Great place. Menu very exotic
Great place. Menu very exotic and includes Italian delicacies like monkfish and clams over perfectly cooked and seasoned pasta, grilled frog legs with creamy polenta and the most delicious steak tartar I have ever had. Prices are fair for the great quality and uncommon selections, and the wine list is extensive and fun! Highly recommend - this neighborhood restaurant needs our support and deserves it for the great food!

Bravo Hostaria Piave!
This place has been our favourite Italian restaurant since we first visited it. Excellent food, very good selection of wines, great service and very nice atmosphere. There are always new choices on the menu so there is always something new to try and enjoy! Perfect way to spend an evening with your loved one and enjoy excellent food with a glass of good italian wine! Highly recommend this place!

Venice comes to Redondo
What a delight to find a restaurant of this caliber on the way home from work.
It took us quite by surprise, and we couldn't be more pleased.
Portion size was perfect, flavors were fabulous, staff was sensational, and price was well within reason.
We loved everything we tried.
Cant wait to go back!

Great meals for our group
Great meals for our group of four. Not your run of the mill Italian restaurant. Fresh pastas made with a Venetian accent. Nightly specials that rock. The owner is on the premises and his wife is the sommelier. Awesome find in the south bay.

Noisy but friendly local bistro
Attention South Bay food fans - Hostaria Piave has arrived with a Venetian Italian menu and a great Italian wine list to soothe your palate when you have a hankering for a trip to the Veneto region without leaving the confines of our Beach Cities stomping ground. The pastas are freshly-made on the premises with both a primi or entree size. We had the sea scallops seared with fresh peas and mint as an appetizer and split a pasta with fruita de mare for a primi. Then on to a fabulous grilled bone-in veal chop. If you have room for dessert, you can order it too, but home-baked cookies, served compliments of the restaurant are delivered to your table when you ask for the check. Noise level was loud, but outside seating is available.

We're going again
My girlfriend and I ate at Hostaria Piave on a Sunday which is a set menu day. Everything was tasty and pleasantly presented. We would like to go back on a different day of the week to try the full menu. I have a feeling that it would be equally as impressive.

Vidi Veni Venice
We went to the Hostaria Piave's Sunday Prix Fixe last weekend. This was our 2nd trip to the restaurant. They did not disappoint. I will rarely order Salmon, as I am more of Lamp, Pork, Beef person. But I wanted to see how the restaurant wold do. I was delighted with the out come.
Owner Angelo Calderan was very attentive and assisted my wife in selecting a wine that pair perfectly with the fish.
Hint... The guy knows his wines - you'd be foolish not to take his advice.
Even more so, if you've not yet tried this little gem... Well... That's being foolish.
Just go, eat, and be happy.

Great food, great wine, but noisy
This is a great spot for Venetian Italian style food, great wine list, etc. The hardwood floors, solid ceiling and walls can make the noise level climb quite high at times.

GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD FIND
I can't recommend Hostaria Piave enough. The owner, Angelo, is friendly and knowledgable and his food is spectacular and authentic! The gnocchi is phenomenal and clearly homemade. Don't come here looking for Southern Italian food, though, because the menu is all refined Northern Italian/Venetian and doesn't have marinara sauce or lasagna anywhere on it. PLUS, the wine list is daunting and impressive. Every aspect of the meals served at this restaurant is perfect and I have yet to find even one item into which the chefs don't pour their hearts.

The pasta was so good! We
The pasta was so good! We were here for lunch and each of us ordered pasta and we were each delighted by our dishes. Many of the dishes on the menu looked good...so I'm planning to be back soon to try some other dishes.

Northern Italy in Redondo Beach
My go to restaurant for the wonderful foods I grew up with. Great wines and appetizers for happy hour and wonderful pastas, salads seafood and meat dishes for heavier meals.

Love this restaurant, great food, owner treats you like your friend and the menu is inventive. Restaurants like this not common in the So. Bay.

Worth a visit
The food is divine. You may become a regular. Gracious host. But they need to find a way to dampen the loud noise.

Out of the ordinary Italian food
This is the best Italian restaurant in the South Bay. The food is representative of the Veneto, instead of Northern Italian or American red sauce. Every dish has been notable. Plates are smaller which lends to tasting many courses.

Authentic and amazing food
This restaurant is a number 1 in my family. Having traveled to Italy several times, it is difficult to find an eatery that captures the Italian flare and authenticity of flavors. It captures the essence to its finest with a leisurely dining experience to really enjoy each course. If you are in for a quick bite, this is not the place. However, if you want to travel to Italy for a night, go here!

We celebrated our daughter's 25th birthday and it was the perfect place to celebrate.
My daughter and her boy friend loved the place and nice atmosphere. The wine list is phenomenon and they will help you to find out your need. The waitress and water were friendly and help explain details of the menu.
We went there Sunday dinner, so they only had a set menu which was very good. We didn't have to decide anything. Everything was already set and all the choices were great. Only thing my daughter missed was home cooked pasta which that what she wanted to try. If they had even little dish of freshly made past would be nice.
We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon with good food and celebrating my daughter's birthday.

Hostaria Piave -- Top Notch
Hostaria Piave is always amazing! Food is fresh, service is 2nd to none and the atmosphere completes the perfect dining experience.

Excellent prix fixe menu
Went on a Sunday evening when they have a prix fixe menu. It was excellent. I guess that with an evening NFL game and the World Series, many people were at home. The restaurant was quite empty. The wait staff were timely and friendly. The owner came by several times. Each course was expertly prepared and delicious. The mostly Italian wine list has something for every palate and price range. I highly recommend Hostaria Piave for an outstanding Italian dining experience.

Out for a Friday night bite
Meals were very good. The restaurant is right off PCH, but based on it's construction, we never heard the traffic. We sat at an inside table. The three of us ordered based on what was recommended by the waiter and he was spot on. The lamb shank was delicious and both of the pasta meals were great. They had an extensive wine list and we enjoyed an Italian red, white and some 20 year old Churchill Port with dessert. Even though the restaurant was packed by the time we left, the service remained good as the wait staff (and perhaps the owners?) were very attentive to our needs. We'll be coming back.

My foodie friends in the neighborhood didn't know about this place, but it's excellent. Enough menu options to please everyone and all deliciously authentic-tasting Italian. Immense wine list, but our server helped us pick things out easily. Doesn't break the bank like certain hot spots in MB but the quality is nonetheless excellent. Also very very pleasing decor and ambience- contemporary, attractive, inviting.

This is Italy!
This is not your "usual" SoCal Italian Restaurant - this is Italy, right here in Redondo Beach.

A special Sunday supper
My wife and I have enjoyed Osteria Piave for several years. Each visit brings us new culinary surprise. This is especially true of the fixed-price Sunday suppers, which Angelo, the owner, changes weekly. One high point last Sunday was medallions of chicken wrapped in pancetta and served on a bed of braised cabbage. The combination of tastes was wonderful. Another favorite was the cheese plate--a blue cheese from Lombardy, as I recall, served with white polenta, which contrasted wonderfully with the rich, creamy, and pungent taste of the cheese. Enhancing any meal is the selection of wines that can be ordered by the quartino or mezzo. If you are interested in exploring the diversity of Italian cooking, try Hostaria Piave.
