Great French Restaurant!!
Great food with a relaxed atmosphere.
They have some really good French wines that are hard to find elsewhere.
We had the lobster special and could not get enough!
Always happy with the escargots.
Everything else we tasted was amazing . . . Cassoulet, Seabass, special filet with pate . . . can't wait for my next meal there.

Love Restaurant Ducroix. I feel as if I am in France: really good food and wine without the trappings of American restaurant decor. Prices are very reasonable; the emphasis is on the food and the service is delightful. It really is a find in a neighborhood that has some very expensive restaurants and some lower end ones, but few that focus on good french bistro food at good prices. We had a great evening there.

Food was awesome. But service
Food was awesome. But service was really bad. Took the server about an hour and half for us to just order. Ordered a salad but it never arrived.

Superb menu & excellent preparation
As visitors to SF a local recommended Ducroix. We went for business lunch and found it to be a solid winner. Food is interesting with excellent preparation. Everyone in our group enjoyed their selection. We liked it so much we returned for dinner one evening. Even though we ordered what seemed to be simple dishes ( Risotto with side orders of vegetables and salads), we found everything we superbly prepared... these folks deliver great food. The café is small and simple, but don't be surprised to find it growing quickly as it is a real find. One final note: they are truly thoughtful folks: I left my credit card behind and they quickly found my cell phone number on the reservation, alerting me while I was still in the area.A real Gem!

Overall I enjoy going to this
Overall I enjoy going to this restaurant. It is small, so they only have person taking orders. This person can get a little overwhelmed between taking your order and getting you tab. I would still recommend the restaurant. Just be patient.

French in Chinatown
I've always enjoyed this restaurant. I love the French food that is pretty authentic. I've confirmed this with my French/European friends. It's a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. And I love that it's not in the heart of the French district (ie Bush St) because I'm not competing with the tourists and local FiDi folks! My favorite lunch is their Salade Nicoise...although I wish it were prepared the old-fashioned way with the cooked tuna, not the ahi. I know a lightly seared tuna is popular, but there is something nostalgic the old way which makes it more authentic. Most French restaurants don't make it the traditional way anymore. But I still love the place.

Great spot for bistro-esque food
Lunched here earlier in the week. Very simple but pure French food. Friendly and attentive service. I had the salmon with a gratin potato in a green salad. Excellent and fairly priced. I'll be back for more!

Surprising find - quiet little spot
Right on the border of chinatown in a building that doesn't look like much, this was a great find for a few friends looking for a quiet meal out. Sipped red wine and ate terrific classic french dishes, with friendly and knowledgeable service.

I went to Decroix for the first time for my 30th Birthday last Saturday. Wow! A hidden gem in the middle of China town! The place is really quaint, and I knew I was in for a delicious meal as soon as I entered because everything coming out of the kitchen smelled amazing. Not too many patrons inside on a Saturday night which is a shame because this place is absolutely worth checking out. A truly special and secret little place you would never expect to find in the neighborhood. Also, If by chance you're looking for a cute place to take some one out on a date, this would be a perfect destination. Waitstaff was very professional and polite, over all excellent experience. Can't wait to go back!

Unpretentious French gem
My group and I were blown away with the unbelievably fabulous fresh, unfussy, delicious food! I have already shared my experience with a number of friends. I'm afraid the location can be a detriment, only because there is not a lot of foot traffic after the work day and people leave the area (borders Financial Center and Chinatown). I will definitely go back! Highly recommend.

great French Bistrot
I have dragged quite a few of my (mostly americans) co-workers there and it was always a hit.
The only thing is that it is quite expensive for an everyday lunch. Having said that, I still think it is totally worth it.
Not a lot of tables but it is usually packed for lunch and they could probably not handle more without more people waiting tables.
They have all the classic French food items (and for me comfort food). I have tried the blanquette, the filet Rossini, the boeuf Bourguignon and a few others and was always extremely happy with the quality. Only the wait could make me double think if I should go there, but that's another French concept: a long lunch break of 2 hours...

The caramelized pear, brie
The caramelized pear, brie and endive salad is fantastic. Excellent food but pricey. The restaurant could use some sprucing up.

Fantastic Rustic French setting.
This is real hand made, cooked to order food. Fantastic ambience.

Authentic French Bistro
We love this new lunch place in the FiDi. The Croque Madame is as if you're in France.

Great food and service
First of all the service was outstanding. Super attentive, friendly , and helpful. At one point the waiter even walked outside to help my friend find parking. The food was amazing. I can still taste the lamb shank with blueberries two days later. It's a bit pricey but if you love great food this is the spot to be.

Understated and perfect.
Everything I ever wanted it to be and so much more. Our sever Phillip, was perfect, attentive to details, experienced, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The food was everything you want from real, quality, french cooking, the sauces divine, the meats cooked to perfection, the wine pairing sublime. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted amazing food at a bargain price, I could not believe this place was not crawling on a Friday night. We will be back!

Dine out; feel at home
This small, charming spot is as warm as someone's home and as good as any restaurant in the city. The environment is cozy and unassuming while the food and service are outstanding. This little gem is a hidden treasure on the edge of the financial district that's well worth searching out.

Charming and tasteful
Food was great, wine list is short but selectoon is good - French and Californian
Service - I like their style, good pace with appropriate pauses.

Crouching Chef, Hidden Gem
It was an absolute joy finding Ducroix seemingly hiding in plain site - terrific French inspired menu with surf, turf, and many creative vegetarian options. Two of us dined on a Tuesday evening and the scene was relatively quiet, with less than half of the tables occupied. We both ordered fish entrees - sea bass and salmon, and both were cooked to perfection. Our waiter recommended a Beaujolais to pair with our dinner- delicious. We passed on dessert, though the offerings were very tempting. We'll be back!

Wonderful French Food Venue
Food great but staff seemed a bit overwhelmed
At times. Had to ask for bread bowl twice along with water.
Escargot didn't seem as perfect as it usually is. Risotto was amazing
As were the profiteroles for dessert.

Great place for lunch
I have been to Ducroix several times now and I am always pleased with their excellent food and fine service. It is a great place to have lunch with friends. The only thing I noticed this time was that the noise level has gone up a bit and it was difficult to hear the conversation. Otherwise, a great experience!
