True Italian with a flare
Being an Italian food snob, I was VERY impressed by Pastavino. I loved the portion sizes and their ability to bring home cooking flavors and mix them with a new age flare. Plate presence was beautiful and each dish presented on adjacent tables intrigued me as well. Although the wines by the glass list was short, it made it easy to find something simple that paired easily with my dish. Highlight of the evening was the Crema al Caramello. The slight hint of lemon gave this flavorful vanilla custard just what it needed to cap off the evening. Thank you for a great first dining experience.

My sister and I were travelling
My sister and I were travelling to Boulder for a girls weekend and were looking for a good dinner spot for both of us (one vegetarian one non-vegetarian) and we saw PastaVino on yelp. The food was excellent and the service was even better. The young woman who took care of us was friendly and helpful. She definitely made the experience memorable and enjoyable. I wish I remember her name- all I remember is she was also from the Midwest! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to friends travelling to Colorado!

New restaurant in what was
New restaurant in what was Juanita's Mexican previously. Nice modern design, very good service. Fresh and organic ingredients. Caprese and bruschetta were both excellent and you could taste the freshness. Pizza's were wood fired baked. Crust thin and crips, freshly made. Only comment for the prosciutto pizza would be to add a bit more oil and garlic--seasoning as it was dry. Salami pizza was very good. Wide selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Excellent selection of grappas and amare for post dinner. Dessert menu had usual tiramisu. We had chocolate tarte which was very rich and tasty. Worth going to for an upscale dinner without the upscale price.

We dined at Pastavino on April
We dined at Pastavino on April 5, 2013 and had a fabulous meal. The baguette was outstandingly prepared as it was crisp, light, and very tasty. My husband ordered the Brodetto di Pesce and I ordered the Risotto ai Porcini. Both dishes were prepared supremely. I added some of the Brodetto broth to my Risotto which fully enhanced the deliciously prepared dish. We also had the soup of the day which was roasted chicken with onions and carrots. The broth was lovely and not overly salty.
The contemporary decor creates a very light and airy appeal. Though the upstairs was a bit loud at times, the downstairs appears to offer a quieter and more intimate setting.
Definitely a win and we will be back.

Three pasta entrees - Lasagna (very nice), Ravioli (excellent), Pasta with scallops and spinach (very good). And the house made bread was really good also.

I took my girlfriend out to
I took my girlfriend out to Pastavino for dinner and had an amazing time. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared, the mixed drink and wine selections were superb, everything was moderately priced, the decor was appealing and well designed and the waitstaff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Overall this place was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend for a nice dinner or as a great date spot.

Nice little place
From menu, their salads are fabulous. We were eating very early in the evening, so the restaurant was nearly empty. Atmosphere would probably be quite different later in the evening.

Our first time to this restaurant. I had the ravioli in brown butter sauce - it was excellent. Would definitely order it again. My husband had the lasagna - it was just OK (pasta was a bit overcooked and it started to congeal by the end of the meal). Would not order that again. Prices were reasonable, especially for the Pearl Street area. It was pretty loud in the restaurant.

Went for anniversary dinner and happened to catch the end of happy hour. Able to each enjoy a cocktail, share an appetizer, and each had a pizza which we took home half all for well under $50. The meals are well put together with fresh ingredients.

We had a lovely dinner at Pastavino with another couple who had been there the previous week and highly recommended it. There is a large and varied menu that is very fairly priced! The chef came by our table to check in which was truly a gracious touch you don't see much these days. After the meal the chef sent out complimentary limoncello for all of us. WOW!! We usually only are treated this graciously in Europe ;-)
Overall, the service was very nice. Attentive without being too overbearing.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for authentic Italian food. Excellent appetizers that are generous portions, pizza, pastas, risotto as well as interesting seafood and meats.

Pleasing Italian Restaurant
My wife and I have eaten at PastaVino three or four times and the food has been consistently good. The caprese appetizer is very good (excellent mozzarella). The rosemary bread is delicious. My wife's lasagna was very good. I found my spaghetti and sausage a bit too spicy for my taste, but most diners probably would have liked it. The sauce was excellent. Unlike some places in Boulder, I applaud PastaVino for offering a reasonably-priced wine list. It's too late now, probably, but I wish the tables were a little larger. With wine, appetizer and bread, things were very cramped on the table. Other than that, I'd recommend PastaVino for a good casual meal, attentive service and reasonable prices.

Delicious Gluten Free
Visiting our son while at college. Looking for some place that served gluten free pasta. We didn't know what to expect. What a beautiful, open, clean, upscale space. The food was delicious. It was the first time he had pasta since going off to school. We started off with gluten free flat bread, he then proceeded to eat his own plate, finished mine and even had a delicious gluten free desssert. We will definitely be back.

Pastavino hit the ball out of the ballpark on all levels. Customer service, atmosphere, and most notably the food. We had a moderately sized party and thus had the opportunity to appreciate a number of appetizers and other menu items. All items were nicely prepared and brought about a complex level of flavors that melted on the tongue. Complemented with a well recommended wine list. Well done Pastavino!!!! Bravo.

This was our first time at Pastavino and we were very happy to find this new locally owned restaurant. I had a risotto dish with monkfish. The taste was incredible and the fish was perfectly prepared. Very good service too.
10/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food! Very creative! My only negative is that they put all the 2 tops in a row, which is space efficient, but not very conducive to an intimate evening. We'll go again.

the only pasta I will eat
I always avoid it - but not here. It is succulent, unusual, always paired with delicious and surprising
flavors and there is never too much.

Nice but Noisy
Pasta dishes & wine selection were superb as always. Service attentive bordering on intrusive as before. Very pleasant visual atmosphere. Brick & hardboard walls create noise-- not sure "energetic" is the descriptor I would use. Hard to enjoy a romantic or friendly meal since conversation is hard to hear. Probably OK for family parties. Prices are reasonable for the fine food.

Food is worth the 'meh' service
for whatever reason, our service was pretty lousy. the food was the only saving grace.

West Pearl Italian gem
It's hard to imagine that a restaurant West of the Pearl street Mall in Boulder could be overlooked by hordes of
discriminating diners....But this one doesn't get the full attention it deserves, mainly because it is sandwiched between
Salt and the 3 very popular Kitchen properties.
You ought to try it when you are next in town for a special meal. The cheerful and bright interior is very welcoming, along with the staff. Food choices were varied and well executed. Desserts were especially creative and delicious.
I'm definitely going here for Happy Hour when first the occasion presents itself!

Great for large groups
I had a group of ladies join me for dinner and it turned out to be a great dining experience. Our waiter was not pushy and allowed to take our time reviewing the menu. Ambiance was fun, noise level was perfect to converse with everyone at the table. Even the hostess came around and asked how we were doing and even poured us more wine.
Would definitely return.
