Too many restaurant menus
Too many restaurant menus today impose a struggle to find two entrees worth ordering. At Andiamo's, you have to eliminate many to select just two, with a quick mental review of your calendar to determine when you can come back to try the others. We started with Fried Calamari, which we try at every Italian restaurant we've ever visited. We were very surprised when the plate was presented with no sauce. None was needed. Cooked to perfection, extremely tasty. Our chicken with proscuitto and Marsala sauce was wonderful, as was the veal with brandy cream sauce. A great wine list heavy on the Italian reds was a delight, with a grand Montepulciano for only $40. Overall a great night out.

Fabulous flavors, portions a bit sm
Terrific food, though portions tend on the small side. The fennel salad with truffle oil and walnut is spectacular. Appetizers are not large enough to share. This is a great neighborhood gem that provides very authentic Italian food and true Italian flavors.

Definitely coming back!
My husband and I enjoyed our evening at Andiamo. The food was terrific. We started with the fried calamari with anchovy. Spectacular. Followed with the shaved fennel salad which we decided to share and the waiter served it on two plates--very thoughtful. I had the shrimp Luci Johnson for the entrée and it was very flavorful. My husband had the veal ravioli and he said it was very tasty---good pasta on the ravioli. He had the cheesecake for dessert but he said it was average. The only mild disappointment was no wine by the glass. The two of us were not in the mood for a bottle. But that is not a deal breaker for us. I will come again if for the calamari alone.

Authentic Italian Food. Mussels and Calamari appetizers were both fantastic. My main course, the scallops were delicious.

A nice place for a special occasion
I took a friend to Andiamo for her birthday dinner. I, unfortunately, had to reschedule about 3 times, but they always answered instantly each time and they made an effort to sound happy to hear from me. The food was very good. I ate the best fish I've ever had in my life at this restaurant. The only strange thing seemed to be the location of the restaurant; it is in an unsuspecting location, but this is not a show stopper. I highly recommend Andiamo Restorante if you have a date or special occasion coming up :).

Romantic and satisfying
We have enjoyed Andiamo for years. The staff's hospitality makes one feel warmly welcomed and cared for from the outset. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. The menu items are authentic Italian items and there is something for every palate. Our server was attentive and personable and we received our food hot and timely. We love this spot to celebrate special occasions in our life. We got engaged at Andiamo's!

Best Italian in Austin Texas
This little restaurant tucked away in an obscure strip center just south of the Domain and off Burnet Road, has the most amazing food in town. It's small and quiet but the food will knock you over with flavor. We've been there several times and have never been disappointed once. The "chef's special" at $65.00 per person is the most amazing 5 course dinner.....however you cannot be rushed if you do this because it will take about 2 hours. Only participate in this venture if you have a whole evening to spare and your entire table participates!!!!! It's long between courses! The regular menu is wonderful. The ravioli is outstanding as is the fish stew! Best I've ever eaten and have travelled all over Italy!

Date night, per-theater dinner
Wait staff was very attentive. Lucy Johnson dish was excellent as well as the trout. First time dining at Andiamo, was not disappointed and will definitely be back.

This is, quite simply, one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten at. The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The quality of restaurant isn't what you'd expect to find in a strip mall. This restaurant could easily hold it's own in downtown Austin.

Handled Special Request Easily
Had not been to Andiamo for a while but decided to go for a birthday dinner. The waiter (Fabio) went through the specials with no mention of a Risotto special, which they had always had in the past. I expressed disappointment as I really love good Risotto. We were told they now usually only do Risotto on the weekend but a quick after a check with the chef said they could do it as long as we were willing to wait the 35 minutes it takes to prepare from scratch. With a shared salad, a split appetizer and some good wine to fill the time, we were more than willing. And it was totally worth the wait as the combination of their homemade sausage and mixed mushrooms was wonderful.
Mille Grazie Andiamo.
We will be back again and again.

Best kept secret
We've been eating here for years. It is in the most unlikely of places, but so worth it.

The owners have done a great job with decor and layout. What might have been an ordinary rectangular space is visually appealing, and tables are nicely separated.
As for the cuisine: My insalata di finocchio and vitello saltimbocca were delicious. My wife didn't fare as well. Her otherwise excellent insalata di pesche was made with tasteless Texas peaches (we have never found them to be otherwise); and her otherwise excellent trota alla griglia needed garlic to rescue it from blandness. Desserts: tiramisu, good but nothing special; bocconotti, excellent but for the overcooked edges of the ravioli. Andiama Ristorante does enough things right to merit at least one more visit.

Great Italian Cooking
Since there is not much good Italian cooking in Austin, Andiamo should be on the list of "musts." Food is excellent, and ambiance is as good as it can be when the site is a strip mall. You don't know that from the inside, but it's a bit unsettling when you first come upon it. But don't let the outside fool you! This is real Italian cooking, full of flavor and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a treasure in the Austin food scene.

I enjoyed a spinach-endive salad and had a scallop appetizer for my meal. They had an extensive wine list and the bread was excellent. Will definitely return.

Reminded us of Italy
Having just traveled there we were eager to recreate at least a close approximation to the delicious italian food we had experienced. Andiamo did not disappoint and the Fall menu had just been introduced. Great date spot and we will be returning.

great meal. again
food is always top notch. they have changed up their wait staff recently. our gal was interesting and fun, but a little on the inappropriate side in some of comments and responses to our questions. A little too 'LA' for my tastes.

Great food for foodies!
Our food was exceptional. I will be back. That said, I'm hoping to have a more enthusiastic and knowledgable server. If the service is as bad next time, I'll think twice about going a third time. The food was so delicious though, it deserves another trip.

We didn't want to have my birthday dinner in a noisy overcrowded restaurant, so my wife chose Andiamo on a week night. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive but not obtrusive. The food was perfect. Try the soup of the day.

Neighborhood gem and great food.
Although located in a strip center, Andiamo has all the appearances of a neighborhood eatery which it is but it also a first class Italian restorante. Good food, atmosphere, service although not cheap by any means. You pay for less than what you get.
