The menu was very unique but the waiter gladly explained it all. We all ordered something different and tried several things. Every item was excellent. We were there for 2 celebrations in the family and they brought out 2 free cakes and candles. They made the experience amazing. I would recommend anyone to go here

First visit with a good friend. Great competent service. Wonderfully delicious food served quickly and in a unique display. The best resteraunt experience I have had in a long time.

Went for dinner with our kiddo. Duck fries are incredible! Server said the scallops were "the best ever" and I ordered the Brie as an entree. They do NOT have a children's menu and the server didn't understand what we wanted for our kiddo; one of the apps is like a grilled cheese so I asked if they could just make a basic grilled cheese for us. She said yes- but out came the full app smothered with non-kid-friendly ingredients. We sent it back and they made us a new one. However, they still charged us for the full price without bringing the soup goes with it.
We would go back, but sans kiddos. It's just not child-friendly. Scallops are tasty but not the "best ever." Brie was small even for an app. Dessert portion was too small for the $$.

Food was amazing for a group that likes to have their taste buds excited! Fun and trendy restaurant on a Friday night. Only thing making this a perfect evening was the service. Once we placed our drink and food choices, we never saw the waitress again. Took a while to ask for our check and then even longer to run the card. Will visit one more time to see if the service/waitress was just a fluke experience.

Searsucker is an awesome new restaurant. We ordered a bunch of their small plates and shared. DELISH! Ambiance was beautiful and service was wonderful. Thanks!

Belated Birthday Special
Was the first time we had been there, so was a little apprehensive about going for a special occasion "untested". The ambience is very "clean" & modern. Our server, Janie, was amazing. We had many menu questions and she was so knowledgeable & patient in responding, not to mention VERY friendly. With 4 of us, we had a variety of food..,spicy shrimp & grits, beef tartare & cobb salads to start...all to-die-for. For entrees we selected the halibut, loin filet, diver scallops and seared tuna & three sides - potato, Brussels & cauliflower. Everyone raved about their dishes. My tuna was a little bland which could have been helped if the sauces served had been more flavorful to compensate. Overall we were not disappointed & we'll be back!!

Loved the evening
Had a great overall experience, hostess allowed us to finish out drinks at the bar area before seating us. Food was great tasting.

Great food, slow service
My wife and I happened across searsucker, and we were not disappointed. The food was awesome, and they had quite the selections of small plates (appetizers). We want to go back just to have the opportunity to try all of them. We did have three, which were all good. We shared the tomahawk ribeye, which was delicious! And we had a couple sides as well. No complaints about the food at all. The service was a little slow. Not to the point where it was irritating, but it was noticeable. Our server seemed to have tables at opposite ends of the restaurant, but she still did a good job. All in all, we will be back!

First time here. Dined early
First time here. Dined early so there was no crowd. I had Brie, chicken and waffles and fries-all small plates. My wife had the entree duck. All was very, very good.
Def will return.

New York City, Trendy Feel
Amazing atmosphere with incredible service. Very interesting menu. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the mahi, but I'm sure others will be. I didn't like it because it was like a huge steak and slimy in the middle. Not enjoyable, like when I've has it served thinner. My husband has the lamb chops and said they were "incredible"!

Searsucker is great
This was a very good experience. It did not seem "corporate" at all. Service was excellent.

Great restaurant; fun menu
The food here was great. They also have a great bar/liquor/wine menu. We really enjoyed the small plate selections and the pork belly and eggs was the best thing we ate. The scallops, hanger steak and lamb were also well cooked and delicious. The only word of warning I would give future diners is that we had two in our party with birthdays. One of our diners mentioned his birthday in front of the waitress. A few minutes later they brought a birthday dessert for both people. We though how nice that was until we go the bill and they had charged us $5 per birthday dessert, which we hadn't ordered nor were we informed we would be charged. We feel that was not appropriate. Otherwise we loved this place and would return.

Interesting menu. Good service. Best brussel sprouts I've ever eaten!

Great find! Perfect for sharing.
My coworker and I loved this restaurant. We went on a Tuesday and certain bottles of wine were half off. We shared a salad with prosciutto, melons and balsamic. It was fabulous and a perfect size to share. We shared a few small plates; the pork belly, bone marrow, and ahi tuna tartare with caviar. We finished by sharing the rum and coke dessert. Everything was excellent quality and flavor. We loved it because we were able to try foods we normally wouldn't and it was all so good. We will definately go back if we go back to Phoenix.

Worth The Drive
My husband and I normally stay in North Scottsdale for date-night but we wanted to try something new. We were very pleased with our choice and it was definitely worth the trek downtown. The menu had so many choices and everything we had was super delicious. I highly recommend the Shrimp app and the Halibut main dish. I'm not a big desert person but since all of the other food was great we decided to try the Ranndy Jackson sundae - all I have to say is YUM! We will definitely be back!

