We had an incredible meal and there was not one thing that was not loved by everyone at our table. The best meal we have all had in a LONG time. Please go try this one out.

So good, no one wants to leave!
We had a res for 8:30, and had to wait almost an hour to get seated. A couple of clueless young ladies sat at the table next to the window, so they could see us waiting. And waiting. They had long ago finished their meal and drinks and chose to stay rather than do the right thing. The host was very apologetic, but told us people love the restaurant so much, no one wants to leave. The food and vibe were very good, but I would have loved to tell the privileged, entitled young ladies that the world doesn't revolve around them.

Perfect for any meal
Comodo was one of those elusive NYC restaurants that you rarely find: delicious food, a great ambiance, and a perfect setting on a secluded side street.
Before you go, check out the history of the restaurant, which only better the experience.
Forgive me for copying from the menu, but my spanish/portuguese is not the greatest...
The PÃO DE QUEIJO SLIDERS and AJIACO SOUP are a must try, as is the Mezcal Octopus for those with a taste for tentacles. The brussel sprouts are sautéed with a Caesar dressing that you would not expect to make such an ideal partner.
For entrees, the Trout is perfectly charred with a juicy meat on the side. The Cochinita bursts with a subtle coffee flavor that is only bettered by the tenderness of the meat.

Great find. Superb food!
Small, so book early. The food was amazing, very well-done. I recommend the steak and sliders to start. The service was great. Really cute vibe with plenty of interesting people.

Love this place
Delicious Latin-inspired flavors in intimate, lively space. Loved the sangria, lamb sliders, swordfish ceviche and poblano bolognese pasta. Brussels sprouts and coffee rubbed pork were ok. Great service and welcoming owner.

Incredibly creative dining
This restaurant is one of the gems in the NYC restaurant landscape. The menu is incredibly creative, as is the decor! I knew this place was special the monemt I walked in and saw the smiles on the face every person dining there. Once I tasted the food and took in the ambience, I quickly became one of the gleeful many who rave about Comodo!

A very Pleasant Expericence
When we arrived we were very warmly greeted and the hostess gave us a very nice table near the window. The service was friendly, a little bit slow, but we didn't mind since we had such a nice table. The food was good, though not spectacular. We had the cilantro soup with crab and the mezcal octopus as appetizers and then the duck and the scallops as entrees. I will certainly go back, I was left with a very pleasant memory of the whole experience.

We came up from Tampa to see some shows and eat some good food. A Cuban friend recommended this restaurant. On a dare, we went. The food was original, delicious, and took us to another place. The location is also very special. Don't miss this one.

Very attractive menu
I found Comodo by sorting on ratings and filtering out restaurants with just a few ratings (OpenTable, when will you do this automatically? 5-stars from 1 person is different from 5-stars from 100!)
We were very excited by the menu. I was there with two other people and we liked all the appetizer descriptions so much that we ordered all of them (less the soups). It was a great share table. We also enjoyed their sangria - a very refreshing and not sweet specialty.
We will definitely return - I'm eager to get passed the appetizers to their entres.

Unique and excellent!
Comodo is a gem. I love that I live down the block and that I get to introduce friends from around the city to Felipe's unique fusion of Latino cuisines. THey come back with me an on their own!

Great local find
I found out about Comodo via Open Table and confirmed on Yelp. All the positive reviews were right on the money. It is a small, comfortable spot with great service, wonderful food and a good wine list. If you love Brussel Sprouts, the warm Brussel Sprouts salad is not to be missed. My husband had the pork sliders and thought they were also perfect. We continued our meal with the roasted chicken for me (portion is huge and could be shared by two), the duck for my husband, which he raved about and a great Tannat wine from Uruguay and then we finished with the delicious "7-pound" cake, not to be missed. All in all, a great find that we will continue to visit during our 4-year stay in this great City.

Would highly recommend this place without question.
The food (Lamb Sliders especially), the staff and the ambience made it a perfect choice.

