Good for pre-Center Stage dining
Liked the garlic-jalopena naan, which we haven't seen anywhere else. The waiter responded to my girlfriend's lack of enthusiasm for her crab soup by taking it back to the kitchen to be spiced up with thinly-sliced peppers. I was disappointed that the Szechuan Lamb -- decribed on the menu as "Slices of beef..." -- was unavailable, but found the Rogan Josh delicious. All in all, we were very happy with Indigma.

SEcond time to Indigma and
SEcond time to Indigma and it didn't disappoint again. The care the staff takes with you is second to none, and the food is even better. The Pris Fix menu makes it easy and affordable to sample a variety of great food choices. Very close to Center Stage and they took care of us rapidly to make sure we made it to our show.

The ambience was lovely, and we sat by a warm fire. Food was delicious and unique. Loved the grilled calamari salad and lamb vindaloo

Very inventive menu
Dined before seeing a play at Center Stage, as we do about once during each theater season. The highlight was the garlic-jalopena naan, which we had never seen before and found delicous both initially and as part of her "doggy bag" the next day. When her crab soup proved disappointingly bland, the very attentive waiter quickly took it back to the kitchen to be perked up with some slivered peppers, which improved it dramatically. I was disappointed that the Indo-Chinese Szechuan Lamb dish, intriguingly described as containing "thin slices of beef" was unavailable, but enjoyed the Rogan Gosh entree. The mango-flavored Indian-style ice cream was a delicious end to our meal.

This is not your average Indian
This is not your average Indian or even Indian-fusian restaurant. They modernize what can use a little refreshing, including having a prix fixe menu option. We also had a bottle of Indian red wine, which was really complex and went great with our Lamb Saag and Navrathan Korma. The Rasmalai Royale (sweetened indian cheese / vanilla ice cream) was really a special treat, but the Gulab Jamun were a bit dense and dry.

We had just the best time. The restaurant is elegant, but not overwhelming. I can't say enough about the colors! Our waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. The food was worth every bite! It was quiet enough that we could hear the suitar player, and we were in an adjoining room. The staff rearranged tables behind us with hardly any disruption. Can't wait to go back!

Very good value for the money
The flavors in the dishes are very complex and pleasing, the wines are very reasonably priced, and the owner is very attentive to the restaurant's performance. The decor is warm and vibrant. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Baltimore and one of our favorite Indian restaurants in the DC-Baltimore area.

I attended during restaurant week and I found my dining experience to be excellent. I had attended the lunch buffet when I first moved to Mt. Vernon and it was excellent, but I was equally impressed with dinner. I had the spicy soft shell crab and it was very good. The atmosphere was great and the service was very good.

Great Indian Cuisine
The food and the service were great at Indigma. I plan to return with friends visiting form out of town in September.

Unique and Delicious!
Not your standard Indian restaurant. Indigma has the usual favorites, but served with a more contemporary presentation, as opposed to the common silver platters. But, what's great about Indigma is the variety of cuisines from various regions of India, as well as what might be considered as creative fusion dishes, like the avocado pakoras (sublime) and the Himalayan momo dumplings with a sauce filled with subtle flavors. The service is great and the food is a cut above the other Indian restaurants in town. AND they have one of my favorites - masala dosa! Because it's in a charming old brownstone, the wooden floors don't absorb the noise, so it can be hard to hear the person next to you. But the food makes it worth the noise levels!

Quickly becoming our fav restaurant
Whenever we ave eaten here we have received extremely friendly service and had food that was just fantastic. This time was no exception. The waitress steered us away from an appetizer we originally ordered to a new one, Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower in sweet and sour sauce), which turned out to be the best thing we had. Though we always laugh a little bit at the cheesy cocktail glasses, the mixed drink selection has some real gems, both sweet and savory. Indigma always has something a little different and more creative than what you'd find at most Indian restaurants around here and I highly recommend trying it out.

Excellent Indian food. I would
Excellent Indian food. I would recommend this to all. A great location, close to Center Stage and The Peabody Conservatory of Music. The servers can be quite helpful in explaining the different sauces, spices, and dishes.

We have been to Indigma for lunch on a few occasions, and we really enjoy the lunch buffet. But this was our first dine-in experience. We really enjoyed the martinis that Indigma has on their drink menu. The food, of course, was fantastic. They had great and affordable prix fixe menu. The service is great and we are always personally greeted by the owner. I would definitely recommend and come back again!

