Excellent choice for out of town guests and those going to the glass museum at the enter

Delightful, Delicious, Delovely
We took our out of town guests here for lunch before going to the Chihuly Museum together. We called ahead for reservations and they seated us promptly. The menu had something to offer all 5 in our party, the food was delicious, and the service was friendly. We ate inside because it was a cool day but think it would be delightful to eat outside next to the Chihuly Garden if the weather permits. We enjoyed the tables of various "collections" built into the tables. I recommend this for future diners and this is so very convenient for Museum visitors.

Great before Plays and Opera
I love the setting of Collections, at the base of the Space Needle and right next door to the Chihuly Gardens. Parking is easy. We enjoy meeting up with friends before the opera or plays at one of the nearby theaters. The food is excellent, fresh, and innovative. You can get an expensive meal or moderately priced one depending on your preference. Wait staff are accommodating. Each table is unique in that it contains one of Chihuly's collections (therefor the name).

Really enjoyed lunch!
Took my mother who uses a walker/wheelchair and we arrived early (with reservations). The reception desk was so helpful and made sure that we were seated in a reasonable period of time even though the restaurant was very busy. The service did not have the usual Seattle edge. The servers were pleasant and helpful. It was refreshing.

Food and art
Innovative menu. Excellent octopus, king mushrooms, goat cheese gnocchi. Other plates looked great.

Fun Place to Eat
Next to Chihuly's Glass Garden, we thought it would be one of those overpriced museum restaurant. To our surprised, it was fun to eat here and the food was good though still pricy. Embedded under each glass top tables are collections of old stuff that brings back childhood memories. I had a tough time choosing which table to sit. We went to Chihuly's Garden in late afternoon, looked around, ate at the Café until it is time they lit up the garden, then went back into the garden for a evening stroll before we called it a day. All together- an enchanted experience.

Nice Seattle Center dining
Collections Café is a very relaxing and pleasant place to dine while visiting the Seattle Center (of course especially convenient to the Chihuly Museum, which I found to be a very pleasant surprise.) The food is good, the ambience pleasant, "adult beverages" are available. A far cry from the Food Court! The wine (white at least) list seemed to be needing a little help.

super place -- music too loud
Delightful setting -- colorful, airy -- and unique with the Chihuly collections, which appeal to all age groups. Food was way beyond ordinary -- service really cheerful and efficient. We liked seeing families with children enjoying themselves. Our only reservation is that the music was so loud as to seriously compromise the evening. We will return often when we attend the theatre and opera at Seattle Center provided we can again prevail upon the staff to tone down the noise level. The night we were there, the other patrons did not seem to mind a bit.

We were served promptly, sitting outside by the Chihuly exhibit was lovely.

Great food in a great location
Located adjacent to the Chihuly exhibit in Seattle Center, the food at Collections is worthy of the setting. The menu is fairly small, but everything we tried was delicious. It was a lovely café experience.

Day at the Seattle Center
Restaurant has great location for Chihuly Museum and the Space Needle. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Food was good. Did not like the "block" of pork for the sandwich. Needs to be "pulled" apart. Also a little salty. Second time at restaurant. Will recommend to all.

Lunch with Chihuly
Dining room was very nice, clean and well decorated. Wall of old radios and a ceiling full of accordions! Our table had an inlay of old toy trucks. Food was good (chicken salad) and with generous portions. I would not classify it as "a bargain", but priced according to the location. Service was good, again not great but didn't detract from the meal. Desert was very tasty. Door to outside was open and this led to some noise distraction but not constant, just off and on. Overall, good place for lunch while visiting the Chihuly Exhibit.

My Quick Pre Storm Game Dinner
I met two friends for dinner the evening of the big rain, August 29. The entry to the restaurant was flooded but the staff was already on top of that. They were gracious, professional and very welcoming. My dinner was fantastic and since it was my birthday celebration, I received a fabulous dessertl Loved the bourbon ice cream and the warm cookies were spectacular!

Loved the Collections
Took my grandchildren and we loved it. We had a starter - cheese balls and bourbon tomato sauce - and shared for three. Then one took the child's grilled cheese, one took the hamburger and I took a salad. All were very nice...and filling. then dessert topped it off....ice cream with bourbon caramel sauce and a warm snickerdoodle.
We loved the collections all around. Service was excellent.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone. However, we made reservations online, and were glad, since it was filling up by 1230p.
8/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
Since this was located at a prominent tourist spot, the space needle, I was not expecting much. But it was very good. Service was good. I would go here even if not doing the tourist thing. Collections of accordions, church keys, and others are displayed really nice.

So nice to find such great food inside Seattle Center!

