Always look forward to meals at Cafe Du Parc. There are no better Mussels in the area.

A terrific people watching
A terrific people watching spot just next to the Willard Hotel. The restaurant's outdoor space is lovely, breezy and truly feels a bit of France in DC. The wait staff and sommelier Matthew were terrific. The food was wonderful: an excellent salad and marvelous steak frites! the only negative: we waited 1/2 hour for a table with a reservation. That needs a bit of attention.

Fantastic dining experience!
The food and table service were supurb! The french onion soup is done to perfection with the right amount of all ingredients. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the croque monsieur and both dishes and sides were outstanding. We're foodies with a high standard for dining out and we will definitely be returning.

Cafe du Parc brunch - if you sit outside on the rail, it can almost feel like you're in Paris, the way DC mimics it especially on Penn down to the Capitol. Very good food here but not cheap

Good food, great atmosphere
I always enjoy Cafe du Parc. It's a nice space with professional and courteous staff. My favorite is mussels - served in a huge bowl with lots of tasty sauce. The wines were excellent. The staff know just how much to bother you - they're attentive without being annoying. The noise level was low - definitely a "grown up" space where diners can actually talk and hear each other.
I will go again soon

Definitely for French fare
Definitely for French fare fans. Loved the way the waiter kept refilling our iced teas!

I don't think there's a better outdoor spot in the city on a nice day. Feels a little like Paris. Plus, The Willard Hotel will validate for valet parking at lunch and dinner. The trout almondine and green beans was terrific and extremely diet-friendly, if you turn donw the bread basket. My friend's steak/frites looked out of this world. Need to remember about Cafe du Parc more often . . .

I had hoped for more nuance
I had hoped for more nuance on the restaurant the food was good but not up to the level of the better restaurants in DC WE Chose this for a special occasion and it did not fit the bill
A solid dinner a bit overpriced I expected more at the Willard

we picked a perfect night
we picked a perfect night for sitting outside. Food, wine and service were great. It was a special occasion so a great place for a splurge!
Only drawback was the really loud noise from the tour buses that were on the street for about a half hour or so.
7/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
very nice meal on a pleasant night
Title says it all. Must not be in a hurry...it was relaxing, more European feel. Mussels were fantastic as was the foie gras with rhubarb, pork chop was very moist a perfect. But the real hit of the meal was the scallop entre - best ever . Have been about 10 times and will return 10 more. ENJOY!

Another great lunch
I was delighted to be able to sit outside despite morning rains for a lovely lunch with a friend from out of town. The service was friendly and prompt, the food delicious, and the presentation very good. My only complaint is that I had to wait -- since I arrived a little before 11:30 for an early lunch. Once we nudged the staff in the cafe, they found the hostess who prepared our table.

Good bistro night on Penn Avenue
We took advantage of an unusually cool August afternoon to have lunch outdoors. I'd forgotten how nice this little bistro, attached to the Willard, can be. Very nice location on the wide sidewalk in this block. Good people watching throughout lunch. Excellent gazpacho with avacado, melon to start. Nice salmon with roast vegetables and foamed sauce. Nice list of wines by the glass. Overall, very pleasant place for al fresco dining.

A Birthday to Remember
A family gathering at the Café du Parc for my Mom's birthday was elegant and scrumptious, yet casual and energetic.
8/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is the second year in a row we have celebrated our birthdays (my husband, friend, and I all celebrate the same week) at Cafe du Parc. Sitting outside both times it reminds us of how beautiful DC is and the food and service are both excellent. Our waiter's knowledge of wine was outstanding and he made sure we had a wonderful night, again.

Went to this restaurant with our Pleebe from the USNA as part of Parents Weekend. Beautiful summer evening relaxing under the stars. Food was excellent and just what she wanted. Service was outstanding. Complimentary valet parking made it easy to arrive and depart without worry. Definitly would recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in casual and relaxing setting.

Wonderful Outdoor Dining Spot
Enjoy a little glimpse of Paris right on Pennsylvania Avenue. Whether you dine inside or out, this simple but nearly authentic french cafe' at the Willard Hotel will not disappoint. I've dined here many times and am always pleased. Everything is good here and prepared in a french bistro style from the scallops or mussels, to the classic french pate. Desserts are also wonderful and the coffee is some of the best.

A little glimpse of Paris
Took a friend for lunch at the outdoor cafe.... Perfect weather and although the food was not at its best (as I have dined here many times before) the ambience more than made up for it. A wonderful little oasis a block from the White House.....

