Was here with 2 friends for
Was here with 2 friends for dinner prior to going to the theatre. We all enjoyed our entrees and my organic greens salad was just right. We were seated in the back room and the front and bar area was a bit noisy with the St. Pat's celebrants. My only disappointment was the glass of Chardonnay at $14. It had nothing to it. I wouldn't have it again for $2. That vineyard and year should be eliminated from their list. Nios is part of the Muse Hotel and in the theatre district so it's quite convenient.

Perfect for Pre-Concert Meal/Fun
First time at Nios, before the Leonard Cohen concert at Radio City. Got there on a Saturday before the Saturday night crowd but had an extremely pleasant experience in every way. Service was good to begin with but the Manager (Nick) made sure at every turn that things were proceeding to our (party of 3) satisfaction.
Food was good--a 3 course fixed price menu--but could have used a bit more quantity. Appetizer (Soup)/Entree/Dessert were tasty.
Can't quite give it a great except for service. I can say for sure we'd like to get back there some day.

A splendid time
We had a splendid time at NIOS. The food was very good. The service -- thanks to Victor, our exceptionally charming waiter -- was exceptional. As we had an 8pm reservation, the pre-theater crowd has left. So the restaurant was delightfully noise-free. (Not sure what it would be like when full...). We will go back!

The goto for pre- theater lunch
Always delicious and convenient. Had corn soup which was delicious and a club sandwich with a glass of wine.Power lunch for $25.00 and and added sorbet which we shared. Out in an hour and 15. Have been before and will go again.

My mom and I were in NYC for
My mom and I were in NYC for a getaway and had great meals leading up to Nios. We wanted something close to the hotel and found Nios, with pretty low expectations. We were really pleasantly surprised. I had a nice Rose and my mom had a great dirty martini. We sat at the bar; bartender was attentive. We had a flatbread, the turkey club and goat cheese and beet salad. We really, really enjoyed everything (I'm picky!). It was simple, tasty and nice portions.

Came here after the theatre
Came here after the theatre on Sunday with a friend. It's very quiet on Sunday at 5pm and it was Father's Day (not a day where families usually go out to eat like Mother's Day). Lovely modern interior and comfortable chairs. I had the organic green salad which was delicious and quite plentiful. Both of us had the chicken entree; very good and I loved the sauce. I had the gelato dessert (3 scoops -hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla); a big dessert, but I managed to eat it all! I had eaten here a months ago and enjoyed it then which is why I came here on Sunday. My friend asked for the restaurant's card so she would have the info to come here again with her other friends.

Royalty for hotel loyalists
The pre-fixe menu is vast and only has 1 item on the menu with an upcharge ($5 for lamb dinner). I cannot remember the last time I DID NOT ASK FOR HOT SAUCE... but the food did not need extra spice at all. Flavors were well balanced and definitely on par to restaurants offering table-cloth service.
Here's a tip for hotel guests trying to economize: arrive early for hotel wine hour (gratuit) at the lobby and segue into your dinner reservations. InTouch members (Kimpton Hotel loyalty program) get special treatment for July 2013.

My hubby and I enjoyed a few late night bites at Nios, really great! The service and food was really enjoyable.
We went for a several course dinner while in the Theatre District and had the best meal while we were in NYC!
The food was outstanding and the service was over the top! We will make sure to go there a few times next time
we are in NYC!

Different and Delicious
I had theatre tickets and dreaded the usual fare offered by most restaurants surrounding the theatre district. After pouring through endless menus on line, I came upon Nios' menu. Perfect, I thought and it was. Nios offers a great selection of deliciously different dishes to choose from. The prefix menu was a great deal!

Great Price Fixed Dinner
The three course dinner had many choices in each category -- actually too many to pick from. Will need to go back so we can try two more choices. Good size portions that were beautifully presented. Interesting bread. Knowledgable wait staff who made great wine pairings (at a reasonable price). Very enjoyable dinner.

The appetizers were amazingly
The appetizers were amazingly good--we had the occtapus salad and the tuna, the main course offered basic choices of which we had the wild salmon and the steak...both very good but I will note the vegetables that came with the dishes were way better than average.