Perfect night out
We went to the Eagles concert next door. Collections was a perfect pre-show dinner -- delicious food, good service, timely preparation, completely unique. What a good choice; we'll be back, even though we live in TEXAS !

Collections Café houses many of Dale Chihuily's small collections. They are displayed on the ceiling, walls and under the glass of each table top. The food was above par, so was the wine list. Excellent service too.. Located next to the Chihuily Glass and Gardens at Seattle Center. It is fun.

We had a great time at the Collections Cafe! The food & service was wonderful! We highly recommend the restaurant!

Feast for the eyes
Collections Cafe is aptly named - as a continuation of the museum it's a perfect place to highlight the many (and sometimes really bizarre) collections of Chihuly. Lots to look at - even in the tables. I wouldn't want to sit at the table with the creepy heads displayed in it, but the others were really fun to look at. Love the accordions hanging from the ceiling. We were there for lunch after touring the museum. Lunch was light and lovely.

A unique pleasure
We had a short stay in Seattle and wanted to make the most of it. Reviews convinced us the Chihuli Gardens and Collections Cafe were what we were looking for. Both exceeded our expectations. Complete delight in both taste and visual sensation!

Lots of stimulus-Food and Surround
Great location for fresh wonderful food combinations. We had a variety of small bites and entree's and loved them all. Surroundings are very interesting with each table containing a "collection" under the table top to view....ours was old Christmas ornaments, but the others were interesting too! We had a fantastic dinner. The only complaint is that the last reservation is at 7pm, and they are not open later for dining. We closed the place down and would have liked to have stayed longer.

A pricey but very nice brunch
We enjoyed our salads and brunch at the Collections Cafe'. We ate outside and found the environment pleasant (within Seattle Center grounds). One of the people in our party opted for the three course brunch. Two of us ordered the chopped salad and split it, which was enough for two light lunches. Service was very good, but the price seemed high.
9/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Best brunch I've had.
Great unique brunch options, variety but not too heavy and I prefer plated to a buffet. Add on a mimosa for $3. Will definitely be back.
9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
I've been here twice now and found both the food & service to be very nice. It's a convenient location and option when attending something at the Seattle Center.

A dining and food experience that went way beyond my expectations!

My friend and I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch. We enjoyed Chiuly's collections. We were given a small booklet of the collection by the staff. Very comfortable atmosphere.

Got the Livingsocial deal of a lifetime! 2 admissions to Chihuly Glass & Garden, $60 credit @ Collections Cafe, plus 1st edition catalogue AND valet parking included, thank you. Because we had $60 at the cafe, we ordered several small plates and were treated to many flavors that we normally wouldn't try. No bad choices here! Faves are watermelon salad & pear and Brie ravioli (though the ravioli was a regular entree). Kudos to the well-versed servers who helped us choose from a huge variety for a lunch menu.

There is not much press on
There is not much press on Collections but the menu/food - prices - service were all really good. Great date place or option for bringing out of town visitors. I would go back.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Best burger I've ever had. Seriously. Great eclectic funk factor. Fantastic waitress. Hostesses who had personality & cheer. Will go again when back in town.

Fun Decor, Food good
Did the Sunday brunch Prix Fixe. Overall the food was good but not outstanding (the steak with my eggs was somewhat tough, but the deserts were excellent). Love the décor, in keeping with the early 60s vibe of the expo era, with every table highlighted by quirky collectables, and the setting in the glass sculpture garden, is lovely. Felt set menu was somewhat overpriced at $29, though, with coffee/tea not included.

Great dining spot at the Center!
A delightful neighborhood gem and/or great finish to a tour of the wondrous glass museum in Seattle. Delicious food, fun, conversation-sparking decor, excellent, attentive service, and we could actually hear ourselves converse. Winner!

Great food & lovely location
We came for Seattle Restaurant week and were impressed by the food! I had fried oyster salad for a starter and porchetta for my main. The porchetta was definitely worth coming for! Cooked until the meat fell apart and bursting with flavor. Cool collections of stuff in every direction and great service. Fun!
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
We booked a reservation at Collections because we were in Seattle to see the Chihuly exhibit. It sounded great on their website and the food descriptions certainly lived up to our lunch. The menu changes weekly I think and they do local sourced food. Porchetta stew was excellent, rich thin broth with a healthy sized portion of pork belly as the center piece. Hamburger was perfectly cooked and served on buns from a local bakery, the best bun I have ever had. We all wanted a cup of hot tea and they did not have any in stock; we though that was odd and a bit off putting. Overall the experience was very good and I would return.
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Before the opera
At the opposite edge of Seattle Center, Collections is the perfect place for an early dinner and then a nice walk across to the opera house. There is a varied menu, the food is prepared and presented well, and there is good value for the moderate prices. The server was perfect!
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
I love the collections! It's a wonderfully stylish experience! It's not a large place, so definitely make reservations! Excellent northwest food!!

