I like the Cup because it is downtown near the theaters....parking sometimes is a hassle.....but the food is good, desserts are amazing, and the service friendly and thoughtful. Casual and hip. Fun place to eat good food.

Don't Miss The Cup
We had an early dinner at the Cup before an evening performance at the Fox Theatre. Our table was waiting when we arrived. The service was prompt. The menu was varied with nice choices fitting my vegetarian practice. The drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. We were very pleased with everything.

The Cup is the Best
We LOVE The Cup! It is always a no fail. excellent experience in every aspect. We eat there at least once a week and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. The price is in keeping with the quality.

We took friends from Canada
We took friends from Canada to the Cup for dinner and they were very impressed by the food, the ambience and the service. We had a really good evening, the food and service were great as usual. My husband and I regularly eat at the Cup Cafe and are always happy with the experience. We have taken several friends there as well, and we have never had a bad experience and our friends have always been very favorably impressed.

We ate there before the theater.
We ate there before the theater. We were seated on the beautiful patio and had great service from Miranda. Our meal was fantastic. When we arrived at the theater I discovered I had left my money clip on the table, with cash, drivers lic and credit card. I reached for my phone to call them but I had a message already from them telling me they had found my money clip and that it was in the managers office. After the theater we returned and the money clip was returned to me, with everything there. Special thanks to the staff for their honesty and follow up in trying to reach me.

Excellent food, excellent
Excellent food, excellent service, tucked into the revitalizing downtown Tucson area with great funk to span the decades that the Hotel Congress has been around. Hearty helpings, good looking desserts but alas no room at the end.

Great for outdoor dining.
Great for outdoor dining. Inside was very noisy. Otherwise a very good place, highly recommended

What Took Us So Long??
After living in the area for 7 years, we tried Cup Cafe for the first time. We loved it. Our dinner was wonderful and our server Celeste was totally helpful and attentive. Great cocktail, albeit a bit pricey, however the food was affordable and notably gourmet. We cannot wait to return. My birthday is in June, so look out.

The perfect restaurant/bar/music
The perfect restaurant/bar/music space to anchor downtown

We had a great first experience
We had a great first experience here. The food was excellent, and our server Celeste was excellent. We ate here before going to a concert at the Fox. I loved that there was a great variety of clientele. We'll be back!

The Cup never disappoints
The Cup never disappoints. Excellent downtown ambience, fine food, great service, and possibly the best martinis in Tucson (although Blue Point, Wildflower, and Sullivan's also make excellent martinis).

Great Downtown Spot ...
We were a party of 8 gathering for a Goodbye Lunch for a co-worker. Easily made my reservation (and later changing it) through Open Table which worked out great. When we arrived our Reserved table was still partially occupied but they quickly got us set up at another table without skipping a beat. The food was very good, loved the variety of the menu choices -- hearty sandwiches, great looking salads, and a couple of specials made the meal choices hard. But gave us ideas for our next visit! I would definitely recommend the Cup for any kind of gathering.

Perfect from start to finish
This was the best meal of my recent trip to Tucson! The fish tacos are absolutely perfect. Everything was very flavorful -- kept eating "one more bite" of the tamales despite being stuffed. Sitting on the patio made for very fun ambiance. If I lived there I would eat there every weekend.
4/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
The server seemed to forget we were in his section. 20 minutes to order and after WE were done eating it took 30 minutes to get the bill.

The Cup Cafe is always a fun
The Cup Cafe is always a fun experience. The food is great, and the service usually excellent. The period decor in this historic hotel location across from the restored train station is fun and funky. Not to be missed on a visit to Tucson, although the locals also frequent this downtown gem.

Our fave for Tucson brkfst/brunch
Great casual atmosphere with friendly staff and guests. When we travel to Tucson we always meet our friends there and bring our cat along too. She is always welcomed by the staff and other guests. The breakfast menu is great, and I imagine eating there at other times would be equally good.

Music too loud
While the food was excellent, the music in the dining room was too loud, making want to leave the restaurant as soon as possible.
6/8/2013 4:00:00 PM
The waitress was very personable
The waitress was very personable and did not rush us to leave - something that has happened to us at other restaurants. We love The Cup. A notable find for out of town guests or locals. We look forward to our next visit. We also had an after dinner drink at the lobby bar and I was served an excellent Malbec. See you soon !!!
6/26/2013 4:00:00 PM
The food and service was outstanding! I had the squid from the starter menu and the fishermans stew from the entree choices...both were DELICIOUS! The salmon in the entree melted in your mouth. I highly recommend the Cup Cafe!

This was our first visit to The Cup Café, and it is now one of our favorite places to eat in Downtown Tucson. My wife and I drive 2 hours several times a year to go to Plays, concerts, etc., so it is nice to have another great choice for dining that is so convenient to the Theaters. The staff was fantastic as all made sure our water/wine glasses were full and plates picked up. Every one assisted our server.
The food was the best!

Everything was great from
Everything was great from beginning to end. Food, service was fantastic. If I had to comment on something I would say it was a warm morning and maybe some fans or misters on the patio would be nice. I know the option to sit inside was available but if I had to add something. Thank you guys for a great breakfast.

