Perfect spot for dinner and a show
Overall a fantastic evening. Go on a Sunday or Tuesday night for the show. Small plates for dinner were all great, and reasonably priced. Wine/beer list is concise, but leaves something to be desired. Specialty cocktails were all great & well thought out. The theme of the entire place was well executed, & a great place to enjoy some cocktails and a night out with friends. Service was pleasant & quick, & great suggestions were made. A great adults only venue, can't wait to catch the next show.

I came here with 7 of my girlfriend
I came here with 7 of my girlfriends and we had a blast. Both the drinks and food were awesome especially for small plate sharing. I will definitely be back - reservations recommended.

Why no joe?
Food was great, service left something to be desired. Waitress was lot less attentive than our previous visits, though her bussing staff were all on point. And c'mon, you're affiliated with a coffee bar but can't even put a pot of coffee or an espresso together for dinner guests? Turning the coffee bar in to a coat check seems like a cop out.

My wife and I had reservations
My wife and I had reservations to take our visiting parents here for a few drinks. We had been here previously much later at night (no reservations) but it was so busy and noisy that we decided not to stay since that wasn't what we were looking for on that occasion.
Prices were not really any higher than you find elsewhere in Manhattan, and here I didn't mind paying them for the tasty wonders of mixology that we were served. "El Diablo" was my favorite drink of the evening, but the Storm Chaser was also good. There is also a great selection of liquors to enjoy by themselves or on ice. I don't drink a lot of different kinds of rum but I will say that my dad ordered the smoothest rum I have ever tasted (Starr African Rum). We will be back!

Great find in Cheslsea
Perfect place to go for a few drinks on a week night. Its a speak easy so you go through a tiny coffee shop front and end up in another world. The staff are amazing, beyond helpful, definitely listen to their recommendations. They make sure everyone is seen to for such a personal experience. Food and drinks are grogeous. Go, its such a place.

Bathtub Gin is a speakeasy near the Joyce Theatre, hidden behind a coffeeshop. It is deliciously over the top, and exudes good humor and excess. Loved the Gin Gin mule. A bit loud for our party of six, since we were seated on couches a bit far apart for easy conversation, but the banquettes make for great tete a tete's or assignations. The most fun we've had at a bar in a while. Plus the small plates were tasty.

Don't listen to the negative review
I recently had dinner and drinks at Bathtub gin, the service was amazing our 2 waitresses couldn't do enough for us. This place was very cool and I can't wait to go back for the show. Whatever you do don't listen to the negative reviews!

At last. Etta James would deem Bathtub Gin her divine hangout.
The vintage cocktails rock your cranium and then some. Of course, you can't drink without bites! Bites that melt and savor every taste bud you have remaining. I recommend the Kobe miniburgers followed my pork tacos with guacmkle. I said God damn!
Service is impeccable and infallable. Not to mention, a witty magic show followed by sultry, stunning burlesque performances!
See you soon!

No address on door which makes this place even more interesting. Small bake shop in front and then you walk through the back door to a time around 80 years ago but with an energetic and eclectic vibe. The wait staff is super friendly and warm and is willing to help and explain each and every drink on the menu. Shout out to our server Sarah...patient and gracious. The one concern I do have is that I could see myself sitting there ALL night, enjoying the music, the cocktails and the atmosphere as it is just a lot of fun. A special place.

Stylish "speakeasy" accessed through an unassuming coffee shop. Cocktails are creative and well-made, and the food is delicious (be aware when ordering that the cheese and meat portions are unexpectedly generous!). Great place to impress a date or out-of-town guest, without looking too pretentious. Recommend making a resie ahead of time to ensure a table.

We loved every minute at Gin Bathtub and look forward to repeating it on future visits to NYC. Definitely lived up to the hype.

Hidden behind a storefront, Bathtub Gin works the prohibition-era vibe from before you enter. Great staff (very friendly), 1920s-decor, and great service add to the scene, which quickly fills with 20- and 30-somethings. The menu is tapas-style, with portions great for sharing. Prices are reasonable, and the food is great. Worth the visit.

