Great food, accommodating to group
Booked a table last minute for a group. We ended up collecting late, and had folks coming and going for various reasons. The staff was extremely accommodating through all of it, it was a non issue (ok, they weren't slammed and we were a later seating, but still, they were all very friendly and helpful). The food was great, we all liked what we had, from apps to dessert. I didn't know of this place at all, found it from searching open table; we went partially for loaction but food exceeded expectations, I'd go back.

After having lived in Spain I am usually disappointed by Spanish restaurants. This was certainly not the case with Solera. I knew there was something to this place when the tables around me were populated with Spaniards. The food was fresh and delicious. This is the real deal! I will certainly be back.

Everything about Solera was fantastic from the bread to the perfect fresh croquettes that melt in your mouth. The stuffed peppers were fresh and flavorful ,the only tapas that was not good was the calamari, it was cut iinto small pieces and was over fried and tasteless. The paellea was amazing and fresh and the beef filet delectable. We will certainly return.

Loved the tapas and paella.
Loved the tapas and paella. We ordered a variety of both and everyone shared. Everything was delicious.

Solera has had a long-time NYC presence and they used to have a Westchester location where I worked. The Westchester site closed about 6 years back but I wanted to revisit Solera NYC and I was not disappointed. Tapas was, as always, fresh and nice portions for the price. A great was to taste test and share. While my dining partner wasn't very adventurous the organic chicken breast she had and the filet I had were great...tender, moist and tasty. And the staff was friendly and accommodating, making some off-the-menu adjustments with no problem. And dessert was wonderful and, again, great dishes to share. I liked Solera before. I really loved this time.

Just as great years later...
I first discovered Solera five years ago, had a great experience. Went a second time earlier this week and it was just as good as I remembered. The staff was attentive, my hanger steak was ridiculously tasty, and the ambience was perfect. A great evening overrall.

Excellent Spanish restaurant
We have been in Spain and experienced amazing food.
Initially we were a bit weary, not knowing what to expect .
What a wonderful surprise! Solera is an authentic Spanish restaurant from the delicious tapas to the entrees full of flavor, to the delicate deserts.
The service was fast and friendly.
Cannot wait to go back.

Better than expected with well prepared and very nicely presented dishes. Very nice wine list with extensive, Spanish, wines by the glass.

I believe it's perfect for a reward for working hard.

I selected this restaurant for a business lunch as it was close to the subway and my client's office. My original intent was to order a lunch entree but when I saw the wide and very interesting variety of tapas, I opted to go that route instead and this was a wonderful and very surprising choice! The stuffed piquillo peppers were delightful; the grilled calamari so rich and soft, and the Spanish tortilla was very special with layered potatoes almost filled at an angle and quite a different and surprising taste.

Solera is one of the best Spanish restaurants in New York City. We been going there for years and have always had a satisfactory experience. Terrific menu, fine wines and attentive service. Tables are well placed.

Exceptional Spanish Cuisine
I hosted a business dinner meeting at Solera; we had several tapas and steak entrees. The food and service were exceptional, the ambience pleasant, though it did get a bit noisy as the evening progressed. The sangria was good though high in the alcohol content, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Elgant Spanish restaurant
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. When we got there, a kid's seat for our daughter was ready. Some restaurants do not take note of such message, even we notify them about our almost 3-year old daughter in advance. Everything tasted so genuine and tasty.

A great place on the east side
Perfect little place tucked away on E53rd Street. Quiet with a warm inviting atmosphere. Menu has a nice selection of tapas as well as full entrees. Wine list is perfect to accommodate items on the menu. A must try if you're in the area.

An Oldie that is still great!
Had not been here for at least five years and went to lunch on Wednesday. Great meals and very reasonable prices. A find for this area of the city which is filled with restaurants that are at least one or more of the following: noisy, expensive, large, impersonal, and only average food.
Solera was smaller, had great food , was quiiet enough that you could have a conversation about personal or business issues and has a certain charm that is lost in some of the larger restaurants in this area.

Very tasty Tapas for a group of six
We went to Solera for a late dinner last Friday night and had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helped guide us through the selection of tapas on the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. A must try is the sparking wine Sangria!

Much more than tapas
From beginning to end - a delightful dinner meal. From almonds and tapas - tasty seafood croquettas, spectacular piquillo peppers with goat cheese and ham; to a daily soft shell crab special, dessert and Spanish ports. A very good wine list. Knowledgable and solicitous service.

Dinner starts with olives a chick pea condiment and very nice bread. We had a selection of tapas and split an entre. The food and service was outstanding. We will definitely return.

This is a lovely Spanish restaurant. The food is very authentic as compared to what we had in Spain. I really appreciated that the servers were very attentive to my nut allergy and made sure I was aware of what food contained nuts. I find that in many places, the servers are a little too casual and don't pay enough attention throughout the meal. The menu has a wonderful selection of Spanish specialties including paella and fideua. The patatas bravas and gazpacho were excellent. Great find!

Thoroughly enjoyed Solera Restaurant & will happily return. It was vibrant enough to feel festive but quiet enough to enjoy conversing with dining companions. The food was tasty and the service impeccable. Our server, Fernando, was knowledgeable about the food & wine. He was also patient in providing info about dishes or ingredients with which we were not familiar.

Spanish gem continues the tradition
On a recent trip to NYC, we discovered that a family favorite for old world Spanish cuisine had closed. Thanks to Open Table, we found Solera and are so pleased we can't wait for another opportunity to eat there again.
The paella was a winner and went beautifully with the tempranillo our server had recommended. The dessert sampler was the perfect way to end an excellent meal.

Good Spanish food, nice ambiance
Solera was a nice Spanish restaurant between 2nd and 3rd avenues in east midtown. We walked past it several times and decided to make rez on a Monday nite. The food was authentic and tasty. Good cheese and cured meat selection. Relaxed atmosphere with a blend of families, business persons and tourists (like ourselves) with a pleasant ambiance. Plus we were treated and served as if we were locals. After some of the high end places we had ventured earlier on our stay, there was no sticker shock with the tab. We would return on our next trip and obviously recommend to others.
