28th Anniversary Brunch
We decided to have our anniversary brunch at the Boiler House. We'd been there for a late lunch once before and the food was very good. The location in the Pearl Brewery gives a great setting and there is shopping afterwards. Reservation honored immediately and we were seated at a 2 top tall table in the bar area. Everything on the brunch menu looked great and both of our meals came quickly and were very good. Wife had the stacked shrimp and grits and while they could have been a touch warmer when served, tasted great. The hangover hash was perfect. Definitely will go again.

Traveling to San Antonio on business so ran across this gem on open table and extremely happy I did. Wonderful food(although I would skip the Porchetta). We ordered a bunch of plates to share a d a fabulous bottle of wine, reasonably priced for the choice.
Amazing, knowledgable staff!

Go for a "whole" lotta fish
Went with a group of 5 and shared the whole snapper and the Tomohawk ribeye. Two amazing huge items and very tasty. Great if you are bringing a large group from out of town.

We visited on Father's Day, the place was pack, it took a few minutes to get our food but was so worth it, delicious food very good service. We will go back again!

Father's Day Brunch
We went for Father's Day Brunch and the food was excellent. The Hangover Hash and the Green-Chili Pulled Pork and Popcorn Grits were so delicious. I normally do not like grits due to the texture, but the Popcorn Grits were so creamy and complimented the pork. We will definitely come back for brunch and need to try it out for dinner.

Great first visit
We went for our 30th Anniversary. We wanted a quiet enough place to reflect, yet vibrant enough that we could be part of the energy in a restaurant. Boiler House accomplished both. Good, small portions of food and reasonable prices allowed you to try more items. Like a tapas bar. Fantastic service.

After much debate about whether to have lunch at Boiler House or not, I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised.
The reviews from friends was not favorable. To which I would say, "Don't believe everything you hear".
It took some time to get our orders but, I can see why. Everything is served up hot and fresh.
All was worth the wait!
Exceptional salmon crepes!
Flourless chocolate cake is amazing!
Glad I stopped in.

Give it a chance
We went here for date night on a Friday. Initially we had planned to visit one of the other restaurants in the Pearl Brewery area, but reservations were hard to come by and it was a last minute decision. When we walked in, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. The hostess sat us at a tall window table near the bar. I immediately asked for restaurant seating and was informed that this "was" restaurant seating. After a quick back and forth with my date, we decided to stay and try it. IT WAS WORTH IT. Service was great. Small plates options were fun and very tasty. Wine list was spectacular. About halfway through dinner a Blues/ Jazz band started playing. They too were fabulous. We are already planning our next visit.

The food was great! Make sure

Great lunch experience
I had guests in from out of town and was looking for a unique location for lunch. The Boiler House provided a nice change from the typical lunch choices. The waiter was very helpful in giving suggestions and the food was fantastic. The location is great. Full of history from the days of the Pearl Brewery. We will definitely keep The Boiler Room.

Boiler House food excellent
I am probably moderate in my risk of trying new food but occassionally I get risky. The risk paid off at the Boiler House. Where else can you try Bison Tartar, bone marrow, and wild boar meatballs and like them all!! I also had the Allen Ranch filet...sketical because of the hefty price at $47....but must say it was the best filet I've ever had...taste was awesome and it was cooked to perfection.....and that includes all the top steak houses in San Antonio, like Ruth's Chris, Perry's, and Kirby's.
Also had an extensive wine selection and a decent Texas craft beer selection

Great food and service!
First time and enjoy everything. We picked the place based on live entertainment. Food was great...wine selection extensive. Megan served us a blended a wine to met our taste...it was great. We'll be back!

My husband & I went here for our 13th anniversary the food was delicious and we tried a little bit of everything, the portions were small which was a good thing did'nt want to overeat I got the shrimp with bacon it was divine there was not one thing i did'nt like. Also a plus they had live music on a friday nite, loved it.

