Unique period interior is beautiful
Such a unique spot for drinks or a meal in NYC. Reasonable and great location for pre--theater.
Cannot wait to return.

Stumbled on this gem after seeing the Book of Mormon matinee...it's almost directly across the street, but it was like stepping into another world. What an amazing place. 20-ft ceilings, 40+ seat bar. I strained my neck looking around at the over-the-top Victorian decor. It's a treat for the eyes as much as the palate. Our server was super friendly but not overbearing, and the menu had something for everyone. We all enjoyed our meals immensely. I'll definitely be back.

Had a great time at this busy, noisy, happy place right in the Theatre District. We had pulled pork french fries (yummy), Shepherds Pie (real good) and fish and chips (real good as well). If you are looking for a romantic, quite dinner you have to look elsewhere. This place is vibrant, loud and crowded. We loved it.

This place is beautiful.
I love the decoration so much. The food is good; Service is fine; The tables are little bit too close to each other, I was lucky enough that wasn't a lot of people when I went. There was a problem that they took us to a broken table which shook when we were eating. However, this place is really good! RECOMMEND!

Love the decor!
The place looks and feels amazing. The food was alright. The waitstaff was eager and very helpful.

As a New Yorker, I avoid times square like the plague but, I'm glad I made my way over to 49th street! Very cute, a little offbeat but, food was good and the service was outstanding.

Longest bar in Manhattan?
Nothing quite like this old Irish gem. You will enjoy the walls. Victorian meatballs as an appetizer! And a delicious raspberry torte for dessert. All served in a fun atmosphere.

Love the decor and the ambiance.
Love the decor and the ambiance. Hostesses and staff are very nice. And welcoming. Table Service was a little slow mostly on drink refills. The music is WAY TOO LOUD. Still one of the best Times Sq options and it doesn't feel touristy.

Busy, but fun!
Good place to dine before a show or just to eat. There was seating available during our 6pm Wednesday evening visit, but you should make reservations - if you're going to a show make a note of it in the reservation or to the hostess so that they know and can accommodate your schedule. We found the place still filled with a happy afterwork bunch. The chatter was a little loud - they could use something to dampen the sound, but sitting across from each other in the back we could talk to each other just fine. Drinks and food were good, ample lists, menu leans towards "pub" fair, but has something for everyone. Will go back next time in town!

waitstaff-excellent, food very good, young eople-loud; but that's fine. this is a great place for kids to go after work to be social and enjoy each other's company. we needed to be at the theater in 40 minutes, we were early and the food was perfect. A lot of fun

Stood out among other Times Square tourist traps. Would come back knowing I could show relatives living out of town that affordable, delicious restaurants exist among the theaters.

Just a treat to find! Great staff and busy, fun vibe. Food was just better than average with good staple choices of British and American. I wouldn't call it an Irish bar.

The brunch was decent and the waitstaff was nice. The place was pretty empty though, so don't go for the scene.

Friends from out of the country were visiting NYC, so I took them to Lillie's for dinner/drinks on their first night here. As they were staying in mid-town, we decided to keep it close to their hotel. Considering the touristy area, this is actually a great find! The service was great, our waitress was super friendly and helpful, and she was even attentive and patient while I waited at our table for my friends to arrive. The food was good and came in fairly large portions, and the drinks selection had great variety. We were there for a while, catching up, eating, drinking... never felt rushed at all. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely consider going there again!

An off-peak oasis in Times Square!
After an exceptionally stressful work week, a coworker and I went here for a 1:30 lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was a perfect oasis of calm, tranquility, good food, good beer, and exceptional service. We asked our waitress if the lunch crowd had come and gone, and she said it had -- but that they were girding for the after-work crowd, which is traditionally boisterous, and especially on Fridays. Perhaps I'll need to get my coworkers back here on a Friday for drinks...!

The best time to be at Lillie's
The best time to be at Lillie's is pre-matinee or post-matinee. You can enjoy pre-post brunch/lunch or lazing over the great beer list. Weekdays after work is way too loud - can't hear oneself think much less you're companion's talk.

Always a pleasure...
An oasis of tranquility, right off of Times Square! Whodathunkit? Great food, great service, and a wonderful calm environment with lots of period pieces to oggle while dining. The lunch special, which includes a beer, can't be beat!

Went for brunch before a show, was not very crowed. Good value for a NY brunch. Service was good and the food was very good. The decore had a great feel. *Note: Brunch starts at 11am but the bar (for mimosa's) opens at noon.

The wife and I had a great time. There was so much to look at there. The service was great and the food tasted great. The portions were enough to fill you up. The Victorian meatballs were delicious, you gotta try them. It's definitely not quiet and there were a lot of people at the bar. We came 45 minutes early for our reservation but they were able to seat us right away. Definitely worth trying.

Peaceful, calm, and quiet.
Hard to believe you're right off of Times Square when you roam into this place in the middle of the day. It's truly a find! It changes character once the after-work bar crowd wanders in, but for a midday lunch, it's a great place to go to. Service is always prompt and polite, the food is well-prepared and well-presented, and the lunch deal even includes a beer. We'll be back again, many times, as we escape from our office in the heart of Times Square, and look for places NOT swamped by tourists...

