This open, airy restaurant (located in the iconic Laurel Hardware store space) is perfect for a quiet lunch or brunch. They don't have a large menu, but what they do have is freshly prepared and features new twists on old favorites. The coffee, served in a French press, was excellent - always an important part of brunch for me! Our server was attentive and friendly without going overboard. If you care a lot about having a booth vs. a table, request that when you make your reservation. Parking right at the restaurant is tricky or impossible, but if you're willing to walk for a block or two, there's plenty of free two-hour parking in the neighborhood.

Trendy and Surprisingly Impressive
I came here with 3 of my girl friends, my dad, and his friend. Everyone in the group was impressed and felt very comfortable with our mixed group. We sat at the communal table in front of the bar. I didn't have high hopes for the food but everything that came out was delicious, tender, and cooked perfectly. They sell it as family style dining but I think it's more of a tapa style dinner. The portions aren't large enough for more than 3 people. Their specialty drinks were very creative but too sweet for my taste. The atmosphere really can't be beat, it's a great crowd with great people watching. Definitely recommend for a date in front of the large window or group in the outdoor patio area. Awesome space, good food, and an even better vibe!

Delicious cocktails (I especially
Delicious cocktails (I especially loved the Rosie, a green-tea infused lemon vodka/soda with rose petals) and fantastic small plates for sharing. Some highlights included fingerling potatoes with creamy mushroom sauce, melt-in-your-mouth tender beef cheeks with beets and peaches and perfect salty creamy goat cheese stuffed squash blossoms. The servers were attentive, the food was timely and the atmosphere on the back patio was great for conversation.

I used to go to Laurel Hardware when it was a hardware store so I was very curios to check it out. Made a reservation through Open Table for 3 for a birthday dinner. There was a little confusion at the hostess desk locating the reservation but was sorted out
We were surprized to see how busy it was on a Tuesday. the back patio os really nice Our waitress was very attentive and had some good suggestions but did not try to upsell us on everything which was nice. The food was attractive fresh tasty and good proportions.
Everyone enjoyed what they had..no raves ..but three clean plates. I prices seemed a little high but it was a special occasion.
I would recommend Laurel Hardware..contemporary but comfortable interior, alert staff good food

Best ambiance in LA created
Best ambiance in LA created by low key design of indoor outdoor spaces with the rear window wall and energy of friendly competent staff. The small plates menu is distinctive and we loved the "lollipops," steak frites, pepperoni pizza and desserts. The Chateau Lacoste rose is outstanding. We will definitely return, can't wait to share with friends.

Hip and Happening
3 different areas and ambiances give it great scope. When we arrived around 6 m it was empty . Sat in the garden and when we left the large bar area was packed. Just ate small plates. Ribs are some of the best I have had. Rest of food was OK. Great scene especially for out-of-town visitors like I had.

We had been trying to get the group of to us Laurel Hardware for month - it was totally worth the wait! The cocktails and wine were great and the beef cheeks to die for!

I was only here for lunch,
I was only here for lunch, so the menu was fairly limited although my burger was very good. Would like to try it for dinner. The space is very cool with the old hardware storefront intact. It's one of those places where it looks better than it feels, as the seating was modern as opposed to comfortable. Good restaurant though, definitely try the homemade sodas.

Great first experience
I've been hearing about this place for a while but finally had a chance to make it for dinner... great spot! highly recommend the lollipop sprouts!

Laurel Hardware -- nailed it
Loved Laurel Hardware--interesting seasonal menu with the vegans in our party as well as the carnivores. Loved the lollipop kale dish and the butternut squash blossoms. Hamachi was less than spectacular. Tasted fishy and muddy. The pizzas were excellent--crispy crust and delicious topping! Curious to see how the menu changes on my next visit. Sat in the lovely garden but I suspect it would be impossible to hear anyone in the inside of the restaurant. Excellent serving staff--very friendly and warm. Michelle coukdnt do enough for us. Makes a big difference in your dinng experience. A little pricey but servings were generous!

Great food, super staff. Place kicks into gear after 10PM, even weeknights. Come earlier if you want conversation level experience.

Really liked this restaurant.
Really liked this restaurant. Servers and greeters were friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere - good buzz without being obnoxiously loud. Food was absolutely delicious - I had the cauliflower which was terrific and Mary's chicken was juicy and very tasty. Highly recommend both. We shared a very good strawberry and rhubarb crumble with ice cream. Great spot.

