I enjoyed my meal at Citrus. The food and service are excellent. We tried several things and liked them all. I loved how calm and peaceful it was there. I hate going out to eat and having to shout to be heard. This place is wonderful if you want to have a conversation with your dining companions.

Took my girlfriend here. It was her first time and she absolutely loved it. Upon being seated, the Hostess assisted my girlfriend in picking a bottle of wine that she thought she would enjoy. Our waiter Erick was also knowledgable about the menu. Overall a great experience, great food and friendly staff.

Lots of positive changes as
Lots of positive changes as of late and much more "grown up" feeling than my visit last October. They started us off with a fun amuse-bouche and a refreshing hamachi sashimi/hearts of palm salad which nicely prepared your palette. We ordered the diver scallops, which were cooked perfectly with a nice crust. My guest ordered the bison, which was good and lean, but I enjoyed my Kobe beef special much more since it was richer in flavor. Service was excellent and attentive with the perfect balance of check-ins. Overall a very good dining experience and look forward to dining here again.

we came here for the silicon
we came here for the silicon valley restaurant week event and were not disappointed. we used to come here around ten years ago when it was a tapas restaurant. at first, i was bummed that it turned into a steakhouse. however, i really enjoyed my steak there this time.

Get the sugar donuts for dessert
The food was spectacular and the price was right! You have got to try the dessert sugar donuts with the vanilla dipping sauce, it's heavenly!

I usually don't like Santana Row restaurants and was skeptical at trying Citrus. I went on a week night and it was during Silicon Valley Restaurant week. I did order form the prix fixe menu. The choices were great. The onion soup was delicious. The flat iron steak was cooked & seasoned perfectly and the donut hole dessert was delicious. Service was very good. The restaurant was not busy while I was there so I was not rushed and had time to chat with friends and relax. I will definitely be back!

Liked the wait staff better than the food. I picked a mushroom tart that was really heavy and I would only give it a 4/10. The waiter deserves a 10/10. He was great and very attentive. Nice place. We ate outside under the heater and listened to the water fall.

Great Dessert and Ambiance
Food was delicious, sugar donut was delicious. Service was a little slow, but if you are not in rush, it's fine. Enjoyed - will return in the future.

I decided to take my friend to have the dessert tasting menu for her birthday. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the service and food exceeded my expectation. 4 courses of delicious desserts and a glass of port was served. Unfortunately, I happen to be gluten intolerant. The staff was wonderful and brought me a mojito on the house. On top of that, they brought me 3 courses of ice cream. Everyone was so nice and attentive. My friend enjoyed her birthday desserts. Her favorite was the doughnuts. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Me and my wife were celebrating our 3rd year anniversary and could not have chosen a more perfect place to dine at in Santana Row. The atmosphere was very romantic and very quiet. The service we recieved was great. The wine selection was good and the delicious food blew us away. We both highly recommend to couples and will for sure dine there again.

For our 5th anniversary, I made a reservation at Citrus restaurant. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and immediately seated right where I asked for during the reservation call. Within a few minutes, our waiter was there to also greet us and take our drink order wishing us a happy anniversary. Food was really creative, with a real talent to stimulate taste buds. The presentation was delicate and made with great taste and the alliance of flavors and consistencies were very unique. The wine list had a good selection of wines that I could choose from to pair with the food.

Entre portions were a little slim, appetizers were exceptional in size and taste. Ambience is great, very adult atmosphere, but our 7 year old was not bored

Just got back from New York so this was a big ask for a restaurant to follow-up after. Citrus did not disappoint, went with my wife and sat outside in the courtyard. Great ambience, a beautiful courtyard setting. Service was exceptional and the food and wine was good. Definately plan on going back.

Great anniversary dinner
Celebrated our anniversary with dinner as Citrus. Food, wine and service were excellent and it was a very nice romantic setting. Highly recommend it for a special occasion.

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary at this fine dining. The staff was amazing and even celebrated our anniversary with 2 glasses of champagne on them. Entree was not up to par and our server gave us dessert at no charge. The staff did an outstanding job making our anniversary a special one. Thanks Nathan!

This was our first time to Citrus, we went for a celebration dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it all! It was a wonderful evening in the company of dear friends, great food, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent, attentive service (thank you Nathan!)! We'll definitely be back.

A very lovely Birthday dinner.
Everything here from ambiance, waiters, hostess and food is exceptional. You are greeted warmly when you walk in, are checked on multiple times to make sure everything is tasting well and wait time for food is very short.
I had the Chefs sea food special "Cioppino" which included Trout,Clams,Scallops,Shrimp,Calamari and some type of grilled bread, all sum-urged in the tomato wine sauce. Everything tasted hearty, fresh and seasoned perfectly. My mom had the Kobe Rib Eye steak which had minimal fat on it and cooked just right. Very tender as well. We were going to pass on dessert, but our waiter (thanks again Eric) surprised us with a tasty Birthday Creme Brulè.
I highly recommend eating here if you are in the mood for a fancy dinner.

Innovative Food Excellent Service
Dinner started with very fresh hot sourdough rolls with a unique and delicious crock of butter topped with blood orange olive oil and grated orange zest. My salmon had perfectly crispy skin and moist meat and came with pistachio tahini, Israeli couscous and roasted black garlic.
My guest had the chef’s special, Korean short ribs that were braised, then battered and fried, kind of Korean BBQ meets tempura. It was creative and delicious.
We really appreciated the innovative food and use of wonderful ingredients. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the dishes, and the service was excellent.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the perfect setting for an enjoyable dinner.

A very pleasant, enjoyable dining experience. Compact menu, lots of beef, some chicken / fish / vegetarian dishes. All well-prepared. Knowledgeable and helpful waiters.

Hidden Gem, Will Return
Once you actually find the restaurant (I had to ask the hotel staff to find it), you find a quiet, reserved ambiance with a surprisingly few guests for a Friday evening at 6:45PM. Given that the hopping hotspot bar is across the courtyard, the restaurant may get more busy late in the evening.
Citrus provides a measured dining experience (as in, not rushed). Fortunately, every dish is worth the wait. Even the bread is served with a butter infused with orange olive oil that adds a unique and pleasant taste. Appetizer flavors were complex and delightful, and all the main courses, from short ribs to whitefish to rack of lamb were excellent and interesting in their presentation and taste. Overall prices reasonable, ~$50/person w/wine.

Appetizers were delicious. We got the tuna tartare and diver scallops, we could have eaten those all night! For the entree, I got the filet of beef, medium rare, and it almost melted in my mouth. Others got the pasta, seared tuna, and seabass, and they said it was quite good as well.

Citrus not bitter-sweet
Citrus is located in the Valencia Hotel, in the heart of San Jose's new up-scale shopping and dining district .. Santana Row .. They have "cubicles" of sorts .. which enclose your table on three sides, and separated from other areas by chain "veils" that give you a wonderful sense of privacy, and VERY quiet and romantic. The service was a little too leisurely for me, but others who wished to spend more time dining might have found it just fine. It was a wonderful evening and I recommend "Citrus" to all. They currently have a Wednesday special, where all wine is 50% off when purchased by the bottle.
