Wine List was limited, eclectic, thoughtful selections paired well with menu, and reasonably priced. Service knowledgeable and very pleasant. Cool location with convenient parking. Small bar, but good cocktails. Look forward to going back.

Fantastic Dining experience for all
Upon entering Brasserie 529 was seated immediately. Waitress was attentive and answered questions without hesitation. The food was exquisite. The desserts were to die for.

Great restaurant in an area
Great restaurant in an area a bit off the beaten path from the others in the Historic area of Savannah. Prices were what we expected and the food was great. Would eat there again if in Savannah.

Excellent restaurant, elegant,
Excellent restaurant, elegant, and perfect for a romantic dinner, with a very attentive staff and a wonderful menu. As a vegetarian, I particularly appreciated the vegetable dish and all of the vegetarian appetizers. My new favorite Savannah restaurant!

Wonderful and charming
We were in town for just one night and selected Brasserie 529 based on OpenTable comments. We were not disappointed. The Charcuterie plate was wonderful, as were our entrees - the best stead I have had in months - and dessert. Put this charming spot on your radar.

Don't miss this place if you
Don't miss this place if you are visiting Savannah. The scallops with pan seared risotto cake was cooked to perfection. The lemon and goat cheese gratin was fabulous (although a little undercooked for my liking). My husband loved his steak and gaufrettes. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and knowledgable. Thank you for a delightful and thorough scrumptious dinner.

Taking Mom Out
I took my mother out for a pre Mother's Day dinner. We got there early ( 6:30pm) on a Wednesday. We ordered the frog legs and escargots for an appetizer which was amazing in the sauce that came with it. In fact we dipped the fresh bread that we received in it so it would not be wasted. Mom had the flank steak and I had the scallops. The steak came out medium rare which was good for us, but, you may want it cooked a little more. The scallops were cooked perfectly and came with mushrooms that were delicious. The portions seemed a little small at first, but, once we finished we had plenty. In fact we didn't order a dessert. All in all it was a great experience. Can't wait to go back and try the mussels and turtle.

Fabulous French Cuisine !
This was our first dining experience at Brasserie 529 and it was superb. The food, service and atmopshere were all outstanding. We are locals and will definitely be back !

Being Savannah locals we have talking for some time about goint to Brasserie, I'm so glad we did. We are early diners so we were sat outside, which was perfect. The food was unique, very good tasting and the martini was PERFECT. Yes, Elder Flower in vodka, does work! We were so wrapped up in picking entree' that we forgot to order "sides" if you will. It was an outstanding dining experience.

Mother's Day Brunch was wonderful
We went to Brasserie 529 on Mother's Day and it was amazingly good. My friend had the waffles and I had the seafood in pastry. Both were great. The chocolate mousse we had for dessert was very rich; we were actually unable to finish it.

Delightful dinner spot
This was just the spot for the romantic dinner my wife and I where looking for. This was our 1st visit to brassie 529 but won't be the last. Food was fantastic as was the service, we dined outside on a beautiful spring evening.

Brasserie 529 gets our vote!
What a treasure! My college best friend and I meet for lunch monthly in Savannah, driving in from Hilton Head and St Simons. We're both in our 60s now and picky about our food and wine. We want our experience to be both delicious and memorable. Brasserie 529 delivers . . . AND it offers an off street parking area. Pure heaven in downtown Savannah. We'll be back, often. P.S. I'm going to try to replicate the carrot fennel soup. Excellent!
5/22/2013 4:00:00 PM
My Bride and I decided to do the tasting menu with wine pairing. She had never done one before and she absolutely enjoyed the experience. I have done a couple tasting menus before the one at Brasserie. This one ranked right up at the top. Food was fantastic and the wine pairings were spot on. Wait staff was very friendly and eager to tell us about the wines and food. The chef even came out to ask what we thought of the experience after the 3rd course. Great overall experience!

You must try this restaurant!
Loved this restaurant. I've lived here 19 years so I've experienced almost all the fine dining options Savannah has to offer. This one certainly ranks right up there and I highly recommend it. Here's what makes it different; it's menu sticks to the French theme, and doesn't overwhelm the diner with a myriad of options. They have their signature dishes and they do them well, We started w/ the fromage cheese plate and the selections were delicious. Oh, let's not forget the chardonnay infused bread and honey butter to start. I could have had that for dinner. We followed up with the radicchio salad and let me tell you, It was amazing. Finally, I had scallops and risotto and my husband had the duck. Both were simply unbelievable.
6/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
What a fantastic find. I'm a little late in reviewing, but I remember I had the duck which was prepared better than any duck I've ever had. My girlfriend had a chicken dish that she raved about. Excellent time and we went on a weeknight so the noise level was low. Highly recommend.

Becoming a favorite dwntwn
Service at the Brasserie has become very consistent and European in it's flow. The french onion soup is excellent as is the cheese board for sharing. Another guest at my table had the BLT salad that looks great, I'm going to try it on the next visit. The addition of a filet was a great move. I've had it on both of my last visits and they were prepared perfectly each time. This is a great date spot if you're looking for moderate to quiet levels of chatter. The food as noted has become very consistent and for business or pleasure you'll not go wrong. Another unsung perk of Brasserie is parking, just outside the door. You can't get that anywhere else downtown!

This restaurant just keeps
This restaurant just keeps getting better and better - the food and service are off the charts.
Savannah is fortunate to have this outstanding dining experience.

