I've been twice now for brunch. I highly recommend la champ de mars, a savory smoked salmon crepe. I've also had the macarons, and the violet one is to die for. They were all good, but that was the best.

Mussels & Macaroons
Went on a romantic second date to Paris 66. The service was impeccable. Please ask for the sommelier for wine recommendations; that great fun. The people at the table behind me were speaking french the whole night. We plan to go there at least once-a-month. Oh, and a dozen macaroons on the way out the door is essential.
8/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
save room for the macaroons!
Very authentically French. Our very cute waitress was from France and recommended a superb wine from her region. All of the meals were flavorful and presented well. After dinner we were presented with a desert menu and a board with about 20 flavors of macaroons... Not the coconut type. They were heavenly puffs of flavor. So yummy!! Great night out!

Go directly from work
A place to go and relax right after work. Invite the person from the office that actually enjoy talking with. ALL the food is a home run! order small and sample, taste and imbibe and be home by 7:30 to let the dogs out.

Excellent dining experience
As young professionals the prices here were 'special occasion' dining for us, but worth every penny! The wine list was well put together, the food was delicious and the service excellent. Given the quality of the food I would have expected to pay just a little more for it. No complaints about that!

Lori and Frédéric Rongier
Lori and Frédéric Rongier (owners) are smart to have waiters and waitresses from France work for them. Besides their excellent chef and menu, a French/English speaking wait staff makes the restaurant authentic. Of particular note was Marie-Lise, a young 28-year-old from Bourges, who made our dining experience memorable, even for my wife who does not speak French. Fortunately, I was able to order and converse with her in French, which is a nice thing for a retired French teacher.
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
The service was attentive
The service was attentive and we had a very sweet young French waitress which added to the dining experience. The food was classic french bistro and very good. Overall the evening was fantastic

Superb French food, excllnt service
The best French food I have had in the US in a long time. Reason alone to come to Pittsburgh!
8/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food was great, service was
Food was great, service was good but it seemed that the wait staff needed another member.
8/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our group of four enjoyed the Restaurant Week Prix Fixe menu. Three had the delicious hanger steak selection. One was less convinced with the fish quinelle. I enjoy the classic Parisian packed in setting, assuming the next table knows how to speak in a civilized decibel level.
Some at our table had difficulty understanding the waiters thick French accent in the bistro level noise. At 60/ person including drinks, wine and tip it was all in all a lovely evening.

Once again your restaurant lives up to the occasion. It was a weekend of fun celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday and your place topped it off nicely. Brunch was awesome as expected and Rano was our server and he was fantastic ! Not only was he personable and attentive, he brought outt daughters macaroons with candles in them and showered her w balloons. Nice touch!! Sorry we missed you.
Sincerely an awesome place to eat!

Much needed French Cuisine
All three of my visits have been wonderful. Once on a date, once for lunch with an aunt, and once with my family on my birthday. True classic French cuisine. I attended French Culinary Institute in the mid '90s and can honestly judge that they are doing a great job staying true to techniques and presentation and portion size. Magnifique

A piece of heaven on earth!
The best dinner that we have had in the city. Between the food, the service and the ambiance there is no better. Every time we go it is like we are on vacation.

Don't Eat The Eggs!
In the past the food at paris 66 has been phenomenal, I love it there, I like going there, however Sunday Brunch, eggs provencal leave alot to be desired, they were runny, cold and just plain out vile. Everything else I had was fantastic, however the eggs were so bad it overshadowed how good everything else was. I WILL go back to Paris 66 however more than likely not for brunch.
9/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have been to this restaurant three times. Each time the food is perfect. The service isn't outstanding on weekends, but they are usually busy, so it's decent considering. My latest visit was on a Thursday, and my server was outstanding. I like this restaurant more than the others around it, so if you're looking for a place in the Shadyside/East Liberty area stop in here.

Usually very good.
One of the members of our party did have a problem with her entree. Her entree had shrimp with linguine. The shrimp had probably been properly cooked, but the linguini was HOT, HOT, HOT and continued cooking the shrimp so that they became overcooked and tough. We brought this to the attention of our waitress and she tried her best to correct the proble. , But we were told there were no more shrimp available. They offered to give her another entree, but we had already waited a long time for our original entrees and didn't want to wait again. The managment gave us a hard time about making a correction to the bill. This is the only time I have ever had a problem here. All other food was very good.
9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
the food was outstanding but
the food was outstanding but the noise level was terrible. our waitress was French and absolutely charming but was not regularly attentive. we plan to return soon and will try sitting outside in the hope that it is quieter.