A business meeting turned in to an evening out. Appetizers and beer gave way to salads and entrees as our business conversation turned friendly with the assistance of great service and even better food.
Their wine list was surprising with a light rose, perfect for 100 degree days, being my favorite. Our table had salads seafood and steaks and all were delights.
It is pricey enough to keep it out of the regular rotation, but as a special occasion, it can't be beat!
7/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Steak was Great
This is a great steak. No need to add anything. It was seasoned to perfection.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Rene', our server, went way
Rene', our server, went way beyond expectations in making our first experience warm and fun. Ashley Rose sang and played some great music at a perfect volume level and was very interactive with us. The steak was top notch, the salmon ceviche was very impressive (and we are ceviche fans.) Beets were done very nicely and the duck pate plate was quite worthy also. All in all, we will be back.
7/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Go for the whole fish
This time it was a striped bass. Beautifully cooked.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
The Boiler House was a perfect place for my wife and I to enjoy our monthly 'date night'. We were seated upstairs, and unfortunately it got a little warm...the food was outstanding but our comfort level slowly dissapeared because of the temperature of the upper level dining area. Other than that, we had a great time and plan on going back again!
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fun nibble food
We had the quail poppers, bison meatballs and salmon ceviche while drinking wine and talking. All were very good and fun to nibble on while enjoying conversation. Then we had the salmon and filet for our main dishes......both were good , but the salmon was the best I have ever had. Rene was a fantastic waiter and made the night that much more enjoyable.

Love Boiler House
We are frequent visitors of San Antonio and we try not to leave town without eating here! The food is very unusual and very good! Highly recommend this place!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
I really enjoyed my evening at the Boiler House. The food was great so was the service. They have live music and the decor is really modern. Overall , a great place to hang out .
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great appetizers and drinks
Great appetizers and drinks but the main course fell flat. Steak was dry, beans had no flavor. Atmosphere and live music were great.
8/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Solid dishes with a twist
Well-prepared salmon with a bacon topping. Outstanding side of potatoes. Inventive strawberry shortcake. Only downside was thean at the next table who kept going out to smoke and causing the restaurant to smell like a chimney each time he returned.
8/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
6:30 may be too early to dine
Went during restarant week. The pork belly appetizer wasn't ready yet, nor was another appetizer on the regular menu. The waitsataff made up for it by letting us pick from regular menu something that was ready to serve. They also offered me a glass of wine while I waited. Quality, portion and presentation were nice. The ceviche was fresh and tasty. The prime rib was fine and cooked to correct temp. Still want to try their pork belly, just another reason to visit again.
8/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
We visited the Boiler House during Restaurant week. We really enjoyed our meal, and we will definitely be back!
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved the experience
Our service was very good and this being our first visit, the whole experience at the boiler house was great. The food was great and we loved how each plate of food is made for to people to share. The price were just right, I was pleased with the quality and quantity for the amount I paid. Four plates and a ice tea= $50 + tip.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our tapas choices were so tasty and amazing! The wine selection was unbelievable and our waitress was so patient with helping us taste and select just the right choice. The music was really great, but my only complaint is our table was practically under a stairwell next to stacks of wine boxes :( Will go back and have recommended to friends, too!
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
The brunch here is amazing! The table shared some plates and I was able to try a variety of menu items and all of them were awesome. A bloody mary (they do not have thir liquor license) would have been icing on the cake. Friendly attentive staff and a great atmosphere! Don't miss out.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
A notable gem
I enjoyed dining at the Boiler House. The food was excellent. The shrimp skewers are a must along with the quail. The vibe of the restaurant was hip with a historic and contemporary twist.
8/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was wonderful! Will be going back many more times!
8/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was my second time eating at Boiler House and I can't wait to go back. The quail poppers were delish and the Boiler House BLT on gluten free toast was perfect. Our waiter was so attentive refilling our waters and when it came to dessert he brought me the gluten free choice of fresh fruit and chantilly cream. It was a great ending to a wonderful business lunch. Definitely worth trying and would recommend.
8/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
I highly recommend the Boiler House for brunch on the weekend. Wonderfully creative and delicious dishes.
9/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very nice take on the shared
Very nice take on the shared small-plate concept; probably best experienced by a group rather than a couple. Modern American with a Texas Hill Country spin. The small plates are priced very reasonably and amply sized for sharing, but the traditional entrees (steaks) are a bit spendy. Very cool venue in the old Pearl Brewery campus.
9/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
A Pearl of a Restaurant
Our first visit and will definitely return. Extensive and Excellent gluten free selections from tapas to main course. Wine list is outstanding, reasonable prices, and some unique wines that you will not find at other restaurants. Our server Nick did an outstanding job matching wines and food for us. A great find at Pearl.
9/5/2013 5:00:00 PM
Our first visit was our anniversary and this was my husband's birthday. We enjoy going there as the food is very good and enjoy being in that area. We walked the river walk afterwards. We would recommend it to others and will return.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had a wonderful experience
Had a wonderful experience because Rene our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had the right wines for each, my wife and I's palate.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food and unique atmosphere.
Great food and unique atmosphere. They have a great variety of options and a large wine selection. Tried mutiple dishes and all were great, especially the braised pork belly and peach bread pudding. They also have live music. Lots of fun.
The server should have been more attentive to her area in general. And no serves were visible in the area for long periods of time. Could have been worse, but should have been better.
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Boiler House Roxs
Brunch and mimosas were amazing and so was the service. This was or first time visiting, walking around the Pearl Brewery was refreshing and nice.
9/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
My husband & I recently went to eat the Boiler House & absolutely loved it. We especially liked how their menu is set up so you can share food items which allows you to try more --- because there is so much you will want to try on the menu!! We thought the Oysters Rockefeller were delicious & loved both the skewers we ordered which were the beef & lamb. The Mixed Greens salad had simple ingredients but it was very yummy and large enough for 2 to share. We will definitely go back again!!
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Ordered most of our food from the left side of the menu and loved it! Just enough to share but not so much that there was any food left. The quail poppers were excellent. The meatballs were moist and tasty. The lamb did seem overdone and was probably the only "miss" on our table.
Highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Second time we went to this restaurant and the first time for brunch. The shrimp and grits and the Green chili pulled pork was fantastic. Portions were great and if you wanted you could split the green chili dish between two. The service as always was great. Highly recommend for dinner or brunch.