What a great find!
We were in Savannah for only one night and were looking for a great restaurant off the beaten path, away from the touristy spots. There weren't many patrons when we walked in on a Saturday night at 8:15, so we were a little unsure about the great reviews we had read. But Brasserie 529 lived up to all of them. Wait staff was very professional, came promptly, and everything we ordered from appetizers to main course was delicious! We had to pass on dessert because we were so full, but undoubtedly they were just as good as the main dishes.
6/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant was recommended by locals in the neighborhood where we stayed during our visit to Savannah. We are so glad we dined there. The food and service were exceptional. We enjoyed our dining experience very much. Although it was raining the evening we went there, I imagine it would be very pleasant to dine on the patio on days with nice weather.

The Best in Savannah!
This is the Best Food in Savannah by far!
The tasting menu is the way to go! I loved every course. We ate at Elizabeth's on 37th the next night and 529 is so much better if that tells you anything.
7/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
Nice French experience
Small elegant but casual place to enjoy the wine, service, food, and each other. Service was outstanding. Had the 5 course chefs tasting with wine. Wine pairings were excellent and generous. Food was good and arrived at a nice pace. Would definitely recommend and return.

Real Artists at work in the kitchen
Chicken breast stuffed with andouie sausage under the skin, incredible.
Pork Belly Confit was so interesting.
Sweetbreads and Fennel combination never occured to my wife before, but is terrific.
But, the FIG GELATO was beyond belief! Who would have thought ot that?
Service was friendly and competent from the maitre'd on throghout the meal. The winelist was excellent, we had a wonderful Sancerre at a reasonable price. The bill was very reasonable and each item we ate had something notable about it- to include the butter for the bread that had garlic and truffle oil in it! We go to Savannah often and have several wonderful restaurant favorites, Brasserie 529 is where we will eat on our first night in Savannah this coming Fall!

We went to Brasserie 529 for
We went to Brasserie 529 for my adult daughter's birthday and we had a great time, with very good food and wonderful service. It is one of Savannah's best restaurants and beats out the usual fare near the waterfront. We will be back on our next visit to Savannah.

Good Food Great Service
Mallory provided excellent service, and the food was great. John, owner/chef, visited our table to make sure everything was OK.

Food was delicious and service
Food was delicious and service was top notch. It was our first time so we didn't know what expect. Atmosphere caught us a little off guard. The large tile floors and glass dividers between booths give the space a bit of a cafeteria feel. We are in our late 20's and were the youngest people in there by a good 15 - 20 years. But the food was great!
7/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
I have been traveling to Savannah several times a year for a number of years. I have always enjoyed the fine restaurants this city has to offer. But, I had not visited Brasserie 529. I was very please with their food, their menu selections and their service. From the cheese board thru the wine and dessert it was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone who likes fine dinning and I will certainly visit it again when in town
7/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
The entire dining experiences was exceptional:
Menu was varied and our choices were prepared well and served in a timely manner.
Mallory our server was well versed and we enjoy our time with her as our server.
Defintley will return with friends.

A place the locals would choose
Without a doubt, the finest meal I have enjoyed in over a year. I dine out a great deal for work and for personal enjoyment. I also have a high standard and would award five stars to perhaps 10 places I have eaten around the nation and in some international travel over the past 25 years. This one easily joined the list. The modest portions are rich and satisfying. They are to be consumed slowly and savored.
Service was crisp and flawless while being friendly and relaxed. This was certainly a place I would be comfortable dressed in decent casual clothes (golf shirt and dockers or shorts). There is a charming outdoor area. The restaurant is located in a true residential area that is close enough for most visitors to walk to.

best food in Savannah
From the wine to appetizer to main dish and divine desserts, Brasserie was the most exquisite dining experience we have had in Savannah and the competition here is very stiff. If you want a full taste of true French cuisine , there is no other place

Wonderful French Restaurant
We have dined at Brasserie 529 several times. The food has been excellent and the service very good. The air temperature is always cool to the point of being uncomfortable so I recommend wraps for the ladies. The noise level can get a little high as well. This is a fairly expensive restaurant but worth the additional cost.
8/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
6 of us enjoyed a great evening thanks to the wonderful wine list, interesting menu, perfectly prepared food and our terrific server, Chris. Also, they have their own parking lot - a real plus in Savannah.

Loved this place
Amber and John (the owners) were very friendly and the chef creative and the food delicious - this is a gem in Savannah.

Great first night in Savannah...
This was our first dinner during our trip to Savannah. The food was wonderful! It was an "odd" experience only in that the power had gone out earlier and we were the ONLY table in the restaurant for the whole night. But the food itself was fresh and delicious and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings.
9/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
Not to be missed!
The food was delicious and the portions were just right. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and attentive without being overbearing. I like the way the restaurant is set up with some secluded areas. It would be a great place for a romantic dinner. Extra plus...a downtown location with its own parking.
9/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
This restaurant was recommended
This restaurant was recommended to us by neighbors. The food was fresh and tasty, but could have had a bit more seasoning. The service was outstanding. We will definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

A Downtown Gem!
Beautiful decor, knowledgeable and friendly staff, varied menu and well prepared food.

What a gem!
My husband and my favorite cuisine is French and The Brasserie is definitely a find. Everything was great but the food was to die for wonderful. It rivals our favorite, Maximilian's in Seattle ( on this side of the ocean). We felt like we'd been transported back to the 7th in Paris!
10/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
The restaurant was not full
The restaurant was not full on a Saturday night. One of the items on the menu was not available which seemed odd for
An empty restaurant. The food was very good and we enjoyed our evening.

This was our first visit to Brasserie 529 & will not be our last. They have a great drink menu, wonderful staff & most importantly the food was outstanding.

We have dined here more in
We have dined here more in 2013 than anywhere else in Savannah. Consistently great food that works very well for our early evening preferences.

In a quiet little spot in historic Savannah...but very reminiscent of those great restaurants in Paris! I will never go to Savannah again without eating here...my #1 restaurant recommendation!!
