Great Food as Always-Poor Service!
Outstanding food & excellent but a bit overpriced wine marked one more of our frequent visits to Naha. Service, however, was disappointing. All the waiters we've had in the past have been pleasant, congenial, willing to make the experience unique. Our waitress this time was for most of the night, unwelcoming, abrupt, almost annoyed. The food took unusually long--it was brought to us two hours after we were seated. When I remarked on the delay, the waitress didn't even try to apologize or show any sympathy. Instead, irked at my comment, told me that food is prepared with care and it always takes this much time--definitely not true and, most importantly, not the right way to handle an unsatisfied customer whose bill exceeds $600!

Great Deal for Lunch!
I've been to Naha for dinner several times but tried their lunch this time. What a great value! $22 for a 3 course lunch of "small" plates. As expected, the selection of dishes for lunch was smaller and simpler than dinner but it was still extremely enjoyable. The amount of food was perfect. Will definitely do this again next time I visit Chicago!

I'm most impressed by NAHA's level of consistency with absolutely incredible and delicious food. I've been dining here for several years now and never have a had a bad dish, let alone a bad meal. Pastry Chef Craig does an incredible job with all of his desserts too. It's always hard deciding what to order because everything on their extensive menu is so great. This time I had the white asparagus with smoked quail egg, ricotta and melted kohlrabi puree as well as Alaska halibut cooked so tenderly to bring out the sweetness of the fish. I finished off with a plate of warm baked cookies and a pistachio cake with macerated strawberries and Greek yogurt panna cotta that was just divine!

The meal and service were outstanding from start to finish. I was dining alone, but was made to feel very comfortable and the food was fabulous. Highly recommended!

Food was excellent, service was great, has a Manhattan-style vibe to the food and service, more upscale than many of the good Chicago eateries. Was told about their newer offering, Brindille, so we tried it last night and it was even better for us because we like French a little more than farm-to-table which is what Naha is mainly about. Pastry chef is a master--chocolate popcorn dessert was the best chocolate dessert I've had in a while.

experience at NAHA
Food was good (although with one star michelin our expectation was not satisfied)but a bit expensive
Wine list was very good
service was friendly but timing was "rushed"
Noise level was too high

Outstanding - Truly a Cut Above
We savored our dinner at Naha. The combination of flavors, textures and ingredients of each dish were exquisite and inspired. Service was exemplary. No detail was overlooked. Reminded me of some of our Napa Valley eating excursions - fine dining without being fussy, big flavors without being overwhelming. Dishes that you take a bite of - pause, savor, smile, sigh and offer a taste to your companion to share the delight. Not one misstep - totally lovely.

Elegant people, finally!
What ever happened to elegantly dressed adults? I am so tired of going out for an evening and seeing men in baggy shorts and young women in dresses short enough to be shirts. Not so at Naha! Here there are men dressed in coats and ties. Here there are women in elegant dresses. The ambiance is quiet respect, respect for the other diners enjoying themselves around each other. No texting, no raucous laughter, just pure enjoyment of the experience, which is fabulous food, delicious wine, excellent service in a beautifully appointed room. Thank you!!!

Great food. appetizer salad
Great food. appetizer salad and desserts were the highlights. 2 of us each got salad, entree, and dessert for around $100 per person including tip.

One of my favorites. Try to
One of my favorites. Try to take out of town clients and other important people here. Recent Friday lunch revealed not much business. However, service was slow. Server was smart, mannered, with good recommendations. But he'd disappear for long periods of time. When you have to ask another staff member to tell our server you're ready to order, that's not good.
But Naha continues to shine with its food. Some of the best in the city.

Went for lunch were the $22 prix fixe menu was a great value. Everything here was delicious, the service was extraordinarily friendly

Lovely dinner! The atmosphere
Lovely dinner! The atmosphere is beautiful and quiet. The perfect spot for a romantic evening. How refreshing to be greeted at the door by a hostess with a smile, and no attitude! The service was attentive, but not pushy. Overall, a great experience!

