A dolce time at AgroDolce
Im not a vegetarian but had the vegetarian tasting menu. It was very good. Ambience was great and front of house folks were knowledgeable and perfect in their attentiveness-not too much not too little. Highlights - sautéed broccoli, candied fennel, burrata, chickpea fritters.

Memorable dining experience
Very original dishes. Delicate, thoughtful flavor combinations. Pasta is made correctly and cooked properly. Limited menu, but what we chose was done well. Wine list is representative and not off-the-charts expensive. The noise level is high, due to many bright surfaces that are not off-set with softer materials. A single knock on the food offerings was the only bread offering was an in-house-made focaccia that you must pay for. The foccacia was spongy, dense, salty and had a soda aftertaste. Considering how good the other dishes were, they can do better on the bread. The staff was good, with the exception of the host. I will go back... again and again.

We've been twice. Each time
We've been twice. Each time had a great table, great service (accomodating beyond normal) and excellent food. Restaurant loud when full house, but conversation still possible without shouting. What I like most is the ambience and the fact that the tables are spaced well so one is not "cheek by jowl" as in many small restaurants. Would like to see another pasta dish on the menu.

Service was excellent. Food
Service was excellent. Food was very good. My only complaint would be: if you have morels in a pasta dish, I'd prefer to have 2 or 3 whole morels instead of 2 or 3 morels diced up into tiny pieces. It is quite expensive, borderline overpriced, but most of the dishes we tried were excellent.

Great food, great service
The food here is always good. The night we went was especially busy. Our appetizer took almost an hour to arrive. The server was very apologetic and attentive. He even comped our appetizer and drinks. It was a very gracious gesture and was much appreciated! We will be back!

A quiet but lovely meal
It was our anniversary and we were hoping it would be a little less hectic than it had been for Valentine's Day (when you expect it to be hectic). It was, in fact, one of their quietest days of the spring, not for any particular reason, but the person who seated us noted that they'd been pretty full all month to this point and had no explanation why it was so quiet. Service was unobtrusive and particularly attentive to refilling my glass. The food was superb, in particular the pasta (Maria Hines does something with peas that no one else ever does with peas, so whenever peas are on the menu we order them). And the flavor of the rhubarb gelato was like no rhubarb I've ever tasted, and simply delicious. A great meal.

Great cafe vibe with outdoor
Great cafe vibe with outdoor street seating in Fremont. Food is well-conceived and presented, with innovative combinations. The place looks great as well. Anxious to try dinner and cocktails.

Dinner was great from the Bitter Greens Salad to the Ravioli and Albacore Tuna. Preparation could not have been more perfect, presentation was beautiful. Rhubarb and Pistachio Gelato's were the best ever and the flavors came through loud and clear. We are looking forward to our next visit with friends from Virginia in August. We may just start rotating on a three night schedule between Tilth, Golden Beetle and Agrodolce. Service was outstanding and Jamie even recommended a wonderful Sicilian wine. Thank you, Maria and Jamie, for a memorable evening.

Organic Italian heaven
Teen athletes and foodie moms were delighted by our first trip to Maria Hines' latest home run. The girls were ravenous and scarfed down warm focaccia and arancini subtly teased with tarragon. They kept the carb-theme going with "the best pasta ever" while one mom chose from the carnivore side of the menu with a delectable lamb burger. (I know I'll be back soon, and will try the rabbit next time.) The location has gastronomic history - locals will know it as the old 34th St Bistro, or (before that) the dear departed Still Life. The service was charming - solicitous without being intrusive. Parking can be tough - plan ahead and carpool.

Interesting spin on Mediterranean
We had a delightful and delicious time at Agrodolce. The ravioli was exquisite with an original preparation as was the seared albacore. The waiter suggested the grilled broccoli as an accompaniment and it was brilliant as were the wine suggestions. The whole experience was outstanding.

Glad I Tried It
I had this restaurant on my "try soon" list and took the opportunity to schedule a welcome home dinner when my son moved to Fremont. I wasn't certain of my choice because our group had a variety of food preferences and needs. But it turned out that the menu offered something for everyone, even the 9 year old. The food was delicious if not as inspired as all the foodie hype tauted and I loved the simple and warm ambience. Service was a little slow but I think they were just being respectful of our group's desire for a leisurely dinner and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Wine prices were a bit high. A cozy curtained room off the bar was a great place to catch a happy hour drink and wait for our party. Good pick!

We Had a Nice Meal
It was 92 degrees outside so we decided to sit inside in the cool air conditioned space. My husband's app of cured pork loin with shaved fennel was great, my arancini stuffed with cheese severely underseasoned. I was not thinking straight and ordered ricotta ravioli in a green onion butter sauce which was almost a duplication of my appetizer! The Sardinian bucatini with anchovies and golden raisin was too sweet for my taste but the husband liked it. Steamed Theo's chocolate cake had intense flavor and the pistachio gelato with chantilly was excellent. Also excellent was the house made limoncello with a hint of white pepper that was as good as the best we drank in Italy! Server was not too friendly at first but warmed up over time.

