Friendly (but not too friendly)
Friendly (but not too friendly) server; she was as attentive as she could be and let us take our time. Fun tasting some wines at the table before selecting one for dinner. Fabulous oysters on the half shell. The lobster trio meal was very very tasty. Love the flavors and presentation. Husband had the lamb, which he raved about. Highly recommend.

Excellent food and presentation
Excellent food and presentation - just the right amount and reasonably priced. Excellent apple martini! When the tables fill up it is difficult to get through an isle and out of the restaurant.

Excellent Find Near Mount Airy, MD
My third trip to Drover's. Once again, the food was outstanding. I began with a Lobster Bisque that was simply fantastic. That was followed by a filet that was cooked to perfection. Along with that were excellent mashed potatoes and excellent summer squash. The flavors in all of the dishes were very, very good. At one point, the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to check and see how everyone was enjoying their dinner. It was a very nice touch and he seemed genuinely concerned that everyone enjoyed what he prepared. In addition, the service for our party of 8 was very good. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their food. In my view, this restaurant rivals any restaurant in the Balt. wash. region. Well worth the trip!!

Great Times are found here!
This is a gem of a restaurant. The food it phenomenal and the staff are lovely, especially the owners and managers.
Definately do their opera nights, it's an extra treat!
Top notch food that's local and often organic, can't beat the whole experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner out at Drovers. Waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable. Chef Kevan visited our table and was very friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to returning and bringing friends!

Very pleased once again
Ate at Drovers with friends. Both husbands had the filet, which was fabulous! The ladies both enjoyed the Pot of Wellness. This was my 3rd visit to Drovers and I have never been disappointed.

We had a lovely time and fabulous food. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. My husband wanted to go back the next day and have the same things he had eaten gain.

Great little restaurant
This was my first time at this restaurant since it changed ownership and management. The food was excellent, with beautiful presentation. It is nicely decorated with a wonderful quiet ambience, and the servers were quietly attentive. We brought along a couple of friends who could definitely be considered "foodies", and they had high praise for the whole experience. What a great find, just down the road from Mt. Airy!

Special birthday experience
We recently enjoyed a special birthday meal. We started with Oysters Rochefeller, very large delicious oysters from Delaware, prepared with ramps, I think, instead of spinach. Then, cups of soup: lobster bisque and cream of asparagus, followed by the gorgeous grilled romaine salad. We had glasses of Boordy Rockfish white wine, which complemented the first courses. Then we had a delectable aged beef and Catch of the Day Monkfish with pecan crust, accompanied by shrimp, beautifully presented, with perfect fresh asparagus. Wine was an Italian amarone. Delicious. Dessert was light: white chocolate ice cream and a strawberry sorbet with our after dinner drinks. Just a perfect dining experience.

The food was fabulous - the presentation was amazing and the quality was outstanding. We'll definitely be back! Service was top-notch too. We even met the owner - who was so kind and accommodating. Kudos!

Drover's is off the beaten path but well worth the find. The chef's presentation of the dishes is outstanding and very original. Portions sizes are just right and you might have room to share a delicious dessert. I have been there several times and only once was it seated to capacity. One of the big pluses is that is not always packed and therefore very quiet and conducive to conversation. I just cross my fingers that this little place continues to thrive and survive!

What a Find! Go by Aug 5!
We went because of the positive Open Table reviews. We were glad we went! Go now for Restaurant Week until August 5 - fixed price menu for $40 per person. Lovely lettuce salad. Generous helping of fresh tomato & mozzerella and pesto. 28 day aged NY strip - tender, flavorful, charbroiled. Dessert was pureed pear over a flat baked tart with ice cream. Husband had a small chocolate desert. Love the local and organically raised meat and produce and that it is family owned, cooked, hosted and waited. Noelle was gracious and made you feel welcome. The watermelon margarita was great. We will go back for restaurant week to try other dishes and definitely afterwards as well. We have another favorite restaurant!