Our firstBoiler House experience
We had such a wonderful time at Boiler House! Everything from making my reservation to splitting checks and slicing birthday for a big group was easy and delightful! A group of 16 of us (all who were at BH for the first time) had a wonderful experience that we all raved about for the rest of the week! The wine list was great, and the guys all loved the different beers available. The food was incredible, I think I said "ok, I'm full! Wait- let me try a bite of that too!" about 10 times! Our server was amazing... friendly, accomodating and overall made our experience what it was. We will definitely be back soo!
10/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food great ambiance. Dinner with 7 people went very good. Server was new did not go over the menu options very we'll.
11/7/2013 4:00:00 PM
outstanding service & food !!!!!!!!
we enjoyed a dinner date here a few nights ago, we were pleasantly greeted at door and seated immediately. the waitress was able to provide a sample of wines to choose from with wonderful explanations. we will continue to dine here from time to time. we ordered the steak and many other nibbles and all the food was fantastic!
11/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
Although it was an industrial area, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The servers and greeters were genuinely pleased to see us and made the whole experience very enjoyable. We chose to order several different dishes for a more varied tasting experience and we were not disappointed with any of them. Our server was super. He was so easy to talk to and helped us feel like we were friends and not customers. He made great suggestions that made our dinner fun and exciting. In all, we can't wait to come back. Well done guys! Thanks!
11/12/2013 4:00:00 PM
Food great, service not so
The food is exceptional, as expected for the price. The server was rushed and spent as little time at the table as possible. Dessert was served without utensils.

Boiler House Fun
Went to BH for Sunday brunch. A friend had said he was there for brunch the previous weekend. We decided to check it out. Great menu. Brunch has many interesting options. Really great takes and twists on some classic dishes. We had the hangover hash and the BLT mac and cheese. Excellent. Also the fresh squeezed juices for our sparkling wine was a nice touch. I will recommend this place to friends and come back again.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Went here for our Anniversary.
Went here for our Anniversary. .it was delish & had Great Service!
11/20/2013 4:00:00 PM
Small Plate, Big Taste
The Boiler House menu has a nice balance of small plates which easily can be blended to make a meal with diverse flavor profiles and tasty surprises. The Brussels Sprouts, Quail, and Pork Tenderloin were all very nice -- with portions large enough to share.
The wine list is extensive, but a bit over priced by the glass considering the size of the pour.
We'll definitely go back.

Give Up :-)
Let the wonderful staff lead the evening for you. Simply discuss what you like on both food and wine and give up, let the staff take charge and serve. They certainly know their food and wine pairings. It is a wonderful experience to let propose tastings and food pairings. The buffalo tar tar, oysters Rockefeller, spinach salad, all wonderful. Great Texas only beers and hundreds of wines!