Outstanding Food - Great Service
Four of us went for a birthday celebration. Had a wonderful dinner. Each of us had different entreesand starters, and all were delicious. We had a dislike for a wine and they changed it without question.
The service was exceptional, very friendly.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food was outstanding, the highlight being a very generous serving of foie gras, meant for one person, very ample for two people. The wine parings were knowledgeable and spot on with a very good by the glass selection. I had a rissotto which was meant as an appetizer, worked well as a small main course.
The service was attentive but not intrusive, Chicago friendly and with a depth of knowledge. We would dine here again in a minute.

Kids were a challenge
Not really kid friendly. The wait staff was great, but really unable the please the kids. We tried to order them their own meals and in the end they ate my entire steak. Ugh! I loved the appetizers and bread!

Best lunch in Chicago
Their $22 3-course prix fixe for weekday lunch is an unbelievable value. I loved how quinoa and peach brought a basic salad to life and their North African chicken tagine was so flavorful. A chocolate pave dessert was yummy as well. This is such a great lunch option for either business or catching up with friends because the food is so consistently fantastic and it won't leave you feeling too heavy the rest of the afternoon. If the dinner prices at NAHA are a little high for you, definitely take advantage of the lunch prix fixe.

The food and service were excellent. The risotto with short ribs was flavorful and a great texture. The halibut was light and buttery at the same time.

I did the prix-fixe lunch
I did the prix-fixe lunch option which was amazing. I started with the greencity salad, followed by the loup de mer and ended with the chocolate pave.

lunch at Naha
I took my friend to lunch at Naha. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, quick with suggestions about the various items on the menu. We were seated at a table near the window, away from other diners. We started with smoky tomato soup with gorgeous garnishes, then moved on to a BLT made with pork belly. Swoon. There were interesting wines by the glass from small producers. We were never rushed...so we got to sit for a long while and talk. It was a great experience.
9/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Such an interesting menu it was difficult to decide on any one item. Great portion size so I actually had room for dessert. Thank goodness.
Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their unique dishes and we will definitely return on our next visit to Chicago. I would recommend Naha to those with an adventurous palette.
The service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable and gave many suggestions. We really appreciated her help.

Food is still fantastic as always. She's still on her game. Server was irritating, but I took this up with the manager. I do not think this is typical or pervasive.

Every thing was great! It is expensive but the food was great!

treated like royalty
We have gone for our past two anniversaries and have been incredibly happy both times! We've been lucky enough to have the server Steve both times. Everything on their menu is specially crafted to impress - even soups and salads. My only problem last time is that I didn't come hungry enough and couldn't enjoy more!
9/27/2013 5:00:00 PM
Outstanding once again
We are from out of town and come to Chicago frequently. NAHA is one of our favorites and we have NEVeR been disappointed. Inventive items, great service. Will come back every time possible.

Interesting menu descriptions.
Interesting menu descriptions. Didn't sound like there was a bad item on the menu. I had the Loup de mer and wasn't crazy about it but the accompaniments made up for it. Other members of my party enjoyed the quail, the squab and breast of duck. A pricey night but would return to try other menu selections.

excellent meal with colleagues
This is a perfect place for a quiet, good-quality, meal with friends or colleagues. The food is comfort delicious, the service is helpful but unobtrusive, and the background noise is low so you can hear one another speak. This is not a place where you can expect to find new partners. It is a perfect place to go for good food and conversation with people you know.

A fabulous evening. Michelin
A fabulous evening. Michelin and Mr. Beard know their stuff. Nice to go to a high end spot in the city that is not "a take it or leave it" tasting menu only. What appeared to be a simple Greek salad, had a surprise in every bite. The Moroccan rye bread will knock your socks off. Halibut and Salmon dishes were incredible. Served in very decent portions. The wait staff provided professional service. Our waiter watched our table like a hawk. More than happy to answer any and all questions. We had a few.
This is not cheap eats. In our opinion, it was money well spent.
10/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
We have eaten at Naha for dinner before and it is an outstanding spot for the evening. We were in town briefly and decided to have lunch there. They have a wonderful three course choice tasting menu for only $22 (in addition to a regular menu) and it was a great way to go. My son and I had a beautiful lunch.
10/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have dined at Naha at least 5 times. Each experience was memorable. The food is always
good. My Mediterranean chicken dish was top notch. Amy, the server, was very knowledgeable
and very attentive. I heartily recommend this restaurant.
10/17/2013 5:00:00 PM
Beautiful restaurant, wonderful food, perfect service. I always order duck if there is duck in the menu. This is the best duck
10/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
I tried Naha because it was listed on Open Table's Foodies list and I'm glad I did. I hadn't used that option of the app previously but I will now when available. It was my best meal in Chicago. I had the very good strozzapreti followed by a wonderfully tasty duck breast paired with a delightful Pinot recommended by the waiter and a cheese course that was perfect for finishing my wine. I dined alone and felt very comfortable doing so. The hostess even offered a newspaper. I liked everything about this meal and would love to go back and explore the rest of the menu.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
I went on the spur of the moment and only had an appetizer, salad and glass of wine, but the place was lovely. Everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully prepared. I'm eager to go back for a full meal.

