BLAT for Brunch
Two of us had a nice lunch on the roof-top of the Thomas. Noticed that a few of the other tables were enjoying a huge sandwich that turned out to be the BLAT. We split this with a basket of fries and some cold adult beverages. The sandwich was a creative spin on the old BLT with an avocado. Many other items were on the brunch menu looked & sounded delicious. Except for the poor, erratic service, the food was great. Place is new & very upscale with 3 floors of eating & drinking. Definitely worth a second try to see if the wait staff have improved.

This restaurant is a great
This restaurant is a great spot for brunch or a late night drink. We love coming here and enjoying the roof top dining (but dining on the 2nd floor is just as nice!). Our favorite brunch meals are the tea smoked salmon benedict and the banana/nutella French toast.

Loved it! The only thing...
My meat wasn't prepared correctly, so I had to send it back while the rest of my party ate. Too rare. The server was so nice and didn't make me feel bad for asking it to be cooked more.

Came Back and was happy I did
I was apprehensive to return to The Thomas after a not so great meal a few months ago.
Boy was I glad that I did. Everything was wonderful. My firend and I wanted time to catch up and not be hurried during our meal. The waitress was very cognizant of that. The drinks were terrirfic. I ordered the gnocci and it was light, presented beautifully and delicious. The Thomas is back on my go-to list.

Worth the drive
Planned a couples double date night out. Half of the group drove from El Dorado Hills, the other half from Lafayette. I found this gem while looking for places to dine that neither halves had experienced before. The ambiance was pleasing to the eye. The restaurant size is cozy, not cramped. The wait staff was friendly and extremely attentive. The food and cocktails were fabulous. The only negative was that the subwoofer to the sound system was located under/behind our corner booth. However, once were were half way thru our first round of cocktails, we didn't notice the bass thumping from the hip music. Oh, thumbs up for the hip, danceable music selection too. We will be back!

It was my birthday and I had wanted to visit this restaurant. I love how much history of that building was retained during the remodel while transforming it into a fresh and modern space. The terrace has an amazing view which may also be enjoyed inside on the second floor. The food was amazing as were the specialty drinks we ordered. My dessert came with no embarrassing song but a classy "Happy Birthday" written in dark chocolate on my plate! I felt so spoiled!!! I will be back!

WOW - great spot
fabulous spot for drinks for dinner or both! we did both, started at the bar then made our way up to the roof top for a birthday celebration dinner - the Thomas was also celebrating their 1 year anniversary - if they keep this up they will be celebrating many more. keep up the great work

Summer Roof dining is great
Great burger, excellent salads, some of the entrees are too pricey
service can be erratic as the place fills up.
There's a bar on the 1st and 3rd floor so diners are integrated into the bar crowd which gets crowded as it gets later.
Good wine list and recommendations

We went here for our Anniversary and couldn't be happier with our choice! We were well taken care of, and the food was great! We were very impressed with our service-the staff went out of their way to make us feel special, in addition to being friendly and just knowing their stuff! We were not rushed and felt the pace was nice and relaxing. Perfect portions, flavors, and food/drink selections!
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
We ate here last weekend with a group of 6. Everything we had was amazing. All of the salads we had were delicious. Asparagus, summer melon, caprese. Seafood tower was fresh, scallops were amazing, pork chop full of flavor. It was a birthday for one of our friends and our waiter ( who was SO fun and charming) brought out a huge platter of donuts with 'Happy Birthday" written in chocolate. We had a great time, the atmosphere is fun and fresh in a lovely old building. The only negative was the corkage fee..we felt $25 was a bit steep. Definitely try this place the next time you are in Napa....great addition to the old standards.

one of my favorites in Napa
I have dined at THE THOMAS several times and would go back again. The food is always delicious, with a twist on the usual. Service professionally friendly. When weather allows, dining on the roof level is the place to be.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our first experience at The Thomas. It lived up to our expectations. The food was delicious. Service was wonderful, and the ambiance exceeded our expectation. We dined on the third level outside balcony. It was wonderful to be outside and overlooking Main Street.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were in Napa for the weekend to celebrate my 50th birthday and hadn't made plans for the big night itself. I picked The Thomas on a hunch over some more recognizable options, and could not have been more pleased with the resulting experience. We began with some of the unique specialty cocktails; I had the Garden Daquiri, which was refreshing and very tasty. Since it was Sunday evening, we were able to choose the family-style supper which The Thomas serves only that night. We all elected for it and we couldn't have been happier with the scallop salad, to-die-for beef ribs, and accompanying vegetables, etc. which were included. The dessert - a sort of fruit and meringue concoction, was scrumptious. And it's a beautiful space.
8/17/2013 5:00:00 PM
Went for a walk an wound up at the Thomas bar rooftop. What a great spot. great view music and a loads of fun. After a while we stayed for an unplanned dinner which was great. Pork Chop and halibut was fantastic. dessert was yummy. Crew was from Brooklyn and we had a blast . Try it you'll enjoy yourself. A winner.