I took my wife for her Birthday, and it was just right: great food, great atmosphere. We sat in the back patio which was quieter and more intimate (inside is louder and more vibrant). Food was amazing all around, and as for desert, best butterscotch ice cream.
8/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Such a cool place
Great small plates -- tried multiple including cod fritters, arugula soup, scallops -- all were great. Pizza surprisingly good for LA. The patio area is just so nice as night falls and the lights come on. Place seemed filled with happy, cool (except for me) locals. Highly recommended, but busy so plan ahead.

By far the best brunch I've had in many years. Our waiter,Ryan, was superb , friendly upbeat guy happy in his space, hope they treat him right. Go and order as much as you can its superb!
8/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fun find in a convenient location..
Despite a rather limited menu, we were able to order a nice lunch. Some very creative takes on simple food. Too few dessert offerings.

Laurel Hardware nailed it!
Unassuming from the street and underwhelming front dining room but once you turn the corner you are transported. The bar and adjacent dining area are lovely but the patio is where's it's at. A Tuscan vibe with charming lighting hung between olive trees and a crushed granite floor one could accidently pay in euros. Our server was articulate, attentive and downright friendly-a refreshing twist for the area. Avoid at all costs the front dining room. If you are seated there - they don't love you - and you want them to like you -you really do. Menu was a bit uneven but they are new and will get there (the bar menu was lively and taxi worthy). Looking foward to going back and sharing this place with friends (good ones).
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was fun place, lots of energy, everything we ordered was great, especially the warm kale greens and the steak.
8/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
love this place
This is just one of the best places in West Hollywood. Awesome vibe and food is delicious (MUST try the sprout lollipop thingies!). Can't go wrong with Laurel Hardware.
9/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
A must dine!
I have been for both dinner and brunch and although the food was amazing both times I prefer to eat their for dinner. It was kinda slow during the afternoon and the food selection wasn't as great for vegetarians as the dinner menu. The dinner menu has some of the best dishes I have tasted in a very long time. Hopefully they will put some of those items on the day menu.
9/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Love the Patio!!
The service is generally great, food too. Can't beat the beautiful patio, especially for brunch. They make some delicious unique cocktails too, not "fancy nasty tasting" and never too sweet
9/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Chíc but accessible
Laurel Hardware ALWAYS has a line of fancy cars filled with fancier people out front. Last night, with a reservation via Open Table 2 hours prior, this not-so-VIP scored a fantastic 4top section of a shared table. My three friends and I shared everything, ate plenty of delicious food and split a VERY reasonable check. The food is creative but not esoteric (unlike this review). Utilize Open Table's remarkable access and visit this WeHo TREASURE.

Great Food! Great Service!
Lollipop sprouts are amazing! Service is great! Love the venue!
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
great food fabulous space
Went with three (guy) work colleagues and they were blown away by the experience. We ate on the back patio which was perfect for our needs. Service was super friendly and so fast. We lingered over an extra drink and we all vowed to return. Highlights for me the blistered tomatoes and sausage n rapini
9/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Romantic and modern, fun, festive
Absolutely loved this restaurant, the cool vibe, pretty el fresco dining was only outdone by great cocktails, service and food!
Yummy can't wait to go back:) great crowd there too!
9/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
We thought we had made a huge mistake.. drove up .. maybe we should find another place to eat.. walked thru the neighborhood everyone asks where are you going to dinner.. all of them said it was terrific!!!.. they all were right .. great from the minute we walked in to the last bite of dessert!!!
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great night out
Both the food and the service were incredible. Generally a hot new place is full of staff with attitude and indifference toward general patrons. Not Laurel Hardware. It is obvious the owners will not tolerate anything other than top service and great innovative food based on the "farm to table concept".
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was terrific!! However, as really good as the food is...try to get Nathan and his assistant as servers. Knowledgeable about the menu, honest and forthcoming regarding good choices and spends time with diners (not just us but all tables) to ensure that they are well served and all issues, if any, are resolved. Matter-of-fact, the whole staff is more than diligent, and the manager is engaged and involved. And, don't let the view from the front fool you.. there is a surprise and a gem inside.
If the brussel sprouts are on the menu (the chef shops for seasonal finds at local vendors and street markets. We had the very best fruit cobbler we have ever had. Highly recommend this venue. Cud go on, but no more room. A gr8 find.
10/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food, good service and great ambiance. What more could you ask?
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is more of the hot spot at the moment. The bar scene is great, food, drinks, everything is good, not great- nothing to rave about but also nothing to complain about. If you come around 10:30 or later be prepared to wait in a line. Definately book reservations ahead of time.
I have fun every time I go here but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. The ambiance is nice, well thought out theme/decor/design. It's a comfortable dine and drink spot.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food, great service and one fabulous scene! All the beautiful people were out and about.
10/16/2013 5:00:00 PM
Great hand crafted drinks & patio
The dishes are great, the patio even better, and the cocktail menu even better.
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
One of the best ever!
The Brussels sprouts, the corn in truffle butter, the halibut, the steak, the butterscotch pudding.....amazing! One of the best meals ever. Add to that the great service and darling Phil and its a winner!
Can't wait for their new restaurant to open.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Loved it and will be back soon!
I live in the neighborhood and just tried Laurel Canyon and it exceeded expectations. Great food, atmosphere, outdoor patio, bar scene. I will definately be back soon.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
great first date place
By the fading light of a relaxed Sunday evening, had great drinks and dinner with a beautiful girl. Perfection.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great new Weho spot
We enjoyed our dinner here very much. Standout dishes were the brussels sprouts (amazing) and the corn pizza. We also had a spicy salad which was good but not great. Overall we loved our experience---and the staff were all fantastic. Only negative is that much of there seating is at communal tables. I don't mind this sometimes, but I wish you could specifically reserve a non-communal table for a special night.

