We went at 2pm on Saturday
We went at 2pm on Saturday afternoon so it was very peaceful inside. Our server was FANTASTIC! This was our 2nd visit. We have had the same waitress both times and go back not only for the amazing food but to see her.

Good for Foodies
My wife and I have eaten at Cafe Aion three times. I like it; she's okay with it (she prefers full meals rather than small plates). The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The menu consists of usual foods prepared in unusual - and mostly pleasing - ways. A good place for foodies, with interesting flavors and preparation. The wine list is quite adequate and reasonably priced, and offers wines that you don't find on a lot of other wine lists. I've never been disappointed in our wine selection there. Cafe Aion is in an older building, so in the winter the seats near the windows can be a bit cold. Try to get a table near the fireplace. All in all, we'll continue to go to Cafe Aion a couple times a year when we're doing something on campus.

Food was top notch!
A pleasant surprise for us. The service was exceptional and so was the food.

Great food, Friendly service, slow
Went with the family for Sunday brunch. Staff was friendly and accommodating. All the food was excellent, from the chocolate croissants to the spanish eggs -- all with a bit of spice and flair. Only complaint was that the food took a very long time to come out -- good thing we weren't in a hurry. Would go back again.

My new favorite place to dine
Somewhat "off the beaten path" of the downtown Pearl St. Mall and up on the Hill (which has never been notable for fine dining establishements!), I have been pleasantly suprised to find such a wonderful establishment. Food/ambiance/service all excellent.

we all enjoyed a lovely meal outside on a beautiful night. the food- tapas, paella and sangria were great. They were very good about our special requests and even made us doughnuts for dessert. What a treat. We loved it all.

We came on a lark while visiting
We came on a lark while visiting Boulder. Looking for something a little different, we were pleasantly surprised to find an upscale restaurant on the hill. The folks were accommodating and the menu variety was interesting; great for tapas. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the people watching and cross section of the university community that appears to congregate here.

Always a winner
Aion is always a top pick whether it is simply my husband and I or a larger group of friends. Great food and service. A Boulder staple.

Great Boulder Hill alternative
Aion is a very nice alternative for dining on the "Hill" in Boulder. Smallish restaurant with very attentive and friendly service. The fried cauliflower and dolmas (appetizers), paella (main course) and "plate of little treats" (dessert) were all very good to excellent. The filling in the dolmas was not traditional, but excellent. The paella had a wonderful flavor though didn't quite have the socarrat (the layer of toasted rice on the bottom that a traditional paella should have), so was very good with room to be excellent. Will definitely go back in a future visit to Boulder.

Great Food, Friendly Staff
Our experience at Cafe Aion was superb. Everyone was friendly, knowledgable and fun. The food was excellent. We look for places to try new food and new combinations of tastes. Cafe Aion met all our expectations. We felt like important guests from start to finish.

Aion is always lovely
Wonderful service, fresh food and sangria that reflects our local fruits. I love this place!

Great Food Slowly
Although I booked a table for 5, we were shown to a table for 4 and the waiter at first wanted us to bunch up on one side before we insisted on an extra chair. We ordered tapas and paella which they told us would take 35 minutes, but after an hour we were given a free bottle of wine and an apology (but no explanation) and the paella was delivered a half hour later with no silverware. They seemed to not have enough wait staff on a Wednesday night. But the food was delicious.
We have been several times to Cafe Aion and will continue to do so, but maybe with an open mind about how long it might take to finish our meal.

Great place on The Hill!
Cafe Aion is a terrific find on University Hill. It has an interesting menu, including small dishes, and certainly something for everyone. Service was excellent with Chaundra as our friendly, attentive, and professional wait person. Food was very tasty with some interesting takes on traditional dishes. We ate outside on the patio, which was lovely with shade. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but everything we tried was very well prepared and somewhat unique. We will definitely return!

Perfect Pre-Reading Meal
My friend Kate was reading at Innisfree, so Aion was the perfect place for a light meal and good choice of wines. We enjoyed the small plates and one regular entree. The service was prompt and friendly.

hidden on the hill
after hearing a lot about this place we finally decided to give it a try when the lady of the house decided she wasn't in the mood for our reservations at Frasca. When we arrived we ran into some friends who ended up joining us making our group a 5 instead of 2. The staff was fantastic about the last minute change in pace and we were taken great care of.
We didn't know it was Happy Hour all night which was a nice surprise, so we ordered one of each of the Happy Hour food items. Everything we had was delicious. I continued on to a burger that was perfectly cooked and seriously delicious. we were almost the last ones out and will certainly be returning at a more appropriate hour. Definitely a new addition to the regular rotation for us.

Paella and wine night is amazing
Go on Wed. nights for a large pan of very delicious paella and a bottle of wine, it is a good deal and makes for a wonderful night. The paella takes 45 minutes so order 1 or 2 of their amazing appetizers and enjoy your wait! My favorite apps are the pumpkin fritters and the fried cauliflower, yum!

We usually avoid "The Hill"
Do to the location of this place we had our reservation about checking it out. We really never go to "The Hill" we just don't like the whole college area for social reasons.
This place was really nice, we'd go back again and the street it was on was really cute.

A pleasant surprise
I recently read a review of Cafe Aion in a local publication. Four of us decided to visit Cafe Aion on a weeknight. We were not disappointed. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was interesting and delicious. We ordered three appetizers: the anchovies on toast, fried cauliflower, and Manchego cheese with plums soaked in red wine. Each appetizer was tasty and interesting. I could have eaten all the fried cauliflower myself. We ordered the evening special which was Paella for four including a featured bottle of wine. The quantity and quality of the paella was perfect. The four of us were pleased with our choices and will plan another visit to Cafe Aion soon.

A neighbor brought me and we had a wonderful meal. Love the cauliflower and will go back for more. I would never know it was tucked away there.

Tapas and drinks
Cafe Aion had a nice warm and quiet atmosphere. Very small and romantic. The colors and smell of the food was appealing. I like the two servers they worked together well and were attentive. The food tasted good and seemed very healthy. Liked the dessert with real whipped cream and pears.

The service and the food were delicious! The pastries and donut served up during the weekend brunch were decadent!
I would highly recommend this and cannot wait to go back and try their dinner/tapas menu.

I wanted a cozy, intimate dinner without getting too fussy. Cafe Aion was perfect. Service is always outstanding and the food delicious. A great date spot where sharing plates is fun.

Something different on the hill
Cafe Aion has an old-world trattoria/bistro feel and a lively neighborhood atmosphere. Food was scrumptious and the staff was prepared for any alternatives to using First Bite Boulder menu and the regular one. Staff was informed about the food and drinks on offer, responsive when anything was not quite right.

Enjoyed an awesome First Bite
Enjoyed an awesome First Bite Boulder meal. Can't wait to go back to try dishes from their regular menu.

Another great evening at Café Aion which is sort of a hidden gem in Boulder because it's located on the Hill. Dakota, the chef, turns out creative but not overwhelming plates, big & small, that are terrific. Some recent stand-outs include braised duck and the fabulous quinoa salad. Nice and reasonable wine, spirits and beer list.

We don't get out much these days due to little ones at home so we tend to patronize our favorite local restaurants, but based on the recommendation of a friend we wanted to try Cafe Aion. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone in our party was still talking about our dinner the next day. This will definitely be added to our shortlist of favorites moving forward!