A real good find!
My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant since it was on Howard County restaurant week and the Restaurant Week menu looked interesting. We were not disappointed. The food was well prepared, very tasty, and the presentations were very nice. The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant's only shortcoming was the wine list. The chef/owner tries to source from local offerings. This makes selecting good wines difficult. Maryland is not the wine capital of the world. We were able to find an Etude Pinot Noir on the wine list and grabbed it up for $60.00. Being a "Wino", my only hesitation about going back to this restaurant, is the wine list. If wine is not your passion, go to this restaurant without hesitation. Maybe BYO?

We went during Howard County Restaurant Week. The food was wonderful. The staff that night seemed short handed, as service was slow. Otherwise we throughly enjoyed our meal.

Nice place out in the middle of Maryland's God's Country.

Very Enjoyable Experience
1st visit to Drovers during Restaurant Week. Service was skilled and attentive; food was fresh, delicious and inventive. Drovers was only serving the restaurant week menu. This was not a problem for our party, as the RW menu was quite varied, and even the very picky eater in our party thoroughly enjoyed her selections. I've eaten at other establishments whose RW offerings were uninspiring, & ala carte offerings during RW were not up to par. This was not the case at Drovers, and I think it a wise decision to only offer a limited special menu during restaurant week. Not only was my experience one of the best restaurant week meals I've enjoyed anywhere, but I will definitely return to enthusiastically sample their regular menu.

Amazing - Again!
What more can I say; I have been to Drover's THREE (yes, three) times in the past month. I absolutely love it. I've even introduce it to my friends, who now love Drover's as well. Restaurant Week was my last visit - awesome menu. If you have not tried them, do so ASAP. We need to support them so they stick around! It does not look like much outside, but come in and try the food and you won't be disappointed.

Our meals were very good. The second course of ahi tuna is out of this world. I had chicken Chesapeake and hubby had fillet. Both were excellent, beautifully prepared and so enjoyable. Ganache chocolate cake is too good to describe in words.

A hidden gem in Howard County
The Mount Airy area is a glut of pizza shops, fast food and mediocre restaurants. However, Drover's is an notable exception to that rule. On our first visit to this hidden gem we enjoyed gourmet-like food and excellent service. We were impressed with everything: the drinks from the bar, appetizers, entrées and the dessert. We will go back!

The food at Drover's is always incredible. The best cornmeal fried oysters I've ever had. The grilled romaine salad is out of this world. The Poplar Seafood Pasta and Sea Scallops were both delicious. Wish I could eat here every night. We've been to Drover's several times and never a bad meal. Would highly recommend.

A Hidden Gem
If you are not familiar with this location, you can easily drive by the restaurant...but don't! Drover's Grill was well worth the drive! The bar is separate from the rest of the restaurant, but that was ok. The bartended was very friendly and easy to engage in conversation. The menu was somewhat limited, but everything on their looked delicious. Highly recommend the Angus Stroganoff! If you are looking for a out-of-the-way restaurant for some classic provincial dining - Drover's Grill is perferct!

The restaurant's service, food, ambiance, and over all atmosphere was fantastic. It's a bit of a drive from Baltimore City, but it's worth it for a special occasion. Keep it up guys.

Fabulous once again
Great date night place. Delicious food and romantic ambiance. Always order the grilled romaine salad and tried the stuffed bison for the 1st time. It was wonderful. Always a pleasure for Kevin to stop by the table.

never a bad meal
My family loves this place. The food is always excellent. It is a bit pricy, so we save it for special occasions. I love that the meals are constantly changing to what is in season. My only complaint is they aren't open for lunch.

A Great Little Place
Drover's is a fine dining experience. Food is always excellent and each fare is explained by the wait staff to a tee!

Had a very good celebratory dinner.
I had a wonderful time there once I arrived, but I must commend the staff there for keeping this from being a terrible night. They really went above and beyond because I was an hour late and my wife was very upset and ready to leave before I arrived!
11/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great as Usual
Drover's never fails at providing exemplary table service, exquisite food, and inventive cocktails. It is absolutely worth the trek to visit for a first or a fifth time.

Nice quiet evening celebration
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Drovers and were very pleased with the food and the service. Since it was on a Tuesday evening, we weren't expecting a large crowd at the restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised to be the only patrons of the restaurant. It was nice to have a quiet, private dinner. The food was delicious and our waiter was very accommodating. I will recommend this restaurant to our friends.
