Good location and nice atmosphere.
Good location and nice atmosphere. The samosas were delicious for a starter. The naan was incredible. All the dishes we had were very flavorful and tasted very fresh. I would easily return to try more dishes.

Very Good Food and Service
5/16 Dinner: Went with family on my birthday and enjoyed delicious food in a nice presentation. The server was very professional and helpful. All the items were presented in a nice way and the plates were picked up and new plates were served quickly. It was quite and nice being a week day. The ambience is not great or high end but overall we enjoyed everything. I would recommened Copper Pot and will visit again in near future.

You must try the Gobi Manchurian
Gobi Manchurian: deep fried cauliflower in a spicy manchurian sauce.....you probably wouldn't even know it was cauliflower....sooo good.....my partner had the methi chicken and I tried India's answer to paella: Dum Briyani (I had it with shrimp).....also....we tried the Kulcha for the first time....basically Naan with green chills....very good.....love this place...worth the price....oh....and the vindaloo bloody mary is good....closer to a bloody caesar than a blood mary.....I keep trying to have them make it hotter.....

Excellent Quality and Service
I have to admit I procrastinated when it came to trying this place, as I typically do for ethnic restaurants. I finally tried Copper Pot a few days ago and it was exceptional on all points. The food quality was fit for food snobs and presentation was appealing. Service was excellent and restaurant was impeccably clean. I only wish I tried Copper Pot long ago. I'll definitely be back.

Superb Indian cuisine
First visit to Copper Pot and our impression was very favorable. After a glass of wine, wife and I shared appetizers of toasted naan and Manchurian cauliflower, both of which were served warm, crisp, and very flavorful. Entrees included a Biryani style duck creation (similar to paella) and a lamb dish prepared with spinach in a brown onion sauce, both accompanied by basmati rice. Each of the choices was deliciously tasty with generous portions. For dessert, we tried a fried cheese roll bathed in honey; something different which turned out to be wonderful. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful in assisting us with our selections. Would definitely go back to try several other tempting menu items.

We were celebrating a birthday and requested a "special table" at the Copper Pot. There were a couple of empty tables that looked nice, but we were told they were reserved (I thought that reserving tables on Open Table was also called "reserving" them), so we had to sit somewhere less desirable. No one was seated at either of those more desirable tables all night long!
The food is great -- and nicely spiced. No question that if you're into Indian food, this is a great spot. But the ambiance leaves something to be desired. There were several babies and young children, making lots of noise. Screaming kids at McDonald's is fine, not at 8:30 p.m. at nice restaurant in downtown Mpls. I know it's not the restaurant's fault, however.

Rainy night comfort
Warm service, flavorful food and a calm, clean and tasteful atmosphere. All dishes were beautifully flavorful and presented -- everything had a purpose. A wonderful place to nestle in for a calm and satisfying meal in the city.

Surprised it's not better known
With all the trendy spots full up on a Saturday night, I resorted to reservations for eight at the Copper Pot. I was anxious about the pick because I take pride in finding great restaurants for a group of friends. I ended up looking like a brilliant foodie sleuth by the end of the meal. For our group of eight the food and service were excellent. Would definitely recommend to others.

The food was great, the staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the restaurant overall. However, the service was extremely slow. We were one of the first tables for dinner, and the staff seemed overwhelmed with just a few tables being seated. We will go again though, just to make sure we were not on an off night.

Nice Mix of Dishes
We had a party of 8 trying the restaurant for the first time, all who have eaten a lot of Indian. Everyone ordered a different dish so we could get a nice flavor for the place. The selection of dishes was excellent. The service was good for an Indian restaurant (where they are sometimes slow). The lamb saag was some of the best I'd ever had. We had another lamb dish in a creameir sauce that was also top notch. The chicken Korma was flavorful and had a nice bite too it. The vindaloo was nice and hot. I'd say the Tikka Masala was just average.
We were very pleased with the dining experience. Anyone who takes in the Indian restaurant scene in Minneapolis needs to give this place a try

Very tasty, I've had better service
The restaurant is pretty much par for the course in everything. The food is great. The mojitoes we had were delicious and huge. But the service is just a little... off. It's the little things. I would be holding my date's hand and the waiter would walk up and say 'Sorry' awkwardly. Or we'd say we need another minute to look at the menu and they wouldn't come back even with menus closed and eyes wandering. It wasn't a busy night. It was almost like they wanted to be flagged down. And when we asked for food suggestions, the response was pretty flat, non-descriptive, etc. But it wasn't stupendously failing, it was just a C+ attitude.
All-in-all, I would most certainly suggest it. The waiters were certainly polite, and the food was delightful.

My husband on I tried Copper Pot on a whim and we're sure what to expect given that there were a few negative reviews. The food and service were fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

This Indian rocks!
It was a blustery night in downtown Mpls and we found Copper Pot through yelp - and a "find" it was! Great, interesting, and authentic Indian food, served with charm, in a warm spot next to the Lumber Exchange, a wonderful, historic architectural gem.