Best Experience in New York
I took my daughter here for her 16th birthday. Best restaurant in New York City that I have been to. Appetizer, dinner and dessert were all fabulous. Would recommend to anyone. Have been to many New York City restaurants and this is one of the best. A real gem!!

My favorite spot in the city
I first came to Comodo for a private event - the ambience is incredible for dining with friends or for a date. Since then, I've had my birthday party with 22 people there (it has a feel of being in someone's home around a long communal table) and the chefs made every dish incredible. There was an abundance of both sangria and amazing food that night, and they topped it off with a surprise for my birthday. Since then, I have come with friends and the spot has never failed to disappoint. I would recommend Comodo for dates, birthdays, a night out with friends, or for work events. It has something for everyone!priti

Comodo was recommended by a friend that knew we loved Latin cuisine. We were not disappointed. The menu, while small was packed with gems. Everything we tried was exceptional.

We had a weekend in NYC and booked two restaurants on Opentable. This was the good one. Tiny place with high noise level, but service was good, food was excellent and price was fair. For bottles, wine list was really fun, but my wife and I differ on red vs white so we had to order by the glass, with only one selection per varietal.
7/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great, but expensive.
The food was well-prepared, although the portions are small. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Great experience tempered only by high prices.
7/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
My group of 3 had such a lovely time. The service, the food, and the ambiance were all impeccable. Will definitely be back!

A little Gem in Soho
Really great food! A really fantastic find with friendly staff in an intimate setting. Also a wonderful choice for people with gluten allergies. The Lamb Sliders are to die for!

A great place for brunch and more
I've come to love Comodo and it has become a favorite for our group of friends to get together for brunch. The menu is a mix of Colombian/Brazilian/Mexican food, with great dishes and great sizes.

This was our second visit to Comodo. Once again, we were impressed with the quality if the food and service.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Comodo to anyone that appreciates fine fresh Latin food.

My husband, another couple and I went for our 17th wedding anniversary and were so well taken care of. The food was amazing and well worth the price - not too out there.

Fun & Delicious
Comodo was not only great fun but served great food as well. Will definitely return next time I'm in the nyc restaurant. Birthday celebrations look to be especially awesome.

My Favorite Restaurant in Town
This is consistently the best meal in town. The menu is complex, yet unpretentious, and the service staff are warm and knowledgeable. Ask them about how the restaurant was started. It's an amazing story. I am dazzled more and more upon every visit, which is usually twice a week...three times this week. The atmosphere makes it my girlfriend and my favorite go-to in town. Could not think more of this place, or of the amazing people who run it. Go see what I mean. You will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend this small intimate restaurant. Food was top notch! Loved the Brussels Sprouts Ceasar Salad, the Steak and the Cod.

An NYC Gem!
I had been wanting to go to Comodo for quite some time and when I finally went last Saturday I was blown away. The vibe of the restaurant was very calm but lively, not too noisy and very cosy. The menu had innovative dishes and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The wine was incredible as well. The husband and wife team that run the restaurant are such kind people and make you feel at home. This was by far one of the best meals I've had in the city in years and I can't wait to go back. This will definitely be my new go to restaurant for date night or dinner with the girls!

Great Experience All Around
Took my office out for a last minute group outing for lunch, and was thrilled with the experience at Comodo from start to finish. the drinks and food were outstanding and one of a kind. The service was excellent, our server also made our drinks and served 14 of us without a hitch and we were out of there in an hour. Everyone thought I was some sort of genius for finding the place. I'd recommend Comodo in a heartbeat!

Unique and delicious flavors
We have eaten at most of the Spanish influenced restaurants in New York and this one tops them all. The flavors are fantastic, a little untraditional. The wine list is very affordable with some excellent South American choices. Very comfortable and lively ambiance. We will definitely come back and will be sure to bring friends.

