GREAT REAL ITALIAN
Zio Cecio has fantastic specials, ask for them! Always a nice feel, welcoming, neighborhood place. No pretense. It's refreshing.

Lover's Lane Find....
15 minutes outside of central Dallas but worth the trip! Francesco is the owner. Zio "Uncle" so it's "Uncle Cecio" , Cecio being short for Francesco. Delicious pizza for our group of 7 shared while sipping wine and deciding what to have for dinner. Francesco is from Sardinia so he knows all about fish. The salt encrusted red snapper was perfectly cooked and mouth-wateringly (is that a word?) good. :-) The steak was tender, tasty and cooked perfectly to order. The veal chop was so, so tender, milky white, loaded with flavor and also cooked perfectly. Stting is simple, relaxed, comfortable and friendly. Francesco came to our table twice to make sure everything was okay and then stayed to provide a few very welcome cooking tips. Great find.

Save Room for Dessert
Had an excellent meal there. Good service (our server was Joanie, or as the owner referred to her - "the woman"). If you are/were a fan of Arcodoro, you'll enjoy the Sardignian/Italian food, as well as a nice selection of reasonably priced Sardignian wines. Food was uniformly good (fritto misto, squid ink infused spaghetti with clams, spaghetti carbonara, osso bucco), but the highlight was dessert - ricotta with honey and black pepper.Lively atmosphere (at least when we were there on a Saturday night) in a small, but cofortable dining room.

Italian as it was meant to be....
Zio Cecio's offers authentic fresh Italian cuisine from the coast of Sardinia. Dishes range from simple and sublime to complex bursting with flavor -- all brought to the table by an experienced and friendly waitstaff, under the watchful eye of Cecio - master Chef extraordinaire. The small but intimate dining room brings together the neighborhood crowd, the starry eyed couples, the foodies and the trendy set -- all comfortably enjoying a wide-range of menu selections to meet their dining experience. We highly recommend the tiramisu -- the best we've ever tasted -- and the homemade gelato, made fresh daily. It's all wonderful.

More Hits than misses
If you avoid heavy dining times, especially when the small dining room is fully occupied, you will have an outstanding experience. Otherwise, the risk of the very small kitchen with only two people beind the line, keeping up with all the orders produces very legthy waits at times. The food is so well prepared and tastes exquisite that it is worth it.

We just loved the restaurant. The lamb carpaccio was divine ... and the pizza couldn't have been better! And Francesco is the consummate host and chef!

Great birthday celebration
We had a wonderful dinner for my husband's birthday. He had a pork chop that he said was cooked perfectly. Two other diners
Selected a salt crusted fish, which was deboned and served table side. But the highlight were the desserts. Especially delightful was the ricotta with honey and cracked pepper. It is drizzled with honey...sounds weird, but this is definitely a winner. . The wait staff was great, overall, a lovely evening.

As this was our first experience
As this was our first experience with a Sardinian restaurant, we visited with the owner regarding his recommendations in order to get a true taste of Sardinia. I began with a Carpacci Manzo, the thin slices of beef with capers, onions and lemon juice. My wife had the mussels in a special house sauce. Both were excellent. For the entree, I was advised and had the roast suckling pig. She had the whole red snapper pan seared with a salt crust. Both were very tender and flavorful. We will be back to further explore the menu.

Real Italian dining!
At last I have found an Italian restaurant with authentic Italian dishes. It was not at all the classical spaguetti and meat balls or pasta dishes. At Cecio's you have a menu that has dinner plates that are unique. Me and my girl went there for her birthday and she was going crazy for the Focaccia bread which takes about 10 minutes because it is done in an oven then taken to you. It was delicious. In addition to that, the food is presented that it appeals to your eyes, as well as, your mouth. I plan to keep on going to this place many times.

All I can say is...the food was AMAZING!!!!! The waiter was awesome. Only tiny downfall...to couldn't understand a word my friend was saying...I kept having to say "what did you say". The noise from all the customer conversations were bouncing all over the place. Other than that...my experience was FAB.

Very good food. Sunday night
Very good food. Sunday night dining at 7:00 pm was very quiet. Nice outdoor patio. Neighborhood gem is best description.

Everything we ate was so delicious, I had to keep myself from licking the plate. Our server, Savannah, was a doll and very attentive and sweet. We will definitely be returning.

The sea salt crusted sea bass was fantastic. Also the grilled octopus.

Happy I finally went
I've seen the restaurant while driving and on Food Network, but had never been in. I finally went and it exceeded expectations. The fried calamari was the perfect balance of texture and taste (not too chewy like most places); my carbonara was outstanding and contained much more meat than in most locations. My dining companion is a native of Italy and said his pasta was exactly like his great-grandmother's!

Food and service was amazing! We will be back often.

Great Italian Gem
We celebrated my mom's birthday and had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious - very fresh seafood and I loved the ravioli (all of the pastas are homemade). The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back.

OH BY THE WAY--THE DESERT WAS GREAT
Nice space between tables. Excellent pasta. Noise level allows conversation. Friendly, courteous servers. Valet met me with an umbrella because it was raining. My first visit. I dine there again.

Southern Italian Charm
Loved it! There is valet parking and some outdoor dining. Several big groups were dining the night we went but this did not affect our service. There is a full bar & a wine list that features mostly Italian vintages, with some American selection. The menu favors southern Italian cooking. We tried two appetizers: the grilled portabello mushrooms with cheese sauce and polenta and the beef carpaccio with wilted spinach & fresh Parmesan. Both were outstanding, especially the mushrooms. We split the spaghetti carbonara and it was perfect. The pizzas looked delicious. My husband had roast chicken for dinner and I had the suckling pig special. Both were wonderful. We will definitely be back, next time for pizza and salad!

Excellent all around!
Everything was perfect! The staff made us feel like we were regulars which we will be now.

We had a nice dinner at Zio Cecio last weekend. We ordered the mashed potatoes with mushrooms and foaccacia bread for appetizers which were all good. My husband had the mushroom chicken, I had the Bronzino special and our friends had the pasta with meatballs and the fish special of Black Cod with veggies. All of our entrees were delicious. For dessert we split the tiramisu which was also great.

week night dinner
Always enjoy, but this time was more special due to the outstanding service.
We wanted to try a new wine and were introduced to a bottle from a family vinyard. Wow, a really nice find.

Off the beaten path but once inside all things are delicious. Fresh pasta, nice wine list, excellent staff very attentive to our group of four. Specials for our dining pleasure allowed us to share and even be adventurous. Roasted pork shank perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Pizza on thin crust best in years. Simple pasta dish with cured meats just Devine, asked chef to add a touch of heat mmmm...... Desert shared by all with coffee. Tawny Port finished the evening. Well done.

What's not to like?
This was our first visit to Zio Cecio. The service was attentive but not overbearing. We shared a delicious beef carpaccio with parmasean and capers which was perfectly dressed. Along with a great bottle of Italian white wine recommended by our waiter it was a great start. My SO had the homemade fettuccine with bolognese sauce. Perfect. I had the special: roast suckling pig with roasted potatoes. OMG: this was some of the best roasted meat I have ever had. the potatoes were good but paled in compaison to the pork.
my only nit: the Tiramisu was only ok. All in all, we loved this meal and will most certainly be back.