Character and Service!
I love how this restaurant has three levels: a bar and tavern on the first floor, an elegant restaurant on the second, and a fabulous bar and outdoor patio on the third. The service staff is exceptional and very attentive and the food does not disappoint. This restaurant is worth a visit again, and again, and again.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
I brought some new friends and we all were impressed with high level of service and the excellence of the food. Several of us had the Pork Chop and agreed it was one of the best ever! I plan to come back in Sept with some more friends and gain you even more fans!
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were visiting for a long weekend and The Thomas was recommended by friends. The service really stood out. Our server was really nice and gave us the perfect amount of attention versus space. The wine manager spent about 10 minutes with us picking a great bottle of wine. All of the support staff was great as well. The food was all delicious, my wife and I shared the asparagus, the grilled squid, the filet with the truffle potato and the doughnuts for dessert. We sat on the second floor but the balcony looked great too, overall the ambiance was terrific. I would recommend this place to anyone and we would definitely go back.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Superb dining with friendly
Superb dining with friendly attentive service. The noise level was a bit more than we expected, or were comfortable with, but certainly did not outweigh the wonderful dining experience

Excellent Experience, Great Lunch
My partner and I flew in from Orange Co. Fri. staying in Sacramento, we drove to Napa Valley on Sat. We had a little time before lunch and thought we'd have a drink at the bar before eating. We loved the bar area so much we decided to have our lunch there instead of upstairs. Robert our Bartender was great, very knowledgeble about Bartending. You can tell he loved what he does. We decided to have one of his Pimms Gin creations, very refreshing for a warm day. The decor of the bar has the old time historic feel to it, old bottles, articles, original receipts, deer mountings. We started with the East Coast Oysters as an appetizer then we both had the Burger and Fries for lunch, make it special, have them add the egg and cheese, well worth it.
8/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
Dinner was amazing
We had dinner here this week, and it was not our first time here. The menu had completely changed, and we were delighted with the unique and inventive offerings there were. We had a hard time choosing, but went with eating all appetizers. We had the salmon tartare, melon salads, mushroom pate, and the grilled asparagus. The wines and cocktails were also terrific, especially, the Ehlers Sauvignon Blanc. The service was excellent, and we had a wonderful time.
9/3/2013 5:00:00 PM
I have had lunch twice there and both times it was wonderful good food, atmosphere and very accommodating help.
9/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had an exceptionally wonderful time at the Thomas. It was our anniversary, and I made reservations five days in advance. We arrived and were escorted to the roof deck to a table in the corner with a view of the valley. Their special that night was a new york steak, which—with the bone marrow sauce—was easily the best steak I've ever had in my life. They even gave us a surprise glass of champagne after our meal. 10/10.

Good food, good service, great view
We tried The Thomas for the first time for Friday night dinner. We requested rooftop seating but it wasn't available, but we were happy with our 2nd floor window table, which had a great view of the river. We looked at the rooftop, but found it very noisy due to the bar; 2nd floor was much quieter, and is beautifully decorated.
We split the veggie appetizer (special). It came with a wonderful Baba Ganoush. My wife had Halibut, which was slightly overcooked, but its sauce was wonderful. I had mussels (special) which were fantastic.
Service was slow but sure. I never got a spoon for my mussels sauce, and the discard bowl was too small. The waiter promised to empty if frequently, but that never happened.
Wine list was good but expensive.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good inventive dishes, excellent
Good inventive dishes, excellent service. A bit pricey, but it is downtown Napa.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was our third time dining at the Thomas. We were celebrating our 11th anniversary, which I added when making the reservation. Not only did we have a fabulous dinner but the staff surprised us with two complimentary glasses of sparkling wine with dessert. The dessert chef added Happy Anniversary in choolate on the plate. Although small touches, they were meaningful to us. In all of our dining experiences at The Thomas, the staff have been very accomodating and the service is a cut above. The combination of great food and excellent service is refreshing.

