Not Mexican Food
As many reviewers note this is not a Mexican food restaurant. The owner and chef is Mexican, and some dishes clearly have Mexican spices and sauces. The food is quite good, portions are plentiful. The wine list is extensive and there are very few reasonably priced options. Expect to pay +$50 per bottle. No hard liquor. Sangria tasty but pricey at $10 per glass, mostly ice. Share your appetizers, salads, and desserts. TIM is an excellent server.

Although we had a very nice
Although we had a very nice meal at ESA, it did not live up to the hype. From what I had heard I was expecting extraordinary food. What we got was tasty (and huge portions) but not particularly memorable and the prices were steep. I had the starter of corn and crab cakes. The two huge patties were fine but I have had better crab cakes in many other places. My entree was the lamb chops. The three large meaty chops were cooked very well and not at all gamey, but a bit under-seasoned and not especially memorable. The sides on the plate were kind of boring. My companion had the mahi-mahi special, which seemed a bit more interesting because of the sauce.

Went here for our anniversary
Went here for our anniversary and it was great! Don't expect tacos or burritos...this is not that type of place. The shrimp ceviche appetizer was awesome! We both had the specials (Carne Asada and Mahi Mahi) and they were both great! Highly recommend! Good wine list.

Fusion Spanish food, not traditional Mexican. Excellent flavored and superb service! Try the tortilla soup, most unique soup ever.

..."ONE OF THE BEST...............
I LOOKED FORWARD TO DINING AT "EDUARDO'S" FOR A WEEK & IT CERTAINLY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. THIS WAS AN ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, BUT WE WILL CERTAINLY NOT WAIT FOR A "SPECIAL OCCASION" TO DINE THERE AGAIN! THE MENUE WAS "TO DIE FOR", THE WAITSTAFF WAS PERFECTLY CO-ORDINATED...THE CHEF LIVED UP TO HIS REPUTATION !! WE LOVED THE FOOD & THE WINE WAS PERFECTLY PAIRED FOR OUR MEAL. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Eduardo is KING of his domain.
This guy know how to cook. Makes his own desserts .The pure enjoyment of savoring his food well worth the price.
Cilantro Soup, Carnitas, Carne Asada, Lamb, Blck Bean Ravioli, the list goes on of excellent dishes.

This a unique and wonderful
This a unique and wonderful neighborhood gem of a restaurant. Excellent food, Excellent service. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because the atmosphere upon entering the restaurant was too quiet. The small dining area didn't bother me, it was the awkard quietness. I heard music very faint from the other side of the restaurant, but not where we were dining. The appetizers, entrees and desserts were phenominal !! The waitstaff is professional and courteous. Add ambience...and it's a 5 star spot.

We have been going to Eduardo's since we moved to Fort Lauderdale about 6 months ago.
Food is outstanding -- highly recommend the fish. Specials always have something very good as well.
An atypical mexican experience -- dishes are well thought out and wine selection was very good.

Food is delicious - we've been going here for a couple of years now. The service is always outstanding - attentive but not intrusive. My only critique would be a larger variety of specials. While they are all delicious, the same ones appear so frequently that they should really be just a part of the regular menu.
5/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
Always a new. Taste treat
Innovative tastes with unexpected combinations of flavors. Fresh. Local fish prepared well.

Another Awesome Meal
From start to finish, a flawless meal. Service was outstanding, attentive without being intrusive. Recommend you consider whatever appetizer or entree specials are being offered. We had the snapper special which was very good. The pork chops are a standard and while I prefer fish I had them and was impressed by tenderness. The cilantro soup is outstanding, hope it remains a constant. Go and you will not be disappointed. Order a Malbec, good quality and well priced.

One of the best restaurants in FLL
We have dined at Eduardo de San Angel 2-3 times per year for the past 15+ years. One of our favorites.