Great late-night spot...
Bathtub Gin does a great job of creating a "hip" gathering place for a late night cocktail.

While the table seating is cozy it seems like each table is private for you and your group.

Went to Bath Tub Gin with my friend who'd flown in for the weekend and I wanted something different for her to experience. Staff were very friendly and the place ended up being very busy. Neat place and I would definitely go back. Small plates and food was good - gnocchi was excellent.

A real Favourite
Steve, Nicki & staff are so friendly at this intimate favorite. They make you feel special and as if you are their only patron & on return visits welcome us with open arms, just like coming home. A perfect secret, intimate local number 1.

Out to impress?
I was a little concerned taking some out of town visitors to Bathtub Gin for dinner as was told by a friend it was more of a drinking den. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the sharing plates were and can only assume my friend had never eaten here. The shrimp & chorizo skewers were do juicy, and the short rib sliders were melt in the mouth.
As someone who doesn't often drink gin, I can highly recommend the sloe gin signature cocktail.
Great decor & ambiance. Definitely the place to go if your out to impress.

Great speakeasy restaurant! Thought we had got the address wrong because it is hidden behind a coffee shop! So fun! Great food ambiance an service! Will definitely be back!

Whimsical & Fun Speakeasy
This whimsical speakeasy is great fun and you are transformed with the 20's decor. The service was attentive. The drinks seem to be modern twists on throwback drinks served like the tasty mezcal cucumber drink and the Hemingway daquiri was so refreshing. The food was hit or miss. The good dishes were the hummus platter, the gnocchi was scrumptious and the tuna tacos were very appetizing. The burger sliders were a hit. The lesser dishes were the cheeses lacked sophistication, the lobster rolls lacked flavor and the dip it was served with was not tasty or compatitble and the french fries were just weak. The lively and eclectic music was a bit too loud which made it hard to talk but was fun.

A nice warm bath... Of gin
Great drinks, delicious food (at least the small plates we ordered) and fairly prompt service. Depending on the day and time you go, you could have a quiet/romantic setting or a more lively (noisy) atmosphere. I prefer the former, but it's a great place either way.

Back in time
A great time warp in the Chelsea neighborhood. Attentive and friendly staff. Great ambiance.

Step back to prohibition
I admit to being a little weary standing at the door of the coffee shop showing my drivers license, but once the secret door opened I crossed a porthole into the 1920's. Sitting in a large banquet with Tiffany lamps and a brass tub large enough for 2, we drooled over the drink menu and savored mini tuna tartar tacos (so cute and delicious) . The risotto was to die for-salmon a little undercooked. I will return for jazz nite, the follies, or just because.

Speakeasy Burlesque-need I say more
This place is awesome! The best night has to be Sunday nights when they have a live Burlesque show on the main floor. Hint: Make a reservation to ensure great tables for the show...otherwise you'll be standing uncomfortably. The decor of this place is incredible...you will feel like you went back in time. The Bartenders take pride in their drinks and its a show just to watch them make them...true craft cocktails mixologists!

Bathtub Gin was fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and energetic. The drinks were amazing and excellently crafted. I was with a group of 5, and every single one of us still raves. What's great about this place, is that they allow you to take pictures and capture you memories - even in their giant brass tub in the middle of the room! That's very refreshing to hear other than, 'Sorry no photographs inside!" I will definitely be coming back!

This restaurant was absolutely incredible! The drinks and food were amazing! The food was so different and unique with incredible flavors! The waitress Anna that we had was excellent. She had a great personality and was so bubbly and happy! Overall this was an amazing restaurant and such a unique experience! Definitely recommend this place!

Book a table, sit back and enjoy!
I went with my husband for a few cocktails, to also discover a selection of delicious small plates. I highly recommend the gnocchi. Drinks were great and service was great - then the cherry on tip was the burlesque show, very entertaining.
Prices aren't cheap but well worth it for a special night out. Oh and be sure to book a table, standing room didn't look so great.