Always a Winner!
Cup Cafe has been one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson for years, and it keeps the standard VERY high. As I said to my young dining companion at my last visit "Even in New York, this restaurant would be considered very cool." I lived in Manhattan for 11 years so . . . The food is always excellent and interesting. The servers are friendly and I always ask their opinion on a wine selection to match what I'm eating and their suggestions are always right on the money. The atmosphere is funky, fun - penny-covered floor, wine-bottle chandeliers, there's a distinct "vibe." The noise level tends to be energetic, so if you're looking for a quite dinner for two, this is not the place. But it is a gem and I love it!
8/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
I live in phoenix and every time I'm in Tucson, I go to this place. Really great food, service was spot on. Some nights, they feature a movie nite where you can sit outside and watch it. Really great ambience!

Fun time at The Cup
Four of us were out for dinner on a holiday weekend. The Cup has a great menu and really well prepared food. The vibe was funky and fun. Great bottle of wine recommended by our server.

Historic dining spot
This cafe is housed in the historic Hotel Congress. The ambience and decor are historic - it has an old-timey feel. The breakfast menu contains standard fare. Food is nicely prepared. Wait staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. This is definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Tucson.

I happened to discover the Cup Cafe a few years ago while waiting for a concert across the street....this is a great place to go for those nights when you want a bit of special flavor before great music. This time the menu had changed and the taste treats were even better......except for the lemon meringue pie! It looked gorgeous but the meringue tasted like whipped marshmallows. So the pie was really too sweet and disappointing when compared to the anticipation of taste! Just something to be avoided.....but the rest is yummy!

Lovin The Cup!
With downtown Tucson coming back to life in such an amazing and vibrant way, you can't help but be drawn into the heart of the city to explore and find some amazing food choices. My family and friends have always loved Hotel Congress, with it amazing historic charm and a uniqueness all it's own. Inside this little gem of a hotel sits The Cup Cafe, flaunting some of the best food in all of Tucson. We had an amazing dinner, and we always keep coming back to the cup. Our party had the Chicken and Gnocchi, The Real Thing, and also the Rigatoni con Polo, all of which were amazing, each with a little special twist to make the dish shine. The staff was very attentive and we were very well cared for. Another amazing dinner at The Cup!

Delicious food, cool atmosphere.
I love the cup cafe. I have been for brunch and for dinner and I found both to be delicious. I had the portobello mushrooms this time and they were outstanding. I was with a friend who has less than adventurous tastes, but he still found something to eat (a burger) and enjoyed it. I like to bring friends here when they come in from out of town because the food is good and the Hotel Congress is in a great location and usually has fun things going on, including live music!

I went to The Cup for my birthday and the food was exquisite and the service wonderful! I'll definitely be back!

Girls night out
The hotel is old- the outdoor seating was simple- The service was outstanding. There were 6 women. We got the happy hour special.. Tacos were wonderful.
10/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
The little table we sat at provided a view of the outdoors while giving us privacy and relative quiet. The Happy Hour prices for starters and wine were reasonable -- $3 for a large glass of red wine. And the food was excellent. Wayne, our server, was charming and competent. A great combo.

Remains a great downtown venue
Outdoors in the patio , music playing, balmy evening and delicious creative food. Another downtown gem

Busy, Friendly, Great food
Hadn't been here for years. Happily surprised with many new excellent menu items. Especially enjoyed the portobello mushroom vegetarian entree and the chiken entree. Large selection of good beers and wines. Key lime pie was divine. Would pass on the chocolate cup dessert.

Who Would Have Thought
I would have the most fabulous meal at this little place in the quaint old hotel. I had the trout, not only was it delicious the presentation was perfect with just the right side dishes and amounts. I didn't leave feeling over full, just right kind of like Goldie Locks. I will definitely be back.
11/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Food a plus
If you are older, food is the reason you would come to the Cup Café. Designed for the younger, college, hip crowd. Food is a bit pricy but delicious and prepared and presented beautifully. Definitely very noisy.

Dinner for Two
My friend who is an annual visitor to Tucson hadn't been downtown before. We decided to sit indoors next to a big window (which had water marks on it). We started with a nice, spicy bloody mary & one of their specialty drinks, Dusk in the Desert, which my friend liked. We both had a cup of the soup of the day, the red pepper cream soup which was piping hot and very tasty, but less than a minute after we got our soup, our entrees arrived. I had the pricey, but delicious, jalepeno & cheese tamales. My friend had the New York Strip with chili glaze steak special, and that was quite flavorful. For dessert, we split the last slice of coconut cream pie which was also good but also expensive. Our waitress could have checked on us more often.

Key lime pie
The key lime pie was delicious. So was the latte, chicken and gnocchi and fried squid. The waitress was funny, attentive and smart. Great urban dining experience. Good value as well.

Great food....as I said...they never disappoint.

Cowboy watering hole...
Great chuck wagon for cowboys and cowgirls alike, kids too. Great drinks. Great foods. Also, you may well bump into the ghost of John Dillinger.

I have had the most consistantly delicious food from The Cup. There is nothing on the breakfast menu that isn't great.

My Cup Overflows
I just LOVE Cup Cafe. Being in an historic hotel with loads of character makes it instantly memorable, but the food is consistently great, and we have never had anything but a wonderful, friendly server who seems to truly enjoy working there. Because the space is limited, it is noisier than some, but this is a favorite for both my husband and myself. Delicious, fun, and friendly. Win win win.
