Great dining experience
The restaurant has really pulled itself together. Our waiter was wonderful. The pitcher of Martina's and the set up was fantastic. It was still restaurant week so we were able to enjoy samples of their best including a fantastic halibut. It was all a very fun evening. My only negative was a screaming brat in the restaurant. This restaurant, of all the ones in the desert, is an ADULT restaurant. Why is it so difficult for a restaurant to say children are not allowed.

great food- was there for restaurant week and was impressed with variety and # of options for the menu. service was a bit spotty- seemed like they needed 1 more server although there were other support staff to help deliver and clear plates. we probably would have ordered another drink had the server come by.

I've had the opportunity to enjoy delicious food from all over the world! Workshop has it all'. Beautiful, calming architecture and clean open spaces! The food itself you can tell is made by a team of people that love what they do! The farm to table aspect is completely apparent from the very first bite!
Michelle, who was our captain that guided us through our culinary experience was as calm, knowledgeable and had the perfect amount of info about the space and chefs without being over bearing. Her ability to cater our menu just to our tastes did not go unnoticed.
My husband and I will be regulars.
Go enjoy and say hi to Michelle!

In June it was a little hot for us to sit outdoors-- we were lucky and managed to get a booth inside. Interesting Post-Modern interior of raw concrete and iron metal fixtures. Combination of communal tables and private. Wonderful offerings of cocktails, wine and beer and a crazy-good local/seasonal menu of small and large plates that made surprising explosions of flavor in the mouth and yet felt as if we'd always been waiting fo them. We shared appetizers and salad and split a Flat Iron Steak that was delectable. It may be at the high end of some folks' budget but it will be a remarkable experience. If I lived in Palm Springs I would be a regular here.

After not coming back to the restaurant for awhile, I was pleased with some improvements at Workshop. The wait-staff has been improved with more personable, capable people. However, they could be a little less "rehearsed-sounding." It still takes a long time to get your drinks, but not as long as before. The food was excellent and came in a reasonable period of time. Now if they could only fix the sound level inside and the light level outside. It is so loud inside, even when they are not that busy, that the only place you can sit and hear each other is in a booth. It is so dark if you sit in the otherwise lovely outdoor area that you can't see your food.

The menu is really attractive to discriminating palates, with small plates of original food combinations, and hearty mail meals. The decor, of course, is absolutely stunning in its modernism, and the food interesting. Love to take out of towners to show them how it's done in Palm Springs.

As good as it gets
First time eating here. will certainly return
Only fries I've ever liked better were Olive Oil Fries in Spain-mixed with egg
Lamb & Scallops were superb- Fine seasoning with excellent couscous & risotto
A great addition to Palm Springs Restaurants

We loved the Workshop.....even the spartan setting. That setting was followed through so well, that we found it most attractive. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed the generous sharing servings. This was a great experience.

Workshop Impresses Us Again.
This was our second time at Workshop, and it was fabulous again. I know everyone in our group enjoyed their food, but I have to say, my Lamb dish might have been the best lamb I have ever had! Our server was also top notch, and she really knew her stuff! She was able to give us info on all the food, even the different beers available. Our friends were also very impressed with the look and vibe of the restaurant. Great job Workshop! We'll be back!

The community table arrangement
The community table arrangement is best for café and burger joints. At this price point I prefer an individual table with chairs with a back. Setting on a pad wth no back and sharing a bench table with others doesn't do it for me. The concrete floors, tables and walls with a narrow restaurant was extremely load, Food was good, although small portions.
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
very creative menu (food and cocktails) extremely well executed. Interesting combinations and flavor profiles, right balance of light and heavy, dishes. we're big foodies and we loved it.

Architectural Food Find
A hidden gem in Palm Springs with an ambiance perfectly suited to its modern decor. Farm fresh food served by very knowledgeable staff with extensive liquor menu. Be prepared to pay the price!

Modern, Minimalistic, and Fantastic
Workshop is something you don't get experience too often in the desert. The decor is ultra chic and modern, some may call it cold, but it's a minimalistic design that is very well executed. The drinks are top notch and the food is delightful. Service was fantastic and our server was very knowledgable on their unique ingredients. It's a farm to table restaurant; the flavors are very bold.
This was a great place to take two out of staters for a truly unique twist on Palm Springs. It's a fantastic way to start a fun night out.