My mother and I had a wonderful
My mother and I had a wonderful lunch. The waitress suggested the new cabernet that was just added to the menu and we were not disappointed! I had the burger and mom had the pork sandwich. We gave each other half of our sandwich. The burger was delicious and the pork was pretty good. The pork needed a bit more moisture of some sort (maybe aioli?) We then capped the meal off with a brownie sundae that we split. The brownies should have been warmed because they were hard...but tasty. Having worked at restaurants in my 20s I know that heating the brownie up is typically done. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. We loved looking at all the collections. A real gem of a restaurant.

Beautiful place to dine
The service was very prompt and friendly. My husband & I ordered small plates like octopus, oysters, salmon cake, cheese curds( a must have). The entree of rigatoni was delicious although the first time around the pasta was way undercooked( stick to your molars undercooked) but happily exchanged for a new bowl of al dente pasta the second time around. Our server was very apologetic and comped us a cheese curd appetizer. Prices are a little on the high side, but that's expected for a tourist restaurant. Chihuly has collecitions of fun things to look at in the middle of the glass enclosed dining table. The utensils were not user friendly and we shifted our hands often to get comfortable using them. Overall, we rate Collection's Cafe an 8.
11/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
We enjoyed having dinner here before the Opera -- it was not crowded and only a 5 min walk to McCaw Hall. The chicken dinner was excellent. The Chihuly collection of common household items is interesting -- like radios, wine openers, knives etc.
11/1/2013 5:00:00 PM
The food was great. Flavorful, fresh, and plenty of it for much large appetites than our. The ambiance wasn't quite as expected, the downside being that we apparently were seated next to an (assumed by the overheard conversations) employee on off time bent on introducing the 'date' to everyone else who was working....so we had a steady stream of other employees, from wait staff to the chef standing right next to us and enthusing loudly how nice it was to meet the 'date'. Even some (presumably) regulars of the employee came by as well. We felt our otherwise nice meal was hijacked.

this restaurant sits at the chiluly musuem at space center in seattle...of course the musuem was no 1, but so was this restaurant...we are foodies had lunch there last week...the service from anastasia was perfect and quiet and sweet...the food was amazing and different...so not miss the gambas with paprika, the grilled octopus, and the wonderful cheddar and beer soup...this resto gets an 11 on a 1-10 scale

perfect pre show dinner
4 of us ate here before a wonderful Seattle Shakespeare show. The pulled pork sandwhich was cleverly toped with tart, colorful slaw, in not too thick a bun. It was served with a mountain of think crisp fires we all munched. Our first course green salad was well dressed but nothing special. My husband and feind had a pasta with special chanterelle mushrooms. We all felt it was light on the mushrooms - and not quite speasoned enough. the special wine of the week was excellent and a bargain (a Walla Walla name, for $40/bottle of cabernet). We could vist well in our cozy booth. Service was excellent- actually perfect.
We were in and out in 75 minutes and didn't feel a bit hurried. Really just an idel spot before a show at the center

Nice place to visit while going to the glass exhibit. We have done that twice and it was perfect compliment to the exhibit experience.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Reserve for an early dinner and catch a bit of the Chihuly exhibit prior to dining and then linger through the great glass hall and gardens following.

Interesting venue, with notable collections of ordinary objects. Food good. No surprises.

Enjoy the food & retro collections
Dined with friends and all four of us enjoyed our appetizers and main courses. Specials were creative as were the regular menu items. You can get a full entre, several salads or sandwiches which allows for a range of price points. Porchetta as part of a winter stew with vegetables was excellent as was the pear and brief ravioli. Salads were different combinations of kale and roasted mushrooms or apples, cabbage and nuts. Good for pre-theatre dining.

It was a very enjoyable evening.
It was a very enjoyable evening. The collections were lots of fun - and added interest. The food was good - but not too fancy.
Just a delicious meal, an interesting and pleasant setting,

we like the size of the restaurant
we like the size of the restaurant and they are always very helpful. the menu is limited, but the food is good. Portions are small, however.
we would love to go there after the ballet and opera, but they actually close early- so it would not be a late-night find.

when visiting Chihuly Glass Museum
Collections Cafe is a museum in itself. Lots to see!
My meal surprised me as being mediocre. Most museum food is really good. I had a chopped salad. For 2/3rd the price there are plenty of restaurants where you can get a far superior chopped salad, but not as convenient to the museum. I would go back, but would order something different.

Good dining at Seattle Center
Collections is an excellent choice for something other than fast food at Seattle Center if you're not up for the cost of dining atop the needle.
