Cute decor. Old train station
Cute decor. Old train station renovated into a restaurant. Good food. I had a pizza with buffalo mozzarella cheese and spicy sausage. It was great. Service was great. it's a little bit walk from 137th st but, I would def. visit again.

Best Restaurant in Manhattan
This is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. It is in its own category of place, and ambience. For almost any occasion it is a wonderful treat with great food that never disappoints and for eithe rintimate or gorup dining it is always a great experience. It is a little hard to find if you do not know the area, which makes it even more interesting.
A great walk after your meal is a journey into one of the most fascinating parts of Manhattan - the heart of Harlem. There are few places in Manhattan where you feel you have arrived at the most trustworthy and elegant and gorgeous (unadorned) village restaurants. You will always be taken care of!

Excellent food and good service
Excellent food and good service (except my CC was exhanged with that of another costumer by the waiter: I hope this mistake is exception!).
Too much noise but spend a nice diner anyway

Great Food in an Unexpected Setting
Most people do not think of good dining spots under the trestle of the Westside Highway on 12th Avenue, but Covo is one.
It is a bit tucked away, but worth the trip. The food is good, pizzas and other Italian dishes. The specials were great, good home cooking, very nice ambience. Great wine selection.

The pizza with spinach, mushroom, and ricotta salata was delicious. Great place to take a vegetarian as there are a lot of options, pizzas, salads, vegetable side dishes like sautéed broccoli rave and the vegetarian, which were outstanding.

Perfect for any occasion!
Love Covo more and more every time I go - great for date night, great for families, great for group of friends - just plain great...and the pasta is TO. DIE.

The food was very good and
The food was very good and the service excellent. Our waitress overheard us wishing our friend a happy birthday, and she brought his cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to him without our having to ask. The noise level was pretty loud, but we were luckily in a corner.

Something To Crow About
Covo was at first hard to find! It's nestled on 12th Avenue, below the end of 135th St., but once you descend from the terrace of Riverside Park above, it's right there at the bottom of the stone stairs, tucked right under the bridge. This is one of the most inviting, warm, and interesting places I have eaten. It is attended by efficient and very friendly staff -- who really watch out for you, but don't hover. The fare is excellent, with a wide range of real but simple Italian dishes and extraordinary pizza. Desserts were perfect. The space is very large, and includes another upper floor. It's rooster motif is peppered throughout; it's large wood tables, casks, and chandeliers perfectly compliment to the ambiance and energy of the room.

worth the trip
Covo is off the beaten path in Harlem, all the way over by the west side highway on Riverside Drive. It's in a funky warehouse type space that has tables that are fairly spread apart and a nice bar upstairs. It's noisy, but not where you can't hear others at your table. the food is very good. I had the mussels this past weekend and they were really yummy. The pizza is very crusty and they make good cocktails too. We went back two weekends in a row. I'd recommend it.

HITTING ON ALL CYLINDERS BUT ONE
The food is fantastic; the service is unsurpassed. Only one complaint: Please get yourselves up to an "A" rating from the Health Department! I was somewhat perturbed to get to the restaurant and find that it only rated a "B" - especially since about half of all restaurants in NYC now rate an "A" and I was arriving with guests whom I'd invited out.
Get that fixed and you're a 10 out of 10!

Our Second Experience At Covo...
Covo is a GEM! We have gone here twice now before events that we were attending in NYC. The food, service and ambiance are outstanding. We love the atmosphere and being able to chose al fresco or in-house dining. It's a great pizza/salad/wine/beer place that we will always consider when we want to eat before an event.
The prices are VERY reasonable too. Easy parking access in front.
A true GEM!

Good Solid Italian
We recently discovered this solid Italian restaurant. The food varies from good to very good. We never visit without ordering the grilled vegetables, which is consistently excellent. For those of you who like a little more than a glass of wine with dinner, they have a quartino - which is perfect for me & saves the wait staff a trip. Tucked away under Riverside Drive, outside dining is relaxing & pleasant. Parking around the restaurant is easy, which adds to the overall satisfying & pleasant experience.

Great neighborhood restaurant if you're looking for something low key and reasonably priced.

We celebrated a 10 party reservation for a birthday at Covo. The location was great, away from busy traffic, the windows were all open to look out on the evening and quiet street. Reservations were easy to make online and confirmed by phone call. Service was good, food was delicious, atmosphere cozy but not crowded, diverse and comfortable still for an ntimate conversation or group conversations.

You could be in Rome
We've been fans of Covo since shortly after it opened. The outdoor space on a cul-de-sac wedged between Riverside Drive and the West Side Highway seems an unlikely dining spot but it turns out to be quite wonderful; it is removed from traffic and secluded from the rest of the neighborhood. It has some of the ambience of a Roman trattoria (in summer of course). Inside, the place can be somewhat noisy. The food is well prepared and service is rapid, friendly, and attentive. We shared an appetizer of burrata with roasted tomatoes and beets, a small pizza, and an order of baccala Livornese--all very tasty. Wine prices are reasonable. The crowd was the usual very diverse mix from Harlem and Morningside Heights.

Delightful restaurant hidden behind a steep parapet at the edge of Manhattan. Thoughtfully prepared food served by helpful and friendly waitstaff. The setting is dramatic and cozy at the same time. We ate outside on a beautiful evening but the spacious dining room looks inviting too.

What a Find and Delicious Sangria
Great spot to take a date on a Sunday night when it's quiet. The space has a great vibe to it.

Excellent as usual
Had brunch at Covo on Sunday. As usual, very good food, friendly attentive service. Can be a bit noisy because of the acoustics. A real neighborhood gem.

Great special occasion restaurant
Unlike all the other options we looked at N of 125th street, Covo takes reservations which was a must for us on Sunday. Food and service were terrific. Looking forward to going back.

Worth the search
A little hard to find, but worth it. Great value (see what happens when you leave the upper east side) and the food is excellent, with terrific choices.

Another Wonderful Dining Experience
Covo is a near hidden gem at 135th Street and 12th Avenue. The food is excellent and always consistent. A great place for lunch or dinner for two people or a large group. Initially discovered because I work in the area but it is now the place i bring out of town visitors and family for dinner.