Stained Glass Victorian meetup spot
Charming and interesting spot with uniquely fabulous interior. First time visit even though I walked by the place several times, manager was gracious and hospitable and accomodating as my party had grown to 7 people but my reservation was only for 4.. 37 beers on tap, well drinks and port! Damn fine place to eat, drink and meet people.. We met the property brothers (out of all people) that night while I was taking in my last port of the night... Long Live Lillie's!!!

Hidden gem in the theatre district
Came in for dinner before going to see Cinderella. Decided on the trio of appetizers. The meatballs were delicious with a fabulous sauce, though it was a small portion. The pulled pok sliders were great. The entire restaurant was beautifully decorated for Halloween. Service was great. We weren't rushed and our food was served promptly. We made a reservation and I was glad we did because it does seem to get crowded with the work crowd. I never would have thought about this place frankly didn't know it existed . But, got the recommendation from a friend. We will definitely be back.

Heaven for the Victorian heart!
Absolutely stunning. So perfect for brunch or an evening with the girls. Could also be lovely for a romantic evening!!
10/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
We had an early show so we had an early reservation(5:15). It was not very noisy until about 5:45. Portions were smaller this time but the waitress was super.

Theatre District Gem
Great place for a casual meal before or after the theater.

I real find for a lovely Victorian atmosphere, pre-theater lunch specials, and friendly service. I understand that it gets very lively at night...a beautiful bar must encourage the bar scene.
I think the title Lillies's "Times Square" gives the impression that the restaurant is on Times Square...that might discourage some. It's on 49th St and great for theater...away from the maddening crowd!!
11/5/2013 4:00:00 PM
The fancy looking decor with a casual vibe, I'd def. go back. Cheers to the hostess for making feel welcomed and at home right away.

Terrific find.Must go.
This may be a big tourist stop..but let me tell you, we were so happy with this choice. We come into NYC a couple of times
a year...lived here for 30+ years...been to many wonderful restaurants. Saw Lillies written up in one of the papers about
a year ago, kept the article and finally went to see this big, beautiful place. The hostess,Mireille, who greeted us,was more
wonderful than any I've known in all of New York. She was funny, sweet and very down to earth. Our servers were adorable,
professional, and very attentive. Food was very good and plentiful...hmmm-beet salad!!
The only negative was the music-too loud. We're seniors so that may have something to do with that!
Defenitly stop for a drink or the whole dinner scene. We will be back!

Good Choice in Times Square
I don't normally eat dinner in the Times Square area but I needed something close to Radio City for a quick dinner before a show. Lillie's has a really cool vibe. It was busy but not overwhelmingly crowded. The hostess was aware that we were going to a show and made sure to tell the waitress. The food we ordered was excellent and of high quality for a reasonable price. Lillie's has a victorian feel with a lot of interesting decorations. I definitely recommend it if in Times Square and would go back.

Lillies was dazzling
I live in the neighborhood and always avoided Lillie's because it looked like a tourist trap and too expensive. I finally gave in and went because I was going to see Chicago (on the same block.) I was completely blown away from the minute I walked in. This place is beyond beautiful. Its rustic and hypnotizing. Definitely a must see.

Great brunch! Prices were very reasonable for New York. Fun atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff.

For a girls' day out the Friday after Thanksgiving, we went to Lillie's before seeing Cinderella. My cousin spotted Lillie's from across the street without realizing it was where we were going and said it was so pretty she wished we were going there. When we entered it didn't disappoint. A Victorian restaurant in the middle of Manhattan is truly an unexpected find. And being decorated for Christmas just added to the ambience! The food was basic but fine, our server was friendly and professional, and while the room had a vibrancy to it, the noise level allowed comfortable conversation. Only in Manhattan can you find a Victorian restaurant with an air of sophistication. A magical start to the night!
(Incidentally, we are New Yorkers)

Cool setting, great bar
Lillie's features an over the top Victorian theme which is cool. Great bar scene.menu is more upscale pub grub with lots salads, sandwich burgers and a few carefully chosen entrees. Service was quite good. We were in the mood for burgers and Lillie's were great. A word about comfort...seating is a mix of couches and chairs but all are high tops. Had trouble getting up on the couch, too high, and the chair was a bit lower but one of the most uncomfortable chairs ever sat in. As much as we enjoyed Lillie's , the seating Aline might make me think twice about returning

I have been here several times
I have been here several times and I am in love with the brunch- the food is great and the price for brunch is unbeatable for the area. What lacks here is service- we waited a good 20 minutes before we got a waitress to take our order and waited another 20 to get our food. I don't know if it was personal or maybe it was an off day.....but my friend took it personal as the couple sitting right next to us had no problem getting service and were attended to regularly.
I take it easy because that's just how I am....I go to lillie's for the food not the waitress.

Great atmosphere at Lillie's. Christmas decorations were wonderful. Bar food with an english twist. I'd go again.