Great outdoor spot
Friday was a rare treat for August in Washington - knew we wanted to eat outside. Cafe du Parc was the perfect choice. The Waite staff attentive the food superb. The chicken that topped my salad was freshly cooked (pan seared) and obviously range free chicken. Wonderful taste!
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Good food great service
Good food great service. Our server Roy Was attentive and knowlegable. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant for dinner
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
awesome location, mediocre food
The wait staff was superior. The servers were quick and business like. The outside seating was spectacular. They need to remodel the upstairs inside. The food had a great presentation. Unfortunately the food was unspectacular. They have an excellent location. a block from the Whitehouse, that they are squandering. Since they are well positioned geographically, they don't give the food the attention it deserves. My salmon was way too salty. The peach melba was above average. The double espresso was the best I've had in a while.
8/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We arrived before the opening
We arrived before the opening of the sidewalk dining area but were warmly welcomed and had wine/cocktails while waiting at an outdoor table. The service was friendly, prompt, and not intrusive. The chicken and salmon were both superb. The sidewalk location under huge trees made for a delightful start toi the evening.

We had a very good time, the children enjoyed the food and the weather. I hope they keep doing the brunch all year long!

Outstanding Greeting given by the hostess and wait staff! I placed a note that this was a special 1 year wedding anniversary lunch for my wife and I when reserving, and the staff was very mindful of that and even greeted us a happy 1 year anniversary.
It was not only a nice gesture but a memorable one as my wife was surprised of the nice greeting! It's the little things that go a long way! Food was great, outdoor seating is a strong point in this restaurant as it gives that very European feel while dining.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
My wife and I found food excellent
My wife and I found food excellent and ambiance perfect for a Sunday night walk and relaxation. Would recommend to any of my friends.
9/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great European feel
Delicious starters like wild mushroom tarts, pâté with a rhubarb reduction, cheese plates and more. Dinner has Moules and frites (mussels and fries), pork, sea scallops, steak and more. Aside from the great food, its the outdoor tables under lit trees and the wonderful service that adds to te experience. Delightful.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
very good except the salad
very good except the salad dressing is a bit flavorless

Nice outdoor eating
Really nice outdoor atmosphere and food was great. Would eat there again.

Perfect Outdoor Dining
Cafe du Parc is a lovely outdoor setting for brunc and lunch. Doubtless also for late night for people staying at the Willard. It's a special place to bring a special friend.--indeed I picked it for that reason and would again. Maybe next time I won't get stood up do to a miscommunication!
9/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pricey, but worth the money
A co worker recommended Cafe Du Parc and I'm glad they did. I travel to DC once a year and this is definitely the best I've had since I've been going. The duck was terrific and they had a great wine list. The outside seating is best as the upstairs completely lacks any ambiance.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great meal .. but
We were four for dinner. Cocktails, first course, and entree were delightful. Food was well prepared and thoughtfully served. Noteable were the Foie Gras du Torchon and the Tarte Flambee. Wine selection was just OK. Dessert was phenomenal - however there were no dessert wines offered, no ports, cordials or scotch. For a fine dinning place we found this odd. Definately go for the food, the chefs know what they are doing.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Sit Outdoors and Enjoy!
This was my second visit to Café du Parc. The first visit was good but not outstanding - the food was terrific, but the service was poor and the ambience inside is nothing special. We gave it another shot, however, and this time were wowed. Sitting outside is a whole different experience - very European. The service there was strong, and the food continued to be imaginative and delicious. I highly recommend the filet of pork, and my husband raved about the crab cakes. So take advantage of the nice weather and enjoy!

Outstanding Food & Service
Dined here last week with my wife for lunch and everything was top notch! The food was scrumptious and the presentation was beautiful. Our server Roy was attentive, but not overbearing. All in all it was great experience at one of DC's premier restaurants. It truly is a Washintonian top 100 restaurant.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
good but how much butter?
I thought all the food was delicious but I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why I loved the pureed cauliflower on my dish so much was because it was all butter. This place is a typical expensive, tasty, DC staple.

