Outstanding food! We were just going to have 2 plates but after tasting the first 2, ordered 2 more! Beautiful presentation. Highly recommend.

Food was excellent and well presented. Our server was superb, friendly and efficient. Restaurant is modern and very comfortable. Will stay at the hotel next time my wife and I need a weekend away from the kids. Super location.

I'm not sure if it was just a slow day for Victor, but it definitely felt like a hidden gem when we went for Mother's Day. The entire dining experience was pleasurable.
The attentiveness of the wait staff was impeccable and the amuse bouches sent out compliments of the chef were a very nice surprise, which made us feel like VIPs. All the food was plated beautifully and there was a meticulous craft in how well the proteins were cooked and seasoned.
It was an absolute joy dining here and I only wish I could receive this kind of service at all the restaurants I went to.

Great place for a pre-show dinner
Off the "beaten track" in terms of the King Street strip of restaurants but excellent food and service. Some people disdain hotel restaurants but no need to shy away from this one. Food was delicious and service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

Is really the best way to describe our experience. The flavours were incredible, the service phenomenal, and we were even given jars of the chefs Toronto Spice to take home with us for free!
Will definitely be back.

Pre Theatre Dining Treat
Everything worked. Lovely room. Helpful and attentive staff. Great food. Out in a timely manner.

My husband and I dined at Victor before going to the theatre. We didn't have much time and booked it because it was nearby. Everything exceeded our expectations -- the service was quick, knowledgeable and friendly, the food was amazing -- even their salad was delicious. The dining room has two sections a quieter dining one and a more energetic section with a bar, so you can choose your mood. Would definitely be back.

Food was nice to look at but
Food was nice to look at but a bit underseasoned. The market fish tasted a little fishy, probably because it was also a bit underseasoned.

A little bit too fast
Nice food nice service but a little bit too fast... I like to have some time between
each service... But really good and SYMPA.

The restaurant was superbly furnished - very contemporary. The service too was excellent. The food was fantastic, and though on the expensive end, it was worth it. It was the best food from our week in Toronto. Loved sharing the 3 taster desserts with my wife.

Pre theatre treat
Food was outstanding as was the staff. Great variety of food selection. Elegantly served.

Nice...but not as good as expected.
The service was great (although a bit slow...cutting it close for our theatre engagement) and the waitress was excellent. The ambiance was nice, upscale, quiet and roomy...but it did feel like we were dining in the hotel bar (albeit a very nice hotel and a very nice hotel bar). Our group of six did the Toronto Tasting as appetizers. Most were excellent, some were just OK. Note that these are tough to share because of (small-ish) portions and presentation. Our mains were hit and miss, as well. The steaks were overcooked. The tuna was OK. The chicken breast was very good and the Arctic Char was excellent. The wine list is extensive. We had the Montepulciano D'Abbruzzo which was very good.

After movie dinner
There was something for everyone around the table. We like something flavourful and not too heavy for a late evening meal and the soup, sushi pizza and lobster dumpling apps were perfect for us. The restuarant wasn't completely full but there was still good energy in the room. It was a perfect cap to a fun evening at TIFF.

The Toronto tasting menu is
The Toronto tasting menu is an excellent idea. We tried the Hungarian stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls and Moroccan lamb from the Toronto tasting menu. Loved the first two but the lamb was stellar. We also highly recommend the beef carpaccio. The various plates we ordered were paired together well and the pacing of the meal was excellent. We did not try any of the mains, just trying the tasting plates and starters which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were attentive, very friendly and helpful answering questions. We highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Chrystian is VICTOR-ious!
Chrystian's tasting menu pays hommage to the many ethnic neighborhoods and streets that call Toronto home. Each dish on the tasting menu is $14 which is a bargain for the top notch dishes offered. There are no preset number of courses, making it one of the most versatile tasting menus in Toronto. There's also a regular dinner menu available.
My best friend and I went with the tasting menu route and had no regrets!
VICTOR definitely makes the rotation. Chrystian does a really good job at highlighting the many ethnic communities of Toronto with his tasting menu. The gnocchi may not be as authentic as nonna's but I'd gladly trade in authenticity for deliciousness.

Tucked away on a quiet side street in Toronto's first luxury boutique hotel (Hotel Le Germain), a 5-minute stroll from Roy Thomson Hall, theatres and TIFF Bell Lightbox, VICTOR is far and away my favourite for entertaining friends for an excellent, leisurely supper before or after Symphony, theatre or Film Festival events.
The maitre d' is charming. The small but interesting menu includes "Toronto Tastings" representing different neighbourhoods and ethnic cuisines. The ambience is sophisticated, in keeping with this charming hotel.
Added advantages for an unhurried, relaxing evening: VICTOR opens at 5:00 p.m. and stays open late; and the Hotel has valet parking.
Guests I have taken to VICTOR are always delighted by the discovery.

We were very intrigued by the menu options and would definately return! Our favorites were Little Italy and Leslieville part of the toronto tasting menu.

Great service and food
Great location if you're going to the Princess of Wales Theatre or Second City. The service is great and they make sure you're out in lots of time for the theatre without feeling rushed. The restaurant is attached to Hotel Le Germain so it's also great for a late night drink and snack. Great recommendations on wine too.