This is a small restaurant tucked away on Macdougal street, and the inside is so cozy and cute. Even with the restaurant being on the smaller side, they were still able to accommodate our larger party of 8. We started out with several appetizers to share, and all were incredible. Highlights from our picks were the brussel sprout salad and lamb sliders. The menu is the perfect balance between healthy and indulgent. I tried both the quinoa spinach entree and coffee rubbed pork shoulder and couldn't get enough of either! I am dying to go back to try the cilantro soup and whole brook trout.

Discovered this excellent restaurant by reading reviews on opentable.com. It did not disappoint on any level. Ambiance is warm & inviting -- we were seated at the corner banquette (perfect for my 2 large companions). For appetizers we shared the lamb sliders, cauliflower au gratin, & Brussels sprout Caesar salad -- all delicious. Tasty main courses: poblano pepper pasta, coffee rubbed cochinita, & picanha steak. Sharing the churros with spiced chocolate milk was fun, however the 7lbs cake which was one of the best desserts ever! Our server was terrific throughout and even removed the chemex coffee from our bill when it did not meet our expectations. A delightful experience overall -- we look forward to returning next time we visit NYC.

Oh so Cómodo!
This is a great place if you want to have an intimate talk! The house sangria is very, very good, and the ceviche is to die for. The menu is small, but there all options are delicious! I definitely want to go back!

We celebrated my birthday
We celebrated my birthday with my husband, cousin and her boyfriend. We had a great time -- excellent food, great service and lovely ambiance. They do a great job with birthdays and have a special touch. Not the usual "happy birthday" song. The warm brussels sprouts Caesar salad is a winner!

Best restaurant in town!
This was My second time visiting Comodo. Both times coming with a group of 8-10 persons. The food is absolutely stunning! The service is perfect, the atmosphere and the feeling makes this restaurant complete. You should be sorry if you miss this restaurant that will be remembered for your lifetime!

Fabulous except for the noise!
Amazing and wonderful food---great fun atmosphere, just terrific. It may have been particularly bad on the night we went because there was a large group of young women celebrating a birthday, but the noise level was just ear splitting. The other patrons were literally shouting at the top of their lungs to be heard. I had to do the same in order to be heard by my dinner companion. Eventually, we just stopped trying, and we did enjoy the food. I am quite sure that if noise levels were measured, it would be a health hazard. Again the food was just wonderful, and the service terrific, but I am not sure if I will return. A few strategic noise limiting decorations would make an enormous difference.

West Soho Gem
Would go to again and again. All six of us loved every bite of our food and left nothing on our plates. Great atmosphere, friendly service. Dessert balls at end of meal were perfection!

I was so pleased with my experience at Comodo. Everything we ordered was amazing. The service was excellent. Ambiance was perfect. I want to come here again and again...and I probably will.

Good food in nice setting
Love the setting - cosy, romantic (unless you're unlucky to have a big group eating that day as the place is small). The service is outstanding, so friendly, they are even happy to give you a taster of the wine if you are unsure. The menu is original, with appetising descriptions. The food is good but remains actually relatively simple (perhaps the menu made me have higher expectations!), it could also be presented better on plates in my view.

Comodo has become our neighborhood
Comodo has become our neighborhood fave for special occasions. The food is excellent and the space and service are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for dinner or brunch.

Unusual menu, great food
Comodo's menu has an unusual combination of cultures, flavors, and textures. The Colombian and
Mexican influences are clear , as are the Brazilian. Not surprisingly the
Chef and owner has lived in all three countries and his wife is Mexican. The lamb slider appetizers were fantastic
Among the entrees, the ajiaco was true to its Colombian origins, and had some subtle variations of flavor that worked.
The trout was crisp and tasty, with a pistachio stuffing adding an unusual twist.
The churro dessert was excellent.
Comodo is a warm restaurant. The staff is friendly, but professional. The owners make guests feel welcome.
There is a deep sense that the chef loves what he is doing and that his enthusiasm communicates to
Staff and customers.