A very pleasant experience
I appreciated the atmosphere is a little eclectic, industrial and rustic at the same time. I had the refreshing mojito-like 'Snake in the Grass' cocktail of Gin, mint, lime and soda, and then started with the Kobe carpaccio which was light and tasty although just a tad bit underseasoned for my taste (a little pepper did the trick). My entree didn't blow my mind probably because I was just in the mood that night for 'meat and potatoes', so I had the filet (grilled perfectly, and paired with a lobster/cognac sauce), and the silky butter potatoes. While the execution was perfect, and it was a very good steak and mash, I just regret not being a little more adventuresome.

What is not to like?
When ever I want to have amazing service, great food, and not be rushed I always come here. I will admit, I'm probably the biggest fan! That being said, I am a fan because they do not fail to deliver. There maybe the occasional 'hiccup' but the staff will literally drop what they are doing to fix anything that is not making you smile. My dining partner, a long time resident of Scottsdale, had never heard of 'my' place. She was duly impressed, not only with the food, but the atmosphere and the attention we received. Albeit, being a regular, I am spoiled by the staff and management. She had arrived slightly before me, and was treated like royalty, even before the server knew she was dining with me. I believe you now have another fan!
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Service here was excellent, friendly, quick, and professional and an all-hands team-approach
Adjust your expectations for a slight amount of extra dining time since the chefs are quality-focused not production-focused
Great selection of dishes that changes daily, unique combinations in various small plates, main entrees, and desserts
Very nice room, music complimented the environment and low key, noise level was low even though it is an open dining room
The open kitchen is far enough from the tables to intrigue you with anticipation but not annoy with clatter, etc
Budget $150 a couple and that should cover several starters, entrees, a round of drinks, and a dessert

Holy Cow, that was Wow
If you are overly hungry and are looking for somewhere to go for great food amount bang for the buck, this isn't your place. If you are ready to possibly sacrifice a mortgage payment in return for some of the best-tasting food portions ever, Searsucker is a must. Servers were personable, very knowledgable, and confident without seeming cocky (only glitch in the evening was the slower than satisfying bar service). The food was simple, but unique, and was heaven to my taste buds. The place was spotlessly clean, and I even noticed the chefs cleaning their areas after every plate was made. No hot plates from food sitting under a heat lamp. Management was active and available. Great place for a date or a group of four. Cheers!

Great creative and funky menu.
Great creative and funky menu. Food and service were both outstanding. Not for the "meat and three" crowd, but if you want to step out a little and try something new.....Searsucker rocks! Loved the music selection too!

Great for sharing anniversary meal.
Our server was amazing. He explained the items on the menu and I loved that he told us his favorite since that made us try new things. The runner was also very friendly and attentive. He took care of our every need before we needed it. Before we ordered desert our attentive server brought us each a glass of champagne to toast our Anniversay. A very thoughtful gesture. The food was great as we expected nothing less from the celebrity Chef/ owner Brian Malarkey. We were only slightly disappointed with a couple items, but with as many items as we ordered it was a success.
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
I love it
Had a wonderful girlfriend lunch. The three of us loved the food. We will be back.
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great and Mediocre
Their food is such a hit and miss. Some stuff is fantastic, others is just okay. We ordered two orders of the short ribs, which I have had before, and have absolutely loved. One order was fantastic, the other was super dry and there wasn't any sauce. So they must be having some consistency issues. It's too bad, because when you get something good, it's fantastic.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Brian Malarkey is a god!
I had eaten here once for dinner, which was great. So decided to try out their lunch menu. We started off with the squid, so delicious and just the right amount of heat. Reminded me of a sweet and sour chicken and a good amount for 2 people. I had the mussels and fries, which was huge and I liked the fries instead of bread, gave it a nice twist. It was a little salty, but i think it was because of the seasoning they put on the fries. The Mr. had the steak salad which again was a large portion, could probably share it amount two. Overall great experience will be going back

One of the Best!
We had been wanting to try this place for awhile and wish we had sooner. The food was unique and absolutely delicious! Everything was prepared to perfection. I would highly recommend Searsucker. I can't wait to go back!

Well worth the visit
I visited Searsucker for lunch and had a great time. The restaurant is inviting with a tip to restaurants of the thirties: well lit and inviting. The menu is limited but special and according to my waitress changes daily. I will be dining there again and possibly stop by to check out their happy hour and dinner.