Yummiest Food In LA
I always look forward to going to Laural Hardware, really creative and super tasty food alongside a just-right ambience of special and casual. It doesn't hurt that everyone that works there is incredibly polite and lovely.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Absolutely loved this place.
Absolutely loved this place. The original sign for the hardware store is still out front, which is really cute. But the interior of course is not a hardware store - its a remodeled, very hip and stylish restaurant and bar that is very inviting and fun. There's an outdoor patio with views that would have been fun for drinks and dinner as well, but we sat inside and were equally happy. The crowd is young and the bar slowly but steadily filled throughout our dinner. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I'd go again in a minute.
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
Great for Sunday Brunch
We ate there recently on a Sunday, mid-afternoon. We had no trouble retting a reservation, and were seated immediately upon arrival. The food was great, the service was good. I have no complaints. I will be back.
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Perfect combination of great food, great drinks and great ambiance. Plus, you can stay after dinner and enjoy the hot bar scene!
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
My girlfriend and I have been to LH many times, this was the first time it was as "quaint" as it was. It was perfect however as we were taking out my gf's parents and did not need the "4 people deep" bar that is so common at Laurel. All and all a great night, the food was awesome and we all had a really nice visit.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
I have a great time everytime at laurel hardware easily becoming one my favorites
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great vibe, yummy eats. Butterscotch pudding was amazing.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Amazing brunch! The bacon is spot on and the chicken and biscuit is to die for. Nice little quaint place wih a great ambulance.

Fabulous and fun " Scene " !
Four of us celebrated a birthday here last Sat. I turned out being VERY happy THAT our booking was at 7:15 , as we were able to get a lovely table on the patio as requested. They are careful on the phone not to guarantee these tables , and this is probably realistic , since the place becomes a " scene " as the evening continues . For example, by the time we left around 9:30 , the patio had become a raucous " party " of over-imbibers trying to be " cool " but acting like frat boys, banging into heat lamps and chairs , so not necessarily fun when one is dining and/or not inebriated . I loved all the vegetarian dishes , but I ordered the " braised lamb " and sent it back .
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
I was so impressed with the cocktail menu at Laurel Hardware, creative and great tasting drinks. The vibe was great, the decor was pretty and our waitress was super helpful and sweet. Next time I'm in LA I'll def have to visit again.

The food here is really exceptional
The food here is really exceptional. It's worth the hype!

Dining with the pretty people
This place is a great place to take out-of-town visitors if you want to show them where the pretty LA people eat...With that said, I did really like the cocktails and the food was decent - albeit a bit expensive relative to the portion size. Although, part of me is glad the portions are small as a way to keep the diet in check. I was here twice this weekend - the first time for dinner and second time for brunch. Dinner was good. Brunch was awesome and we sat in the back patio. Food and drinks were awesome and it didn't hurt that it was a gorgeous day. Totally recommend coming here for brunch and sitting in the patio if it's a nice day.

I'm so hip
Ok, saying "I'm so hip" means: 1) I'm NOT so hip and 2) I'm old since I'm using the word "hip". BUT with that said I did feel as though I was in the middle of a scene - a good scene; something fresh, something now, something of the moment. Everyone at the restaurant (staff and diners alike) looked like they were pulled from Central Casting - the hipster, Hollywood, eclectic, beautiful, model file. You know the one. I had two out of town guests in and they enjoyed everything about the experience - especially the menu. We all enjoyed the menu. Hands down our favorite dish was the brussell spouts. I'd like them as my main course next time.
Great job guys, keep up the great work!
ps The Gangster was EVERYTHING. I am currently living for it.