Nice suprise in Theater District!
The pre-fixe menu was wonderful and offered a variety of selections. The resturant is small but felt spacious because it was not over crowded with too many tables. My husband and I are always looking for great places in the Theater District that arent so touristy and this is a great find! Most of all the service was outstanding. Nick, the restaurant manager, went out of his way to make sure our evening was special. This would be a great spot for a casual after work drink (non happy hour crowd), dinner with a special someone or friends.
Our favorites were the Baby Octopus appetizer, the Black Bass, and the Lamb Chops.. Also the table next to us had salmon that looked and smelled amazing!!

Another Kimpton Hotel Gem
Went here for Kimpton Hotel's restaurant month while in New York. The location is only about a block off of Times Square. The lamb was to die for and the hospitality provided by Nick was 5 Star. I will go back next time in New York

Terrific before a matinee
My friends and I had a matinee that Wednesday and we chose new restaurant. It was empty except for us. It seems to us it would be terrific after work with a great bar scene, but at 12 PM we were the only customers. I had a great burger, my friend had a salad and my other friend had a pizza. All were terrific. The service was wonderful and the prices were very good. I would definitely go there again and recommend to anyone that wants a great deal with great food.

Convenient to Theaters
We enjoyed our dinner at Nios very much! The food was very good, and even better, it is in the heart of NYC's theater district.

Great dinning Experience
My wife and I had a great time. Food was impeccable and the ambience was great. Not too formal and the fact that no one smoked made it comfortable. Would recommend to every and all I know.

We went to NIOS because we had a special from Kimpton InTouch--NIOS is in the Kimpton Muse Hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. Every course was very good and the sea bass risotto was excellent with the fish perfectly cook. The restaurant manager was wonderful and very attentive. The waiter was not which was surprising given that the restaurant was not very full. We would definitely return.
7/27/2013 5:00:00 PM
Great theater district find! The food was wonderful. We had the three course prix fixe dinner. Everything we had was prepared perfectly. The lamb chops were the best I have ever had.
7/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at NIOS before going to the show. The service and the food were excellent, the food selection was great. We would definitely go back to NIOS when we go back to NYC.

Manager's personal attention
Pre theatre dinner - 5:30PM
When I noticed a discrepancy between the website menu and the actual menu, one of the Manager's (Nick) came over, introduced himself, apologized for the discrepancy and made it right, coming back several times to make sure everything was going well.
We had the Prix Fixe menu which had a good variety in each category. Execution was splendid in presentation, taste and portions. We also noticed other tables ordering from the "small bites" menu and those looked great also. We will likely return to sample those next time.

Great Birthday Dinner
It was an early dinner before going to see the Lion King. It was a great location from the theater. Service was great, good wine list and the food was really good.
8/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pre-theater large Group
We went to NIOS with eleven people for a pre-theater dinner. It was one of the few restaurants in the theater district that would take a reservation, which I thought I needed with so many people. They gave us our own room, which was very pleasant and quiet. They seated us as we arrived, which was important, because inevitably someone is late and the rest of us needed to order or we would miss the curtain. Great food. Attentive service. Nice ambiance.

NOIS is a small mid-town gem.
NOIS is a small gem. They offer a small plate menu and a theatre menu. I ordered the roasted corn chowder, bass (amazing) over risotto and their house specialty bread pudding. The restaurant is small and tasteful. Although they have a nice happy hour business the noise level was acceptable and we had an excellent time!
9/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Pre theater dinner
Great place for dinner, pre theater especially, or light meal; and great for meal after the theater. Service is pleasant and efficient. The place is not over crowded either.
9/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
VERY GOOD PRE THEATER DINNER
WE DINED AT NIOS PRIOR TO GOING TO THE THEATER. THE MENU WAS VARIED AND WE LOVED THE CHOICE OF NUMEROUS "SMALL PLATES" THE SALADS WERE DELICIOUS AND OUR SMALL PLATES WERE VERY TASTY AND THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AS A MODERATELY PRICED PRE THEATER DINNER.
9/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Dinner for two
We ate here on a Friday night before going to Radio City. It was very noisy as there were a lot of wine drinking people in the lobby. Too bad their is not a way to close the restaurant off from that space. As for the food, it was very good. The menu is ala carte or price fixed at $48. So we had the price fixed. I had a glass of wine ($16) and my hubby had an iced tea with no refill offered($6). This was over priced for drinks. The appetizers of the green salad w/ beets was very good as was my first experience with pork belly. The main dishes of lamb( $8 supplement) and spinach ravioli were very tasty. The desserts of a fruit tart and bread pudding were also very good. I felt the meal was a good( not great) value ,drinks over priced.

