Dining Out For Life=Kits Bistro Gem
A bustling French Bistro where they greet you with an aperitif. Our Appetizers of escargot and scallop carpaccio were delish. I enjoyed filet steak with peppercorn sauce and my friend had the seafood vol au vent. The food was grrreat! The ambience and service were top notch. I will definitely return. Cheers Mar

I loved La Regalade in West
I loved La Regalade in West Vancouver and was delighted to find Bridget's new place - with a great menu. Very busy which shows that it has beenwell accepted in Kits. The food was so delicious as usual - will be back!!

Four of us went to La Cigale
Four of us went to La Cigale for their special Tuesday night roast suckling pig dinner. We all ordered the $30.00 prix fixe menu ( offered Sunday to Thursday) which consisted of an appetizer, a main and a dessert. There were numerous choices for each of the three courses. Two of us ordered the Vichyssoise for the appetizer and the duck confit on sauteed garlic potatoes for the main. The other two ordered the white bean and pork soup as the appetizer and the roast suckling pig for the main. We each had a different dessert. The portions were substantial and we all tasted everything. We were in agreement that each of the courses was superb and that the meal was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return!!

First time there at this former
First time there at this former Bistrot Bistro location. The food was superb, way above my expectation! The special Seafood Vol au Vent was just wonderful. Staff were very friendly, humorous and efficient. It will definitely be on my regular restaurants to visit list!

We were pleasantly surprised
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the menu, the food, and the service at Crave. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday a great experience.

Great food, service, and good value
Don't give many 5s but our experience here was great. The service went above and beyond. The food was very good (couple of small blips so gave 4). Brought our own wine and, with $25 corkage, they were fine (no corkage Tuesdays though, hello! I'll be back just for that!). We had the charcuterie appy and all was very good - high quality cheeses and meats. Friend had short rib entree in an au poivre sauce - very good (although could have been slightly more tender). I went prix fixe and it was excellent value. I started with the soup (sweet pea and bacon). Wasn't my fav but was well done. Duck confit was great. Creme brulee just slightly overcooked. The bit of choc mousse they gave me was tops, though! Will go back soon.

There was road construction
There was road construction during our lunch which created a less than desirable ambiance, but that would only be for a limited time, and the food, service and atmosphere is delightful - so worth that slight inconvenience.

Michelle our server was excellent.
Michelle our server was excellent. She was able to explain the wine list and make suggestions. The food was excellent as well. This was the first time I had taken this friend to the restaurant and she liked the food but thought it was small portions for the price.

Lovely Saturday Brunch
A group of friends, lovely French presse coffee, delicious bread with jam or tapenade; that's just the start!
The restaurant was empty when we arrived on a Saturday at 11 and unfortunately remained so, with the exception of one other couple in for lunch. I hope that's not a regular occurrence! Our server was friendly, personable & efficient and had done enough sampling to be able to recommend dishes to suit each palate. The eggs on the various Benedicts were perfectly cooked to order ( I cannot abide ANY runny white!). Each entree came with a small green salad in a light but flavorful dressing. The kitchen slices nice, thick rashers if bacon which were perfectly cooked. All in all, a delicious, pleasant dining experience.

A wonderful place to come for some delicious French dishes. A great prix-fixe dinner menu for only $30. Can't be beat. Their specials on the board all sound so appetizing it was hard to decide on a dish. The scallop carpaccio was excellent! Had to come back and ordered a takeout the next night to bring home. Pâté was raved over and so were the escargots.

My friends and i had a fantastic meal. The new interior is a lot warmer than the previous restraunt
Bistro Bistro. Having no corkage fee when you bring your own wine is a fantastic idea of which othe places
should do the same. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

Very good in Kits
This new-ish rest aurant has quite good food, a small but nice selection of wines, both by the bottle and by the glass, and outstanding service. The owner is never far away, as she walks around keeping an eye on everything and getting involved in a good way. The servers are professional and knowledgeable.

Very Sincere Restaurant Owner
Food is good. I went there for lunch and asked for their $30 menu I saw on their website, but found out that the menu is only available for dinner. I was glad that the owner could accomodate me on my request. A very satisfying lunch.

Very worthy of a visit
Friendly patrons, attentive service, authentic menu items. The halibut was marvelous. The lapin's sauce was a bit too salty, otherwise the meal was perfection. A little crowded with the table spacing, but the atmosphere was pleasant.

We enjoyed the complementary
We enjoyed the complementary cheese straws, beet salad, pork tenderloin and duck confit with pommes de terre Salardaises (delicious, though I probably exceeded my fat requirement for at least a week). The atmosphere was welcoming and lively on a busy Sunday evening, and service was good.

Great French bistro!
We went to La Cigale twice during our stay in Vancouver. We really loved the prix-fixe menu and the no-corkage fee on Tuesday. Great find!

Great addition to the neighbourhood
A vibrant atmosphere, no background noise (i.e. "music") just the buzz of conversation - a welcome change! The staff are mostly French, adding to the bistro feel. The restaurant was full, but our attentive waiter indulged my desire to speak French while at the same time including my less fluent companion in our conversation. We split an endive salad - delicious with a perfectly balanced dressing - and the house pate, a true pate de compagne, accompanied by baguette, small green salad, cornichons & mustard. Our surprisingly large New York steaks were each cooked exactly as ordered, though swimming in a mediocre peppercorn sauce. A side of frites was perfection. Note vegetables are extra. Still good value, $116 for 2 inc.bottle of wine.

I loved it all. My meal was delicious, and large! I had to take half of it home.

They open the windows on W. 4th Ave so that it feels like you are eating outdoors. Good food & service.

Superb French bistro!
Tarte Chanterelles to die for!!! Rich, creamy and earthy ... just needs a small side of salad to cut the richness!

Great for a nice casual meal.
Good food at a good price.

It was the first time at La Cigale and my hubby and I loved i!
First of all, the servors speak French! 100% French (they speak English too!!). It makes the restaurant authentic!
The food was yummy. My hubby had his best halibut ever!! I really felt we were in France for the time of a dinner!
L'Ambiance was good! We will be back for another date for sure (not a restaurant for kids I think)

A real french cuisine
An authentic taste of different french region, nice french wine selection too, at reasonable price.

Classic French Bistro
Other commenters have suggested this isn't a classic French bistro. Having been to France many times, I'm baffled as to what a French bistro then ought to look like. Either way, the food is very good and the wait staff enjoyed being there. We found the service just fine. The wine list is a bit light and without a cooler, the red wine was a bit warm. Much the same as La Regalade, the portions are huge - two appies would have done just fine or skip an appetiser and head straight to the main course. We'll be back.

We were there for lunch and it wasn't very crowded so after we ordered we were surprised at how long the food took to come. When it arrived we realized the delay was because everything seems to be made fresh. The food was piping hot and delicious. Best quiche Lorraine we have had. It was worth the wait!
