After opening with great promise in late 2012 and then having to close for months shortly thereafter due to a burst pipe and major water damage, this Upper West Side neighborhood gem finally reopened in Aug., 2013. Happily, the food, which is Spanish (think tapas and paella),is still delicious, moderately priced and portions are generous. The service is attentive and one of the owners is very much in evidence, greeting customers and checking to see that all is going well at the table. Absolutely worth a visit, and repeat business.

Glad to have another UWS option
We had dinner there on a Thursday night. It was very quiet when we first arrived at 7pm, by the time we were leaving, the place was picking up. Service, food and sangria were all great. We'll definitely be back!

In the UWS food desert, Casa Pomona is a lovely standout for its delicious and authentic take on tapas, excellent service and reasonable prices. They now feature daily entrees and Paella as well. There are a few tables outdoors but the whole restaurant is open and very colorfully decorated. This place is a delight. Highly recommended.

A great local date night spot on the barren UWS. Great drinks, tapas and personable and attentive service. Run don't walk to this great new spot--order up some Sangria and a few tapas and enjoy..... just had another enjoyable experience with the a tasty and intoxicating Barcelona Punch and delicious and inventive tapas at Casa Pomona. GO.

Fun place to dine! Suckling
Fun place to dine! Suckling pig was delicious! Meatballs were yummy. Grilled leeks were nice. Plan to try the paella next time.
Sangria was so-so. Chicken lollipops were nothing special.

Casa Pomono needs to figure
Casa Pomono needs to figure out how to better accommodate walk-ins and opentable reservations. We had a reservation, as did a number of other guests, yet the place was packed and we all had to wait. If your restaurant is full, don't have opentable reservations available!

Good spanish fare.
we went to Pomona to find a piece of Spain right after a show in Broadway. The kitchen is open untill 11pm so we got there around 1045, and were served really well. Service was prompt and corteous, the food was just great, from the lamb chops, all the way to the octopus.

A true mark of a great tapas joint is how exceptional the patatas bravas are... A seemingly simple dish but not every resto does them well. Pomona's are the best I've found in the 'hood. Service is friendly, serving portions are huge for brunch dishes.

The tapas here is amazing, a great selection of meat + vegetable choices. The meatballs were fabulous, we ordered a second helping. Tapas is made to be shared unfortunately you will need at least two per person to make a meal. Worth it however, reasonably priced for quality of food. Looking forward to trying other items on menu next visit!

Had a great date night here
Had a great date night here last week. They have an interesting menu with a lot of unique options and everything we tried was very good.

A few friends and I were craving tapas, and Casa Pomona--just an avenue from where I live and highly recommended by a friend--was a no-brainer. The service was fantastic, the wine superb, and the plates (we ordered the Migas (fried egg with peppers), Fideua Negra (squid ink noodles with calamari), Alcachofa (fried artichoke hearts, and the small chicken and chorizo paella) each more delicious than the last. We will definitely come back, now that we know about the bottomless brunch!

Crispy patatas bravas, nicely charred pulpo, croquetas that actually has fish texture - not just pureed mush, and not overly garlicy like so many "authentic" tapas in NYC. Good pacing so the food didn't all show up at once. Tasty sangria. Will be back.

I really like this place
Casa Pomona is a Spanish-style tapas place that also has entrees and paella. It's casual yet smart and a wonderful place just to hang out, eat, drink, socialize, and be happy. Definitely needed in the neighborhood. My favorite place to sit is at the high-tops in the front. We Americans are a little squeamish about sharing space with people we don't know, but we really need to get over that. Bar is fun, Spanish wine selection small but well-chosen. Tapas are delicious, we always order more than we should. Usually you can just drop in, but reservations are increasingly a good idea.

Great Food & Fun Atmosphere
Everything we had was delicious - particularly the octopus. Everything was very reasonably priced, including the drinks. Great spot to grab a bite before a show to start a romantic night out.

A great Thankdgiving lunch here. All a bit last minute by us and - as it turned out - we were delighted to have eaten here. The restaurant was quiet - but the food was great. We had the wine parings and I wish I knew what the sherry was as it was fabulous. Definitely recommended
