Great Group Spot
Terrific evening! Met a group there (approx. 15 people) and it was the perfect venue for that activity. Wait staff were terrific and very accommodating. Individual orders varied from the casual pub fare to the salads and entrees, and all were very pleased with their meals. Looking forward to doing it again! (Note: our experience was on a weeknight; I do not know if they would accommodate large groups on weekends.)

It's been awhile since last at Wild Horse and don't know why it took us so long to return! The service, food and ambiance were outstanding!

Comfy and relaxed
Comfy chairs & relaxed atmosphere. You'd probably describe the menu as eclectic American, with a vaguely western feel. Overall very creative, simple dishes. Huge draft beer list.

Nice Redo on an OId Favorite
I loved the eclectic menu--there were many tough decision to be made from appetizers to entres. The four of us found our meals to be exciting and portions were appropriate. Service was great, and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The room was a little sterile, but they just finiished renovations and there is more to come. We definitely will return.

The Wild Horse changed ownership
The Wild Horse changed ownership this winter, and after several weeks of renovations, recently reopened with the dining area is painted in soft tones and has a community table(a newer concept in this area)creating a more inviting atmosphere. The menu has been altered as well-adding small plates in addition to the apps and dinner plates already offered. We tried the fried brussel sprouts which were absolutely delish! Our main courses were the cod and the braised short ribs-both of which were to die for.The drink menu offered an extensive draft beer collection, and moderate wine list. Featured martinis included the girl scout and pomogranite...Great experience-the service was GREAT!!

I had one of the best steaks
I had one of the best steaks of my life here. I have been to many well known steakhouses and Wild Horse's prime rib eye tops many of them.

My boyfriend and I were celebrating his promotion, and the Wild Horse was the perfect choice. We started with the thai fries and oooh my gosh they were so addicting. We had to ask the waitress to wrap them up for us after about 10 minutes because the plate could have easily served 4-6. So much cheese, and peanut sauce - sounds weird, but I promise you'll love them. I had the salmon which was cooked nicely with butter beans, clams, and chorizo. He had the ribeye which was amazing. Cooked a perfect medium rare, and seasoned excellently. We passed on dessert, as we wanted espresso and they only offer coffee. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. We will most definitely be back!

Comfort Food, Ambience Needs Help
Having been a customer of the "old" Wild Horse, and having felt like it started to degrade over the last few years, I was excited to give the new management a try. I was immediately struck by the fact that the fun decor, had been replaced with a very sterile new look. Everything looks clean, but it lost a lot of the visual interest, and the lighting was too bright for my taste. The food, has taken a positive, and interesting turn. The menu is primarily comfort food, but with a twist. For example, we got a taco and wings - but the taco was made with delicious lamb, and the wings were Korean style duck. Both delicious. The highlight, were the apple cider vinegar brussels sprouts. INCREDIBLE. I will be back, but I hope they dress it up a bit.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. I like the new wild horse! Well done.

Contemporary & comfortable
The Wild Horse has a great dining area with mismatched upholstered club chairs for a very comfortable dining experience. The menu has a good selection of beers, wines and tapas, as well as salads and entrees. We can't wait to go back in the winter to take advantage of the fire places in the dining room.

Good find on North Shore
We are from the South Shore and were heading to Beverly for the evening. Found Wild Horse via "Open Table" and were very pleased. The hostess was very pleasant and delivered on my e-mail table request perfectly. Service was spot-on and not intrusive. We had the seared cod which tasted fresh and cooked right with appropriate flakiness. The rhubarb crisp was enough for two and very tasty.
A good experience all around.

We go often and always have a wonderful experience.

Wow. More than expected.
Newly reopened under new management, entirely renovated, new chef, completely unmarked and unassuming on the outside -- inside however its a different -- creative menu, excellent quality, warm service - -the best of an warm country 'tavern' and city contemporary cuisine. We'll be back for sure. It's now a fixture of our Northshore list.

Great spot for dinner or lunch
Went to the Wild Horse for a business dinner, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fantastic preparation. We shared small plates: cheese of the day (bleu), chicken pate, brochette; we each had the ribeye for dinner. All well-rounded, fully seasoned and seasonal. Our waitperson could have used a little more seasoning, though. While very friendly and attentive, she was not terribly well-versed with the menu and its ingredients. A bit more education for waitstaff could go a long way. All that said, my husband and I then went back for lunch over the weekend. While the menu is quite a bit smaller, the food was no less excellent. The fried oysters were perfectly crisp and tender, and our burgers were some of the best we've ever had.

