Great dining in GJ
Was surprised to find this place on a recent trip to Grand Junction. Intimate setting with a nice selection of food choices. Would have liked a wider variety of wine options.

A top tier restaurant
Outstanding food, great and knowledgeable waitstaff, and a great election of wines! Love the flight option for wines! Planned our vacation in the area to include an overnight in Grand Junction just to visit the restaurant once again! Looking forward to the next visit!

Service was excellent. The
Service was excellent. The stuffed poblano pepper was an amazing appetizer! We each had a different wine flight so that we could taste 6 wines and at least 4 we would rate as very good. The beef in a reduction sauce was very good and the scallops & pasta were also very tasty. Only negative was the noise level but we find that to be a problem in most resaurants and this wasn't as bad as some. Definitely will be back.

626 on Rood
626 on Rood impresses a diner with an ever-changing menu including Palisade and international wines, Western Slope lamb, pork and beef, and and homegrown produce. The restaurant is the gem of Western Slope Colorado. Locals hesitate to recommend the restaurant fearing they won't be able to make their own reservations. Staff is well-trained and professional.
If you enjoy fine dining in a casual atmosphere, don't miss 626 on Rood in downtown Grand Junction, Colorado.

Unique wine bar in Grand junction
Delicious 'smal plates' and flights of wne were highlights of 626 on Rood. Fresh local ingredients were incorporated into interesting dishes like heirloom tomatoes with house made mozzarella. Seared fois gras with peach compote and gingerbread toasts was outstanding. Main courses are available but we had more fun ordering several dishes from the smaller plate menu.
The wine offerings were varied and well chosen. The waitstaff was pleasant, knowledgble and charming.

Perfect service, wonderfully prepared, creative dishes. A warm evening . . . just too delightful.
My compliments to the chef and wait staff for their pursuit of excellence.

Seasonal Heirloom Salad Sublime!
The dining experience for our business group was excellent- from the beef roast w/reduction, lamb and lobster but it was the heirloom salad using local Paslisade tomatoes and house made mozarella that brought me back a second time this week. Atmosphere allowed for thoughtful conversation.

We chose this restaurant for our 28th Anniversary dinner. It was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left, everything was perfect! It IS a bit on the expensive side, but for us that was ok because it was a special occasion. Our salads were perfect. My husband had steak, and I had the lobster, both were delicious. They have a lengthy choice of wines and beer to choose from and a few signature cocktails too. Our service was absolutely the best you could ask for (Angelina and Hunter), and the owner Brenda & also Theo gifted us with a Crème' Brule dessert for our anniversary celebration! Give it a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed! We weren't! :)

Patio quiet but a bit dark!
Got a later (8:30pm) reservation for this cute restaurant as we arrived in Grand Junction pretty late on Friday night. The place was pretty empty, so I guess we didn't need a reservation. We sat outside which was very plesant. The only light was a candle on our table. Gravel from the patio kept finding its way into my sandals. The waiter was soft-spoken but very nice. He knew the menu well and was very apologetic when he had to tell us the fresh fish we had ordered was out. The back-up fish, King Salmon, ended up being delicious and only a few dollars more. The beef roast was tender and well flavored. Drinks were great and the peach caprese salad was fantastic, we even got the recipe for it.

After a slight service glitch, which the owner, Brenda, resolved quickly and with panache, we had an absolutely delightful meal. The Peach Fest in Palisade was going on, so many dishes featured peaches in them. We had a delicious, light, and refreshing bowl of gazpacho to start, and I had the grilled shrimp with rice noodles and peach salsa garnish. We topped off the meal with a yummy peach Napoleon that was light and just right on the sweetness. The service was just right, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

Great restaurant- local ingredients
Great restaurant- local ingredients beautifully prepared. 626 could be in any big city in the country. Not to be missed.
While you are there try a bottle of Colorado wine to accompany your meal-they have some nice wines on their list.

Mostly great food, formal servers
5 stars for the lamb stuffed poblano, cheese plate, and local sourcing. 4 stars for the heirloom tomato salad, the crispy mozzarella and the lobster. the beets in the beet salad were a huge disappointment, and the salad itself needed more dressing. The service was excessively formal and disruptive. Hard to carry on a conversation due to server interruptions. Until the end, the server appearances slowed way down. I didn't care for the Guinness flavor on "Daa Bomb" dessert. Also, the menu was puzzling. For example, the lamb would be specifically listed as locally sourced with the farm name in one dish, but not another. Same with several other ingredients. So it left you wondering if the source some locally, but not all?

Fit for Foodies and Winos Too!
We came to Grand Junction from Denver, to go to the much anticipated Palisade Winefest. We went to 626 to celebrate our 16-year wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted with a smile (and a menu with our names on it and wishing us a happy anniversary),then taken to a table inside the very-crowded restaurant. It was too loud for my me so I requested an outdoor table and that was the perfect choice. Dominique was our waiter who had a wealth of knowledge about the food and wine. He was fantastic! My only complaint is that the portions are very small for the price and I thought $20 for a glass of one of the better pinots was a little excessive.

Great Food and service...
Went on a review that food was good and was not disappointed. The menu had many interesting and current interpretations on beef lamb and fish and the portions were good (not too big not too small). Wine list was nice but servers lacked knowledge and some bottles were unavailable. Nonetheless this was a hit and would highly recommend.

Post-Bike Race Restoration
Absolutely the appropriate choice to refuel, relax, restore after a bike race. Discriminating, organic, locavore food fuel for physically-depleted bodies. The wine selections were spot-on, as well. I wish this restaurant was in my city! Well-done; my congrats to the (female) owner and her partner chef. This is a high-culture dining experience in a non-resort Colorado town. Lucky residents!

Great, reliable restaurant
Great, reliable restaurant in Grand Junction. The food is always imaginative and delicious. I had the grilled peach caprese salad (lots of peaches and just a few shreds of mozzerella, but when asked, the server brought more) and my husband had the spinach salad - very fresh. We had the grilled shrimp and beef roast entree. The shrimp was light and flavorful, and the beef dish, while a bit dry, was a hearty and delicious dish - perfect for a rainy day. A bit pricey, but we always end up here when on the Western slope.

Every time I visit Grand Junction I make time to dine here. I took clients this trip and they loved it too! The staff is very knowledgeable about the food, preparation and also about wine pairing recommendations. Overall great experience with amazing food choices!

A wining and dining experience
It was our first time in Grand Junction and I wanted a special dinner with an opportunity to sample some of the area's delicious wines. What a find! They have a great wine selection with local and not so local wines. The food was fantastic and so was the service. Our waitress was very helpful in helping me select a wine to drink with my entree. She was also a big help in assisting in a dinner selection-I really couldn't decide because everything sounded wonderful. My husband and I can't wait to go back!