A Paris Bistro in Washington!
Whisk away to Paris for a quick afternoon while in the heart of Washington. We enjoyed a fabulous meal, accompanied by colorful cocktails and desserts that were not only delicious, but also beautiful.
Sitting outside the Williard Hotel on a wonderful October afternoon, we felt as if we were enjoying an afternoon at a Paris Bistro. Every so often we caught a whiff of garlic from the table next to us, where a couple was clearly enjoying their overflowing bowl of mussels as much as we were enjoying our meal. The crabcakes were fabulous; as was the trout and scallops.
There was nothing I would change about the meal or the afternoon.
10/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It's quite fancy, but not at all intimidating. The staff was extremely friendly and really made the evening that much more enjoyable. The food was INCREDIBLE! At first the menu felt limited, but once we got our dishes it was well worth the limitation. The chef has truly created something fantastic. We went for my birthday and I could not have more pleased.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We loved the food, and staff. They were great with my kids too! (Ages 5 and 2)

Pre Theatre Lunch
Lunch was lovely… a traditional Steak Fritte was as good as i would have expected. It's a tiny bit pricy but it is in the Williard… PERFECT spot for Pre-Theatre lunch / dinner for the National or Warner Theatres. Very french feel… with views of Freedom Plaza, one almost feels like one is in Paris.

Always a wonderful experience.
Summer or winter! Cafe du parc means excellent food and service all year round.

Pre Theater Eats
We were a table of four dining at Cafe Du Parc prior to attending the theater. We were greeted by the hostess who quickly confirmed our OpenTable reservation and sat us right away.
We decided to dine off of the regular dinner menu in lieu of the Pre Theater menu which did look good and something we'd consider in the future. The table shared two appetizers (Assiette de Cochonailles; Assiette de Fromages Artisanaux) and enjoyed them thoroughly. We covered the spectrum with respect to entrees, two of the four were excellent. The salmon was good, but could have been better, and the Filet was not up to standard for a contemporary French restaurant.
The wait staff was timely and efficient. We will consider returning in the future.

One of the best pre theater
One of the best pre theater menus of any restaurant!

We had lunch at the Cafe du Parc before a performance at the National Theater. Service and food were both excellent. In fact lunch was better than the play!

Good for pre-matinee lunch
This is the second time I have gone here before a show at theNational. The first was a fluke, we couldn't find anywhere that had room for six. This time was deliberate. I enjoyed both trips. The waiter was very helpful and suggested instead of splitting a salad and getting two orders of mussels, we switch and do two salads and split the mussels. He was right! Everything was good, service was prompt and we strolled leisurely through the Willard lobby to the National in plenty of tome for our two PM curtain. I will go there again.
11/15/2013 4:00:00 PM
Wonderful pre-theater experience
My date and I went to Cafe Du Parc before a show at the National Theater. The service was very good, the cocktail was delicious and both of our meals were perfect. We hope to go back soon when we have more time for a more leisurely meal.
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
A pre-theatre delight
We ate here before a show at National Theatre. We ordered a la carte; I had the scallops and my spouse had the tenderloin. Both were delicious and cooked just right. The scallops were not overdone, the steak was medium rare - as ordered. It was quiet enough for us to have a nice conversation without shouting to be heard - a plus in my book!
11/19/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great location. Food was very good, especially the duck. Service was spotty.
11/27/2013 4:00:00 PM
The gnocchi is delicious, the mussels plentiful, the crab cake moist and full of crab. The prices are consistent with any fine dining restaurant in a major city. Overall our experience was terrific.
11/28/2013 4:00:00 PM
The restaurant has the best onion soup in the region. We have recommend the steak. Was disappointed that the St Homore cake is no longer on the dessert list. Would certainly come back.
I do also recommend making a reservation
through Open Table. We were treated very well and were led to a nice table with the Reserved
12/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
We made reservations at the Cafe to celebrate our anniversary and then planned to go to the theater. Upon learning that it was our anniversary the reservation specialist asked if we wanted anything special. I said: surprise us. Upon arrival, there were roses for my wife and a wonderful card signed by many of the staff. Our servers and everyone else greeted us warmly and made us feel very much 'at home'. The food (prix fixed dinner menu) was outstanding. The salad could have served as a main dish. The mussels and gnocchi were wonderful and more than abundant. Dessert! Both the creme brulee and cheesecake were great. But, it was the service that will live in our memories. What a great staff!

French Small Venue
What a lovely small place! From the yellow and navy french decor, to the exquisite service, it was an evening of pampered service. I had the coquilles st jacques, and my friend had the classic roti-poulet with frites. For me, every bite was heavenly. Quiet enough for conversation, a perfect location for dinner before walking to the National Tree!
12/6/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great view and outstanding service
Turned out to be a spectacular view of DC holiday lights and the national Christmas tree. The food is excellent but the service is what makes Cafe Du Parc special. We will be back.
