I have been wanting to try
I have been wanting to try La Sosta Enoteca for years and was delighted to finally have the opportunity, it was fantastic!

Great local italian. A bit
Great local italian. A bit pricey. Christiano is a fantastic waiter. The service is great but not fast. Be ready to drink good wine and relax. Its a little trip to Italy.

You can't bring your own bottle
You can't bring your own bottle of wine, not even with a corkage fee. That is one of the things I love about California. Diners can bring their own wine to accompany their meal either for free, or pay a corkage. Not here!
The atmosphere is excellent but it gets loud and often, steamy hot in there. The veggies on the table to start are a good idea. The charcuterie was good but boring. There were no surprise treats that one would expect from an excellent chef. The quality was excellent, but the selection was "local grocery store" except for the truffle-honey. The honey was unique. I like the small portion sizes but for the price, many people would expect more. If you like profiteroles, they are delicious here.

Overall, the food was good
Overall, the food was good but a little over priced for certain selections. The Tagliatelle al vitello, homemade fettuccine with veal sauce, and the rack of lamb were amazing. However, I was disappointed with the scallops I ordered. The cheese and meat plate imported from Italy was very good but as some other reviewer mentioned the truffle honey was the most notable item on the board. The wait staff were on point, came when needed but weren't hovering over your table. The space is small and intimate so at times it can feel cramped when busy. The wine list was very nice and our waiter helped our table pick out great bottle that complimented everyone's dish. Will go back but will consider ordering dinner as small plates and sharing.

Way too expensive and they
Way too expensive and they don't allow you to bring you own wine which is not smart so therefore we didn't order as much food as we wanted. And they didn't have Barolo by the glass and the least expensive bottle was $110. So for that reason I will not go back. But food was good.

When we got there they were
When we got there they were running late. They immediately offered outside seating, but we passed on that, and they offered prosecco instead, and even seconds. Once we were seated at the amazing table at the front window, the staff made sure to get our orders out to us fast to make up for lost time. The service was incredible. With the delay in seating, it could of turned into a bad experience, but they instead took the opportunity to make it an incredible one. Thank you!

We loved our experience at
We loved our experience at La Sosta Enoteca. We live just a few blocks away and had passed by many times, but had never had dinner their before. The food was delicious - we had proscuitto and burrata as an anti pasta, shared spaghetti with manilla clams as our primi and each had the sea bass - everything was perfect. The ambiance is simple, chic and romantic. The service was terrific. It was our anniversay and we were extremely happy to have celebrated it together at La Sosta Enoteca.

Love this place!
The atmosphere is the the best in LA. It's candle lighting makes you feel relaxed the moment you enter. It's small and quaint, great for dates, couples, friends eating out... The food is great, very authentic Italian, great wine selection and excellent wait service make it an exceptional dinning experience! PS: don't forget the profiteroles!! So good!!

All around great
Food was excellent. Although I don't drink, everyone around me was, and said the wine list is excellent. Service was awesome.

Great food and Service, but pricey
The cheese/meat board is to die for! We loved the pasta dishes, but they dont have enough pasta. They are by far the smallest pasta entrees ever (for 30 dollars). The wine list is long and all Italian.

I love this place!! Really interesting... Not your average Italian menu. Service is attentive and knowledgable. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit and it turned out to be a special restaurant. The atmosphere is quaint and comforting. The service was attentive and the food was unique with attention to special preparation and presentation. The prices were a bit high, so the comparisons have to be made against the best restaurants in LA. In that regard, it was good but not amongst the very best. For the South Bay, it ranks high. We enjoyed the understated mood of the restaurant and we're pleasantly surprised by the complimentary little truffles we were given after not ordering dessert. We'll go back...

The food was fantastic - I
The food was fantastic - I ordered scallops and loved them. We got a fantastic bottle of wine and the waiter was very helpful. My husband and I found the atmosphere to be very romatic. My only complaint is that it was pretty loud when we first arrived. If you were at a table of 4-6 people, it might be hard to hear other people.

Spectacular Gem in Hermosa Beach
La Sosta is a neighborhood gem at it's best, neslted into a corner of Hermosa Beach. The owner/chef has created a spectacular menu and a perfect little place to eat an outstanding Italian meal with friends. The restaurant feels like a little house a million miles away from LA. The special cheese/meat board with tuffle oil infused honey is an amazing treat and a perfect way to set your meal in motion. 100% recommend this spectacular gem!

One of the Best!
My wife and I appreciate fine dining as a mainstay of our relationship, and have eaten at some of the finest restaurants. This is one of the best restaurants we've had the pleasure of spending time together, and for Italian food it is THE best.
You won't get mountain-size plates of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic-cheese twists here, but if you truly appreicate the art of fine Northern Italian food, then there is really no other place we would recommend.
The gnocchi and the scallop dishes are incredible and my personal favorites, but everything we've had there is spectacular.

Food was better than I expected,
Food was better than I expected, actually it was outstanding. Hadn't been there in a couple years. What keeps me away is that they don't allow you to bring your own wine which is very disappointing.

A touch of romance
Whenever I think of love, I think of Italy, and whenever I think about Italy, I think about La Sosta Enoteca. A hole in the wall in an unlikely spot, but magic inside. So romantic. It never disappoints.

Evening of Romance

My Fav Italian Restaurant in LA
I've been going to La Sosta for years. Love this place. Everything from service, atmosphere, to food and wine is stellar. I'm Italian--and super picky about food. This place never disappoints. Just took a new friend there Saturday night--he loved it! He gets "Italian" now. And I always walk away with a new wine to add to my collection.
Definitely try the cutting board with the truffle honey...one of my most favorite things in the world...

An amazing find, that just made a wonderful night perfect. Food was delicious, the staff professional, knowledgable, passionate about making it a unique fun experience. Can't wait to go back.

Best Italian in Town
Just a great restaurant for a special occasion. Great wine list and they've been great about giving recommendations when necessary. Items I've gotten that I've loved include a cutting board of meats and cheeses, the lobster gnocchi, the scallops, and the tiramisu

Greatest Italian rest. in South Bay
Luca never seems to fail. His northern Italian / Venetian menu is just awesome: Spaghetti all Bottarga and Branzino are always the best. Highly recommended.

We'll be back!
As always we were very happy with our dinner at La Sosta. The food is made fresh and reminds us of meals we had in Venice, Itlay. This is not a place for people in a hurry as things are carefully prepared and not pre-cooked. Chef Luca was a runner-up on Chopped and I think he might have been victorious if the time was not so limiting.