Authentic Mexican Food
Loved this small intimate Mexican restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere were superb. It was a very slow week night so I'm sure that accounted for the the very quiet noise level.
6/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
A dining experience
Do not let the gourmet Mexican category throw you off the food here is sensational and a true dining experience.
The chef has created a unique blend of herbs, spices, sauces and flavors that will thrill your palate and you will keep return time and again till you have tried all his creations
6/3/2013 4:00:00 PM
Hasn't changed in all these years
I started visiting Eduardo when he first opened in the 90's. It was then the one dining room instead of the two he grew into years ago.
Still has excellent food and service.
6/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant is just outstanding- I don't know what else to say! Every bite of food is an experience. If anyone thinks they know what Mexican cuisine is, they need to come here because Eduardo is a master of his craft. He takes the ingredients of Mexican cooking to a new level of excellence. This was our second time at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back! The service was impeccable too
6/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
I say in top 5 of South Florida restaurants
Its not "Mexican" as classified but creative dishes with various types of pepper sauces
spicy flavor full but not hot
Cactus with pork is unusual treat
Service is first class
6/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
The service, food, and ambiance were excellent. The food can be a bit expensive but well worth it. We had ceviche, Blue crab crab cakes, quail, lamb, and cilantro soup. The ceviche, crab cakes, and quail were all standouts. Highly recommended!

What a gem
Wow. What incredible food, service and a lovely looking restaurant. We were so pleased to enjoy such unique and wonderful food
7/4/2013 4:00:00 PM
There is no place like Eduardo's. In my extensive travels, it remains one of the best restaurants ever. How fortunate to have it in close proximity.
We try to order differently each time we go because the menu is so distinctive and the opportunity to try everything is so tempting. We do always have our favorite Celantro Soup. It is truly unique. I don't recall ever seeing it on a menu anywhere else. The Wilted Spinach and Brie salad was excellent if you like spicy flavors and yummy brie. We LOVED it. My lobster and shrimp appetizer was absolutely memorable. The flavors were indescribable. I wish it was on the regular menu. It was one of the many evening special dishes.
I always look forward to my next visit to Eduardo's.

A delicious experience.
My party of four was celebrating a friend's birthday. We decided on Eduardos based on reviews and nature of the cuisine. We were not disappointed. Our Monday, 7pm reservation was promptly honored and we were warmly welcomed. Our server informed us of the evenings specials. One stood out - a Peruvuian fish fillet with a delicious artichoke sauce. It was our selection. The featured wine was a red, Montes 2010 (D.O. Colchaga Valley, Chile), $55.00. It was agreed that it would work well with our entrees and it did.
One of our party was sensitive to many herbs and spices. When this was explained, the kitchen went to great lengths to prepare his fish in an acceptable way.
My suggestion - offer a few moderately priced wines.

An awesome find!
Wish I knew this three years ago when I moved to S. Florida!
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Eduardo de San Angel is a wonderful, small, intimate place to eat. More than eating, though, it is a place to feel cared for and to enjoy the really special food someone else prepares! Low lights and quiet ambience make it romantic, and there is no doubt the food is fresh and wonderfully made. The wine list is big enough, and there are some special wines. The prices are on the high end for our budget, but we went there for our anniversary. Upon hearing the occasion, the waiter made sure there was a candle in our dessert, which he presented with good wishes for many more years together. Would be there every week if we lived closer and had just a little more $.
7/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our group of six had some wine at the cozy bar prior to moving to our table. Our waiter was very knowledgeable not only about the specials and the menu but also about the wine list. He recommend some perfect appetizers to start and each of us had the various specials that were prepared by Eduardo himself. The six of us had a Fantastic Evening and each one commented on how great the food and service were.
7/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is a cozy, unique, upscale Mexican restaurant - you won't find burritos or enchiladas on this menu! It has been in the same location for 20+ years - a rare find. Every dish was unique and very delicious.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
The quality of the food was great in addition to being fresh. Jorge was a very attentive server and knew his dishes well. The cost to eat there is on the high end but you get what you pay for. Dessert was great and fresh.
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
As usual, Eduardo's food and service are of maximum caliber! The cilantro soup, pepper-encrusted fish, and the carne asada steak were perfection! This is our favorite restaurant and will revisit soon!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM

Superb dining at its finest!
This was the second time I dined here with my husband, and it was equally as fine as the first time! The service was friendly and accommodating to our food preferences. Food presentation was outstanding, the flavors perfectly balanced and blended! We are discerning restaurant 'foodies' from New York, and Eduardo de San Angel measured up, and even surpassed some of our regular haunts at home! Highly recommend!