A classy place for a special dinner
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Paris 66 and loved it. Kudos to the chef for creative, delicious offerings. It was our first time at Paris 66 but we'll be back. I've never been to Paris but my wife has been there twice and reports that the cuisine and ambience are quite authentic. We also had an excellent, knowledgable waiter.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
I always enjoy dining here.
I always enjoy dining here. The food is wonderful and the ambience relaxing. The service is attentive (overly so but in the typical US way) but also a little pretentious--I nevertheless appreciate the level of professionalism that they are working towards in their service, and overall it was a very pleasant evening.

Like a trip to Paris!
My mom and I came here for lunch a few days ago. I've been there before but she had not. She loved it! The décor makes it feel like you are in a café in Paris. The wine list is amazing and the Croque Madame was better than the one I actually had when I was in Paris. Bravo to the chef and pastry chef! We'll be back many more times! Don't be intimidated by the fact that it's a French restaurant. The servers are very friendly and happy to explain any items on the menu that are unfamiliar.

Great French Restaurant
I would imagine this is what a bistro in Paris would feel like. It certainly felt different than other restaurants I've been to in the area. The food was very good as was our French waitress. Be warned, however, if you expect a fast meal and dashing out for other places, this is not the restaurant for you. This is a place to savor the meal and good company as is the European way to have a meal. We sat on the back porch which was a nice, romantic spot if that's the ambience you're after, but I could see inside had a very different, more lively ambience. I think we might sit inside on our next visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back to try brunch as well as dinner. A nice find in Pittsburgh!

Best French Restaurant in Pittsburg
I am a bit of a foodie and visited Paris 66 last Friday. There were 4 in our party. We had a three hour experience that included appetizers, the cleanest mussels imaginable, wonderfully prepared foie gras and chicken liver salad. The main courses were excellent and delicious desserts. The wine menu is fairly extensive and the staff professional and friendly. I highly recommend Paris 66 and look forward to my next visit and hopefully will be able to stop for brunch.

Had an amazing brunch with my girlfriend here on Sunday morning around 10:00 am. We ordered the smoked salmon and spinach omelet, which had all the delicious ingredients baked into the egg, which is how I like my omelet. We also asked the chef to make us a Croque Madame, which is surprisingly not on the menu. It's basically a ham and cheese sandwhich baked with crispy brown cheese on top and topped with a fried egg. It was the best Croque Madame I have ever had. Cheers to the chef on that one. Both were served with a light salad with a delicious horseradish sauce. We split a pain au chocolat for dessert with coffee. Everything was wonderful! Merci Paris 66! You always outdo yourself!

Special Place for Special Guest
I wanted my guest from out of town. to feel special. So I took her to Paris 66. We experienced great food and an attentive wait staff.
It was lunch time. I ordered my usual ...a quiche. My friend ordered a beautifully presented spinach lasagna...generous portion! We shared a crepe with bananas, chocolate sauce, etc. for dessert.
My friend speaks French. She enjoyed her brief chat with our gracious waitress who also helped my friend with her luggage to our car! Wonderful afternoon...beginning with the ease of making online reservations to the final best wishes. I have been to Paris 66 before. It continues to please!

Paris in Pittsburgh
I've been to Paris several times, and this place rates high with anyplace I've eaten in Paris or elsewhere in France. The food is on point, seasonal and well prepared and served. The wine list is small but well matched with the menu. The last time I was there I had the roast lamb (specialite du jour) with pommes frites, seasonal vegetables. The starter was eggs poached in red wine - magificent. The lamb was tender and perfectly done. I finished with crepes with apricot. a wonderful meal start to finish. The kir royale and chardonnay paired well with everything. I always enjoy Paris 66!! And I don't have to travel to France for a wonderful French meal!

Great French Staff and Food
We had the most delightful French native waitress. Had a great dinner of authentic French bistro style food. Timing of service was perfect. A bit expensive, but worth it. Best liver and shallots I've ever had.
French style macaroons amazing, but not enough favors to choose from.
9/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
Excellent service in a quaint casual "bistro". Food was very good and the place was packed, testament to a good restaurant.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
So glad we gave this place a try. It was amazing-delicious and authentic. Our waiter was so nice and gave us his recommendations that were spot on. Will definitely be back!

We took my in laws and 20
We took my in laws and 20 month old son here for brunch. Service was timely, the coffee was excellent and we had a nice time. I like that they take reservations and open before 11 am.

