Excellent food! I love the pork tenderloin. The cream of mushroom soup was delicious.
The cocktail menu was interesting. I had a Salad in a Glass. This was the best cocktail that I have ever tasted. It tasted exactly like a salad in a glass.

We weren't overly wowed by the food, although it was perfectly fine, but would still give this restaurant another try. It was a particularly slow night and while that makes it pleasant (not too noisy), it can also sometimes mean the food isn't as good as it might be on a busier night. The service was excellent and it's a pretty restaurant with a nice little patio (if you choose).

Menu was interesting. I had buffalo short ribs with truffled mashed potatoes and a Barolo sauce, which was excellent. Two of my dining companions had seared scallops with a pesto sauce that they loved. We were here in the shoulder season, so the restaurant was not busy. So we may not have had a good indication of the noise level or of how the service will be on a busy night. But our server was charming and efficient. I would recommend giving it a try.

We've dined at Tanti Luce a few times and each was memorable. The ambience is very peaceful, pleasant, relaxing. It has not been crowed, which is surprising for such a fine restaurant. I would rate it with Santa Fe's best; The Compound, SantaCafe, Geronimo.
The food and service are exceptional.

Our best meal in Santa Fe!
Great restaurant--both the service and food were outstanding. The "deconstructed" strawberry shortcake was the best ever!

Better Than Italian
From reception to paying the bill, our evening was completely enjoyable. The service was excellent with a very good knowledge of the wine list, specials and recommendations. The Portobello mushroom starter was cooked well and seasoned beautifully with plenty of veggies to accompany it and increase the flavor.
The Halibut entré was done to perfection - light, flakey, wonderful seasoning. The bed of risotto amplified the flavor of the fish. My wife's Polenta with sauteed veggies was superb. She asked for it without the Brussel Sprouts as their taste would overpower the delicate polenta. She was most pleased and satisfied with the selection. Our dessert of Strawberry Cheesecake was light and flavorful without overstuffing full stomachs.

Had another great dinner at Tanti Luce. This is definitely one of the better restaurants in Santa Fe.
Halibut with risotto was especially outstanding.

A Great Find!
Pork Tenderloin w/ molasses was devine! Beef filet prepared perfectly for my finicky husband. Quiet and romantic with a great wine list. We went early, but would have been great for a late night outing also. Had outdoor seating that wasn't very inviting--we sat inside and it was very nice. The chef came over to check that everything was to our liking. A nice touch. We had been in earlier to try to have lunch, but they were only having a cooking class. It looked special enough, that we went back. Glad we did!

We are a family of 4 (2 small children). My husband and I loved our entrees, we were also able to pick items that even our children liked (not easy) from the small plates menu. The service was quick and friendly and the ambiance fabulous.

Santa Fe's Hidden Treasure
Glad to have finally entertained myself. Unique menu that has creative small dishes. entrees, and great food. One of a kind gourmet dining. Had a wonderful experience and will come back. Food=delicious!

Lovely Euro Bistro in Santa Fe
Very nice dinner. Started with carpaccio and beet salad- both excellent. My spouse got the buffalo short ribs which were very good. I got the chicken piccata with risotto-chicken a bit overdone and dry on the edges but otherwise good flavors. The dinner came with rolls were cut in half and therefor a little dried out. A flat bread/cracker came with the carpaccio which was quite tasty. I was too stuffed to try the Lava cake but is sounds fab! There is an outdoor roof deck dining area but it was a cool, windy evening so we opted for inside dining, which was lovely. Very good wait staff.

Although we are Santa Fe residents, it is our misfortune that we have never been to Tanti Luce. On a lark I made reservations to celebrate by wife's birthday. Well we couldn't have been more pleased. Tanti Luce will remain on our "must" dining list from now on. Fabulous food, wonderful service and since we ate early in the evening we had the dining area to ourselves. VERY romantic.

An Unknown Gem
On our first night in Santa Fe we had a reservation at Tanti Luce 221. Not having been in town for sometime we had to ask directions to get there. No one we met had heard of it ! Learn the name and go there. The food was terrific, especially loved my buffalo short ribs - cooked to perfection with delicious sauce. Cocktails also wonderful. A bartender with imagination . We highly recommend for a gourmet experience in a lovely setting . If the weather is right, sit on the new terrace.

Had a wonderful time, watching the sunset sky and enjoying the breeze. The food is fantastic, but service is super slow. Lots of service folks running around, but still extremely slow with no personal attention. Couldn't even get salt and pepper.