Went in between the broadway
Went in between the broadway crowds so it was pretty empty. Hadn't realize that Nios seems to be more of a bar and nightclub? Than restaurant. They already had a dj playing at 815pm. The bar seemed cool enough but it wasn't a great dinner experience in terms of noise and ambience. The saving grace was that the food was very good and above expectations.
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Theater district gem
NIOS offers a welcome change from noisy larger restaurants in the theater district. The menu is somewhat limited with 6 or more entree selections, but the food is delicious and prepared to your taste. You can choose a pre-theater menu from the regular menu, there is not one specifically for that purpose, Decor and ambiance are sophisticated and the noise level is very moderate. A very nice experience

Great Location, Food and Service
Well situated entrance off the lobby of Muse Hotel on W. 46th St. Prix-Fixe 3 course dinner exceptionally prepared and varied choices offered. Delicious and complementary dressings to appetizers, wellmade and thought out accompaniments to entrees and enhancing toppings to desserts--best bread pudding ever!

I thought the food was wonderful.
I thought the food was wonderful. The dining area is small and is really part of the hotel MUSE. I don't think they have much business off the streets. This is ashame it is well worth the experience.

Night at Nios
Dining here is very good, but we enjoyed the bar even more.
10/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
I was staying at the Muse Hotel, and was too tired to make it out to another restaurant. I went to the restaurant in the lobby expecting to be disappointed, but was overjoyed when I found NIOS. This place is fantastic. And with all of the good restaurants in The City, I will return it this one.

Buried in The Muse hotel
We stayed at the Muse 6 years ago and ate at NIOS once, which we liked well enough. Not at the Muse this trip. Since then completely remodeled and new menu. Food was outstanding. Nice size portions. Party of six, we were seated in the rear room, away form the bar, so fairly quite. Great service. Delightful food. Reasonalble prices. Told the waiter we had an 8:00 pm curtain and he moved things along.

A Gem in the Theatre District!!!
A welcome addition to the mostly touristy restaurants in the theatre district, Nios was fantastic!! Beautifully designed interior, an excellent Menu, good service and absolutely delicious food!! Can't wait to return.....I highly recommend a visit to this delightful & chic new Bar and Restaurant.

Great Pre theater find
The seafood appetizer was outstanding. Te salmon entree as well as the risotto were equally excellent. We were all pleasantly surprised at this great find so close to all the broadway theater. We will definitely return to sample the rest of the menu.

The food is exceptional here.
The food is exceptional here. Service was superb. Would definitely eat at this restaurant again, even if I don't stay at the Muse.

High Quality - One of My Favorites
I love bringing friends to Nios, especially if it their first time. Our group was split on Saturday evening: four newbies, and three former customers. The table was not one long table for the seven of us - it was set up as a square so we could all speak with each other.
The prefixe menu was wonderful and there was something for everyone, no matter what their dietary needs.
EVERYONE was happy with everything. Our beverage glasses were always filled, and the waiters were knowledgeable about every detail on the menu. All of our meals were heavenly - no one had any leftovers! We all loved our appetizers, entrees, and the desserts.
I look forward to returning again and again.

Excellent Restaurant in Our Hotel!
The Scene: Visting New York City, staying at the Muse Hotel on 46th Street; 6pm; Raining; Had show tix for a theater on 45th Street; Pressed for time; Hotel has a restaurant called "Nios"; Hotel restauarant? Did I mention we wre pressed for time and it wa raining? So we tried Nios - the service was prompt and the food was excellent - I mean excellent; We had eaten dinner the previous two evenings in two of the best, most expensive restaurants the City has to offer. The food at Nios was just as tasty and carefully prepared as we had been treated to the two previous evenings (at, I may add about one-third of the cost). Way to go, Nios!