A wonderful evening!
My husband and I were seated, and we had the most wonderful young, bright, sweet, lovely waitress, Marie Lies, who took very good care of us. We ordered a lovely Merlot ot start,. Mu husband ordered the Special entree of the evening, a beef stewed with dried fruits, and I ordered the Salmon. Both dishes were delicious. We had a salad Verte and an Arugula Salad, which was delicious and fresh, with that beautiful peppery taste. I ordered a Cappucino and my husband got decaf and the TartedeTain, whcoh was very good.
We enjoy coming th Paris 66 for the delicious food, lovely ambiance, and the service we receive.

Lovely dining experience!
Truly enjoyed Sunday brunch at this terrific restaurant. Crepes were delicious. Wish I could have sampled every single item on the menu, because every single plate that came by our table looked exquisite. Just saw that Paris 66 was voted best French restaurant in Pittsburgh (City Paper, October, 2013). Not sure what the other contenders were, but it would seem the accolade is well deserved.

Went to Paris 66 for a Sunday brunch and every aspect was phenomenal
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
A delightful evening. Many thanks for finding our party a quiet spot. Very thoughtful and much appreciated.
We had a relatively new server. He did a fine job, attentive but not over the top. Food was excellent and wine choices reasonable even if a bit pricey. Same for desserts. Still, a favorite for the East End. Will return soon for sure.

A true neighborhood gem!
Paris 66 was amazing on so many levels! The place itself was truly like being in France at any corner bistro. The wine list was incredible, and the food was second to none! My favorite part was that the servers were french, and we extremely pleasant. Talking to them with their accent truly set the tone of an evening in Paris. The prices we very reasonable, this place is very high on my recommendation list. I will be back, many times.

A Gem of a French Restaurant!
Just wanted to share a few notes about Paris66, the new to us French restaurant in Pittsburgh. We used to visit the French restaurant in the South Side, and we were sad when it closed. Our sadness is now joy because of the little gem called Paris66!
The food, the service, and the atmosphere made a special evening for us, as we were celebrating our anniversary last Saturday night. I know we will be back very soon! Please go and try this restaurant....you will not be disappointed!

A taste of Europe
Paris 66 has never let us down. It's always a pleasure to step away from the usual yinzer service provided in the area and immerse ourselves into a little bit of Europe.
Keep doing what you're doing because it's amazing...great service, great food, great ambiance...

Brunch before the opera
This was our 2nd time visit to Paris 66--the first some 3 or 4 years ago. This time for brunch before the Sunday Matinee at the opera, the last a lunch with friends and their two five year-old children. Both experiences memorable.
Paris 66 does very well what it sets out to do--provide the experience of a Parisian bistro. Well crafted, hearty, non-fussy fare dedicated to the memory of grand-mère. This recent brunch visit gave the four of us the chance to sample across the menu. Spinach and salmon omelette, two varieties of eggs Hollandaise, French toast with bananas. All were equally successful. Café au Lait served first in a small cup, and the second as requested in a larger bowl (perhaps later the full Parisian bowl, sans handle)!.

Former Paris-based expats pleased!
What a wonderful place! I never thought that I would find a place that could easily transport its patrons to Neuilly-sur-Seine. But Paris 66 proved me wrong. The cuisine was delicious, high quality, and very authentic. The atmosphere including the servers was divine. I highly recommend this restaurant and am eager to go back. My only regret is that this location is not close enough to our home for us to make it our new "go to" place.

Paris 66 a jewel for Pittsburgh!!!!
Going to Paris 66 transports me to Paris. A lovely bistro decorated tastefully and with so much charm. The chef puts out delicious meals and the staff is charming. Bravo Paris 66!

Charming ambience, excellent service, and delicious food...love it.

Nice French Bistro
Very nice French bistro style food. There are many restaurants like this in Wash DC and other large met areas, but not Pittsburgh. Probably a four star in any other city, five star in Pittsburgh because it holds a unique spot.
The restaurant was a bit noisy, not romantic, but not annoying. Portions for apps and entrees were very large for a French restaurant - especially the desserts.
The online menus was current, plus they had a three course $59 menu that we did not choose. The duck and salmon were bot very good, and cooked through (not always the case). The salads and apps were very good, especially the shrimp.

A Special Night in Paris
Went for the Beaujolais dinner special. Food and service were great. It was an expensive meal, but the portions were generous and the quality was first rate authentic French bistro fare. Will definitely pay another visit soon.
