The sweet corn soup was to
The sweet corn soup was to die for - sweet and deeply flavored, smooth and absolutely delicious. The early bird 3 course special was a great value. Steak was cooked perfectly, onion strings were crispy with not a trace of oli and summer beans cooked al dente. Creme brulee was very good.

My mom and I and my two kids had a great dinner at sunset at Moonraker. I checked the kid friendly box as the restaurant did have a few menu options for kids, but it's really more of a high end restaurant experience and some kids like that, but a lot of kids would probably not. The view is just amazing. You can relax and watch the waves and the people walking down the beach path with their dogs. It's just a lovely environment. There are so few nice restaurants in the bay area with this type of ocean front dining experience, Moonraker is quiet a gem. We've been several times now and will be back for more!

Nice food and spectacular view
We have small kids so we went early. It was a bit hot because sun was streaming through the windows, but it was quiet and the waiter was very accommodating bringing bread quickly for the children and juice. Our entrees were great, hailbut and the squid pasta arrabiata were both very nicely prepared. Their sourdough rolls are right out of the oven. The cocktails were nice. Even the non-alcoholic ones were interestingly flavored. They could have checked on us a bit more considering the restaurant was mostly empty, but overall it was a good dining experience!

Most romantic scenic views.
Most romantic scenic views. Staff is outstanding! Perfect portion size. View, view , view

The only complaint I have
The only complaint I have about Moonraker is that the service has been unbearably slow every time we've eaten there. It took nearly 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and our water was often nowhere to be found. Otherwise, the food was fabulous. It was my first time ordering the calamari and they were tender and flavorful. Seasonal corn soup was delicious, and the grilled peach appetizer was fabulous.

Little things can mean a lot
We sat at a booth on the upper level of what is kind of like "stadium" seating" for the view of the ocean - which is a spectacular one! Sadly, the screen type blinds were lowered, so we could only see some of the view. We asked our server if they could raise the blinds, but he adamantly said they "do not raise them until sunset because the windows are single pane, and the incoming sunlight makes it hot." Fortunately, a nice couple (seemed like regulars) sitting the level below us pushed back with him and asked him to raise the blinds for us. The food was excellent, but I would suggest about 1/2 the salt in the chowder. Service was also excellent outside of the blind issue. I would go back.

Beauty And Great Food
This will now be my "go to" place for Sunday brunch. Fresh oysters and cracked crab - oh my. Everything was excellent, especially
the service. The quality of the food is very high and everything was hot and juicy. In addition, you can order off a menu as well as
partake of the buffet. We had a booth right in front of the window overlooking the ocean. It couldn't have been better.
7/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
I was recommended by a fellow coworker, who would come here for anniversaries. At 1st I was disappointed by the fog because I was hoping for a beautiful sunset. However, the beach and coast is right in your face next to Moonraker. It's perfect. Step inside and enjoy the slightly retro look. Requested table with view was obliged. Service was prompt. Drinks were delicious (Strong, definitely not water-downed.) Now for the food. I give my hat off to the Chefs, they are great here. No mistakes on our orders and they were excellent. Coming back next year without a doubt

Nice evening out
Good food, interesting menu and attentive staff. Music added to the atmosphere. Curved tables for window seating causes the diners to either sit either at odd angles or a bit close. Glad the Bartolo's staff have found a new home.
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
a great place all around
Spectacular food and view. I have already recommended this place within 2 days of visiting.
8/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
Spectacular view and fantastic food
Wow! What a surprise! The views were amazing and almost every table had a view of the ocean. The Oyster Rockafeller was the best I ever had and the Beef Tartare was amazing. Dinner was no table and I would recommend to anyone. Do not be turned away if you drI've by stop and eat. I think you will be as satisfied as I.

Great Food and Ocean View
Another excellent dining experience at Moonraker in Pacifica. Great food, service and relaxing scenic ocean view.
8/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
Had not been there before. Took a group of 6. They were very accommodating. View of the ocean was great. Food was awesome!
8/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
Birthday dinner for my wife and it was a great find. Right on the water, service was perfect (not too intrusive but there when appropriate), food was inspired/fresh/flavorful. Decor is a bit outdated but with views like that, you aren't looking at the inside. We will be back.

moonraker by the sea
Location location location! Right above the beach, and with the bi-level seating everyone has a view of the ocean. We were there on an overcast day, so don't know if the sunsets might be a little too bright for comfort. Oh, we did have dinner and a dessert as well! The portions are small, but perfect for those of us who don't need to eat as much as we used to. Both the arugula/apple/walnut and beet/goat cheese salads were delicious. The post roast was good, and although I found the sauce a little too salty my companion thought it was just right. We will try seafood the next time we visit. For dessert we shared the chocolate/cherry mousse. Beautiful to look at, and a fun blend of flavors and textures.