Crafted cocktails were refreshing. Appetizers were all delicious, but the pâté was my favorite. Shared entrees: Baby back ribs and scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. We "wine&dine" a lot, and can be unforgiving when it comes to flavors and properly cooked meats. Workshop gets 5 stars for food! The minimalist decor was beautiful, the service was slow at points, but the food was amazing!
8/7/2013 5:00:00 PM
We had a wonderful evening. Outstanding dishes - mesquite-grilled brussel sprouts, Lobster-fennel salad, scallops and the eggplant dip. Our server was nice. The bar was slow on a packed Saturday night.
Go for a relaxed and fun evening, split the plates so you can try everything.
8/9/2013 5:00:00 PM
We went back the next day.
That's how good the food and the service is...two nights in a row. Hands down probably the best new restaurant in Palm Springs in a very long time.

Food A+, Very Slow delivery
Three of us dined here last Thursday night arriving for an 8 pm seating, The place was very busy and lively. We were seated right away, and everything was fine. However after the appetizer was consumed we waited approximately 40 minutes for the main courses to arrive. At one point the waitress advised that the manager was now in the kitchen acting as an expediter to get the food out, we didn't get out until around 10 pm. The food however was fantastic here!

Rare in Palm Springs
There are not very many "foodie" places to go to in the Palm Springs area. Yes there are several good to decent places to eat and they deserve their own recognition for food and service, but this is exceptional. Attention to detail is their way. Go and enjoy. Taste their octopus carpaccio or some of the things they sous vide ... amazing.

A Very Happy Anniversary Dinner!
Decided to try this relatively new restaurant after hearing somewhat mixed reviews. Well, we had a great experience at The Workshop. Service could not have been better and the design/decor was certainly unique within the PS scene. While we had heard the restaurant was pricey, we had the prix-fixe meal which was a bargain. We started with the little gem caesar and quinoa/beet salads- both excellent. I had the ribs and corn salad and my wife had the vegetable enchiladas as entrees - again, both excellent choices. The flourless chocolate cake with salted peanut butter ice cream was good not great in our opinions.
We would definitely return with or without the great pricing!

We arrived on a Monday at 9:00 pm and were so pleased to see such a nice happening place open. Unfortunately the hostess didn't seem as excited to see us, her greeting skills need much work.
We enjoyed the food very much ( with the exception of the ribs) and the drinks although very small were yummy. We loved the small plates that allowed us to try 4 different things before we were full.
Very nice evening indeed

First time experience
My friend and I made reservations last minute, and decided to have dinner at a new place. What a great atmosphere you have created in your business. Your staff was cordial, attentive, and respectful of our privacy. I will be happy to come back again. Next time I'll order dessert!

Eclectic and interesting menu. Cocktails were amazing. Food was well presented, and very tasty especially the shoulder of lamb main course. One of the better restaurants in Palm Springs.
Service was very prompt .

elegant and down to earth
My wife and I came to Workshop for our 1 year anniversary dinner and left very happy and full. The delicious cocktails were artfully made without being fussy. In fact, so was the food. I had baby back ribs and my wife had the flat iron steak. Both were perfect. Tender, distinct and very well presented. We especially liked the creamed kale as a twist on the old standard creamed spinach.

Destination dining in Palm Springs
On par with any chef-driven restaurant in LA or NYC. WORKSHOP elevates PS dining to the next level, taking a confident step towards making this weekend getaway town a dining destination. The restaurant's aesthetic may be "modern industrial" with lots of concrete, steel, and hard angles, but it's far from cold and institutional. Hip, convivial atmosphere... Friendly, knowledgable, attentive service... Interesting, creative cocktail program and a well-edited wine list makes it hard to choose... Delicious, seasonal, farm-to-table food strikes the perfect balance between comfort and gourmand... What more could you want?
10/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Hip crowd and slick venue. Good food but pricey for Palm Springs. 30 minute wait for table when we had a 7:30PM reservation; hostess asked if we'd like to order a drink while we waited. Restaurants should comp a drink for guests who wait longer than 20 minutes; this implies they are booking reservations too closely. Wait staff was good; friendly Jerry who I know from a local coffee shop. Food was good and beautifully presented. Three scallops for $31 vs. five for same price when I dined earlier in the year.
Overall a good experience but expect to shell out some $$$