First time here to celebrate
First time here to celebrate an anniversary & was very much impressed. The atmosphere was awesome, lighting was just right, live DJ added a hip feel to the cozy decor. Had the Indian Summer cocktail & it is my new favorite drink, so fresh & light. Ordered 4-5 small plates to try an assortment of food & loved every bite. Highly recommend coming here.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
The girlfriend and I decided on Searsucker for dinner last night and it was even better than I remember.
We decided to start by ordering a number of small plates, a bottle of wine and then sharing an entree with a couple of their "ands"
To name a few, we started with the bone marrow - Followed by the porkbelly / egg toast. (And if I could have that for breakfast everyday, I would do so in a cholesterol hindered heart beat - it was easily my favorite of all the small plates)
For the entree we split with Filet in Lobster butter with sides of Bacon Grits and Brussels Sprouts.
All in all, perfect amount of food for two people - I can't wait to come back here again and try to customize their "two handed burger"
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Absolutely delicious! We started with the scallop appetizer, luckily our waitress informed us that it is a single scallop, so we ordered one for each of us, it was well worth it. My boyfriend ordered the shark & I ordered the risotto. Both were very good, the shark was nicely seasoned & flaky, the risotto was creamy and flavorful. For a side we odered the brussels to share which had just the right amount if sweetness. Then for dessert we split the chocolate mousse cake. The cake itself was very rich, but the ice cream that accompanied it was divine. The service was excellent. The only thing that wasn't so great was that the music got extremely loud halfway through our dinner. Overall- highly recommended, great for a date & worth the money.

Great food with a diverse menu, I'll eat here again for sure.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Even though they have added fabric and some rugs for sound abatement, they put our table of four between three tables of twelve. The noise level was so high we could not talk across the table.

The restaurant week menu showcased
The restaurant week menu showcased some amazing dishes. The blend of flavors in every dish was both deft and creative. The tombo poke, in particular, was an incredible blast of tastes. If you are seeking comfort food, try the short rib appetizer.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
great restaurant week find
couple of things were a bit too salty, but the menu was imaginative and well-executed. steak was 5star, as was the beef tartare. a great value for restaurant week in particular!

The service was excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and well presented. The place itself has a very hip, trendy feel. The bar was enormous, but with few people surrounding it.
my overall experience was great!!

Great Food, Great Service
First experience here and very impressed. Creative, flavorful dishes, promptly and energetically served. Great bartender, interesting house mixed drinks. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.

As the title might insinuate this was the first time for my wife and i to dine at Searsucker in Scottsdale. Though a convergence of timing between Az restaurant week and the need to fulfill a celebratory date for my wife's birthday i decided to take her here. It was the right decision between the fun and relaxed ambiance, the wonderful service, and the stellar menu. Needless to say my wife was pleased as was I, but i of course took all the credit i could! Searsucker is a must for those who want to discover the more creative side of American cuisine.

Searsucker - Great Steak
My girlfriend and I both had filet - they were very good and it was a nice night out!

Wonderful celebration at Searsucker
Chose Searsucker to celebrate my eldest faughter's "white coat ceremony", as well as my youngest faughter's 16th birthday. The restaurant was fabulous is every way...we couldn't be happier with the ambiance, service, and the delicious food. Would definitely go there whenever we're back in Scottsdale, and looking forward to trying the San Diego restaurant.
10/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had an great date night here! Service was great, drinks were great and the food was amazing. Ambience was very cool as well!

They made it right
We had a few hiccups by put they made it right. Fabulous inventive and well seasoned food combined with attentive service made this a memorable meal. We tried three of the salads and they were delicious. For mains, I had the risotto which is thick and creamy with loads of mushrooms. Another had the mahi and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hanger steak was served cold and was sent back to the kitchen. Promptly we were served another portion, complete with profuse apologies.

Adventurous and Delicious
We had a great time at Searsucker celebrating my wife's birthday. It was a last minute idea and it was well worth it. The service was attentive and we were able to add to our food experience by having fun with our server. The manager was also attentive as they paid attention to some special requests. This one is being added to our favorites!
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Seersucker really changed our minds as to the existence of cutting edge cuisine in Scottsdale. The level of execution and creativity was very high. The service was knowledgeable and gracious without being obtrusive. Many well know dishes were re-imagined in interesting ways. The "surf and turf' with scallops and corned beef hash was exceptionally good. We never imagined corned beef hash could be so delicious.

I have an intolerance to flour
I have an intolerance to flour - they allowed me to order off menu and created very delicious dishes for me to accommodate my special needs.
The wait staff is attentive, great food and great environment. In addition, they have a valet service. Will definitely return.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
At first the menu seems a bit strange due to the titles. The food is amazing! Generous portions and great flavors.
Can't wait to go back! We had a great waiter and water glasses were always full.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
I thought the food was very good, but, pretty pricey for no more than you get!!! Drinkwater's, across the street is also pricey, but, you get a lot more food!
Our waitress was very good! Friendly and timely!!!

Fun & Fabulous
I have driven by Searsucker many a times and was eager to get in and try it out. We were not disappointed, service was excellent - cocktails were creative, and the food was amazing. I had the crab mac&cheese and my partner had the steak with chimichurri, it was so tasty!
11/21/2013 4:00:00 PM
Really great experience at Searsucker! All the appetizers and entrees my family had were unique and flavorful. Only side note is that the music is very contemporary and loud so this place is fit for younger people. I would definitely go there again!
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
The pork belly and duck was very good. The duck breast was perfect but the duck confit underneath the duck breast was too salty for me.
