Best ATL sushi
If there is a better sushi spot in ATL, I don't know about it. This place is authentic. The service is always superb and you feel welcome and well taken care of. However, it is the sushi that brings us back again and again. The rolls are always the freshest, with the perfect ratio of rice (perfectly cooked rice) and other ingredients. They don't pack on the rice like most Americanized sushi joints, and they don't complicate the rolls. Perfect every time.

Fantastic fresh fish, many
Fantastic fresh fish, many of which I have not encountered at any other Atlanta sushi bar. Decent sake selection as well. Try to plan a special Omikase dinner in advance if
possible- you won't be disappointed.

The sushi is amazing and the
The sushi is amazing and the waitress was very accommodating and helpful as it was our first time there. We got a variety of sushi that the waitress advised us on and it was the best that I had ever experienced. The saki is first rate as well.

Great Sushi in Buckhead
We took a chance on Taka for a dinner out while on vacation in Buckhead. It is pretty centrally located and easier to find than most places we went to during the week.
The staff was extremely friendly and polite. They had added some Masters gear to the walls for the week which was fun for us as we were attending the tournament. The atmosphere was really nice as well. Very appropriate for a later dinner with your significant other.
The food was really delicious. We aren't hard core sushi eaters, but the rolls that we had were extremely tasty and the fish was super fresh. They also make the portions perfectly sized, so you're not trying to cram a gigantic roll in your mouth with every bite.
We loved it.

adventurous sushi, great service
Amazing and exotic sushi nestled in Buckhead, just off Pharr Road. Not fancy, and not traditional by any means but unique and compelling just the same. The patio is fantastic. The service is native and unobtrusive. Many crazy fish options available no where else in the city and flown in LIVE from Japan. If you like filling out a hand menu and ordering California rolls, this place is NOT for you. But if you like adventurous sushi in a relaxed, authentic atmosphere, Taka is the place

One of the top sushi spots
Taka joins Tomo and Hayakawa at the top of the list for Japanese cuisine in this area. Contact him ahead of time to arrange a fabulous omikase dinner. He will bring in some hard to find fish from Tokyo- you wil not be disappointed. Respectable wine list for such a small place, too, with at least six junmai daigingo level sake selections.

Fresh Food Attentive Service
We found Taka on Open Table. We were staying at the Ritz and they recommended another sushi place the last time we were in Atlanta. Thankfully that place was booked! We went on Open Table and found Taka. Needless to say, we won't be going back to the other place in the future. The service was wonderful - very attentive, warm and friendly. The sushi was GREAT! It was fresh and it was served very quickly. Thank you for the recommendation!

Loved the food. Flat out these guys know their craft. The place is a bit small and the tables are on top of one another. It was also FREEZING in there too, but that isn't a big deal to people. Great meal!

My Wife and I recently dinned at Taka Sushi, and the food was excellent. It was some of the best sushi I have ever had, and the service was very good also. The servers were very attentive, and we did not ever run out of anything we needed. It was obvious that the sushi was very fresh, and the chefs really knew what they were doing. The host was very friendly as well. The restaurant is small and intimate on the inside, with additional outside seating. we had a very positive experience, and we will definitely dine there again next time we visit Atlanta.

Yum! New favorite sushi restaurant
Wonderful sushi. The fish is incredibly fresh and well-prepared and there are types that are not available in the majority of local sushi restaurants. Ambience is fine, but nothing special, but we were there for the fish.

I love Taka Sushi. Taka does a great job both sourcing great fish and providing inventive twists to Sushi. Trust me...you will love it.

We had a wonderful Omakase (chef's choice) meal that really showed off the talent of the kitchen. Service was outstanding. We were fortunate to be able to sit outside on a wonderful late summer evening.

It was my first time visiting this place but the food was amazing!!!

the place is simple and unpretentious, but the sushi is fantastic. Taka is my "go to" sushi place - I don't know of a better place within 5-10 miles.

Taka never disappoints. The first time I went there years ago, I was disappointed when they were out of some of the most basic sashimi (tuna, salmon, yellowtail). Taka himself came out to apologize saying the fish delivery was rejected because it did not meet their standards. Hmm, not a bad thing especially when dealing with raw food. We ended up getting a bunch of stuff we normally would not have, and it was delicious. We have been coming back ever since. Be sure to ask about the specials that night as well. Enjoy!

Delicious Sushi ITP
I was pleasantly surprised by this Buckhead spot. Creative menu, patient servers, and they can make any of the rolls wrapped in cucumber (no rice)!

Best sushi in Atlanta
The quality of fish outstanding and the Japanese people eat here. Enough said. Pricier than most sushi places but hey, ya get what you pay for.

Great sushi. Perfectly sized. Fresh, yummy. I would eat there every day.

Great Quality Sushi.....
Been in Atlanta for six months and tried a few sushi restaurants that quite frankly have left much to be desired in terms of quality of the food. Taka serves excellent cuts of fish all around. I'm a nigiri and sashimi lover had the Hamachi, toro, salmon, cobia and more and I was truly impressed with the cuts and quality of the fish. Not a loud or great bar scene restaurant, go there for the food.

Night at Taka
Taka is solid. Good flavors, good service, and really decent sushi at a decent price. We had a lovely evening--stand outs were tuna tartare, a special roll that consisted of spicy tuna and shiso leaf on top (yum!) and the udon noodle soup. For a Japanese spot, they also have a good dessert selection. Green tea mocha was tasty, as was the tempura pound cake--it was like a spice cake--with vanilla ice cream.

Best sushi I've had in a while
This was truly some amazingly good sushi. I've yet to have the ATL fish markets to compare it too but it was really very good. Quite a few Japanese businessmen where there. My only complaint was the sizes of the rolls just felt slightly small in comparison to the price paid which did fell a little high.

Some of the best sushi I've
Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Great atmosphere - quaint and private.

It's been there for years
I had driven past Taka Sushi on Pharr Rd. for years but never dined there till last week. The sushi was nothing short of sublime.
The atmosphere was very down to earth, like a neighborhood sushi ya in Tokyo and because of its authenticity, seems to attract Japanese customers, we will definitely be dining there again.

Top flight nigiri
Though we know that Taka offers a terrific menu of specials and entrees, my wife and I can never pry ourselves away from his fantastic nigiri. Fantastic quality, expertly prepared. Usually (always?) has special fish imported from the famous fish market in Tokyo, the name of which I can't recall at the moment. Regardless, always great quality and a strong sake selection as well. Highly recommend.
Small dining room with a casual feel, even though it's very well decorated and suitable for a special occasion. They also have an outdoor dining area, though we've only eaten inside.
