A French Treasure in the Poconos
We have tried a lot of OpenTable restaurants and this is the first time we have been moved to make a comment. We really enjoyed our experience at Le Persil Bistro - so much so that we went there twice for dinner in the three days we were in Stroudsburg. The ambiance is very inviting and the food is delicious. It is clear that everything is made from scratch using traditional French recipes and the preparations of salads, entrees and desserts are both attractive to look at and enjoyable to linger over. We will certainly go for another meal there next time we are in the area.

What is the best thing to say about a restaurant? To me, it would be if you become a regular diner. We like this place for its family warmth, consistent quality and reasonable pricing. We think you will, too.

Great French Restaurant
BYOB. Food was great and service attentive. Many choices. We called to say we would be late - 8:30 pm on a Monday, and it was no problem. Mussels, coq au vin, boeuf, etc. Our wine was chilled for us at table side. French music playing in background with photos of France on the walls. Chef came out to meet us at our request - very nice. Only problem was that cordon blue was not available that evening. Please give this place a try!

Fine French food
We had a very pleasant 3 course meal for a very fair price. Loved both the onion soup and the butternut squash soup. Favorite entree was the lemon chicken...the beef entree was bait dry. Both the chocolate mousse and crime brûlée were super!!
Great to be able to bring your own wine...they will open and chill it for you. Give this place a try !

Le Persil is a small gem of a restaurant on quaint Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA. The food, prepared by Jovita and her brother is delicious! We are surrounded by fast food and chain restaurants in the area and unfortunately too many people are satisfied with mediocre food at high prices. Try Le Persil and be pleased with wonderful appetizers, entrees, and desserts that are not delivered to your table all at once!

Le Persil Bistro a nice change
Le Persil Bistro is a nice change from the typical bar scene on Main Street in Stroudsburg. Restaurant has limited seating and is a BYOB(which i like) but be aware closet liquor store is several blocks away so I recommend yoiu buy before getting to restaurant. The food was fresh, had great flavor and was presented nicely I had the chicken Cordon Blu which was quite good as was the Risotto. The serve was a little slow but I believe that is because the meal was done from scratch. Give it a try if ever in downtown Stroudsburg.

Le Persil was a delightful surprise. The food was prepared and cooked to perfection. Although there were only two servers, the service was just right, not to slow and not rushed. The servers were attentive yet not intrusive. There was a special menu, with a special price for clients who were attending a nearby music festival after dinner. What a thoughtful touch!
After asking directions to the festival site we received verbal and written directions in a warm, friendly manner.
We will be returning to Le Persil in the future.

Authentic French Food on Main St.!!
Delicious from the appetizers to the main entree' to the dessert and coffee! Excellent sauces, the chicken and steak were tremendous and cooked to order. Hard to find a place with awesome service, food and will cook a steak rare! BYOB is a real money saver. The presentation and time space between courses was superb. Will be back soon! Love it!

Classic French Cuisine
You'd think you were in France, the food is that good. Classic French Cuisine expertly prepared in a charming small bistro in quaint downtown Stroudsburg. It's a BYOB that's well worth the trip!

We were on vacation looking for a nice romantic restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were NOT disappointed. Bridgette, our server, was a sweetheart & very accommodating. We shared the ceasar salad w/ bacon delicious, fresh & chilled with a fabulous dressing! Entrees of NY strip, cooked to perfection & the Braised Beef Burgundy, which was amazing! Kudos to the chef!! She came out & personally greeted & served us desserts! (crepes Suzette&creme brulee, both delicious)! I HIGHLY recommend this charming BYOB to anyone looking for a Fabulous meal!!