Everything we had was delicious - rabbit marsala, lamb, homemade pasta, cannoli. Highly recommend.

The food was very good and a bit unusual. We had to get a few things interpreted, but the waitperson was very helpful.

This was our second visit
This was our second visit to Agrodolce. Both times the food was outstanding! We went early for the first visit and noise was not a problem. For the second visit we went later and, as more and more people arrived, the noise level rose making conversation somewhat difficult at times. Also, the dining room was a little warm on the second visit. We wished that we had requested an outside table. It would have been cooler and quieter.

Date Night Winner
I recently went to Agrodolce for a Friday night date with my boyfriend. The evening was a great success. The atmosphere and service were spot on. We both asked for wine recommendations and both loved what the server suggested. The food was delicious also, we agreed that our two favorites were the appetizer special (crostini with herbed goat cheese and zucchini salad) and the broccoli.

Nice little business lunch place
The menu isn't lengthy but if you are looking for a quaint lunch spot (simple yet upscale but not pretentious) that will impress a client and not blow your budget - this is is.

Dining with a friend
I chose Agrodolce because of the Fremont scene and I ate there during restaurant week and loved their selections. I sat outside this time and it was a little noisy (it sits on a route for buses and trucks) and was a little dismayed at the leaves falling on the table, but I really loved the selections. We each had the lamb burger (one gluten free - without the bun) and the grilled broccoli. EXCELLENT!! We were able to enjoy the setting for almost three hours!! All in all 5 stars

Great seasonal food made with careful detail in spicing make this a fun dining experience. Add to that a perfectly matched wine list and flawless device and you have a wonderful evening guaranteed.

The food was very good on the lunch menu. I will have to come back for dinner. Good wine list. Service was a bit slow even though we were not in a hurry...

Delicious food combinations
I went to Agrodolce for my birthday dinner with 4 others and had a great dinner; excellent service. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and wine; some had dietary restrictions and were easilly accommodated. Wonderful food combinations and a generous birthday dessert on the house. The only weak spot is the noise factor, really loud, acoustics not good, so hard to hear each other.
8/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice way to celebrate a birthday!
It was our second time at the restaurant and it was as good as the first...new additions to the menu without losing any of the items we loved the last time we were in town - the chickpea cake is so simple, but so yummy I'm hungry for it again already! There's a nice ambiance to the restaurant and happily, no large parties around this time - it can get a little loud with bigger tables "in the house"...then again, what restaurant wouldn't? This is a delightful stop and we look forward to enjoying the restaurant again the next time we visit Seattle!
8/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food great, nice building, ok svc
Everything at Agrodulce was great though the service could have been better. Though the waitresses were very nice, coffee service was slow, one of our orders didn't come out as requested, and our wobbly table was not fixed though we asked at the beginning of the meal. The staff was very nice, but only warrant an average rating. I will definitely come back, and will definitely recommend to others.
8/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not quite as good as the last visit
We are repeat customers who came with friends from Virginia. My primi was emmer rigatoni which was not at all spicy and had very little flavor (I would avoid it). Main course of dakota beef hangar steak was fantastic. My wife had the mixed baby lettuces and the hanger steak and she was very pleased with both. While our friends said they liked their choices of chilled almond soup, mixed baby lettuces, emmer rigatoni and cavatelli, they seemed less than impressed and were fairly quiet about the dinner, not finishing the main course pasta dishes.
We also do not understand the thought process where the restaurant puts bread dishes on the table then brings no bread unless you order and pay for it. Reminds me of the airlines and baggage charges.

Lovely Evening at Agrodolce
My wife and I both thought the tasting menu and wine pairing were terrific. The staff made the experience special.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent food and authenticity to the Sicilan table; not your run of the mill "Italian regional."
Great for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. The more unique dishes are very succesful.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
great for brunch
More interesting food than at the usual brunch, terrific space (it's the old 35th St. Bistro), good service.
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fun little spot
The service at this place is excellent--cheerful staff who are knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. Menu is the right size--limited options, but varied with intriguing combos. We ate outdoors which was understandably noisy due to the street, but it was a good day to be outside. Inside looks to be quite pleasant as well.

Wonderfully crafted meal with delicate blend of flavors.

Food was excellent. Portions were small. We were the only men in the entire place.

I love this restaurant
My husband and I went on a date to Agrodolce this past Friday. We started off with the focaccia bread/olive oil - which was warm and delicious. I had the rigatoni which I absolutely loved. It was light, despite the fact that there was sausage in it. My husband had the spaghetti with sugo (which he was raving about) and we split the seared broccoli (which was incredible). We loved the wine and dessert wine (both recommended by the waiter). The only slightly weak spot was the dessert - we had the cannoli which was 'okay'...had a little too much orange flavor for my taste.
But all-in-all, I think this is a top notch restaurant. We just recently moved to Fremont so I'm excited for it to become our new place! Highly recommended.

