The server was extremely attentive, always checking to see if we were happy with everything. The food was excellent. The dorade was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The asparagus soup was light and delicious. The panda cotta was great. No complaints.

Good food -- creative salads
Good food -- creative salads (tad heavy on pre-mixed dressing); excellent calamari, lamb (3 thick-cut chops, cooked to med-rare order), and veal; good ravioli and veggie pasta. Wine selection seemed a bit random, but we had a medium priced Dolcetto D'alba, which was fruity and flavorful. Our waitress was an aspiring actress, attentive and helpful and the maitre d' was a non-Italian man (an El Salvadoran) with dreams of owning his own restaurant one day! All in all, not a blow-your-socks-off experience, but certainly an enjoyable meal in a quiet setting.

We are at Il Buco about twice
We are at Il Buco about twice a month. The staff is amazing, the food is consistently great (especially for the price point). It is Drago quality in a warmly accessible venue. The wine list is consistent and accessible and matches very well with the menu. After a brief change to A-1, we are thrilled that that Il Buco is back.

Really, really like this place.
Really, really like this place. Has a nice look to it and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Food was also outstanding - highly recommend their pizza. They definitely do not rush you with anything, which is nice. Definitely one of our regular favorite spots.

A Gem on the Corner
Lunch or dinner, this casual-with-class ristorante will accommodate your dining wishes.
Two rooms, each with a lovely ambiance, plus an upstairs room for private parties, make Il Buco available for almost any occasion.
The staff and service personnel are gracious, give personal attention as if you are the only occupant, and the food and presentation... ahhhhhhh!
Once you come, you'll be a repeat customer.

Love that Il Buco is back
All my favorite staff and menu are back! My favorite piccata was even on special the other night.
Shows that you never mess with a proven good thing!

Love this Restaurant
The Drago Family always provides the finest Italian food and service. Their Bolognese sauce is one of he best in LA.

Despite it's prime location at Wilshire and Robertson surrounded by other "fancy" restaurants like Stinking Rose, this hidden gem is a great place to get well made and well priced Italian food especially if you're looking for a quiet romantic evening. I had the Sea bass which was cooked to perfection and paired excellently with capers, olives, tomatoes, and a light sauce. The dessert was a hazelnut topped ice cream with dark chocolate which was sweet but not overbearing. The same applies to their Tiramisu.

Our go to spot!
Il Buco is truly a neighborhood gem - food is always prepared well. Servers are friendly & helpful.

Quiet neighborhood Italian restaurant with very good service, and the food is always good. Been there several times, land never had a bad meal... although some are better than others. Authentic Italian, and they're always there to please, by catering to the tastes of the customer. They will make a special dish if not on the menu or modify one that is to suit the taste of the consumer, which is always nice. Will continue to dine there as long as the quality is as it is. The noise level is low, so conversation over dinner is a delight instead of an enduring chore.

We are so excited to have found this outstanding gem so close to the Sabin theather ! We had tickets to see Dave Mason and didn't really know where to eat dinner before hand, I found It actually when i went to Open Tables.com it reminds me of an Italian resturant in New York back in the Bonnie and Clyde days.... But in a great nostalgic manner !!!!The food was exactly what we wanted excellent salads, soup, and the pizza was cooked to perfection . My friends had the pasta and enjoyed it as well.

Unassuming Restaurant; Great Food
I can't believe I never knew about Il Buco before. Was searching Open Table for a Sunday dinner reservation and noted its great reviews. Really is a great find - wonderful food, terrific service and reasonable prices. Triple threat. Will be back.

Il Buco had a name change
Il Buco had a name change and is now A-1. Some of the best pasta dishes in town. Try the Fettuccine Tartufalle with porcini mushrooms, the Penne with Eggplant and the Fettuccine Bolognese. Salads are chilled and crisp with tangy dressings and the dorade (fish) is outstanding. Solid wine list with reasonably priced selections from California and Italy. Service is friendly and quick. It is our "go-to" place in Beverly Hills.

Maitre'd and waitstaff went out of their way to make us comfortable and service was perfect. Food was great, prices reasonable.

My neighborhood favorite
Our go to restaurant in the neighborhood. Consistently good service & food - the carciofi salad is the best! We are non-meat eaters & there is always something new & good to try. We will return again & again!

rocky start, spectacular finish
Our dinner got off to a bit of a rocky start. We were greeted by a really friendly but somewhat disheveled host, then our waitress seemed to not be in her groove and the service felt off. One person waited almost 25 minutes for a glass of wine while 2 others got martinis and nearly finished them before the wine arrived! That said, it was all uphill from there. The server hit her groove, and she became highly attentive. And the food was FANTASTIC! Rack of veal, osso buco, and desserts were particular standouts. All in all, a big thumbs up, and to our server, brava for tuning into our early apprehension and for making an adjustment. Much appreciated and know we'll be back. ; )

conversation is possible
when we want pasta, this is where we go. they even prepared a pasta that used to be on the menu but isn't any longer. service is friendly and efficient. unlike many restaurants in LA, you can actually talk to and hear your dinner companions without shouting.
our waiter asked if we had a show to get to (which we did) and paced our dishes so that we weren't late. corkage is a reasonable $15, but the wine list has options to suit a wide range of tastes and budgets. it's really a lovely restaurant.

It was our third time in the past month that we dined at IL Buco. We have been taste-testing lots of Italian restaurants in Beverly Hills and neighboring environs. Il Buco is a true winner. Hope to return next week with friends.

if you want pasta...
il buco seems to understand that a restaurant is a service business. it seems that everyone here from hostess to the waiters to the busboys is focused on enhancing your dining experience. unlike the current trend of "no substitutions," il buco is willing to adjust their menu to give you what you like. regardless, the food is well prepared and very tasty. bread is fresh and perfect for dipping, and (again unlike the current trend in LA) and they don't charge you extra for it. reasonably priced and interesting wines on their wine list, and a very reasonable $15 corkage should you decide to bring your own. have dined here several times before and hope to return again and again.

Very good experience.
We went there on 15th for my wife's birthday. The food and service were very good the waiters were very polite and knowledgeable and I will definitely recommend the place for dinner.

Nice, small neighborhood Italian
Nice, small neighborhood Italian restaurant. The portions were substantial, not humongous. The food was very good, but needed a little more seasoning. The prices are moderate. The noise level was comfortable, except for one little girl who had not found her "inside voice" yet.
