I took my parents here for
I took my parents here for their first Korean BBQ experience. It was a big hit and cooking at the table is a fun novelty.

All about the food
You go to Kang Suh for the bbq--miss the old days of live coals (gas just doesn't have the same smoky ambiance)--but the place still delivers. Service still brusque, decor not to mention--it's all about the flavors, the clarity and tang of garlic, beanpaste, and kimchi. Bring it on.

Fun to grill at table
The food is very good and we really enjoyed ourselves. The BBQ is expensive while everything else is moderately priced, so my party of 6 shared appetizers and salads and ordered 3 BBQ items. The vegetable BBQ is very copious while the meat portions are moderate. The ambiance is loud and smoky and good for parties or celebrations. One negative is there was no pricing on the menu for the drinks.
The Open table reservation worked but they at first didn't seem to find my reservation. Maybe they have to look in a separate place for it? So mention Opentable when you go.

The epitome of korean bbq
This is my standby to introduce friends to korean bbq. They were very accomodating and changed the grill cover three times so that the vegetarians were sure they were not getting meat. It is really surprising how good the marinade is on short ribs, chicken and shrimp. The vegetarian items are a bit bland and the vegetarian bbq is essentially just mushrooms. I do miss the days when you could handle the bbq yourself