Every visit to Agrodolce has been an excellent experience. Excellent cuisine, service and an atmosphere of intimacy. We appreciate that we can invite guests to dinner without a concern about quality.

The ghosts are gone
Agrodulce has finally banished the ghosts and wonderful memories of Still Life in Fremont from this space. Perhaps because it was not that full we had our choice of table. Our server was attentive and engage. The food was really outstanding. The cavaletti with lobster mushrooms, seared broccoli and the black figs. But it wasn't until about an hour after leaving that it really hit me. Agrodulce was quiet! I had despaired of ever finding another quiet restaurant. I hope it wasn't due to the fact it wasn't busy. Only once was I aware of music. My ears didn't hurt. We talked as though at home. The food was great, but the highlight was the quiet.

Great brunch spot
Went with a few friends for lunch...honestly, I found this place by Googling "bottomless mimosas Seattle". The food was excellent - I had the lamb burger and it was absolutely delicious. Friends had the waffle, polenta, and soft boiled eggs...and they all raved about it. Will definitely be going back!

Was a wonderful evening with
Was a wonderful evening with my daughter. Each tried different things on the Restaurant Week menu, and every dish was a dinner. The pork was so tender, I could not believe how flavorful it was. The mussels were delicious, as were the sweet potato fritters. The cannoli was delicious. Thank you for the wine recommendation and a wonderful evening.
10/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
One of my favorite restaurants. I love everything Maria Hines does. Genius food, perfectly executed and the service is outstanding. Some of the best service in all of Seattle.
10/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Came here because of its location and of restaurant week. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was and how much care everyone at the restaurant put into making sure we enjoyed ourselves.

My new favorite Italian restaurant!
I've been here twice now and both times I was very impressed with the food and service! A little overpriced but very delicious! I will be coming back often!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Everything was truly FANTASTIC! The service was super friendly and the time between each course was perfectly timed. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for a special night with old friends. The food was mouth-watering delicious with every bite! My friend and I thought it was the best pork shoulder we had ever had and I cannot stop thinking about the limoncello sorbetto with candied lemon...scrumptious! I will be coming back soon!
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Large party was handled perfectly
We had a large group of 16 and our service was wonderful... the food was really good and will for sure be back.
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
Being a vegetarian, I'm often served ravioli at Italian restaurants; it's a dish that is easily made veggie friendly, and I've tried all kinds. The winter squash ravioli with hazelnuts I was served at Agrodolce was without a doubt among the top three raviolis I have ever had; fantastic flavors and wonderful texture! The roasted carrot soup was also incredibly flavorful. I would definitely go back to Agrodolce and warmly recommend this cozy Fremont gem.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Would go again.
This is the second MHR location we visited during Seattle Restaurant week. Our 7pm table was occupied so had a glass of wine in the lounge. At 7:35, our table was "still being enjoyed" by the diners before us. Waiting would have been more pleasant if wi-fi was available. Once we were seated, it was worth the wait. We were given a complimentary full-sized appetizer because of the wait. The pasta in the spaghetti was homemade but a little chewy for my taste. The ravioli was perfect. Dessert was a divine gingered poached apple. I just wanted more of that. This was our first visit and despite the wait, the wifi, and wanting better of one dish out of seven .... It was an excellent meal. Enough to make me want to return with friends.
10/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
Agrodolce is one of our favorite places. Southern-Italian inflected cuisine with local ingredients. Perfect combination. The Salty Sicilian is the go-to aperitif!
10/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Where is everybody?
My friend and I had a very pleasant and flavorful lunch--tasty carrot soup, a savory roasted broccoli and delicious rice fritter with a caramel sauce. However, we were the only guests in the restaurant! It was too quiet. Is this still an undiscovered neighborhood gem, or does the formula still need some adjustment?

Great for Birthday!
We had our son's birthday dinner here. Had never been to the restaurant before. Great service, fabulous food! So creative and different. Only one dish was less than expected and that was the Rigatoni. Presentation could have been better, although flavor was very good. Maybe alittle more energy for this dish. Had the Rabbit dish and it was excellent!!! All other dishes, and we had quite a few to share, were wonderful. All in all a great experience and we would definitely return.
11/9/2013 4:00:00 PM
Great little find
Prix fixe menu was inventive and great value! Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return again.
11/24/2013 4:00:00 PM
our highest recommendation
creative, unusual, interesting food and beverage menus. exquisite food. fresh ingredients, delicious flavor combinations, cooked to perfect texture.
after his first bite, my son said, "we're coming back."
11/25/2013 4:00:00 PM
We did the tasting menu and it was perfect. Each item was superb and the wine selection was a good match. The service was excellent and friendly.
We asked about a substitution and were told they no longer do that as the all the ingredients are meant to complement each other and substitutions can throw that balance off. Our request was based on ODing on a particular veggie recently but they were right, the combination of flavors including that veggie was outstanding.
And did I mention that the food is all organic and local?