Delicious French food!
Charming little restaurant in Stroudsburg that serves traditional French fare. We had the mussels (yum!), snails (got my children to try them!), chicken with Riesling sauce (really yummy! Tasted like they used home made chicken stock in sauce), steak frites with bearnaise sauce and really good fries with a gorgeous side of potatoes gratin. Had choc soufflé, creme brûlée and crepes for dessert. The waitress and the chef were delightful. It was a very rainy night with about 5 tables filled out of about 7. The restaurant could probably do with a touch more decoration as it felt just a little stark. Some candles on the tables and some French-style blackboards with the menu written in chalk perhaps? We had a very nice evening and will be back.

The restaurant has a small, homey atmosphere that makes eating a very pleasurable experience. The food is always supberbly done and the fresh vegetable side dish is the best.

Linen tablecloths and gentle French melodies add to the flavors of the foods. A little taste of the Old World can be had in this small birstro. It certainly will be an enjoyable evening

unexpected find - #1 choice!
Happy, fortuitous find in Stroudsburg! Wonderful and welcoming staff, delightful French menu, and eager-to-please chef made this a special dinner in a corner of PA otherwise not known for much culinary to say the least. Linen tablecloths and quiet ambiance to boot. The BYOB policy made the whole meal very reasonable (liquor store with good selection just 2 blocks away). For anyone visiting the area - this is your #1 choice!!

wonderful gem in stroudsburg pa
Le Persil is a wonderful restaurant with great ambience. The food is superb and the owner and wait staff are very gracious and efficient. We only wish they were still open on Sundays for brunch - more time to enjoy their delicious fare!

Oh ma, the mahi mahi!
I am working my way through the menu *again* and had the mahi mahi on this visit. It was prepared with capers, grape tomatoes, a little onion and the best buttery lemon sauce - light and delicious. It was served with a choice of starch. My choice this evening was the mashed potato, possibly the best I've ever had. Finished with the chocolate mousse. A great dining experience.

A Gem in the Poconos
A charming little restaurant with excellent french food. Most restaurants in the area are geared to college students focusing on burgers, wings, and cocktails. This is authentic french food with excellent boeuf bourguignon, mussels in white wine and garlic, escargot, and crepes. There are even some dishes that require a days notice to prepare such as poached peaches and pears, a delicacy rarely found except in the most expensive venues. The prices a very good for the quality of the food. Also, the restaurant is BYOB, with the restaurant providing corkage and wine buckets for those bringing champagne or white wine. This is a great find in to Poconos and could easily succeed in Manhattan or Philadelphia.

Good Food, Few Frills
Le Persil Bistro presents itself exactly as a French Bistro should -- buttoned up but casual, simple yet elegant, and just enough energy to keep out the stuffiness.
We (two of us) started off with the roasted beet salad. I am dubious about whether the beets were truly roasted, however, the salad was a good portion, had a nice simple dressing, and the cheese they used to top it with was really high quality and flavorful. . We split the Filet and Bourguignon entrees; both were flavorful but not too salty (as French food sometimes is), and the Filet was cooked exactly as we ordered it.
Overall, this restaurant is excellent in terms of food, service and ambiance. Hint: take advantage of the BYOB and visit one of Penn's local wineries!

A must visit
This was a charming place in the Poconos. The food was exception. Service over the top. I had a business lunch and the team did just amazingly well to accommodate our working lunch. Food was exceptional. Can't wait for dinner next time and to visit again. This is a must if you are in the Poconos !!

We are in desperate need of a French restaurant in this area. We went on a Friday night, it's a BYOB which is nice, the food was great, the chef came out to greet us which is rarely done, but the personal touch made us feel welcome. I had the lobster ravioli and it was fantastic, the best I've ever had. My husband had the coq au vin, the sauce was rich and delicious, the chicken was tender and moist but the chicken tasted like it was previously refrigerated and reheated. My husband had the crepes suzette which was really delicious! I had the fresh fruit crepes which was also great, the crepes were light with just a hint of vanilla, yummy! I want to go back and try all the deserts, they sounded wonderful and I am a desert lover.

We had some friends from Phila come to stay with us and we wanted a restaurant that was cozy, BYOB, had good food and was quiet enough so we could catch up with our old friends. We had it all!
