First Time Customer - Will Return!
The food is AMAZING. We used a groupon and were limited to the price fix menu but it was great value. I definitely plan on going back to try more because now I know it's worth the cost. Pretty quiet, but it lets people enjoy their food. I'm definitely a happy customer!

We've been going to Le Sanglier
We've been going to Le Sanglier for years. My filet mignon was perfect as was the bouillabaisse. My only complaint is the side veggies are a bit tired.

Traditional French food bistro
Traditional French food bistro food well prepared, outstanding salmon in sorrel sauce a real stand out! The rest of our group had either Filet mignon or seafood with pastry crust and everyone was very pleased. The only somewhat negative comment was about the moules appetizer, that they were a little chewy. Escargots were tender and garlicky. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

A little bit of France in Tarzana
The food was exquisite! Great neighborhood find, but makes you feel you have been transported to France. The service was outstanding. We will definitely be going back.

My wife found a great deal at this restaurant through Groupon. We went on 4/27. What a surprise. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and we had a great evening. We will be back.

Contrary to not very flattering reviews I've read about the restaurant, Le Sanglier lived up to our expectations of "fine dining". The service was great, the food was very good ( my husband, son and I cleaned our plates) and quite fast, waiters were polite and courteous, best of all the owner was welcoming and accommodating! Would highly recommend to friends and family!

Excellent French Restaurant
We have been going to Le Sanglier for many years. It continues to maintain the excellent quality of a fine Parisian restaurant. The chocolate souffle is the best we have ever had.

Nice neighborhood French restaurant
Food was good. A little too rich for me (after all it was French), but everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and cleaned their plates. One loved the salmon dish, one loved the duck dish and the other the filet of sole. I had the veal tenderloins which melted in my mouth; next time I will ask for the sauce on the side. They certainly don't rush you. We had to ask for the bill after about 15 or 20 minutes when we were done. Love the ambience of this restaurant. It is nice to have a romantic and good restaurant in my neighborhood. It is a special occasion restaurant for us as it is a little pricey and rich.

This was our first time to this neighborhood gem after driving by it for years. It was a treat. The food was great and the service was delightful! Short of the ignorant lady in the next booth that decided to call her mom in the middle of dinner to wish her well on "tomorrow's event" (clearly her parents had hearing issues, unfortunately I don't) it was a great evening. Carrot Ginger soup was delicious. Beet and Bean salad was tasty. The pork tenderloin was served with a sauce that was scrumptious. Everything topped off with Apple Tartin which was yummy! Gotta hand it to the owner/ maitre'd/ sommelier/ host and whatever other hats the guy wears, this place is a find.

Beautiful dining room followed by a most gracious owner and an excellent serving staff.
The food was creative and delicious, creative such as the cold carrot ginger soup and delicious such as the breaded pork cutlet. This restaurant will turn out to be a go to place.

My wife and I now have a new favorite restaurant: it is Le Sanglier. Restaurants like these are few and far in-between these days. This French restaurant was magnifique. I started with escargot and my wife with garlic scampi. I had the wild boar (cotes de sanglier) for dinner and my wife had the Lake Superior whitefish. Next time I shall have the venison. Our desserts were cherries jubilee and crepes suzette, prepared at our table by an artisan. The owner greeted us personally and said good-bye to us. As I told him when we left after a leisurely two-hour meal, "Merci, merci beaucoup! This is au revoir, not adieu. We shall be back soon." Highly, highly recommended for food, atmosphere, service, and environment.

I went here for my wedding anniversary, the food was very nice, wine was delicious and the owner was charming, I understand why this place is still in business after 40 years. It was my first time and I will for sure go back and bring friends. Dessert is huge, I will not order one for myself again, better to share.

Great food and great service
We had never been before so we were pleasantly surprised by how authentically French the food was.
The Bass just melted in your mouth, the desserts were the finest.

Tonight I had the venison and my wife had the chicken breast with balsamic vinegar sauce. In the past I had the wild boar and my wife has had Lake Superior white fish with horseradish. We began our meal with vichyssoise and escargot. Dessert was cherries jubilee and crepes suzette prepared by an artisan at our table. Magnificent dining experience. We shall return soon for the duck and the bouillabaisse. Au revoir, ne pas adieu!

Parking is not ideal-celebrated our anniversary on a Tuesday evening. Once inside the petit restaurant we were greeted by a large menu board listing the specials that evening. The staff was attentive, sat us promptly. My wife dined on scallops with cinnamon and cherries/ the sea bass in saffron sauce while I enjoyed the french onion soup[ immensely-best i've ever had] and the rack of lamb. Both our entrees were perfection. we both ordered desserts: she the chocolate souffle and I the cherries jubilee, hers-memorable/ mine-forgettable - the preparer forgot the butter and sugar to create the sauce and the rum was not completely cooked off. Nevertheless the whole experience was delightful- a quiet romantic evening without kids -memorable!

Our third visit for a dining experience. I had the duck and my wife the scallops. We also ordered a bottle of champagne with dinner. Our appetizers were escargot and scampi. Another delicious meal. Next time, I shall have either the veal or the calf liver. The bread is unassumingly delicious. I love it served warm and with butter. Our meal was magnifique. Bon appetite!

My wife and I celebrated her birthday this past Sunday at our favorite French restaurant, Le Sanglier. She had the autumn pumpkin squash soup and I had French onion soup along with a shared plate of seared scallops with cherry confit. For dinner, she had veal; it was magnificent. I had braised beef cheek. Very tender and very beefy. For dessert, we shared cherries jubilee and Grand Marnier soufflé. The house served complementary sherry for her birthday. The night was magical. Thank you, monsieurs. I learned that, if I call ahead, Le Sanglier can prepare sweet breads for me. I have been looking all over for sweet breads and now I have found them. Le Sanglier accomodates the gourmet and connoisseur. Merci beaucoup, Le Sanglier.

Still going strong
First went to this restaurant about 30 years ago. It was great then and it is still great. The same owner has been there since we first ate there and he has been at the restaurant every time we've eaten there. Food Is consistently good. Food preparation is not overly fancy for a french restaurant, nor is the food hidden by cloying sauces. Vegetables are outstanding.

Our fifth visit was tremendous. I had special ordered sweet breads one week in advance, and La Sanglier accommodated me. My wife and I started with vichyssoise, then garlic shrimp and escargot appetizers. My wife had sautéed halibut and I, of course, had the sweet breads. For dessert, we had Cherries Jubilee and Grand Marnier Souffle, which is fast becoming our favorite dessert. The meal was leisurely and the services was top notch. I cannot wait until our sixth visit when I shall have either calf's liver or veal. Bon appetite!

OMG that was good!
Amazing food, nice ambiance. We got there early and had the place almost to ourselves. Baked brie and fruit, lamb shanks, chicken in balsamic sauce and crepe Suzette prepared table side. Everything was first-rate.
