 star restaurant that hasn't change, as most in the gambling world do every 5 years this one should never change!!!

My new favorite steak house!
My husband and I had one of the nicest meals here. It is very dark and romantic. Everything that we ate was amazing. I had the steak Diane cooked table side. So delicious! The staff was so nice. What a great dinner!

I haven't been to the Sage Room in years. This was my husband's first time. All I can say is it was fabulous...romantic...yummy! I had the ribeye and he had the filet. The food and service was excellent. If you like onion soup, then you need to try this because it was the best we've had. Our steaks were served with a baked potato with all the fixings...it was cooked perfectly! We're going back again next month! A little pricey but oh so worth it.

An Unchanged Classic
We booked dinner for our anniversary at the Sage Room on November 16 as a special treat. We have been going to the Sage Room since the 80's. The food is always dependably well prepared. The prime rib was melt in your mouth perfection and doneness; mine rare, my husband's medium rare. The Caesar salad prepared table side could have been a meal in itself. Thankfully, this establishment hasn't given in to trendy splash in the pan dishes. It has kept it's wonderful French onion soup, Caesar salad, prime rib and filet menus as is over the years.
Service is promote and attentive. Management actively participates and keeps things on track and moving. Location is in a casino but you would never know that once you are in the room.

Sage at Tahoe
The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. Great food choices for all tastes. The wine list is not wonderful, saw many tables bring their own. Service is impeccable without being overbearing.

Another Great Meal!
Six of us had a great time and all our meals were excellent!! No dessert but a few tried the venetian coffee after dinner. A little pricey but well worth the preparation and taste.
