We really loved the avocado
We really loved the avocado taster!! Loved the chicken and shrimp tacos. Didn't like the tri-tip tacos. Wouldn't get those again.

If you're looking for something
If you're looking for something a little different in Mexican style food, this is it. The food is very tasty, and the presentations are unique. Noise level is on the high side.

We had easter brunch here. Great location. Great decor and feel to the restaurant - modern and casual. Some of the best guacamole.

Duck Confit tacos and Puerto
Duck Confit tacos and Puerto Vallarta Ceviche were terrific!! Only complaint was the Tortilla soup which was way too salty - perhaps just a bad batch. Love the margaritas also!! Would come back again!

An unusual and fun semi-upscale
An unusual and fun semi-upscale Mexican restaurant, with a local vibe.

We made a last minute reservation to celebrate my sister's birthday at La Condesa for late lunch/early dinner. I live in Calistoga and have been trying to make my way over here since the end of November. Well, the wait was definitely worth it! Our server rocked (her name was Katherine). She was attentive enough but also gave us our space and time to enjoy ourselves.
As for the food, all I could say was WOW. This is the first time that I've been speechless. Everything was amazing. It trasported my sister and myself back to being in Mexico (I lived in Guadalajara for some time and she in Mexico City). Major props to the kitchen staff for accomplishing a no-easy feat.

We enjoyed our visit to La
We enjoyed our visit to La Condesa. We requested a 5:30 p.m. reservation (being from the Central Time Zone, this equated to 7:30 p.m. at home), and we were the only diners in the restaurant at that time. We would highly recommend the Guacamole and Salsa samplers; both are unique and add extra depth to the meal. The service was excellent, but I would temper this comment with the reminder that we were the only people there at the time. La Condesa is located on the main street of St. Helena, which can make parking somewhat tricky. Overall, it is worth a visit.

La Condesa has the best tequila selection in the Napa Valley and is dedicated to expanding the tequila experience for their patrons. This was the third tasting dinner that I have attended there and I can say without hesitation that they are great. The food and service are very good, but what really sets them apart is the quality of the tequilas and the distillers that they present. Hosted by the Tequila Whisperer, these dinners feature some of the top distillers in the world. The knowledge that you will gain and the joy that these distillers share in the production of their products is just incredible! I look forward to the next tequila tasting dinner and encourage anyone with an interest in spirits to check this out. Thank you La Condesa!

This is not your typical mexican restaurant. The food is absolutely wonderful. We are from Houston where there are a lot of great mexican restaurants but mostly Tex-Mex style. La Condesa is Mexican to be sure but cutting edge, different and absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend!!

I don't usually write reviews but I figured might as well for my experience at La Condesa. I went on a Friday night and even with it being busy I was greated with a smile and kind tone, we where seated immediately and seeing how busy it was i was happy to make reservations on there web site. The waitress was great, timely, and answered all our questions about the food. The food was delicious! I ordered the chicken enchilada verde plate and it was the best I have ever had! The chicken was moist not dried out, the verde sauce was mouth watering- had a hint of lime that toped it off. Overall I had an amazing experience! I will definitely be suggesting this restaurant! Thank you La Condesa for making a Friday night a great night.

La Condesa is worth another try
When La Condesa opened in St. Helena 2 years ago, it was so noisy that you could barely hear the person sitting next to you. Since then, the food has improved and the noise level has gone down to a pleasantly lively level. In 2013, Chef Chris Mortenson took over the kitchen adding several new menu items. Recently I enjoyed a beautifully composed salad featuring watermelon and tomato with an excellent vinaigrette and crumbled cheese. Other stand-out dishes are the street corn, guacamole, seviche, chicken rojo, and carne asada. The tacos and enchiladas are also good. La Condesa makes a really fine house Margarita, There's also an excellent list of beers including the Dogfish Head Palo Santo, one of my favorites. Give them a try!

This is an absolutely distinctive
This is an absolutely distinctive Mexican dining experience. Everything is outstanding. So much better than any 100 Mexican restaurants you have eaten at. From the chips, to the salsas, to the special corn, tacos, chile rellieno, margaritas, etc. And the server we had was absolutely great!

Great Mexican in the wine country
La Condesa delivered on all fronts: authentic great flavors, creativity, sharp service and a very hip dining room. Don't miss the exceptional guacamole sampler, the platanos (as best as Ive ever had including Puerto Rico), the "street corn" and the great salsas. Al of the entrees were standard Mexican, just done at a higher culinary level. As others have commented, it is more expensive than neighboring and local Mexican food options but if you want slightly more upscale as you would find in a hip SF neighborhood, with a chef team that uses upgraded food in the kitchen, this is the place for you. Oh yes, the collection of hand spun ice creams is not to be missed. Kids went nuts for them. I did, too.

El Califa Madness
The El Califa is a must have on this menu. Same with the Margaritas. Do both in copious amounts for desired effect.

Great food and reasonably priced!!
The food was probably the best Mexican we have had. We chatted with some locals that come weekly who told us a few dishes they like. The atmosphere is okay, not anything particularly exciting, but clean and cute. But the food is DEFINITELY worth the trip!