Pacifica's Best Dining
WOW....on the ocean just over the waves great start to a wonderful evening.....waiter was excellent, knowledgeable, attentive and personal without being "in your face". Food very original take on basic foods - ie 48hr post roast melted in your mouth. Definitely will return even if not staying in Pacifica.....!

Returning after many many years
Wow.... we had dinner at The Moonracker after a hiatus of about 10 years ....it was fantastic and we shall be frequent flyers now!
Had a lovely relaxing dinner , great food ,service and breath taking views of the ocean.

Beautiful place to have dinner
This is a lovely restaurant with gorgeous ocean views. It has three levels so every table has a view. The arugula and granny apple salad was delicious. We asked for it to be split, but that did not happen. We had the sautéed peppers for an appetizer. Very generous portion and spicy. Bread brought to table was not warm. I had the halibut entree. The fish was moist. I didn't care for the foam all around the fish. The vegetables were just ok, not very creative. My husband had the Squid Ink dish. It had a good amount of fish in it, but was not spicy. A nice dinner out, but could be better.

Very romantic beautiful Oceanviews
Lovely location, sit window side at a large window facing booth. Food was delicious, and service was extremely attentive.
8/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
Our experience was even better than the last! First, this stylish and romantic restaurant offers spectacular views of the Pacific. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We welcomed suggestions, as everything sounded delicious, and he was happy to share. He guided us well for sure. From the wine to dessert, it was all wonderful! I particularly loved the oysters Rockefeller and squid-ink pasta. My husband ordered the Bolognese and our friends ordered the salmon and halibut. They did not disappoint. I only wish I had asked for the musician's name. We really enjoyed the live music too. Very talented performer played guitar, base cello, and other instruments, as well as sang beautifully. It was great & we'll definitely return!
8/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food but a little pricey
The food here is terrific and the view is incredible. It isn't cheap so I would probably only eat here on special occasions.
8/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
Beautiful ocean view
Great place for appetizers and drinks. Seafood appetizers delicious. Entree dishes: Pasta dishes good. Fish & Lobster over cooked.

We came for my birthday and the service was excellent, the food was out of this world !

Once again - a wonderful brunch.
Once again - a wonderful brunch. Unfortunately, the crab had been frozen and was not as tasty as the first time I was there. The
service is superb. The food is great and very high quality. I like that you can order off the menu and partake of the buffet. We did
the buffet and then split a Belgian waffle from the menu for dessert.

Oceanfront on rockaway beach
Oceanfront on rockaway beach with a great view. Food was well presented with some interesting combinations. Wine list was limited but good. I think the former Barolo owners made a good move. We are from NC and use this area for dining before red eye flights. It is only 20 min from SFO!
9/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
Lovely view from our booth.
Lovely view from our booth. Food was very good. I will be back.

The Moonraker in Pacifica
We have dined there over the years from when it was somewhat tiki and called the Moonraker to when it was Portofino and
now back again to Moonraker. The food just gets better and better and the close up view of the ocean is fabulous.
9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Fantastic views from window booths
The restaurant has a great ambiance. We went on a Monday night, so we got the best seating by the windows, and the restaurant was quiet. The booths sit four comfortably. The food was good, and the service was friendly.
9/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
Evening seaside dining
The service was very pleasant and team-oriented, never obtrusive but always timely in visiting our table. The salmon pinwheel entree was delicious, with a well-balanced combination of salmon, supporting vegetables variety, and flavorful yet not overpowering sauce. The lobster ravioli sauce had slightly smoky flavor; good, but excessively rich (IMHO). Our endive salads and dressing were very good, portioned adequately and well-garnished. The manila clam appetizer was had a wonderful flavor, particular when combined with the grilled bread. However, the grilled bread was a bit heavy on the butter (virtually soaked); less would have been better - and far healthier. We would definitely go back with the thought of trying other combinations.

Perfect for a romantic night out
Located on the second floor, the rustic walk up the stairs reveals a cosy outfit with a view that takes your breath away. Food portions are a little on the larger side, though I am generally a small eater so don't take my word for it. Must try: manila clams - comes piping hot with a side of toasted garlic bread slices, perfect for mopping up the delicious gravy. Squid Ink fettucini was also delicious. Loved the tropical moon drink - absolutely refreshing. Friends had steak and they felt that it could be better. Service was ok -pleasant and unintrusive, though it took a while to get their attention but then again, it was a busy night. Also, they had a pretty decent live band (it was a sat night).
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at the most romantic, beautiful restaurant. Sunset was a bonus.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM

9/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food great drinks
I love my waiter Tony, love the view, love all the staff. The lamb shank is great and do are the scallops. Haven't had a bad experience there yet!
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Perfect romantic evening for my wife and I with nice non-obtrusive jazz music, great view of the sunset over the water, and a warm fire
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
This is my 4th visit to Moonraker. As always, the food is SUPERB! The ambience is gorgeous with the ocean view!
I am always excited to arrive during sundown. Bravo! Beautiful!
9/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
Overall a great expereience.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday last week not knowing what to expect.
I had the halibut and she had the Ravioli.
I have to say that the Ravioli was the best i've ever had. The sauce they used was so delicious. The halibut was perfect... can't go wrong with halibut anywhere you go.
Ambiance and Scene
I made reservations, so there was no wait. We were seated next to the large windows, which gave a great view of the ocean. No complaints.
Definitely recommend Moonraker to all my friends and family.
10/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Wonderful Food & View
I stayed at the hotel and ate both nights at Moonraker. My starters and entrees were excellent. The wine list matches well with the food with choices by the glass or bottle.
I eat early and appreciate prompt service and wasn't disappointed. I don't know about peak time service, however. But, the service staff is attentive and focused on service. I wouldn't be surprised if service is good during busy times too.
The tables are on two levels, which allows for great views of the beach and ocean. Before sunset the sun is blocked by shades that filter the light and can be raised as the sun allows. This place can be very romantic.
Even without the view I would recommend the place for the food, wine and service.
10/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
Based upon our experience with the previous restaurant here "The Portofino", our expectations were very low. We decided to give it a try after seeing some positive reviews and were blown away at how good everything was. We started with the calamari and Oyster Rockafellers as appetizers and they were both incredibly fresh and flavorful. My wife had the crab legs - succulent and marinated while I had the pinwheel salmon on lentils - wonderful and cooked to perfection. We are experienced diners and this was truly an excellent experience with professional service and, of course, a stunning ocean view. It is great to see that this place has made a stunning comeback. Looking forward to a return visit.
10/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
Great scenic brunch
The view from most of the tables is delightful, right on the ocean. The Sunday brunch is great, lots of seafood, breakfast items, desserts! We always get the bottomless mimosas, and make sure we have a DD.
10/12/2013 5:00:00 PM
the last time I was there
the last time I was there I can remember there was the audo of the water (waves ) piped into our table , this i did miss thanks for everything
10/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
Very good restaurant overall! But service is basic. No personal touch. And it bothers me that they don't have butter knife.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
We were a little disappointed they didn't have anymore lamb shank left, it's our favorite dish. But the dishes we chose and what our waiter Tony recommended were delicious too.
10/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
Food with Friends
We celebrated our friends' anniversary, and the evening was perfect. After a cocktail and appetizer at the bar, we were led to a booth with a dramatic view of the ocean. The service was efficient and unobtrusive, so we were able to converse freely. The food was well-prepared (my wife and I both had the filet mignon--delicious), while our friends opted for seafood. All-in-all, an excellent evening.
10/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
Back for more
We have had brunch here several times. The food is good and there is a good selection. The staff are friendly and helpful. The view cannot be beat.
10/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
Have been here a number of times and found it very enjoyable. Mostly for cocktails to meet someone but this time it was for
dinner. Enjoyed their Prix Fixe dinner menu served before 6:30P. Had their salmon pinwheel and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked!!
The service was exceptional and our waiter (Luis) was very attentive but not intrusive. Definitely a plus for the service also. A very
romantic spot with the sun setting and the surfers catching the waves. All in all, a very nice experience! I would recommend the
restaurant to others for the food, service and ambience. Will definitely return!

Gem on the coast
Moonraker has become one of my favorite special treats. The setting on the beach is beautiful, the food is excellent and the service is great. The waiters are old school, attentive and professional, not like so many today who are casual with customers to the point of rudeness ( I don't need a twenty something calling me dude ). Overall, my new favorite coastal spot in the Half Moon Bay/ Pacifica area.
11/1/2013 5:00:00 PM
Brunch with a view
I was searching for a brunch spot in the city (sf) and after realizing they are all about $60-80 a person, I became discouraged. I cannot eat $80 worth of food. I then remembered that the moonraker started doing brunch again and decided to try it out. With the price being half what it would have been in sf, a view you can't beat, and bottomless mamosas, I am already planning my next brunch there. The buffet line is half the size it was 10 years ago, but the food was delicious, and I didn't feel I was missing anything.
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
The food was great and the view was even better. Service was fast and professional.
11/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food was amazing! Great flavors and just the right portions.
11/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
Beautiful view, comfortable and amazing view. I've been there several times over the years and the quality of the food and service is consistent.
