I absolutely LOVE DP's! I
I absolutely LOVE DP's! I first started coming here for the great drinks and recently added DPs to my regular dinning spots. My recent visit was wonderful, as always. However, I called the restuarant a few days before my reservation to request a special message on our menus, but when we were seated for dinner, there wasn't anything on the menu. I was a bit dissapointed. No worries though, I will be back!

An excellent choice for dinner
An excellent choice for dinner before a show at The Palace - easy walking distance. Restaurant staff was extremely attentive and mindful of our curtain time. Nice selection of cocktails & wines; just a few beers on tap, but a couple of local brews. Our party shared a cheese plate, ordered entree salads & fish tacos for main courses, enjoyed everything. Relaxing & delicious meal. Will be our regular restaurant before ASO concerts!

Great before or after Play
Lovely place, great selection of entrees, food was delicious. A little noisey.

A fun night
DP An American Brasserie was an excellant spot to start our night before seeing a show at the Palace Theater nearby. For 8 of us each having a couple of drinks (mostly beer) and ordering an appetizer each though, it came to a steep $230 ($280 with tip)... A bit pricey, as some of the apps were smallish, but we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.

We were thrilled to find DP
We were thrilled to find DP (via OpenTable!). The menu is so varied that it was hard to choose our starters/meals: from burgers & steak frites to swordfish (special of day) and Indonesian plates. Freshly made potato chips were very good (dipping sauce was ok). Little pretzel rolls were a really fun alternative to the typical bread basket. Pork dumplings were good (but only 3 per order). Indonesian noodles were tasty; Indonesian salad was boring (mostly a big bowl of greens) but the shrimp in peanut sauce were tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back when in downtown Albany.

Dinner before the show.
We booked this restaurant for a quick bite before a show at the Palace Theater. Perfect. Less than a block from the theater. Our waitress was very good. She asked if we were seeing a show and put our orders in promptly. Great timing on her part. The food was wonderful. It was a little on the loud side...not somewhere you would go for a quiet romantic evening. We had a great meal and came back after the show to enjoy another glass of wine.

I wanted a trendy place with
I wanted a trendy place with good energy in Albany for a client meeting. The DP An American Brasserie fit that well. We were well taken care of, the food was good, and I was pleased on a busy evening to have the wait staff and kitchen work so hard to meet my "no-oil vegan" regimen. They do a very busy happy hour for locals, so if you like that sort of kick start to an evening by all means go (and the drinks are just 5 bucks!). But if not wait a bit till later. Nice to see that, after the bar scene tapered, several people came in and quietly worked on laptops while other tables, including ours, held animated conversations.

The taste was excellent however
The taste was excellent however the seafood casserole had very little seafood in it.

Can count on this place!
We have dined here dozens of times and heve never been disappointed! The food and service is excellent. This is the 'go to' place!

Dp has an interesting menu
Dp has an interesting menu that straddles between fine dining and bar food. Things like buffalo sweetbreads and seafood pot pie are nice variations on classic bar/comfort food. Service was good if not particularly attentive. Recommended.

Great spot and great food
Food is excellent with an interesting and extensive menu. As a hotel bar and restaurant, it has to cater to a wide range of tastes and it succeeds while still being a popular spot for locals. Service was excellent - professional, courteous and prompt.

Awesome! Attention to detail-
Our family was going to be in Albany on 8/2/13 to get our daughter, so 2 days before our reservation, my wife emailed Donna- owner & pastry chef- about a cake to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Within 1 hr, she emailed back. Later, the manager called about the cake. The daily specials insert were printed w/“Happy Birthday” to our daughter. The escargot - best we ever had made w/creamy spinach & pernod cream sauce in puff pastry. The calamari was drizzled with a Gen Tso sauce w/chopped peanuts; perfectly fried, delicate & tender. The meals, top notch, great flavors. And the cake - AMAZING, vanilla w/blueberries & strawberries & perfect frosting. Danielle our server was terrific. If we didn't live 4hrs away, we'd be back all the time.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites after a day at Saratoga and ate here. The food was perfectly yummy especially the duck fat fries and the Kobe sliders. I also had an amazing French 75 cocktail at the bar. Tasty food and good drinks!