Food was nothing special I
Food was nothing special I felt like it was a little to price for what we ordered. I would recommend to try it but will I visit again probably not. I think you can only do this restaurant once a year. Chicken was good just very small portions.

Sunday Mid-day Pleasure
Thomas@Fagiani's is a real surprise;what looks like a street front bar in downtown Napa is a high quality outdoor dining venue on the third floor. Sunday brunch menu (beveridge and food) is limited but offers real variety; unique selections and a delightful setting make for a memorable brunch. We have been several times and will return to try menu items we could not try.
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Kale salad with toasted pumpkin seeds was perfect
And the dounts for a fun finish just warm and dreamy
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is a beautiful restaurant.
This is a beautiful restaurant. All floors are designed well and show great character. We were fortunate enough to be seated at the roof top for a 6:00 reservation. It was a gorgeous day in the Valley. The service, ambience and food were excellent. Definitely will be back. Only negative is that although the staff will try their best for a roof top table they will not guarantee it. This is too bad. The middle floor which has the inside dinning was very quaint and would have been nice too but I think we would be have been disappointed if we were planning for the roof top and didn't get it.
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything here is amazing and you'll never have a bad meal. Try the burger and fries: their house blend of dry aged Angus and Kobe beef on a brioche bun with bacon-onion jam - get it with the Fiscalini farmstead cheddar or a fried egg - it makes a great lunch! Best Donuts ever! = Warm cinnamon sugar doughnuts with vanilla cream and black pepper strawberry sauce. This place is perfect for brunch, they have seating upstairs in their balcony which offers a beautiful view of Napa. You can come here for dinner with a group of friends or make a romantic evening with your significant other - either way its a homerun! They have a pretty poppin bar with yum drinks and a tasty bar menu too! This Fitfoodie is a faithful fan of The Thomas!
10/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
We started off with great cocktails at the bar while we waited for our table. A fun and very different rhubarb, gin gimlet and a cucumber non-alcoholic one, both were excellent.
We sat upstairs but inside which was just as well as it was exceedingly windy. We had wanted to eat on the roof but you have to reserve early to sit up there and we made our booking at the last minute.
Great pork chop, OK salmon. The service seemed rather slow. The guys that came in after us were served their food before us.
However, we were not in a hurry so I guess that was OK.
10/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, great location.
Loved the fried egg on my burger!!! And the waitstaff and management were wonderful!!!
10/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Outdoor Dining is a Must
The food and service was terrific, but if you can land an outdoor seating, grab it....what a cool and hip atmosphere and it really enhanced a great meal.
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
We travel to Napa quite frequently and have done the Ox Bow restaurants, Fish Story, Zu Zu, Celladon, etc. so we wanted something new and good and we weren't let down. The striped bass was incredible, perfectly pan seared. Other reviewers complain about the service but, for a Saturday night, the service was great. Our cocktail order arrived in no time. Our salads also arrived very quickly and the wait staff was very attentive. However, the kitchen was a bit slow but, again, for a Saturday night, I was not disappointed. The bar downstairs was very loud but, as soon as we got upstairs, the music faded to background noise, barely audible over the din of the restaurant but, Led Zeppelin? Really? Overall, a great experience and great food.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
Have seen the roof top umbrellas for the past year, so I thought I would give it a try. Day was perfect and the Asian Pear Salad was nice and lite for a relaxing afternoon Lunch. Great Service will return soon.

Amazing food & drinks
From walking down the street, the place doesn't say much. However once inside it's a whole new story. We shared the Truffled Portobello mushroom mousse with whiskey jelly and grilled sourdough as appetizer; my husband had the Heritage pork chop with roasted apple, goat cheese polenta crouton, red cabbage and fennel slaw, toasted pistachios and maple yogurt (best one ever!) and I had The Thomas burger & fries: blend of dry aged Angus and Kobe beef on a brioche bun with bacon onion jam. This is not your typical burger. Although it looks small the portion is perfect, and the bacon and onion jam gives it an additional kick of flavor. Blue cheese mayo for the fries was great. Cocktails are fantastic, great for mixology lovers.
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great for lunch!
We had lunch here almost everyday for a whole week. The flat bread is so delicious and it changes daily so it's never boring! We also earned 1000 points each time we dined as well for lunch.
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
A quaintly decorate and somewhat
A quaintly decorate and somewhat funky rdstaurant on the Napa waterfront. Unusual but sophisticated combination of flavors in each dish. I had the pork chop. It was well flavored and cooked perfectly. Our waiter Kayla was a delight and very helpful with the menu. It all worked for a very pleasant evening.

