First time to visit and we
First time to visit and we will return. Has a nice outdoor patio area that would be nice in the warmer months. Food was perfectly prepared and the prices were reasonable.

For me not to complain about
For me not to complain about something is unheard of. The duck and lobster dishes were amazing. The duck came with a sauce that it didn't need because it was so flavorful. I allowed my server to help me make decisions, and he did a great job.

We are from Eureka Springs
We are from Eureka Springs Arkansas and have eaten here many times on our Tulsa trips. This time we were joined by friends who own a restaurant in ES and they were very impressed with the food selection, preparation and service. A little Gem in a large town.

Great food and impeccable service. Food presentation was impressive. You can feel comfortable going casual or dressy. Wonderful atomosphere.

Say hello again to an old Favorite!
After a change of ownership I was extremely happy that fact did NOT affect the food, service or quality of the French Hen. The new owner has maintained and I think improved (thought that was impossible) the 3 areas I mentioned. It had been a long time since I'd eaten there. It won't be now. I've rediscovered a Tulsa Gem! 5 Stars!

Reliably Great Food
The French Hen is my favorite place for high end dining. Quiet and perfect for romantic dinner or for special guests.

artful food experience
Professionally prepared foods of top quality. Steak, roasted duck breast and scallops were melt in mouth wonderful. One of the best caesar salads I have had in a very long time. Highly recommend the french onion soup as well. Quiet low light dinning area, well suited for a romantic evening dinner. Our waiter was a very wonderful part of our overall experience with his knowledge of the dishes they have as well as his professional service. Prices were in the very upper level, but pretty much on track for this experience. I would recommend the French Hen to others and will be returning in the future.

Enjoyed the French Hen
Lovely setting and the service was exceptional. The food was very good and we especially enjoyed the chocolate mousse for dessert.

Everything i've had here has been great. Pricey, but worth it. Osso Bucca is awesome and the wine list is reasonable. I wish they had more by-the-glass wines, but understand why they don't.

The go to spot in Southern Hills
The French Hen is quite possibly the best choice for dining in Tulsa's Southern Hills District. I make an effort to get there every time I'm in town.

I hosted some out of town guests and they commented that the French Hen would be hard to find, so it must be good. Each of the dishes was great. The portions were larger than expected, but still not too large. The wine list was short, but high quality. We had a mid range priced wine and it was excellant.

30th Anniversary Special
My wife and I spent a very nice evening dining at The French Hen for our 30th wedding anniversary. The experience was wonderful all around. The food was amazing, the service was great. We've been in Tulsa for 5 years now and just discovered this gem of a restaurant. We will definitely be back again.

Restaurant yes, reservation no!
My group of four had to change our reservation time which I had made online with Open Table. When I called The French Hen to ask to change the time, I was told they had no reservation for me. Fortunately, I was able to make a reservation for the new time. However, I thought that you should know that something had gone wrong with the communication between you and the restaurant.

Good first experience
I went with a friend for a special occasion. The food, while fairly pricey, was absolutely delicious and worth the money. Our waitress had longer intervals between visits than I would have liked, but was nice. There weren't too many people there on this weeknight, so it was calm and quiet. Won't be able to eat here every week because of cost, but will definitely be back.

Absolutely the Best !
It was Absoulutely the Best meal all trip an outstanding evening ! Our guide to all this was Dustin he was gracious and professional and we had a superior dinner -- we look for and appreciate a restaurant that has Foie Gras it is a treat we are always on the look out for . Kathy Bondy, her husband, Dustin and the Chef all do it right. The Crab chowder-the tender loin with Foie Gras - the appeitizer Foie Gras as third course not the first course and the chocolate mousse for the finish it really was a perfect meal. The Red wine was perfect accompaniment to the meal. Want to celebrate? - definitely come here! -- want to just have a great meal and a good time with good people come here.

A noisy night @ The Hen
Ate here in October 2013. The restaurant noise level was quite high, and was worsened because there was a wine dinner going on. Food was very good. Bar service was very good. Inexplicably, our waiter vanished after serving our dessert & we never saw him again; we had to get our check from another server. Otherwise, the service was very good as well. I would dine here again.

French Hen Surpise
This restaurant is located in a shopping center of sorts. As such, I was wondering how they could pull of a bistro atmosphere. They have. It isolated from the rest of the businesses in a way to make it intimate. Very nice all 'round.

Recommended but overpriced
I had the French onion soup and the bouillabaisse (yeah, 2 soups), and my husband had the Caesar salad and the salmon, all of which were very good. The wine list was a little light on the by-the-glass options, so we got a bottle of the Petite Petit. This was a syrah, and we liked it a lot. For dessert we had the poached pear, which again was very good.
The ambience was upscale-casual and comfortable, but avoid the table with the bright, undimmable overhead light. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. There was another table with 20+ people, but there were no lags in the service at our table. However, given the prices, I felt our server should have been a little more knowledgeable.

Best Menu in Tulsa
In Tulsa for the first time, we checked online for best places to eat. French Hen was rated #1 and we found out why.
This outstanding restaurant is tucked away in a non-descript shopping corner in Tulsa...in fact, we almost didn't find it!
Beautiful classy romantic venue, wonderful menu, great staff and delicious food! You can't miss with this restaurant choice!

Excellent as always!
I took my mother and two of her friends to the French Hen for lunch. The service was perfect, staff very knowledgable and friendly. The Chef is remarkable at making unique dishes and the food leaves you wanting to return so that you can try every little thing on the menu! Just great for any occasion.

We had 7:00 reservations celebratin
We had 7:00 reservations celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. The staff was extremely courteous, a quiet atmosphere. It appeared that all the table around us sat around the same time because 90 minutes into the evening everyone still seemed to be enjoying their meal and the ambience. I had the ribeye special which was cooked to perfection; the asparagus was just the right texture and flavor. The wine list offered adequate choices. My wife order the seared scallops & shrimp pasta, the flavor of the pasta sauce was excellent but we would have preferred thinner pasta. Overall a very good dining experience and I would recommend it.

Tulsa's Hidden Gem
We found this beautiful little restaurant in Tulsa, the food was delicious, the service was great, the wine was exceptional. We had a Salmon dish that we split, a special salad, and a wonderful Pear desert. The waiter was great, he was very engaging and helpful without hovering around.

Took out of town guest to the French Hen for dinner, the service was friendly and very good. The food was excellent and entree arrived very hot! Our guests loved the Mixed Grill and truly enjoyed the warm and cozy ambiance of the restaurant. One of the guests was from Europe and is used to fine food, he left very happy with the meal!