This place is wonderful!
Love the food, love the atmosphere. The service was very good. Only issue was the appetizers. We ordered Satay which was delicious. But there was ONE Satay... We could not believe it. Either up the price or don't offer it as an appetizer! I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Albany. It is the best place in town.

We frequent this restaurant one or twice a month and are always very pleased with our experience. The small plate selection is perfect for sharing, the main plates are wonderful as well. The wine & cocktail list is the best in town, hands down.

We try to go to DP's regularly as it has everything we need for a satisfying night out. the ambiance and service are terrific. the food with the Indonesian flair of Yono's, is always delicious and ending with Donna's Kentucky Bourbon Pie is always a winner. The wine list is long and the wine is always served at the appropriate temperature. what more could you ask for?

The food is amazing. Creative, fun and exceptionally well prepared; ttention to detail is evident. We had seafood pot pie - so hot I had to taste is slowly and my wife had lobster ravioli - the real lobster inside was great.
My wife's whisky sour was too sour and the bar quickly remade it. My sazerac was amazing.
I was confused as to why it was not packed on a Friday night but thankful as the space is very loud making conversation challenging at times.
The only real negative was the server. At one point my wife was asking her to repeat herself and she said she knew it was loud and she just could not make her voice loud enough to be heard - not really an acceptable response.

Best Food in the Area
Not every dish is superior. My snapper with crawfish au beurre was just average -- or may this is not a great way to treat a snapper. My veal entree on our previous visit was excellent however.

Fantastic in every way!
My husband and I visited on our Anniversary (I had mentioned our Anniversary in the Open Table reservation). We were warmly greeted by the host staff with 2 glasses of bubbles! Our waitress Christi was absurdly great. She was knowledgeable and we felt like friends instantly. I had taken the time to look over their massive wine list beforehand and picked a few out but I couldn't locate them in the book. Christi sat down and took a look at my selection and said she would ask. A moment later, Chef/Owner/Somm Dominic Purnomo himself brought out our wine. Great service!
The food.....! We had rabbit sausage and lobster quesadilla for an app, both were delicious. I had roasted duck and my husband had lamb shank, huge portions and VERY very good.

Very eclectic menu. And, you can order from the sister restaurant, YoNo's, so plenty of options both casual and formal. Food was excellent, well prepared and presented.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience
We dined with a group of 10. The service was efficient and friendly as we shared a bunch of the small plates to start the evening and each had our own entrees. Some of us had wine and other selected from their extensive cocktail list.
Dessert is often an afterthought at most restaurants, that is not the case here. We would definitely return even only for their soft pretzel rolls & mustard sauce that they offer in lieu of bread.

I was planning a birthday surprise that involved out of town guests. The plan was that they would stay at the Hampton Inn and meet us for dinner on a Friday night. One member of the group of 6 was delayed so I called dp to explain the situation. They couldn't have been more accommodating. The surprise was a huge hit and the server was so attentive to our needs (and patient with us as we were slow to order and then added another guest an hour into the service!!) Just as our 5 meals arrived, the 6th friend arrived in a frazzle. Our server had a glass of wine waiting to deliver to her the moment she sat down, took her order, and she was presented with a meal in minutes. Remarkable! Thank you for a wonderful evening, dp!

Great time; waitress under par
Out for a girlfriend's birthday. Perfect spot for it; energetic crowd, great food & drinks. Only disappointment was our waitress. Started off with attitude & never softened up. Never got her name either. We didn't let it put a damper on our night, and we will certainly go back, just disappointing.

Delicious and Great Service
This restaurant makes you feel extremely welcome and well cared for. Our waitperson inquired as to whether we had concert tickets (we did) and assured us that we would make it comfortably (we did!) The food was very good and not outrageously priced. Our only discomfort was the noise level - hard to hear each other - the restaurant needs some work on the acoustic front but otherwise I would recommend it w/out reservation (so to speak!)

Good food in downtown Albany
Lunch was reasonable and the service from Joshua, and excellent server, was perfect. Nice airy room with high ceilings, good cityscape view and quiet noise level. Definitely a place to return to.