Not sure why i waited so long
I've lived in Napa for 35 years. All that time I waited for Fagiani's to reopen. And it has as The Thomas. Saturday birthday brunch on the rooftop with long time friends (over 30 years) was a wonderful place to celebrate. The food was delicious, the view spectacular and the weather on a fall afternoon was perfect. I'll be back just "because". i won't need an occasion to return. I have to say: their donuts rival Boonfly's donuts. Yummy!
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
We celebrated our anniversary
We celebrated our anniversary here. They complimented us with champagne when we were seated. Do try the BLAT bacon, lettuce, avocado tomato sandwich which was amazing on delicious bread. Service was professional and friendly. Beautiful view on their patio.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Cocktail and doughnut pairing?!?!!
This place is a foodies' delight. Staff is highly skilled and friendly without being gooey and cloying. Everything brought to our table was stupendous. We followed a suggestion for a pisco sour cocktail. Then were treated to fresh doughnuts from their kitchen. Doughnut pairings? - you bet and it was wonderful. We recommend the tea-smoked salmon. Decor is as interesting as the food. Already made plans to go back. Don't miss this one if you're headed to Napa.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good food. Knowledgeable servers. Great location in downtown Napa. Fun night with a party of 6 people. All our meals were excellent
10/31/2013 5:00:00 PM
Very good food, but noisy
We had dinner reserved for 8:15 on a Saturday night. We weren't seated until almost 9 because the previous diners lingered too long. The downstairs is a renovated bar with the typical younger crowd enjoying themselves. The restaurant is directly overhead, and the combination of the noise downstairs and the shouting diners upstairs made the evening less than enjoyable. The food is excellent, but the ambience isn't -- at least on Saturday night. After an hour or so, most of the diners had left, so the end of the meal was fine. By the way, service is excellent.
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Interesting and Delicious
The menu is eclectic but everything was delicious. I would recommend this to those interested in trying something new. Odd things are on the menu like Brussel Sprout Leaves (?!), but the waiter was very friendly and willing to describe everything. The only minus is that like most new restaurants, this one opted for the type of acoustics that supposedly reflect high energy, but we found ourselves shouting at one another to be heard. What did you say?!
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great brunch spot
Food was perfectly prepared, generous in portion and served with panache. If this was in San Francisco the lines would be out the door. A great find.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Like the dinners. Love the brunch.
Downtown Napa is hopping. I could name 6 or 8 good places for dinner: Angele, Morimoto, Oenotri, etc. The Thomas would be on that list. But for brunch, it's the best. French Toast stuffed with Nutella. A pancake that is sort of corn bread/pancake with berries.
And sit on the top floor terrace with a view of the river and the town. One of my Napa favorites.
11/16/2013 4:00:00 PM
Not of the Slow Food Genre
The evening was a bit disappointing compared to other visits, but still had its moments. The restaurant is not of the slow food, local ingredients philosophy. They served "sustainably farmed Atlantic salmon from Nova Scotia" (think of the carbon footprint on that one), and oysters from New Brunswick. They were good, but there are better local aternatives. The pork chop was dry, overcooked, and the maple syrup was not a good accompaniment. The salad was very good, and the service attentive and courteous. The wine list is decent.
11/17/2013 4:00:00 PM
Every bite at The Thomas was impeccable, and my wife and I cannot wait to recommend this restaurant to others seeking to have a New York City style dining experience but with California cuisine menu principles and quality of ingredients. The aesthetic of the restaurant, from the restored local bar downstairs to the downtown tiles of the dining room upstairs, was very cool without trying too hard. The food's preparation was flawless, and the staff members were knowledgeable, friendly, and unobtrusive. We will go back, and we will bring others!
11/29/2013 4:00:00 PM
Best meal ever
Treated by friendly staff. Bar maid was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. There was no pressure to hurry, very congenial. Dinner was prepared exactly as stated on the menu. I had the fillet which was butter knife tender ( I actually used a butter knife, there were no steak knives served:), cooked to perfection and extremely tasty . The onion that came with the steak was amazing! I would highly recommend the Brussels Sprouts, the best I've ever had!
All in all, a bit pricy for my budget but very well worth it. I would highly recommend Fagiani's!
12/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
Everything was good at The Thomas... except they don't know how to make an Irish Coffee. Oh the cocktails were very good, but an old favorite on a really cold night was not so good. Also, since the place has such a great history, it might be good if the waitpersons knew it.