The food was excellent. The short ribs rich and succulent, the mixed grill was very well received, as was the Pork, Pork, Pork. The Crème Brulee was over the top, according to those that had it, and the chocolate decadence is aptly named.

Continues to Impress
Previously, we've come here for dinner and we recently stopped in for lunch. The ambiance is inviting, service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. This is not only a great place for dinner, but for lunch as well!

First time back since new owners renovated. The bar area is bigger and the dining room smaller, but much looks familiar, with some stuffed armchairs still in place, although there are more ordinary dining tables and chairs. The space seems more open to natural light. Good martinis. Duck instead of chicken wings, and offerings from burgers to short ribs to salmon. Prices are moderate.

Girls' night out
We had a great time! The drinks menu was fun, the Thai poutine was tasty. Perfect for a girls night out.

Under new ownership. Though the redone decor is not necessarily an improvement and there wasn't as much of a buzz as one would expect on a Saturday night, the food was great. From small plates to entrees everything tasted great, clearly the result of a chef who likes to cook and tastes his food! The Pork, pork, pork was what attracted me to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. The haddock, ordered by two in our party was also very good. Service was pleasant but could have been a bit more attentive. We were however pleased to be visited by one of the new owners following our meal who asked us about our experience. Overall, we would all go back. Needs a bit more of an energetic vibe but otherwise is a very affordable and nice dinner out.

we enjoyed every moment of our dining experience starting with a cocktail and 3 meze items, a small plate and then a grand plate with wine and delicious dessert!

Great food - not a great area
Took a shot and made a reservation based on this resturaunt being near a place I needed to be at. When I drove up, I was concerned -the area is not the best. Once inside, the place was great! Nice decor, great service, fantastic food. $190 for 4 people to eat (2 glasses of wine, 4 beers, 4 entries, 1 app that we shared, 2 salads).

Date Night Awesomeness
The food, service, ambiance and beer/wine list were all exceptional!

As usual, we had an excellent meal at the Wild Horse. The salmon and chicken saltombocca were perfectly prepared, and we loved our miso soup and roasted beet salad. Side dishes were flavorful, perfect accompaniments. The wine and food lists offer variety in price and selection. Whether you eat in the dining room or the bar area, you can't go wrong.

great refresh of the old Wild Horse
I have heard of this place for a few years now, but was surprised when i booked our table that it was under new owners now (apparently since Jan 2013). The owners came from Serenitee's 15 Walnut, which is a favorite spot of ours so we had high expectations of the Wild Horse.
Great set up in side, easy to get around in while carrying an infant in a carrier. Service was very good, the food was outstanding (we did a all appetizer dinner to try as much as we could) and we loved it all.
Beer and wine selection is right on level with many of the new styled gastropub-ish places.
We will definitely be back!

Simple dinner trending to Paleo
My guest and I chose Wild Horse because of the wood-fired cooking techniques and recent renovation.
Seating was courteous and efficient. My guest sunk into an overstuffed plush chair next to a gas fireplace, cozy and inviting.
We both ordered the Arugula salad, which came with some sort of creamy dressing more like ranch than buttermilk.
The grilled pot roast was fantastic, moist, fork tender and slightly redolent of wood-smoke,served with small onions, brussell sprouts and small white potatoes, with natural juices. If one could resist those potatoes we could pretend we went carb free. My guest ordered the chicken saltimboca served over wood-fired seared greens. we declined the "Chocolate Therapy" reluctantly....Very nice restaurant ..recommended

We've only been once before since the change in ownership and we were delighted that the décor remained essentially the same. Comfy and warm. Food was terrific. Would definitely recommend it and will return.

My friends and I went to Wild Horse Cafe for an overdue birthday celebration. The restaurant has changed a bit in the last year, and has lost a bit of its ambiance. It is now brighter and smaller in the restaurant to make room for a bigger bar area. However, the martini list remains impressive, and the food (pot roast for me, Pork Pork Pork for one friend, and steak tips for the other) was fresh, unique and bursting with flavor. Definitely worth a visit!