Good Indian Food
All done well with plenty of spice. Lamb special was tender and tasty. Nice drink menu. Needs some more things on the walls to keep the noise down, but the old mansion look is elegant.

Music provided by the Book Fair
When we arrived at opening, the Maitre d' kindly seated us at the table in the southwest corner so we could watch and hear the band on the Music Stage of the Baltimore Book Fair. Her spicy salad was very tasty, while my seekh kabab appetizer seemed a little dry but perked up with the addition of coriander chutney. We both enjoyed our lamb entrees and shared a delicious mango ice cream dessert.
We tried Sula wines from India -- her a sauvignon blanc and me a shiraz -- and found the white especially appealing.
Indigma remains a great spot for dining before seeing a play at Center Stage.

Indigma was a terrific choice for before the theater. The menu is extensive with some unique items like the avocado fried in a chickpea batter. All the flavors were distinctive with medium spiciness so you can actually taste the food. We'll be back!

Beautiful food and restaurant
Tony the owner took great care of us and made sure we were impressed. This is not your average Indian restaurant. The place is beautiful in a historic grand townhouse in the heart of mount Vernon Baltimore. The view of the George Washington monument was amazing at night. Wonderful bar area and happy hour too. Can't wait to come back. Love the chill out music to complement the atmosphere. Fantastic time.

Great Night Out
The food was excellent, I was especially impressed with the Indo-China cuisine. The decor was bright and lively. Both my partner and I would eat here again.

We dined at Indigma on a Saturday
We dined at Indigma on a Saturday night, celebrating a birthday. The owner and staff were warm and friendly, and assisted us in selecting dishes to share. The live sitar music was fantastic, and the musician even played a sitar rendition of happy birthday. It was a very pleasant evening and we all enjoyed our meal very much.

Not Your Typical Indian
Indisputably top notch food, service and ambience. Perhaps the best Indian in Baltimore. A menu that expands well beyond the standard Indian fare with broad selection on regional cuisines -- creative, nuanced and well-executed -- with influences from throughout Indo-Asia. Wonderfully cordial and informative service; attentive without hovering. Spacious, reasonably well-appointed room; definitely more elegant than most other Indian restaurants' cramped quarters with stereo-typed afterhthought decor.

A wonderful evening
The food was fantastic (always love the Manchurian Gobi)and the portions huge. Lovely live sitar music and friendly service. The owner was extremely gracious and even offered a celebratory cocktail when he discovered it was our anniversary. Can't wait to go back.

wonderful service and ambiance for a family to have good food and drink and get a chance to sync up. beautiful building!
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We loved Indigma and will definitely be back. Our meals were delicious and the service was great. Our only issues were the avocado samosas being slightly disappointing (just fried avocado when we were expecting them to be more like typical samosas), and the fact that it was very cold in the restaurant. We had to keep our coats on during the entire meal.
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had both a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian Thali and they were both very, very good. I would recommend. Place is a bit pricey so we were happy to have a Livingsocial voucher.

Super delicious food for the "curry-snob" in all of us. My visits to Indigma are always tummy filling :-)

Authentic Indian Food
We enjoyed the meal and it compared favorably with some of our experiences while living in London. Highly recommended.

We haven't been to Indigma since it moved across the street and are happy to say that the atmosphere is now as good as its food.

Great food and service!
Our waitress(Ukrainian but don't remember her name) was amazing! She gave shoot on recommendations and the food was worth waiting for. The owner and his wife came by to give out about our experience and they were interested in our feed back. Great job! We'll definitely come back!

Higher End Indian in Mt. Vernon
Everything was great especially the spicy chickpea salad, naan and lamb vindaloo. The desserts were great too.

Better than ever!
Without a doubt the best Indian food in Baltimore. When we were there there was a reception for an Indian wedding. Nuff said.

Our dinner was absolutely terrific. We had a large party and everyone really enjoyed their meal. This was our second dining experience at Indigma and we will definitely return! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Best Indian Restaurant in town
I have frequented for their lunch buffet but first time for dining. Sautee calamari with spinach appetizer and succulent lamb dish for entree were excellent. Understand they feature live sitar music for saturday dining.