A great place to eat in PSP
Amazing cocktails, food and ambiance. The white yam soup is something that must be tried
10/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Was impressed by design and drinks.
Thew ambiance is wonderful, and locals seem to like it as well as tourists. My only concern was the food didn't have a whole lot of flavor, and the scallops were under cooked. The drink/cocktail menu is amazing and our server was friendly but a little insincere. Overall I would go back for cocktails for sure.

Best scallops dish we have
Best scallops dish we have ever had. Loved the spaghetti squash with it. Tasty hand crafted cocktails

great food, ok service
Food and drinks were delicious!!! Service was ok; our waiter was rushed and frazzeled. I would definitely go back for everything else!

Great meal despite the service
This is truly one of the best restaurants in Palm Springs. We had the octopus carpaccio and the tomato salad. Both were outstanding. We also went for the pricey rib eye steak. A couple of pieces were fatty but it was worth the expense. The service was haphazard at best. The indifferent waitress showed up first to ask if we had water. We didn't. She goes to get it and the assistant shows up to ask if we wanted water. We had ordered drinks at the bar but we were never asked by the indifferent waitress if we wanted another. We would have but figured we could do without. When the place was new and packed, one could overlook the inconsistent service but now that they are established, there is no excuse for it.

Palm Spring's Best
I love the food here. It's the best in Palm Spings!

Best in the desert
Great place to have a special meal - patio at lunch or dinner in the cool inside. Great, friendly service

Tucked away in a quiet courtyard, this restaurant is a hidden gem. The design inside is stunningly simple and beautiful. The food was creative and delicious and the service was excellent.
10/30/2013 5:00:00 PM
I think it'll get better!
This newish restaurant on the Palm Springs scene is a welcome addition. The decor is part industrial, part kitchen table (with tea towels for napkins). We shared a roasted chicken, family style, after a marvelous lobster and grain salad. It came with mashed butternut squash (perfectly prepared), and red quinoa. The flavors were good with an inventive complexity that was both satisfying and intriguing. The ingredients were fresh. We were happy with the meal. Service: we were told we should order the salad and chicken at the same time because the chicken took a long time to prepare; it arrived while we were still eating the salad. That was surprising. We left satiated, happy and vowing to return next year.

This restaurant has a cool vibe to it. The only thing I didn't like about it was there is a communal table that runs down the middle of the restaurant with square seats without backs. I am not a fan of communal tables. Booths run along side the table so I would recommend asking for a booth if you want to sit inside. They do have outdoor seating that is in a courtyard that is pretty nice. The food was very good but not a very extensive menu. The service was good but slow at times.
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
Having read the reviews left by other diners, I was a bit skeptical. What a pleasant surprise my experience was! Great service. Friendly server and hostess. Delicious food. Definitely I recommend this restaurant!
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food was very good. The staff, beginning with the hostess, was less than friendly. I wouldn't go so far as to say rude, but definitely a snobby.
11/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
not too New York for me!
I was visiting PS & had a lovely &delicious dinner here. A friend of a friend had said it was "too New York." Being from NYC, it wasn't for me. On par with some of the finest dining in NYC. Price-wise too.
A large communal dining table is spacious enough that we still felt pretty private. With no soft surfaces anywhere, I would imagine (and have heard) that the noise level, when packed, could make conversation challenging.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu &made good suggestions. Recommended a delicious wine, but neglected to mention it was $19 a glass. A little surprising. (She also had a quirky use of only 1st person plural pronouns.)
The scrumptious food made up for these relatively minor shortcomings.

Great Comfort Food
I had a small gathering to celebrate a birthday for family members. The restaurant was very receptive to our last minute changes with additions to our party which was immediately comforting.
The food presentation and taste was as promised... Great atmosphere and even better locally grown menu items.