We really enjoyed our dinner; the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Though the menu was not extensive, there was plenty to pick from. The scallop appetizer was one of the most wonderful food experiences that I have ever had! The new patio/bar looks great and will be a nice place to meet, greet and sit out under the stars.
I visit Santa Fe annually and am always looking for a new, great restaurants. This one is on my list!

Good food, slow service
From being shown our table to our first drink arriving was 25 minutes. It was pretty slow service all evening. One water glass was sticky and I asked that it be replaced, it never was. That said, her filet and my pork loin were very well prepared. The beet salads were imaginative, perhaps too much dressing but it was not a cloying dressing. We sat upstairs on the roof top and enjoyed the warm sunset over Santa Fe and dined into the evening. Did I mention that we were not rushed??? My way of emphasizing the slow service. Our pleasant server was apologetic. I noticed later in the evening that the sequined gilded hostess starting helping out, probably enlisted into action, too late for us and weirdly after the main dinner rush had diminished.

the rare exception
luce 221 was just about perfect all of the way around. as a suggestion, request a bungalow outside for a romantic framing of the evening. i highly recommend this location for a unique slice of santa fe coupled with an imitable environment. what a great night! best for romance and conversation.

A Santa Fe Gem everyone can enjoy!!
Chef Tom and the entire staff makes you feel so very welcome. I have been three times now and can't say enough about the staff. If you want a knockout "stirred not shaken" martini see Tommy in the bar, it'll be a life changing experience. Also I must say the small plates are prepared with love and the presentation makes your mouth water. I particularly love the lobster crisps, the goat cheese stuff chile and the pork belly. I have had a number of other appetizers and never made it to a meal but full intend to restrain myself and have a full dinner.

HIgh Aspirations Nearly Met
This white tablecloth restaurant has very high aspirations that were nearly met. A very good beer and wine list was a good start. The rattlesnake / wild boar sausage sampler appetizer was gimmicky and not satisfying. The fritto misto was adequate although the oysters were probably from a jar. The Gorgonzola encrusted filet was well prepared and the garlic mash was not overpowering. The chicken picatta was delicate and flavorful, the molasses baked pork chop was nothing special and the duck two way breast skin chewy and tough and the confit dry and tasteless. But the cannellini was outstanding. Not sure we would go again but overall if you are looking for an alternative to the Old House/Geronimo/Compund circuit, it is worth a try.

One of our Favorites
We've been to Tanti Luce 221 several times. It is our new "go to place" whenever in Santa Fe. Excellent food and very personable staff. Still a lift;e unknown so easy to get a reservation, but that will change. The huge outdoor deck/bar is also a great place for drinks and appetizers. The Tempura Green Chiles are incredible.

Best Green Chile Tempura!
Chef Tom Kerpon works his magic in this quaint cozy space. We started with Tempura Hatch Chile drizzled with honey paired with J. Lohr's Bay Mist Riesling....oh my. A match made in heaven. The uber-quality floral honey hints at the attention to detail this chef practices. I enjoyed the signature Bolognese - exquisite depth of flavor and tossed with perfect extra wide pappardelle. I could nearly see Italian rolling hills in my plate. Chef Tom seems to be able to work the floor as well as the kitchen and is seen charming his guests like the restaurant brother you always wished for.

Lovely room. Convenient location - right downtown on quiet Shelby street. Street parking after 6.
Excellent quality and interesting specials. Everyone at the table enjoyed their choices and service was attentive without being overbearing. Excellent choice for eclectic menu and well made food without airs.
Will definitely return often.

Unique, fresh flavored menu
We were highly impressed with the wine menu. There was a unique cocktail list that looked great, although we didn't have one. The menu was a perfect size, not too overwhelming. The specials were amazing and service was spectacular.

There have been at least 4 terriffic restaurants in this nice space on Shelby St. starting with the Periscope, then Amonti, Julians and now Tanti Luce 221. Tanti Luce is the best since the Periscope and that puts it at the top. Easily a top ten.

Everyone in our party (of 4) had a very nice experience here. Joshua, our server was very attentive. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned. The wood burning fire in the 2 fireplaces created a great relaxing ambiance.

Wanted to try this restaurant after a friend recommended it and the menu looked amazing. We were not disappointed! Food was perfectly cooked and paired, attractively plated. A feast for all senses. Highly recommend! I know we will be back for more.

Fast becoming one of our favorite places. Food is always innovative and well prepared. Would like to have more varied specials as the menu is small but interesting. The fireplace is the focal point on these chilly nights but the outdoor dining 3 seasons is charming.

Prices are very good for what you get.