Perfect Birthday Celebration
Naha made my romantic evening meal with my husband a memorable event. They followed through with a table in a quiet somewhat private section area and a candle on his dessert plate. Our waitperson was friendly and knowledgeable. Th evening couldn't have been better and the price was worth every penny.

the combination of foie gras
the combination of foie gras and tartelette is not specially adapted, bur the foie gras itself was remarkable
10/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
This was my first visit to Naha. The space is a fine example of urban minimalist chic.
The staff is most accommodating and lovely without no pretensions.A well appointed table greeted
us as we sat and the menu offered a delectable choice of appetizer and entree options.
Well prepared food with a simple and eye-pleasing presentation delighted me and my dinner companion.
I will return on my next visit to Chicago!

Even better than last time
A few years ago a group of us came here, when at a conference, as a special treat. It was good then, but now the food has 'gone up another level'. Take a bowl of cauliflower soup. How much could you do with that? Amazing things, it turns out, so that each spoonful is slightly, or even remarkably different. Try it! Service is attentive, informed, but not intrusive.
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Immaculate, with one exception
I had been to Naha once previously and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. So I decided to take my parents back there for dinner while they were visiting from out of town as a special occasion. The food was as expected delicious from start to finish Without exception. The wait staff was knowledgable, approachable, and accommodating. I had heard the recommendation to try the cauliflower soup and it was remarkable as expected.
The one sour note of the evening was the sound level in the restaurant; it was, well, deafening. We were literally screaming to each other across the table to have a conversation. It was sub-optimal on a night when my family was planning to catch up.

A great restaurant
I have been to Naha a number of times and still find it to be one of the best restaurants in Chicago. The food is perfectly prepared and the restaurant is very quiet--probably because we went on a Monday night. The wine list is pricier than most restaurants but the Cabernet we had by the glass was excellent. My three friends who were there for the first time, also loved the restaurant.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
I just was mentioned for the second time a one star of Michelin.. It should be two.. I have dined in many 1-3 star places in France. Very small batch localized liqueurs make up the unique bar and drinks.. Food was great.. Only thing was dessert was a bit fussy with too many "flavors" of the same.. like 4-6 things.. The one item was served in a low-ball glass and a nice twill cookie would have been better.
11/10/2013 4:00:00 PM
Creative, delicious food in appropriate portions. Everyone at the table was impressed. Service was a bit too familiar and at times slow.
11/14/2013 4:00:00 PM
Come for the exquisite flavors but enjoy the service, atmosphere, and attention to detail in everything they do. This is the first time I've been inspired to write a review.

Lunch on a Friday
Have not been here in several years. No clue why but decided to go last Friday. My boss took me and a co-worker to celebrate my birthday. Terrific ambiance. Delicious Food. Perfect service. Boss had pumpkin soup to start and artic char. My friend and I shared a beet salad and we each ordered the chicken thighs. The 3 of us could have licked our plates. Everything was that delicious. We also shared a chocolate creation for dessert that was amazing. Rich. Delicious. Beautiful. I will go back soon.

Wonderful blend of flavors
Naha wonderfully blends flavors and textures with great presentation. A wonderful place for foodies. My favorite place in Chicago.
11/18/2013 4:00:00 PM
Incredible meal, start to finish. Have never had a more knowledgeable server. From a very impressive wine list she recommended the only bottle from Lebanon on the list (had never had a Lebanese wine), and it was superb. My only criticism is that the menu has far too many quotation marks (Coconut "bar," Mango "pop-tart," etc.) which my "party" found "annoying."