Great Food and Service
This is a fantastic restaurant with excellent food. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. Our server Wayne did an great job of guiding us through the many menu choices. We had our 2 year old with us which can be a challenge but the entire staff greeted us with open arms. Our guy was as comfortable as if we were at home.

Fabulous! This is truly one
Fabulous! This is truly one of the best restaurants my husband and I have ever been to. We are from NJ and visited the area once before, about 5 years ago and went to this restaurant for the first time. It made such an impression that returning to this heavenly restaurant was topmost on my list of things to do in Fort Lauderdale when we returned. It lived up to and even surpassed those wonderful memories. I can still taste the wonderful cilantro soup, a standout even among totally delicious food.

Eduardo de San Angel Date Night
Reservations a must. Service, including timing, superb. Menu is fit for any pallet and preparation of food is described by the waiter for a full understanding by customer. Thoroughly delighted.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
We love this restaurant. The interior is lovely with delightful touches. The staff are attentive, swift, professional. I started with the black bean soup as I always do. I love it. My boyfriend had the cilantro soup. It was also delicious with a touch of heat. We had the suggested tempranillo with dinner. Terrific wine. Carlos ordered the special and complicated stuff poblano pepper. Lots of ingredients. It was fantastic ... only available for a week or so. I ordered the pork chop with blackbean + chorizo stuffed crepe. Loved the crepe. Pork was okay. Our friends ordered the mahi mahi in parchment (I will order that next time...it was out of this world) and the steak with yummy sides. If you haven't been here yet, shame.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Awesome! Felt at home.
Went on date night with my wife. We got to meet Eduardo who, we learned, is passionate about his restaurant and it shows in his food.

Fantastic food. Very creative.
Fantastic food. Very creative. Don't take anyone there who would expect anything remotely resembling Tex-Mex. This is different. This is very modern and elevated. Dress up. The nice setting deserves it.

Best Mexican Restaurant EVER
Fine dining. Never seen a mexican place take it to this level before, either for food quality-creativity or for the incredible service. Blown away by this place. Tucked away in a strip mall in a not so upscale neighborhood - no valet parking (but convenient, close, free lot parking). But once you step through the front door, the experience is as good as it gets in any of the most expensive restaurants of NY or Boston. Its now my favorite restaurant south of Palm Beach but north of Miami.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
The food is great, and the wait staff and chef are extremely accommodative to special requests and substitution. Try the refried beanl...light and spectacular

I would definitely recommend this place. The ambiance was good and the service was excellent. Wayne, our server, had a great attitude and presented the menu really well. Overall was a very good experience.

Flavors I've never tasted before
Descriptions of food only go so far. Tasting is the proof and here the flavors combine to create wonderful sensations I've not experienced before. Great food! Great service! Comfortable ambiance.

Eduardo de San Angel always delivers with excellent food and service. You will never go wrong for flavor combinations that builds as you eat. Cannot say enough as words cannot match the experience, you have to go and enjoy!

food is really out of ordinary, a quality that you will remember. And the service... just that is enough to give you the idea of returning.

An Outstanding Dinner
Again, going to Eduardo de San Angel reminded us why its one of our favorite restaurants. The menu has something for everyone's taste--the only problem is that making a decision is very difficult. The wine choices are extensive, and while a bit on the expensive side, the prices are reasonable for the quality. The wait staff are very attentive. Most important the food is delicious and the presentation is very attractive. A five star for sure!!
11/13/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great little place. Lit and decorated tastefully, Every interaction with staff incredible. Wayne whom looked after our group knowledgable about every detail on the menu and specials. Made great recommendations, When the food arrived the table was in complete silence. 7 very happy people eating amazing dishes. A+++++++

Awesome as always!
You can't go wrong with this restaurant. Top 5 in South Florida!

I've heard people say that "gourmet Mexican" cuisine is an oxymoron - obviously these people have never been to Eduardo's.
This place is top shelf in all respects.
